  1. Just a few more to add to an already amazing year . . . - House of Horrors is amping it up and the house gets better with each passing visit, but I have to give the win to the Frankenstein Monsters! - I think I missed my favorite robot again, but I'm still looking . . . - I always love getting startled by the last gargoyle in Gothic - the one to the right seems to always get me twice each time. - The nurses in the finale room of Silent Hill were more aggressive than usual - great job ladies. - Of course, I have to thank my favorite fox. Sorry I didn't bring the candy this time, but thanks for giving my friend some special attention. You were her first HHN scare and she talked about it all night. You made her feel very uncomfortable and for that I thank you. - I finally interacted with the girl with the fox mask. You, too, are amazing. Dr. Jimmy . . . I hope you don't mind that I offered her some of your candy. However, she didn't seem to like that idea. I couldn't believe that she thought you would try to poison her. Then, saw her later on two different times, she called me a liar and screamed bloody murder as she ran off. It was so funny that a guest who was in the exit queue for House of Horrors (we were in the Alice Cooper queue) said "That girl is so annoying." To which I say that is an amazing compliment. I love my foxes! - I got to see my favorite prisoner again - thanks, again for the recognition. - I always love interacting with the warriors and it is great to see them making connections with returning guests. You guys are amazing to watch in NY. - Okay, I have to admit after being not impressed with the Beasts, I got a great scare last night. I was sitting outside Mel's with my friend (an HHN newbie), Justin, and one of his friends when a Beast walked by the windows and tried to scare my friend. When he was finished, I was taking a picture of them, when BAM out of nowhere a Beast attacks me from behind (the street was behind me) and scares the crap out of me. Excellent teamwork - I never saw it coming! - Thanks to the Iniquitus who creepily recognized me in NY. I'm glad we met - keep an eye out for me. Great job to all of the scareactors - I'll see you again this Friday!
  2. After this weekend, I was finally able to experience this house several times at night and the experience was much better. I still think that there are things that need to be improved and it's not my favorite house, but it does get better every time. I am growing very fond of the Frankenstein scenes as I feel that they are the scariest and the scareactors are the most aggressive. I hope to see this house get better and better since it deserves the honor as Universal pays tribute to its legacy of horror.
  3. You all do such an incredible job with the creativity of your phrases and interactions. You are definitely the most fun horde to watch. I'm glad I made some new "friends" this weekend - I'll be sure to keep an eye out for your cast in the upcoming weeks. And, of course, a special thank you to my favorite fox. You never know . . . I just may bring you some marzipan one night.
  4. I have to agree, once again, that you guys are simply amazing! You make us proud to be in the Baccanoid legion! Your energy, fierceness, stealthiness, and ability to ambush are one-of-a-kind. I'm glad that my friends each belong to a different legion - it gave me a lot of time last night watching you in NY while waiting for everyone to pass through Finnigan's during their time slot for their badges. Between your maneuvering around the Mummy lockers and the tactics in the street, you are one of the best legions, if not the best legion, out there!
  5. I have never been startled so much by the same scareactore. This prisoner is truly my hero! If you are on the forums and are reading this kudos to you. I'll see you again soon - keep up the amazing work. If she is not on the forums, please pass on my congratulations and thank yous to her. Voorhees will be ready for you on Friday!
  6. I do agree with you. I have sat and watched the walkers in action and they do an amazing job at blending into the crowd and assaulting their victims when they least expect it. They don't have a large area to work with and I hope they are allowed to do a modified massive cast change so that we can see the true wonders of the Walking Dead casts. On a side note, I don't know where to put this, but we got to see Gloria Estefan in front of the bus on Saturday night when they were filming her segment in the park. It was pretty cool. Unfortunately, since there were so many on-lookers, I only have a side picture of her face, which is half-covered in a hood. She seemed to be enjoying herself, as she was surrounded by appendage-eating walkers!
  7. When do we know how many of our legion members showed up at Finnigan's? I agree with Troiandan . . . A&D are trying something very different this year and we need to be patient as they work things out. I, too, am frustrated when I am running all over the place to get my badges and then not have them show up. TJ was taking e-mail addresses on Sunday and said that they are continuing to work things out. They hope to have all of the kinks worked out by the time the game really starts up this Thursday. I also agree with JWFearman . . . being a teacher who lives an hour and a half away does not help me with the in-park experience when it will only be available on Thursdays and Sundays. At least I made it in last night since we had Columbus Day off.
  8. After six nights of the event, the scareactors continue to amp up their games. Traditionals: I'm sorry that I disappointed you when I admitted to not being a Morphan. Thanks to my favorite marzipan-loving fox - I'm glad I finally know who you are now. Round 1: Nightingales FTW - I looked forward to seeing you each nigt; Round 2: Traditionals - I'm glad you love your marzipan! Thanks for the photo. Thanks to my new favorite cast of Traditionals, including fox-mask, owl-mask, kitten-mask, and all of your other friends. Thanks for the interactive video in front of Simpsons - I'll be back on Friday! Warriors: You all have so much energy and you know how to be stealthy and attack aggresively. You make me proud to be a Baccanoid! You guys are amazing in NY and I always have to catch you in action. Luckily for me, I had plenty of time last night when I was waiting for my group to get their Finnigan's Badge (of course, four people in four different legions). Prisoners: One of my favorite scareactors is the prisoner who I keep taking videos of, yells at me for it, and then manages to scare the crap out of me EVERY TIME! I do startle when I'm not expecting something or someone, and you get me during every interaction we share together. Thanks for remembering me - I'll see you again this Friday. Overall, amazing energy and I always look forward to spending time with both prisoner casts. Oh, and I'll say that our favorite scare last night was when one of you were hiding in your spot in the bushes by MIB. You scared one of my friends to much that I have never heard her scream and yell so much in the six years we have been going together. Congratulations and thank you! House of Horrors: I don't know which cast, but the first Frankenstein on the right in the hallway and the running Frankenstein get me every time, even though I know you two are there. I even had an "Oh S**t!" moment last night, much to the enjoyment of my friends. Alice Cooper: carnage, it's always great seeing you. I, too, have to point out the jocks for always recognizing us HNN members! Walking Dead: To my special hospital patient walker . . . I keep missing you. Sad day. I hope to eventually see you in action. Maybe when the line for this house gets more reasonable, I'll be through the house more often. Dead End: I look forward to the greenhouse room EVERY time I go through this house. You guys are doing an amazing job! Thanks to the shoutout to my Vault shirt (hey, I can't wear my HNN shirt three nights in a row) in the bathroom scene - you know who you are. I hope you're feeling better after last night. Gothic: As I write each time . . . just amazing. Nothing else needs to be said. Gothic for HOTY!
  9. I did notice some of the changes since opening weekend and this house has now jumped to number three on my list; it sits below Gothic and Penn & Teller. The scareactors seemed more into their roles, some effects were tweaked, the siren seemed louder, and a strong ash smell was added just before the carnival. I will say, however, that there still need to be some changes to make this house perfect. I agree that this house could pass the other six for HOTY, but they must make some additional changes. I love Silent Hill and am looking forward to visiting and re-visiting this house many times over the run of the event.
  10. After going for my second weekend, I'll say that the scareactor aggression and interaction has improved even beyond the amazing job they did last weekend. If things continue to get better each weekend, I cannot even imagine the inensity of Halloween night! The traditionals, the prisoners, and the warriors continue to impress me each time I pass through or stay in their zones. I was exiting from Alice Cooper into the traditional cast when the prisoners arrived. The prisoners pretty much attacked the traditionals, yelling at them to get out of their way. I don't know what it is about a maniacal inmate running after an "innocent" little trick-or-treater with a chainsaw, but it was fantastic! I also have to give props to the prisoners who were around Mel's on Friday night around 8:30 (?). Not just were they aggressive outside, but one of them came into the restaurant while we were eating, crept up to a table of about ten people, and screamed into their ears in classic fashion. She made the entire half of the table that had their backs towards her jump as if they were all being electrified. She continued to come back over the next fifteen minutes, standing at the door reving her chainsaw, putting it down, then running in at them again. And . . . we had front row seats! Thanks to all of you in the houses who consistently recognize us and improve your scare tactics with each and every pass through the house. - carnage, I finally saw you on Friday - there were many HNN shoutouts during the P&T cast change, while I was standing in the AC queue just in front of the house - the P&T chef, light people, Elvis, and Roy are always amazing - the intensity of TWD was better this weekend, but I still have to give a special shoutout to the last hospital walker - the Gothic casts are still continuing to amp up their game each and every night - amazing! - the Silent Hill casts were more on target this weekend and this house has now jumped into third place for me, based on scareactor performance Bottom line . . . A&D was absolutely right when they said to expect no safe zones and that even HHN veterans will be surprised at what it being changed this year. Change is good when it works. Well done, A&D, well done!
  11. Thanks for the great interaction! I really look forward to watching you all in action again this Friday and all of my other visits next month. You are all so fierce, aggresive, crazy, and have no fear in invading the guests' boundaries.
  12. Hi back to you. After talking to you in the park on Saturday afternoon, I looked for you on Saturday night in the house. I pointed to your position, but the scareactor just stared back at me . . . I guess it wasn't you. I'll try to catch your cast on Friday.
  13. When I was talking to TJ on Saturday night as they were closing the booth (I missed by about one minute), he said they gave out about 600 cards out of 3,000. Maybe they printed more, but that's what he told us.
  14. Thank you for helping to solve this mystery, my good sir. I look forward to Friday night! Now you know who I am.
  15. Thanks for the info, Cody. It's good to know that they still plan on delivering what should be a truly incredible experience. That's what is so great about going to HHN throughout its run - you get to see the tweaks they make to even better an extraordinary experience.
  16. Yes, 14 walkers in that scene. There were three behind the cash register, three behind the racks, two standing in the corner, and six in the dressing rooms. We could not move in the room because there were so many of them - and when we started to run down the hallway with the dressing rooms, all six walkers jumped out. It was definitely amazing! I, too, wondered where the well zombie and bicycle girl are in the house. Did they get scrapped for generic walkers? Cast change? Tisk tisk Universal.
  17. See, I guess that's why I'm confused. My friends and I looked up the lyrics and listened to some of the songs, but we only did so for the Welcome to My Nightmare album. Not being fans of Alice Cooper, we only went by the name of the house when researching. Fortunately, we have five days to check out the rest of the songs and maybe make sense of the house. Thanks for the info.

    Gothic

Ahh, thanks for clearing that up. I apparently was confused. Without the "Cast Location" thread, we have much more investigative work to do. Kathy does a great job at finding her favorites in the houses and on the streets. I'll be back next Friday (wearing my HNN shirt from last year) and I'll keep an eye out for you. Gothic for HOTY 2012! (As of now, Penn & Teller are your biggest competition.) Keep up the great work in that cathedral!
  19. While I think it is one of the weaker houses this year, I agree with you that it is by no means the worst house ever. I wouldn't even go near that classification when such things as Fear Factor, Cold Blind Terror, Funhouse of Fear, Creatures!, Dungeons of Terror: Retold, Reflections of Fear, and Disorientorium, just to name some of those houses that deserve that title. For me, as I eluded to in my post (although I didn't say it), I plan on doing some more research into the album and I will definitely be going into the Alice Cooper house with an open mind on my next visit to HHN. Some scenes are great, but I just don't get them . . . yet.
  20. You're quite welcome. You all deserve it! Phenomenal job and I can't wait for more action in this legion. EDIT: I was wearing my old Vault shirt last night since my HNN shirt got drenched on Friday. Well, one of the prisoners didn't approve of my shirt and attacked me with her chainsaw, yelling (of course) that the Vault died years ago. I told her that it was resting in pieces and she told me that's exactly what it should be doing. Then, she attacked me again and ran off. EDIT 2: Who is the larger black woman with the big pig tails? You, my friend, are truly maniacal! I can see you like this in real life and I worry for you. There are places to get help.
  21. You bring the candy, Kathy - I'll bring the marzipan! I love the fox-masked traditional! So far, he is my favorite scareactor of the year. Who are you? This was my most anticipated legion, but unfortunately, I can never find you. One day, I will follow you guys around to see the amazingness that I know you deliver! I have had only two interactions with this group (both with the fox-masked trick-or-treater) and some of my favorite memories thus far have come from this legion. I am most looking forward to interacting with you all!
  22. Going into the event, I was not too excited about the warrior legion, based on the description and the costume. But I will say that they are an extremely intimidating group! They march down the street chanting in their formation and swinging their blades and then - BAM - they dispese and scare the crap out of people. I do wish that every warrior was given a weapon as the blades really help complete the costume. I have spent the most time watching the warriors, just based on timing and rotation of the hordes, and I will say they are amazing! I also got a unique experience as I was eating in Louie's on Saturday night when they (along with several other members of other hordes) bombarded the restaurant and went from table to table intimidating those trying to eat. I loved it! I also caught them in Sting Alley and they were also excellent fitting into the spaces and jumping out with their loud grunts. Very effective - keep up the great work, guys! As a side note, I liked this legion so much that I became one of them on the Horror Unearthed game! Not that I'm helping too much yet, but we are in second place!
  23. The beasts are very interesting creatures and they are definitely very aggresive. I have not had too much exposure to the horde as a whole, but I commend them for working so hard to go above and beyond the call of duty. My favorite experience so far with them has been watching several beasts walk around the windows of Mel's and pound on the windows to scare the guests peacefully eating inside.
  24. Okay, so what I've gathered so far is that the tall Iniquitus stay by the tombstones in each area. They must be the ones who have called the dark legions from the dilapidated construction site that is Universal. Just like an Indian burial ground, I can understand why these creatures are surfacing from their graves - I guess this is one good thing we get out of Universal disturbing their final resting site. It appears that the shorter ones, who appear in different cotumes, represent each of the legions (similar to a coach) and marches them from one area to another. It looks like Dr. Jimmy's cryptic clues are, in fact, very multi-layered as he promised they would be. Very clever, my good doctor! The Iniquitus are a great idea, especially since Death was rumored to be an icon for the past two years. This is what was expected I guess. They make for great photo-ops, but I hope to see them begin scaring as well.
