  1. My hope is that the facade / first room work as transitional rooms into the Otherworld. Considering the use of scrims in recent years wouldn't be surprised to see "before your eyes" shift. Very attainable with some clever set dressing and lighting changes.
  2. ... a lot of people are gonna be dissapointed with this lil guy.
  3. Gonna go out on a limb and say this is the best use of Jaws Queue yet. I also really loved the fish tank scene.
  4. I had had this notion from the get go. They fit a little more seamlessly than the Gentleman into different eras as they blend in with the existing carnage, whereas the Gentleman are the direct source of it. One thing I'd maybe like to see later on would be the Nightingales taking to Salem, Massachusetts amid the witch trials or feasting during the fall of Pompeii.
  5. Speculation on the latest mask posts: the knee jerk reaction is, of course, it's a Weeping Angel from Doctor Who. However, I think it'll be used as a wink and a nod to Doctor Who fans in the cemetary house. Imagine a strobe lit room filled with statues, faces covered with their hands, and suddenly one leaps out to claw your eyes out. The other masks could very well be ghouls featured in the maze, falling in line with the "blue light" aspect of it all.
  6. Just as we entered in through Mary's mirror or the Universal Palace theater, might we do the same and enter through a casino or "house"? Thereby making the mazes individual gambits for our lives, and giving Lady Luck a playing field. If nothing else, I'd enjoy seeing a dramatic entrance after last year's kinda blah affair.
  7. That quote is attributed to Seneca, who was a Roman philosopher. I do love the look of the wax seal, I love that they always go all out on media material like this.
  8. Some Sucker Punch characters are in, as is Rebecca Black. I think I heard Charlie Sheen as well.
  9. Take the scareactor codenames with a huge grain of salt. I know a decent number on last years list were fakes.
  10. The reason A&D shies away from space themes is because they're so expensive to recreate properly. A lot of what made up IT were practical crates and containers made to look sleek and futuristic. If I recall correctly, they purchased a good bit of Ikea product to be redressed in that house.
  11. Got mine for 7:20 on the 12th. Fingers crossed on getting cast again.
  12. As neat as it would be, I don't think we'll be seeing Jaws hauntified any time soon. If they were to do a retheme it would probably far closer to the event so as to not diminish the ride experience for day guests.
  13. I can add that the speculation for one of the houses in this thread is dead on. Not to be one of those guys who vaguely says shit, but I thought you ought to know that some speculation is a hop and a skip away from correct. And that's all I've to say about that! :3
  14. As a scareactor: guests making "clever" comments. I understand it's a defense mechanism for people who are scared or nervous, and that's cool. But chances are, the witty observation you're making has been made by about forty people before you. Why YES, I DO have something on my face! You're awful observant.
  15. It's not so much a matter of just "ordering more paint", it's a matter of having the necessary funds to do so, whether or not it is worth the extra time (having to do make up for another forty or so people in a timely manner) and labor (employing a half dozen or so extra makeup artists = a lot of money over the span of a month.) Additionally, the survey people are there at the exit to take your opinions, so if you have problems with a concept voice them. I personally think the house did just fine with the masks and I don't think UV makeup would have been as effective.
  16. I meant to reply sooner, but this was me. I actually remember this scare perfectly. Very glad you guys enjoyed yourselves.
  17. Thank you very much, glad to hear you enjoyed our cast.
  18. Thought I would share it here, but my scene got scene of the week for my cast! My scene partner and I were going nuts last night, too, we scared the crap out of some show directors. HALL OF WINDOWS FTW!
  19. Here's one: To anyone who claims that scareactors in a house/scarezone are "not doing anything" or "didn't scare you" nine times out of ten that person is either resetting or trying to recuperate. It's very easy for someone attending the event to say something like that, but please understand that if a scareactor tried to scare everyone that went through their area they'd either pass out or have a ton of lame scares. I don't think anyone sets out to deliberately not scare people, you just have to remember that beneath the makeup, effects and costumes we are, in fact, humans, not some animatronic that can perform the same function repeatedly.
  20. To add to mine, I am in Scene 2 on the left side.
  21. This house is really excellent. Beautifully done, cleverly executed, and it has a very dramatic finale scene. Anyone who says otherwise is derpy.
  22. I wasn't a fan of Hades either. Which is true, but the same can be said for people who have already decided which houses are going to be great and which aren't, regardless of reviews. I honestly think it's not wise to read a review before attending any sort of event, because you go in looking for the flaws the reviewer mentioned from the get go.
  23. Here, here! This kind of preview is a privelage, so being an ass is totally inexcusable. A lot of people lose their jobs on preview night for acts of douchery, so stay in school kids, and don't do drugs!
  24. Here's a few shots of the "censorship" for Rock the Universe. Esquelto Muerte http://yfrog.com/jt53jwj http://yfrog.com/jbf5ujj http://yfrog.com/5l2tzj Hollywood http://yfrog.com/jwoonwj http://yfrog.com/137a4xj http://yfrog.com/mmm8zyj Pumpkins, Zombie Gras and Saws 'n Steam were not modified in any way. Pumpkins were at completion. I was pleasantly surprised at how effectively they covered everything up. There was literally no way for anyone to see the props and set pieces that were concealed. Also of note, though really nothing I'd call news worthy, I was walking by Shrek when I noticed something to do with Esquelto. Underneath the tarps were electric candles that seemed to have been left on. I went behind a few more of the flats and noticed them lit under the tarps as well. Safe to assume we'll see these lit up like that during the event. http://twitpic.com/2n7xlj That's all, folks!
  25. WRONG THREAD, HERP DERP. Also, I'm going to have so much fun with Liz. >:3
