  1. We so frequently are discussing best and worst houses of the years however was just thinking of houses that I liked that may not be as popularly liked. Certainly not saying they have to be your favorites of all time but houses you enjoyed but popular opinion may not have been as high. Some houses from recent memory for me include: Urban Legends: La Llorona Asylum in Wonderland 3D Dracula Untold From Dusk Till Dawn
  2. 22 - Alice Cooper, kinda a tie between Alice, Newk'd and House of Horrors but I rember going through Alice less and just in general not really enjoying it 23 - Afterlife: Death's Vengeance , This is single handily the worst HHN house ever for me, I couldn't despise this house more if possible 24 - Roanoke Cannibal Colony ... I guess? While certainly Roanoke and FDTD aren't making any of my best of lists I don't dislike them as much as Afterlife or Alice Cooper, and this was TWD's best year for me and actually even enjoyed it that year. 25 - The Walking Dead, after it actually being good for me at HHN 24 this really drove the "beating a dead horse" and really wanting it dead after taking two years to get it right finally then back to crap then just want it gone 26 - The Walking Dead, keep forgetting this house even existed last year and I think that alone should be reason for more people to give this house more hate than Lunatics Playground, at least LP I had some fun in but TWD I really didn't care at all.
  3. Sorry if this has been discussed already elsewhere but are we expecting more props/stages in this zone or do we think this is it?
  4. Exactly, like even if not this weekend but ready by next then that is fine and fair but any longer then I will really be like "Hey what is going on?"
  5. I guess I am just confused as to why it would take that long? I mean I am not all that informed on what it takes to make this stage but I would've thought but this coming weekend it would've been up and going....?
  6. While I have yet to see this zone myself and sorry to hear the negative reviews all the costumes reminded me the problems the park had in that zone several years ago with the ladies who worked there. The costumes are really bulky similar to the Wharf from last year and I think that is something to take into consideration in the upcoming years as well that whatever is going in this area, at least for a while, will have really bulky costumes.
  7. From the general consensus I have seen from here, YouTube and other online outlets it seems like the houses of HHN 27 are overall praised. However what excites me the most especially since I won't be to the event till late October is how everyone's lists of best to worst for the houses varies drastically. Only Blumhouse is regularly marking last place in most lists but have found even a few defenders of the house. But I think that actually overall is a great thing! Having such drastic opinions on the houses is great and I think means we have a strong line up.
  8. True and fair just would've been cool to be able to interact with Ash but yea I can see why that wouldn't work overall.
  9. Heh while she was really a fun character I find her an odd choice as the representation for AvED, I hope that eventually Ash himself gets out there....but then again if this zone is all about the villians/monsters then I guess he doesn't fit but would be nice to see him.
  10. So what characters did we see here during employee preview? And I guess let's keep tabs of who else we see here throughout the event. Saw a video of the zone from Attractions Magazine on YouTube and the characters I saw were: -Bride in Black (Insidious) -Mr. Boogie (Sinister) -Statue of Liberty Purger (Purge) -Bloody Face (AHS: Asylum) -The Butcher (AHS: Roanoke) -The Twins (The Shining) Didn't see anyone from Ash vs. Evil Dead or SAW.
  11. Is the Voodoo Queen in Dead Waters the same as the one in Bayou of Blood (wearing same outfit?)?
  12. Granted this is just my thoughts but in a short answer it is a yes. I love going to theme parks for their Halloween events especially Universal and Busch Gardens because it is more than just a single haunt it truly is an event and experience. If we are comparing one single HHN house to an independent haunt then the independent haunt is more likely to win usually because they are longer, you shouldn't experience the conga lines of HHN when going through the house thus providing a more personal experience and there are many haunts with detail that can be on par with an HHN house. However you just go through the one haunt and it is done. HHN makes it a whole night and for many of us multiple nights as there are so many houses, the zones, shows, and just so much to take in that you can keep going back and find something new. If you love haunts then HHN is something you need to check off your bucket list at least once and just see for yourself. I have been going since 2008 and I live in Virginia and I make it a point each year to have an HHN fund and save and go each year and I bet when you go you'll be hooked too.
  13. Houses: 1- Ash vs Evil Dead Just finished watching both seasons and they were absolutely amazing, the perfect balance of both comedy and horror in great extremes. The show is perfect for a house adaptation and just thinking of what it could possibly be gets me super excited. I just hope it all lives up to what I have possibly envisioned in my head 'cause if it does it will be just such a fun house with such wonderful repeatability. 2- The Fallen Gothic is in my Top 3 favorite houses of all time and if this house is kinda following the same style and from a similar universe we are all in for a real treat. 3- Dead Waters While Bayou of Blood wasn't really a strong scare zone the concept and ideas behind it are there and I do enjoy the voodoo asthetic. Also the preview pics are stunning and I just envision similarities in a way to Tomb of the Ancients which I enjoyed a lot as well. 4- AHS Easily my favorite of last year and I see this year being just as strong. However it is interesting the timing as much as I have enjoyed AHS up to this point the way Cult is being advetised to me idk it just makes me ready to get off the AHS bandwagon. So I am ready for this to be my AHS swan song and I enjoyed Asylum, Coven and Roanoke and think this will be a great way to let go of this series. 5- Scarecrow Nothing initially for me to think poorly of this house but sometimes I get Roanoke: Cannibal Colony feels when looking at the preview pics and granted that is just similar asthetics but Roanoke doesn't rank highly in my memories of houses. 6- Hive Lowest anticipated original just simply due to the troubled orgins and my brand of horror is more inclined to The Fallen and Dead Waters. That aside I think this house will overcome all obsticles and still be a great house to go through. 7- Blumhouse Now the remaining houses I am slightly concerned about their outcome but we shall see! As discussed already it seems like this house has had some troubles in production and planning, however the Insidious house I have fond memories of and if it can replicate that well then I will be one happy customer. Purge def seems like a phone in but I am not mad at the idea and think it can still be pulled off well, it isn't TWD status...yet. Thus leaving Sinister for where HHN needs to invest in new props and etc. I think this house could be a lot of fun just hope it didn't all come together to little to late. 8- The Shining While the movie is fun, watched it on Netflix after the announcement I just have trouble seeing the translation to a house. I see deja vu of the Exorcist, a project/film the design team has a huge passion for and def left a mark on horror cinema but just simply doesn't translate well to a house. I would love to be proven wrong but after the Exorcist last year I am not convinced. 9- Saw Granted I'll admit I used to be into Saw when it first was coming out but over the years I got over it and I just am not mustering up any excitement over this house. I see Saw translating to a house better than the Shining but I just am not into it at all now.
  14. That is so funny I thought the exact same when I saw the photos yesterday all I could keep thinking of in my head was Roanoke Cannibal Colony, interesting!
  15. On the last episode of season 2 and yes the show was absolutely wonderful. So yea I hope whatever that rumor was of it being more about the movies is wrong the tv show deserves its own house 100%
  16. While I totally don't understand what has troubled the Blumhouse and while sure it would've been great to have gotten new properties aside from Purge and Insidious but if it has had troubles I think revisiting the Purge and Insidious seem like easy and smart ideas as in they could probably be executed well under tight construction limitations. Sure Purge doubled in the streets and a house is a bit much and we are starting to see a bit much of Purge border-lining TWD I'll give it a pass this go if we don't see it next year. While this is just Insidious' second round at Orlando so that I am okay with.
  17. Think it will be similar to 7 and Chance in Hell with stages for the "main characters" to stand on and represent the IPs?
  18. Well if it is like the forecast is saying a mash-up of Insidious, Purge and Sinister then a budget shouldn't hit this house to hard I feel...like since Insidious and Purge are returns to the event hopefully they still have a lot of stuff stored for them somewhere and can still look like a quality house and just investments in whatever is needed for Sinister? Idk, just a thought. I loved Insidious when it first came around so if they can repeat parts of that house then I would be fine and happy...however AWIL I thought I would be happy with two times around and the second time I found myself disappointed and skipping it regularly.
  19. Awwww darn, ok thanks! It seems odd to me as I thought both Jack and Chance were successful the past two years, even if Chance's house and scarezone wasn't as well received.
  20. I'm sorry I have seen it kinda discussed but no direct answer really and I know we won't get one until Universal says but what are we leaning towards in terms of Icon or no icon? Will one happen or no...?
  21. I always thought this was the reason but when I did my Unmasking tour that year the tour guide said that they went with AVP because the right holders of Alien would've been far more strict with the property and that AVP was more flexible. Granted that could've been wrong information but that is what my guide said. But while we are discussing AVP I would love another round of either Alien/Predator/AVP becuase it is my horror sweet spot that I am a sucker for and will always bite.
  22. Will have to see in person and even if ugly I always buy a house shirt...but I am conflicted 'cause thank goodness it is something other than the usual blood writing or just the plain logo from last year but...idk hahaha But the shirt def isn't really representing an icon really, any update on what we think is happening there with the icon status? Or no icon?
  23. Well darn...I didn't know it was official that we were getting another Saw film this year, have heard the rumor like every year since the last one. Well yea with a release this year I am sure we are def getting a Saw house, which is my least anticipated house of the year...Anyways! Well I think it depends if the house will be primarily based off of this movie alone or a best of situation. If just this movie then I could see it being called Jigsaw if best of then Saw: Jigsaw Legacy or something
  24. Sorry if discussed already but I am confused. How does a potential Conjuring house become a vampire house? I mean I am just asking if this situation is similar to the Scream/Purge fiasco. Because if so wouldn't it be easier to transform it to like a Dead End sequel or something?
