  1. Anyone a fan of the Phantasm movies? I think they could make for a great house. You have the little goblin creatures for your jump scares, you could have the Tall Man showing up a few times shouting BOY at you, maybe a room of the silver spheres buzzing above your head. I think there is potential for a cool house with some unique ideas, but not sure if the IP has enough fans nowadays to make it worth pursuing.

  2. URANIUM STUDIOS Not every film company has a good track record. Uranium Studios is one of those companies. Founded by a fan of schlocky b-movies, Uranium Studios (not actually radioactive, thank God) churned out many "bad" movies until its closing in the 60's, and its films have had a resurgence of interest whenever people realized just how bad they were - like, The Room bad, Santa Claus Conquers the Martians bad. And the son of the former company president just so happened to own the original building, which has been standing for a few decades now. Obviously this means one thing - studio tours. He can make a modest profit, honor his dad's legacy, what could go wrong? A group of murderous nutjobs squatting in the building. That's what. Uranium Studios takes the B-Movie mashup of Slaughter Sinema or Holidays of Horror, and takes it in a different direction - instead of entering the movies, you enter the studio. Basically, you're taken to the "historic" behind-the-scenes sets, only to have the psychos attacking in ways fitting that set. Along the way, you can actually see clips of the movies, like the screen from the Slaughter Sinema facade. ROOMS: Facade: Guests step up to the old Uranium Studios building. Under the Uranium Studios sign, is a banner offering tours, and soundtracks and voice clips from various real-world B-Movies play. They Came from The Sun!: The first movie is a story about aliens from the sun attacking Earth. We walk onto the sun set, which looks like a Brimstone Hell, except it has no cave ceiling. Several horned aliens line the way to the throne, with the King Alien sitting down, holding his Electro-Trident. Occasionally, he'll stand up and attack. The path turns at his throne, going off to the side. (Movie Clip: The heroes fight off the alien soldiers, only for the king to walk up, force his men to stop, and prepare to finish off the heroes himself. It cuts as he lunges his trident at them.) Voodoo Castle: Guests enter a castle set, where several props are going off, in an attempt to make it look like a bunch of rowdy poltergeists are throwing a party. A Voodoo zombie will emerge from the bookcase, and another hides in a suit of armor near the exit of the set. (Movie Clip: After a shot of the castle, a detective is in the ghostly madhouse, trying to shoot the poltergeists to death. The first zombie sneaks up behind him, and proceeds to strangle him.) WEIRD WOODS: The next set is a forest full of fake trees. A civilian is being strangled by a set of animatronic branches, and some psychos wearing tree-people costumes (Burlap robes over pantyhose with tree bark adhered to it as "skin") will attack from behind the trees with axes. (Movie Clip: A woman is running from the branch tentacles, while a high-pitch, laugh-like buzzing can be heard. She happens upon the corpses of a few lumberjacks, before being attacked by the tree-people.) Dr. Indigo and The Abominations of Atlantis: The Dr. Indigo series were Uranium's movie serials. Starring adventure archeologist Dr. Indigo and his girl of the week, he'd go around the world, fighting weird beasts in the name of treasure. The first set has a man in Indigo's outfit being pulled apart by a pair of giant octopi animatronics with piranha faces. The second is an Atlantian throne room, where a dummy of the high priest stands, threatening to send someone to the Abominations. Surrounding him are Fishmen, some of whom will attack. (Yes, it's the Mole Men but in Atlantis.) (Movie Clip: The high priest has Indigo and his dame captured. He sentences her to the abominations, who start to attack her. Indigo tries to stop them, but the fishmen start to fight him off.) She-Beast of Highwayman's Peak: The next set is a rocky mountain, covered in bones. The snarling, howling, and barking of canines (Dogs, wolves, coyotes) can be heard, as the She-Beast in a humanish form rips the meat off of a femur. As guests exit the set, lightning will flash and a more wolfish She-Beast will lunge from an outcrop. (Movie Clip: A hunter finds the She-Beast eating a deer he killed, and asks what the hell she's doing. She then stares at him, before turning into her wolfperson form and attacking.) SPIDERS!: The next set is a cave full of cobwebs, complete with some string that brushes against your face so you feel like you're getting it on you. No scaracters here, just a giant, hissing, roaring spider above you. (Movie Clip: A woman gets caught up in a web, and the spider approaches. Her husband can only watch as the spider (in shadow) cocoons her, before turning to him.) Attack of the Atomic Apparition: Guests pass by a blank white room where a dummy wearing the monster suit (a black haz-mat suit with opaque white visor) stands - except it's not a dummy, but a psycho who lunges at guests. In the next room, there is a screen with the previous set's footage, color-inverted, plays, and guests enter a lab set. A psycho will emerge from a radioactive material canister. (Movie Clip: A man in a hazmat suit is locked in the canister and dies, while other scientists can only watch in horror. After the Hazmat guy kicks it, his phantom phases out of the canister and attacks. Secondary Footage: Color-inverted footage of the ghost attacking, before being spliced into the normal footage.) LAST STAND OF THE GODS: Guests enter a set filled with fog, where Psychos dressed like Zeus and Odin attack with a rebar lighting bolt and a sword, respectively. Near the end of the scene, a zombified Anubis will claw at guests. (Movie Clip: Zues, Odin, and Thor are fighting the zombified pantheons on Mount Olympus. Anubis grabs Thor and drags him off.) Finale: Guests pass by a private theater showing all the previous movie clips. The seats are filled with corpses, and as guests make their way to the screen, a psycho calling himself Propmaster rips his way through, chainsaw in hand.

  3. I haven't seen Slasher, definitely have to put it on my watchlist definitely seems interesting. As for Leprechaun, I mean I don't see Universal really tackling the series, I mean unless they did something original with it maybe but I honestly see My Bloody Valentine getting more of a shot at HHN again than anything. Since the remake made an appearance the Silver Screams house, the original and also The Strangers and Shaun Of The Dead that were featured in the same house should definitely be given their due as well. I would love to see it, but it's wondering if they'd do it for the anniversary year, it'd be awesome for them to do it for that year than this year, it would also hopefully allow them to bring back some of the originals from the past to return to the certain locations, and if we still had Bill & Ted they could have them return to the unused stadium next to Marvel Super Hero Island while AOV or whoever takes over the Fear Factor Live stage. But then again I feel like we might be at Universal only for a while, I don't think they wanna take any chances. Silence Of The Lambs definitely deserves to be at the event, I wonder what is holding them back, maybe other companies or something but whatever the case, I hope they can find a way to conjure up an idea and bring it to the event at last and the new Child's Play has many mixed reviews, I mean I always with the original Chucky but I'm willing to see where they go with the new Chucky and if they make the maze to see how they could do it differently than the maze they did back in 2009. Happy Death Day 2 U I feel might end up with Hollywood hopefully and we get something else, I hope this year marks no Horrors Of Blumhouse or no, I mean either or, anything that could be a little better than last years' repetitiveness. If they were to do a Blumhouse street, of course, the only film series they will only use will be Purge since the new tv series had been on the USA Network and I think is prepping for a second season or something. I could see another Purge street experience which is not bad, I mean hoping they add more effects and characters, maybe something from The First Purge and mixing it with the Show, I mean if that works out I guess. I mean after seeing the Mermaid scene in Scary Tales last year lol, it seems like a hit but it might be a long stretch and a little too much for Universal to really stomach in making it happen.

  4. Random this wouldn’t happen again. But what if HHN did IOA again? Seuss Lansing and Potter May block it. But since Seuss’s widow passed away last year it would be interesting

  5. I never saw that scene as a true attempt to “cry” on the phone. That was a manipulation move, and was acted perfectly for those of us who have seen it in action in real life. She wasn’t really crying. She was pretending to cry to get her sister to do what she wanted. To keep this HHN related: Original scarezones will always be better than IP zones in my opinion.

  6. Wait, not to derail, but why the hate on Magnet? The Signal, Splinter, and TimeCrimes were all incredible films in the genre. I wish they had been better at marketing them, but I think those always would have been niche movies. And it's not like Blum is ever picking up anything as ambitious as any of those efforts anyways.

  7. Been going through my Horror collection recently and rewatched alot of Classics and more recent films. I rewatched SOTL and I can see it being at the event this year more then ever. There are some good scenes they can replicate even though it might be tough. If Either SOTL or Child's play (2019) is present at the event this year in anyway, one basically confirms the other. Pretty sure they are on alright terms with Orion so it opens the door. Watched Happy Death Day 2U and I just hope to god they realize that it will not make for a good house even if there are some alright scenes in that movie. I still hate the movie and it makes me hate Blumhouse more then I already did. If they do that better be the only Blumhouse property. Unless we are getting Halloween 2018 (which I really doubt) I agree with a Blumhouse street, why the hell not. Im worried about Scare zones this year.... I have no clue what Properties would make good Streets besides a Blumhouse one. I feel like they rely on Blumhouse to much sometimes tho. Anyway, I need a house announcement, im dying over here.

  8. Halloween ‘18 is a good movie.. not the best. But when you consider the horror junkyard we get today it’s really good. Halloween 5 and the ‘09 sequel remake were major trainwrecks. Halloween 5 makes waiting at the dmv feel pleasant. ‘09 sequel remake is like a really bad ecstasy trip that was made by some 40 year old virgin. But back to horror nights, Michael May return this year. But we”ll see.. IPs only two are likely. Originals would be newbies and sequels.2020 will probably focus on the anniversary stuff.

  9. Still avoiding spoilers, but I present three properties that need to eventually come! My Bloody Valentine (1981) - Would make a GREAT house! It's simple: Ya got a creepy mine, really good kills, and an unsettling miner killer! Leprechaun - This would make for a great comedy house. Plus it could also get pretty freaky with Leprechaun himself. Slasher - A fantastic who-done-it anthology show on Netflix. Season 1 can be skipped since it wouldn't make for a great house, but Season 2 would be perfect! Plus ya got Season 3 coming very soon, so this year would be perfect!

  10. I think we would get Universal original monster house/ maze this year or next for thirty years. I prefer this year while I am still employee with the company, hopefully can do filing role for that house. I love wolfman and frankenstein's monster despite being too short. I just saw Happy Death 2u, I seen some active scene during a haunt. ( lab death, gym backstage, hopsital scene again, ) I feel like this is going to be apart of 2019 house. if not maybe blumhouse street. I feel they could get way with blumhouse street. purge tv, maybe purge film, happy death day baby killer, maybe if possible get out character? or us character? or hulu pokah character? I love creepy pokah character.

  11. Guys....I don't understand what you're talking about with the F&F hate. My wife and I rode it last year for the first time, and had a blast cracking up with the two dudes seated beside us. We weren't sure how to take it at first until I asked out loud, "Why is Vin Diesel the same size as that helicopter?" From there on out, we couldn't stop laughing.

  13. I quite enjoyed AoV. I’m not really into dance shows but it was entertaining and fun. Plus was a nice break from the horrah. Too much of the same thing lessens the impact, so it’s good to have a breather. Having said that, did it work as well in the theatre? Nowhere near. The good thing about AoV on the streets was you could dip in and out of the show, dance along and really get involved with the show. Personally id like to see another kind of show this year, with AoV on the streets again. It’s important to offer alternatives to the houses. Not all people like the houses and went because of the atmosphere and the shows. I think we often forget on here that we are a small population of the total that went to HHN and you need to cater for everyone, not just us.
