  1. Froopy Land just kinda looks like one to me. I realized they were talking about Clue 3, so I was gonna edit to apologize and then I also started thinking pink is a lighter shade of red which is the color of blood which is in the name Bloody Mary where they had a Scary Tales house which I’ve been thinking about...maybe Froopy Land is Oz. Edit: @mystiquephreeq was talking about something that was in a house, but not it’s own (The Wizard of Oz was in Scary Tales) and a SZ (The Path of the Wicked, Scary Tales: Screampunk) so maybe it’s a version of The Wizard of Oz??

  2. That sounds frickin amazing!! I'd so be down for it! Yes forgot Jack and Jill was the original thought, which morphed and later became Jack and Chance...who is "the master" is that something that later became puppet master in Singapore? Terra Queen in my head counts enough as an icon, but i see your technicality. Fate later became lady luck, so it was used sort of...I was just trying to look at unused things we know. All are great though, I love going through the history!!

  3. “The original idea for the icon this year would have been ‘The Evil Queen’, the concept would have heavily geared the event towards mocking their mousy neighbour. There was even discussions of a house called ‘Unmagic Kingdoms’ where various familiar attractions had gone awry” and there you have it!

  4. The poppies that knock everyone out in Oz are poisonous, too. ”And now, my beauties, something with poison in it, I think. With poison in it, but attractive to the eye, and soothing to the smell. Poppies...poppies. Poppies will put them to sleep.”

  5. A version of OZ would be great!! I think an HHN Maze would follow a darker tone like Emerald City, which was a show on NBC...unfortuantely it was cancelled (i liked it) so doubt a connection to it would even matter.

  6. I really hope clue 3 is for a theme park gone wrong sort of house and I kind of hope it is more Itchy and Scratchy than Westworld. A bit more cartoonish. I was thinking clue 5 might be something like Saws N Steam, what with the automated blade, Rick's robot arm and the words in the third part, but those words may not matter, so I'm likely incorrect.

  7. So could this be Clue 5? I actually watched the episode and it all sorta sounds like someone creating their own world to escape reality? And then there were the theories of Beth being a clone, maybe it’s someone making clones that snap (it’s funny that Blade Runner was actually mentioned in that episode). Or maybe something to do with missing kids that end up in a twisted type of theme park that ends up all being imaginary?? Edit: sorry, you were talking about Clue 3 NVM me!!

  8. “Jill” (who became Chance), the Master, Terra Queen (technically), Fate. In 2010 they did a whole presentation on them.

  9. I was re-reading the excellent HHN book by Chris Ripley last night to get a feel for the original dead exposure, where there was a note to say that in that year, one original concept didn’t get off the ground as they changed the icon. It was called “un-magic kingdom”, and would have essentially been a theme park gone wrong. This sounds like a great concept, and I could see it fitting quite nicely with the R&M clue set 3.

  10. You forgot something I emphasized. ”Sometimes it’s not about the words at.”

  11. Hell, Poison could even be codeword for another Alice Cooper house, with Poison being one of his biggest hits

  12. To be fair, that could also be Creepshow.

  13. I agree it’ll definitely be sinister, clearly I’m going down with this Blade Runner ship and guessing maybe the wizard is some kind of evil toymaker and the tin man, cowardly lion, scarecrow, et al were his creations that go ape when Dorothy gets there? Or maybe they’re Dorothy’s creations? I don’t know, but if it’s the correct answer then I’m excited to see where they take it! Also, I haven’t seen it since I was a child but I remember slightly that Return to Oz (I know it’s Disney) was a weird, creepy 80’s version of it I wonder if they’d style it similarly??

  14. Words per line. It was 4:2:2. Convert that to 4:22. Normally I'd let you figure all that out, but we've got one day to go until the reveal anyway. A clip show of things you haven't seen before... or whatever it said.

  15. How? Legacy specifically said it relates to word count.

  16. So I went through many pages on the IU forum a couple of hours ago but since the clues are here I'm taking a shot at Clue 5. Things we know: 5 is an original The code name is Poison Things I think I know: I could have sworn I read somewhere Run was a good guess Part 1: Shall we resume the stabbing? Potentially a sequel? Part 2: Someone was focussing on the beer but I think the giveaway is Stone Cold Steve Austin. Now this is where I have 2 WILDLY different theories. Theory 1 is my original theory. Theory 2 came to as I wrote this out Theory 1 - Steve Austin was in a movie called the Condemned about a Deathrow Prisoner Battle Royale. The 3rd Gif (You are now prisoners) makes me think we're getting a Hellgate Sequel. Theory 2 - this one's a little out there. The Wikipedia page for the Condemned says Steve Austin's name in the film is John Conrad. Joseph Conrad is the writer of Heart of Darkness (if you haven't read the book maybe you've seen Apocalypse Now). Gif 3 reminds me of a Heart of Darkness/ Apocalypse Now Col. Kurtz type situation

  18. Finally a new B&T movie! Wouldn't it be cool if HHN's new show was based on those characters?

  19. Honestly I just didn't find the 26 B&T show to be very funny, it felt exactly like a Seltzerberg movie--"we're acknowledging that these movies exist!" The Stranger Things and Deadpool references were particularly egregious in that regard. Once again, I'm happy that they have more budget for elsewhere. Look how good the announcements for the first two houses have been; I can't help but wonder if that's part of the increased budget they have from B&T's absence. (At least, that's how I feel, and I understand and respect those who would disagree with me.)

  20. That would be interesting. Would be neat if they could get a contract that didn't handcuff A&D. If they had to stick with the movie, it would be hard to not outright copy at least two of the scenes from the scarezone. That might not go over very well. But a house warning what happens when traditions are not respected would be really interesting. Could range from humor to fright to gore.

  21. Walking through TWD in my mind, Hollywood has about 11-12 active scareactors during the year. During HHN they add about 5 more. The house is designed such that just about any actor can move between two scare spots, so it can seem like there are more actors than there actually is. I could be off by a couple but I've been through that thing dozens of times. What is annoying about TWD in Hollywood is that they open about 90 minutes after the park opens and closes up to two hours before the park closes. It's a people eater though, and rarely has more than a 15 min wait even on peak days. Typical wait is 5 min on any given day. The simple act of announcing an original this early gets me hyped. It's the polar opposite of how I felt with last year's marketing.

  22. Damn Universal is going real quick already with announcements! Their announcements have been quite solid. I hope some stuff does happen but you might have to dream

  24. Tomorrow's announcement will possibly be for a Predator maze. They're dropping the trailer for the new movie tomorrow so that would all line up nicely.
