  1. This. "NO! We want original stories and characters. We don't want to share anything with Hollywood. Let them do IPs." "OMG!!!1!!!! SILENT HILL!!!1111!!!! THANK YOU UNIVERSAL!!!! YOU'RE BRILLIANT!!!!1!!!!!" "No Walking Dead? BOOOOOO!!!!" Next year, when it's five IP houses (and one of them is Silent Hill again), no one can complain. That will be what you asked for.

  2. Considering the house built, what would be the difference between a generic zombie house and a zombie house called The Walking Dead. Zombies are zombies are zombies. It's not like it would be the actors playing any characters that may make it to the house.

  3. Technically... you could say we know two out of the 7, but that is a completely different story. ^this makes me laugh because back when The Vault was around, videogames were always the one thing 75% of the members wanted to see brought to life at HHN. And Silent Hill was definitely at the top of the list. Thank you for providing us with lulz.

  4. Complaints about HHN & its advertising has been going on for years... it even dates back to the "Frightmares" logo of the gremlin keeping the eyelid open.... People complained about 2002's I4 Caretaker billboard with its green glowing eyes.... calling it "demonic" In 2007, parents complained about Freddy, Jason & Leatherface being on the Burger King tray liners & cups in 2008, mothers complained about the rather tame & not-so-scary Bloody Mary billboards being "too scary" & "causing their children to have nightmares", UNI's response to this complaint..... they put up MORE billboards lol I'm pretty sure there were complaints in 2009 as well... the point is... censoring the event in any form is just being weak & giving the parents more power. And i'm sorry, but there are worse things to be seen on billboards or tv than a pair of silent hill nurse boobs... just sayin. lol And this is for a HORROR event that even has a "May Not Be Suitable For Children Under 13" warning on the website. Typical Soccer Mom Reaction: "Oh hey there was another hacked & slash body on the 6'o'clock news, no big deal though. But OMGZ I CANT BELIEVE THERE IS HORROR PORN ON A HORROR EVENT'S WEBSITE! My child must not be exposed to a character's revealing outfit from a videogame i bought him for his bday last year!"

  5. Seeing as how "parents" complained a few years ago about "glorifying violence and death" with the Bloody Mary billboards around town, I can see why, if they use this for ads, they'd cover up the cleavage. Most of the visitors to the city are minors and the last thing we need are "parents" complaining about their kids seeing it on the way to Disney or WWoHP (if they took a drive down Orange Blossom Trail at night, this would be the furthest thing from their minds...).

  6. The site is essentially the same as it was last year at this time last year.On the 19th we had the update for The Thing house. There is the difference that last year we had the hand and the card as this is more of a splash screen. But neither had anything really revealed.

  7. The complaining is ridiculous. We will still get the same excellent quality of set and scare actor with our without official IP rights or not. Both of these house themes are right in line with Universal's background and expertise. I hope they do have a house and scarezone matching. The siren and fog transition would be amazing and so fun to participate in and watch.

  8. The house is built more or less. taking out the writing on the door, the title of the house, or the names of the characters isn't going to affect the house negatively. If anything is will fee Universal up to make changes they would like to make.

  9. Robbie the Rabbit. That's all I want.

  10. Ridiculous. Not that I disagree with what you're saying about how cool an overarching atmosphere is. I did love HHN18 and HHN15 for their distinctive feel. But to say that every year that DOESN'T is a let down is to deny Universal credit for the countless other things that go into an event. I don't agree that there haven't been scares in scarezones since 2008, and I think that most people feel similarly. Again, I agree that 2008 had the best zones, but I happen to think that the last two years have had some pretty cool streets (with a few duds as well, naturally). And since you phrased your comment "since 2005," where were these other years that came prior to 2005 that live up to this standard? No, the event doesn't "outdo" itself every year. But it always has the potential to. It's not on a downward trend. My favorite years are scattered all over the place. 2005, 2008, and 2010 -- respectively, the beginning, middle, and (close to) end of my years at horror nights. As far as the houses argument: Sure, the past had some great houses. Naturally, people who have been going for a long time might have more houses from their first 8-10 years going than, say, their last 2. That doesn't mean the more recent years are bad. Also -- do you realize how hard it is to compare a house that you love this year to a house that's been etched into your memory and coated with nostalgia for the last decade? Even so, if you head over to that Top 10 houses topic, you'll see plenty of recent houses like Catacombs, Hades, Dead Exposure, The In-Between, etc. etc. even on the vet's posts. But since you admit to that there have been good houses in recent years, I'm really confused as to what you're arguing. Good houses...tend to have something...people like about them? ...obviously.

  11. Still related to Silent Hill..... BUT regarding a completely different aspect... So we all know that Hollywood's event is a lot more graphic & sexualized than the Orlando event, but it seems that even with Hollywood's puppet masters pulling some of the strings this year, our event can't escape its dreaded PG rating.... HHN Hollywood's Announcement: HHN Orlando's Announcement: The event hasn't even started yet and it is already being "censored" Hint: The lack of cleavage.

  12. I'm just going to assume you've never played one of the games. And a "really disappointing year so far"? really? We know one house out of 7 and it's a really disappointing year already?

  13. Really? Says who? https://twitter.com/...935630503813121 https://twitter.com/...477106099335168 https://twitter.com/...267919788478464 From all of the comments I've seen outside of haunt forums, the house idea seems to be getting met with positive reactions. It's hilariously foolish to say people won't be interested in such a large franchise coming to the event.

  14. Have you ever played the Silent Hill games?? If you haven't then you have no room to talk. The games are great and creepy. I think its going to make a great house. It will most likely be my favorite house! I second this!

  15. No one is going to go to HHN just to do the Silent Hill house. What a waste of a house in a really disappointing year so far.

  16. I've never once complained about IP houses. I actually like them a tad bit more than original houses. I didn't try to come off as whining. I'm just a huge fan of the TV series and would love for them to incorporate the characters into the house instead of just having generic zombies. That's all I meant by my post.

  17. I'm super stoked about SH but hopefully it will be strictly video game based, like they said, rather thran movie. The movie does the game absolutely no justice. Upon speculation of Pyramid Head, I doubt he's going to "jump" out at you like everybody else. Probably just a light or two on him with minimal movements, stilts or just a walk forward type of thing. We dont need anybody poking peoples eyes out like Cats and Combs.

  18. Like has been stated in many posts previously; As much as we say the event would be lackluster without one thing or another, we will all have an amazing time. Losing TWD signature and having it become "Generic farm zombie house" would seem like a heavy loss but all in all I really don't think anyone on this forum is enough of a brand whore to say that it sucked simply because we *didn't* have the trademark characters or names.

  19. Like anyone will notice if the sheriff is Rick or just a sheriff. It's a moot point to have the actually characters represented as they rearely talk in the houses (or say peoples names for that matter) and I doubt you will find anyone who looks just like the characters.

  20. i was thinking, IF we get a silent hill street in new york, what if every 10 to 15 min the siren goes off and they use the projectors to change the buildings like we were entering the dark world like they did last year with acid assault building crumble
