Freak
Discuss all reviews for the Texas Chainsaw Massacre house here. Was the recreation of the legendary incident as horrifying as the previous one we all know and love, or is it just another maze that we all saw before? JGmoney1996
I am incredibly saddened by the news that TCM wasn't detailed and didn't live up to expectations. I was hoping this year would be the perfect year, and surprisingly, TCM was the only maze I wasn't worried about. Turns out it's the only one I should have worried about all along.

Kurseddragon
They can't have real chainsaws inside an enclosed maze for safety reasons. I'm thinking that might be why. Though, idk what they did 07/08.

Kurseddragon
that had an area of the maze that was literally outside i think it was the sheet part which let them use a real chainsaw Well, I assume they're not doing that this year, so there's the problem (more than likely). Unless they are doing that this year in which they have no excuse.

HHNGuy1
I think the chainsaw noise is fixed. Or I just dreamed it.
DTH316
Had to be fixed. They were loud and aggressive, just as they were in the 07/08 houses. Just the maze didn't have the same tone, so it lacked a certain scare factor, but the maze is still really good.
Hauntfan
^I walked through alone at around 12:50. And let me tell you, I don't get scared, but going through this maze with no one in front or behind (for some reason) with some pitch black sections, I was close to getting scared... DTH316
How did you manage going through alone when the line was longer than an hour at that time? haha
Hauntfan
^Group in front was going slow the whole time, so we were backed up in the first room. But then they wouldn't move so we passed them and we were way behind anyone else in the maze, and they slowed down the people behind them because they were walking at a snail's pace. It was pure luck, but it was AWESOME!
DTH316
As good of an experience as that may have been, this shows how bad line control was last night haha. To go through alone on a Friday, opening night nonetheless, is just not supposed to happen haha.
Hauntfan
^I know. I felt bad for line control though. They were yelling "Keep the line moving" but they wouldn't go. Ever! It really irked me for the first rooms before I passed them. They just wouldn't frickin' listen. I mean, how scared can you really be, right? kingundisputed_
I went through this yesterday and was impressed. The dining room scene and the gas station were really well done.
AsylumSB
Loved this maze! Impressed even after multiple trips. Just like the original film, they kept the story simple and straight forward. Even when the line backed up, there were multiple scares going on as soon add you entered the dining scene. Don't know why but grandpa kept going after me....the old coot! Hee hee. Kreepshowtosh
I felt that it was challenging to keep the same tone the original did. The original film was very gritty and made seem real and made the definition of 'horror' and its hard to replicate that feeling in a haunted house. And I felt that it was hard for the actors in the maze to even replicate the way the actors from the original were. The actors in the original ma kes you feel as if they really are crazy in real life. The maze was last minute and the setting seemed a bit toned down. The scent in there was just awful and they used it in the ENTIRE maze. The scares were also predictable. So, compared to the one in 2007 and this one, I preferred the terrifying experience I had in the '07 maze. It's just sad when you think about it, a remake version beats the original version. Well, at least, since we finally got a maze based on a Tobe Hooper film, hopefully they might do a maze based on another Tobe Hooper film, "The Funhouse."
