  1. Thanks for taking the time to write at review - very enjoyable read. Glad you ended up going and enjoyed the event!
  2. No worries. Hope you are feeling better soon. Everyone is getting sick, there is something going around! Regarding '09, yeah I too wasn't a fan of those scarezones and most of the houses, but had a blast and really enjoyed everything anyway -- actually one of my fav years because of the people I was with and the couple scares I had. Just depends on how you look at things. Someone said they didn't like the Poe house as opposed to the above review - opinions, personality, situation, mood. Whatever you end up doing, hope you get over the cold, make it to the event and have a great time. Check out some more reviews here: http://hhnrumors.com/forum/index.php?/topic/556-employee-preview-sept-21-2011/ WESKER69 (Chris) can be a bit though on the preview and he didn't think it was that bad. In the end, just do what you like
  3. This was a just preview of the event and the answer to your question is... Proof? Watch the below clip and realize people pay upwards for 40-50 bucks for that event and think the event is awesome. And yes, most of these walkthroughs we see are near/at completion and yes most of the houses just look like plywood even when it's dark(I've been to the event and they actually reuse some houses each year): http://www.youtube.com/user/knottsberryfarm?blend=7&ob=5#p/u/0/5wgUrz8yqV4 Now watch the inside of what some are saying is one of the "worst" houses at HHN this year -- an event BTW where a resident like yourself can go for as cheap as 45 bucks and even go to the first three weeks as much as you want for 70: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLVITYw1q4w Now thank the people at HHN for doing what they do, have fun and enjoy life:)
  4. Hmmm, all these cast names might just be placeholders by Uni meant to confuse based on the visible van in the construction pics. CARny could just be another play on words relating to cars meant to further confuse us and the house has nothing to do with a chop/body shop in overall theme.
  5. Mentioned this in construction thread, but the Disaster house could be a play on words with cars and be called: The Body Shop Kind of like how Leave it to Cleaver's butcher shop was kind of a front to use humans for meat, the Body Shop would seem like a place to get your car fixed on the outside, but it's really a place to collect your body on the inside -- sort of like a gory Run type house theme inside. I don't see this idea fitting in to an overall theme of fear through ages, but would go along with the idea of mostly new house concepts.
  6. Van, mechanic role, your thought about an "unknown BODY SHOP". Maybe a play on words and a house called Body Shop?
  7. Clever use of twisting the term "arts and crafts", but it probably has another meaning. However, that other meaning has already been discussed A LOT in the past, so I'll make it brief-- During the BehindtheThrills.com conference calls with HHN creative last year TJ Mannarino used the term "scrapbook" in describing this year's event. TJ again used the term "scrap book of years past" at this year's Haunt Con. Scrapbooking is a type of arts & crafts and what do we scrapbook? We scrapbook our lives with our families and friends = the tree with the term "root of all evil" shown at Haunt Con. Family tree? Which may point to making the icons all connect somehow, if not via hereditary ties then they are connected as the "root(s) of all evil"... which MIGHT bring about a character like Darkness as the father of all evil and probably not Cindy. While the current HHN site is a placeholder as used in past, it does say "A new era of DARKNESS".... the last time Darkness was around was at HHN 16, a reunion year. There's some fun reading out there on all previous hints from creative that have added fire to these 20th year speculations. 8. Aside from C_D being serious or not, CrazyDave is right in it being an actual reunion year and you CAN give some credit towards what MJR has said about this year. Per MJR's resume: http://www.jmichaelroddy.com/Roddy/Resume.html While it's possible that Universal made major changes since MJR left, the development process would (most likely) not stray too far from overall concepts from when he was on board. MJR himself has said in interviews (don't have link off top of head) that each year is planned out years in advance, so that each year builds on a theme/story some way -- like '05 through'07 (when MJR started) was one story cycle and '08 through '10 is another story/development cycle....will try to find interview stating this. That said, things do change as this is a business and MJR is no longer with Universal, but it seems financially more responsible for Universal to use MJR's thus successful/bankable concepts as they were planned ahead of time and worst case, change/water down ideas to save even more money. To add credibility to this idea, MJR's resume states "Developed Halloween Horror Nights 2010". When MJR's next employer checks background references for his next job -- it would look pretty bad for MJR to put "Developed Halloween Horror Nights 2010" on his resume and then have his new boss call to check references at Universal and be informed that his input was not used in this years event. It says "Developed Halloween Horror Nights 2010", not developed concepts/early creative drafts of HHN. So, if MJR has stated(or not stated in that video) that they already developed for this year... there is a good chance what MJR literally hinted at (in the actual '09 event scare zone and interviews) will probably happen in some way. Don't think the shadows of the past will become just a shadow....
