That's not unusual at all. You'll be surprised how easy going / unorganized the tours can be when you get there I'm sure that they show up as whoever bought the tickets + guests. Like if your father bought 4 tickets, it will be Him +3. Last year I was going to do the tours by myself (my regular group of friends have decided the tours are too expensive) but then we had a HHN Virgin go with us last year who wanted to do it, so he bought his ticket the day before the tour. When we got there, he asked if they could make sure he could be in my group so they just crossed his name out on the list, and wrote in a +1 next to my name and there were no problems. We're both going again this year and I bought both our tickets and it didn't ask for names for them either.

1. Krampus (My most anticipated house ever) 2. Tomb of the Ancients ("Crown Jewel" is enough for me, were it not for Krampus, would be #1 based on A&D's excitement) 3. Exorcist (Really excited to see how they do the interpretations) 4. Chance (Yup, I'm that guy that loves 3D houses) 5. Halloween II (Love Michael Myers...would be really interesting if they actually did III in a couple years with no Myers) 6. TCM (Love the movie, just having trouble getting too excited for the house) 7. Ghost Town (Teaser video was awesome, but hasn't clicked with me yet) 8. AHS (Never watched the show, will give it a shot if/when they announce which season(s) is/are featured) 9. TWD (Gonna love the sets and scenery, the characters will be pretty blah, might get some good scares when I'm checking the sets for easter eggs) 10. Repository (Could move way up...but I get virtually tummy on "fake" rides like The Simpsons and Spider-Man, not sure I'm going to give this a shot or not - I might puke all over the rest of my group)

I saw someone last year that had what looked to be a horizontal tripod with no interaction with the ground. Didn't have a gyro like a steadycam, but it was on some weird mounted sliding bar. BUT, as I've stated many times, if you're not doing Stay and Scream all bets are off with security. Some will let you through with a suitcase, others won't let you through with a change purse. You never know...

Maybe the guy who posted a week or two ago that he heard something of a 10th house wasn't so crazy after all....the house just happened to be Virtual.

Went from being upset it wasn't a Chance house...to mad it was a dance troupe....to intrigued....to planning out how I wanted to watch them from dead center to get the full effect in a course of a couple days. REALLY looking forward to their show now! And for anybody that says they're not scary/horror enough...look at Bill and Ted

Not true. It's a MOVIE theme park. Now that Disaster has closed, off the top of my head I can only think of one ride that isn't IP related: Rip Rocket. I think every other ride in Universal is IP related. I could be wrong, so let's just be safe and say 90% of the attractions are IP related. And Jimmy Fallon and Fast & Furious are both IPs coming soon...and all the Nintendo stuff coming soon is IP related. It's what sets Universal apart from all the other themeparks. Sure, Disney has their movie related stuff and are greatly expanding it with Avitar and Star Wars lands, and Great Adventure has agreements with DC Comics, but it's still what Universal does. You come to "Live the movies" so I don't see why everybody thinks that they're going to run out of material. Look at the last few years, Excorcist, TCM, Halloween, & Halloween II alone are probably close to a cumulative 100 years old. So it's not like there is any shortage of IPs to draw upon and do. I'd argue the most anticipated house this year is some little movie that made $42m at the boxoffice and they are a dime a dozen each year. If you go all IP what sets you apart from HOS? Yes, production value and rides....but said rides are all IPs. I've never been there and am not disparaging it in any way, shape or form. But the fact that all my friends and I have been going to HHN for over a decade and have NEVER made it an hour away to HOS shows the power of IPs. It's the IPs that drive the park and event and are at the core of it's success! It's like why are so many movies are sequels...because it's a known quantity and people will show up. (Yes, I know, this year the sequels are having a rough year at the box office) Look at recent movie franchises and compare the original to the sequel. The "known quantity" aspect is worth a fortune that no amount of creativity, marketing, etc can make up for. It's brand recognition. It's why companies like Scion go out of business because nobody cares about them, but they incorporate their line of cars under the established Toyota brand and they sell like hotcakes. The event isn't in ANY kind of trouble any time soon. Look at all of us that bitch and complain about the crowds and lines and ticket price increases yet still go. They aren't going to buck a trend that has made the event EXPLODE In popularity since the first decade or so that they went all/predominantly originals. It's a business. A business is going to do what's successful for them. Lamborghini isn't going to switch to all gas economical cars because that's what the competition is doing. Nike wasn't going to make plastic shoes when Crocs were all the rage. Movado isn't making fitbits. When you have a recipe for success that bucks all trends, brand recognition, and continues to be successful....you've hit the jackpot and you'd be INSANE to go against it. I know us hardcore fans love original content...but you can't sacrifice what the masses want to placate the few (already guaranteed sales) and expect to survive in a capitalistic society. PS - don't worry, my menstrual cycle is almost over so I'll stop bitching soon

1. Warf 2. Vamp 1955 3. Chance 4. Banshee 5. Survive or Die Of course, I love them all and can't believe Survive or Die is my least anticipated...but can't justify knocking anything else down either. It looks to be the biggest scare zone, has 3 groups of people, and if Gambit's spec is correct has 3 distinct alleys. Could make for a very interesting zone, but the descriptions of the other ones are just too well written and really paint a picture that I can't wait to see.

***Start Bitching*** Ohhhhh, the humanity!!!!!! How dare they (potentially, we don't know the details yet) tell you to put the glasses on and off! Like how dare they make you put glasses on for Terminator...or Shrek...Or Spider-Man...etc. They should make them all one giant ride so we don't have to do be burdened with putting on glasses, and taking them off. It's bad enough I have sunglasses that I have to take off when I go indoors, but to make me do it in a house is unbearable! Nevermind that the glasses aren't some magic prescription lens that will damage your eyes if you leave them on when the black lights aren't on. Are you seriously complaining about that? LEAVE THEM ON THE WHOLE HOUSE. I'm sure you're eyes will survive the 3 minutes that the glasses are on. Or, better yet, don't go in it. I love 3D houses. Why? They're unique and they're fun and I get to see, at most, one per year. I can go see 3D movies and I have a 3D TV at home, but the house isn't that kind of 3D...it's a completely different and entertaining type. It's a type that can do optical illusions with black light that are impossible for real people to be able to do otherwise. It makes the most disorienting environments that can put you on edge more than any other kind of ambiance. I can't believe how many people are upset that they have the most successful and popular Horror TV show in history at the park every year and that somehow is ripping them off...and then people that complain that the house, they know nothing about, is somehow lessened by it being a 3D house. Nobody is forcing you to go to the event...nor is anybody forcing you to go through this house...or put on the glasses...or take them off. ***End Bitching***

All the original content sounds REALLY strong this year. The trailers for the 2 originals have me hoping both are on the UTH Tours...which I doubt since they'll have to include the Icon house. The human marionettes idea sounds amazing...especially in a 3D house where they can "hide" parts of the scaractors body with black clothing, making the marionettes look really disjointed and tied together. Survive or Die will probably have the Scary Tales: ScreamPunk machine piece thing as the "machine". Dead Man's Wharf better crank the fog machines up to 11. Vamp 1955 is a mean tease talking about a parade that everybody wants to come back to HHN. Sounds like it will be a series of "floats" that serve as set pieces with generic greasers walking around doing scares. Based on the initial reveal, this is probably the most excited I've been for Original Content like a decade. As for the IP lineup....they have Krampus, that's all that matters. Everything else is just gravy

So the bell sounds like it will ring a couple times in the house as you'll jump in and out of reality? I was figuring it would be a single change half way through and involve the vomit tunnel. I'd still imagine it shows up in the house....and the tunnel in 3D is just awesome.

Do hospital themes thrill you? No, then you'll probably hate Halloween II. Are little girls in peril your thing? No, then you'll probably hate Exorcist. Do you like Christmas movies? No, then you'll surely hate Krampus. Do hillbilly incest stories bore you? No, you love them? Oh, OK, then you'll love Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Do you not like Lady Ga Ga's music? Then AHS will surely make your blood boil. (I've never watched the show, just know she's on it and it illustrates my point) Do Zombies....wait, scratch that one...they pretty much bore everybody at this point. To condemn a house based on a vague theme is the dumbest thing I've ever heard....well, almost as dumb as condemning an event because the Icon was female. Never forget that "A butcher shop" and "World War II Nurses" turned out to be 2 of everybody's favorite houses ever.

Someone has to say it... 10th house? Dual Run house!?!?!? No? OK, let's move on. Regarding the billboard...don't they usually do multiple ones? It works just fine for promoting the big IP houses. Krampus isn't on there as it "only" made $42M so the number of people that went to see it is a drop in the pan compared to the tickets sold for TCM and Exorcist or the cumulative number or watches for AHS and TWD. I'd expect other versions that are more Chance based. There's only so much detail you can put in an advertisement designed to be seen driving down the road at 55mph. It does it's job and there will (should) be Chance specific ones elsewhere.

Awesome, glad all the houses are out there now... though Universal isn't sweating this at all. Us 1%-ers might know, but the 99%/GP still have no idea. So unless we were to start an Occupy HHN's Privacy movement, no harm, no foul I started watching AHS about a month ago on Netflix when the rumors first started solidifying...but wanted to strangle the redhead with the bang snaps and then about 10min into the show when Dillon McDermott...or Dermont Mulroney (always get those two confused) showed up and had to punch out because I can't stand him. Guess it's time to give it another shot

I know we only know one original (shoulda added Cobweb to the poll since I think a lot of people are super excited about it)...but still love how everybody complains about IPs and then IPs currently have 94% of the votes

My guess would be a standing scareactor and a puppeted body (or a mechanical one with just an internal spinning drum with a bar coming out for the very end of the tail). It would be the perfect eye candy to distract everybody as they go through the room and allow for easy jump scares....and the scareactor, with no real mobility, would just do an "uncross his arms and boo scare" and then go back to crossing their arms and rhythmically swaying.

Or, the fact that he said the chainsaw SZ would be something "you would never expect". Santa at a Halloween event with a chainsaw would be pretty unexpected...
