  1. Or it could just be nothing. Just a horror fan working for Universal that was working on something for HHN that they were proud of and made a Psycho reference. Like if on Friday April 29th some guy put up a "TGIF!!!" post with a picture of Jason. Or had a rough week at work and posted "I earned it!" and had a picture of the Slaughtered Lamb Pub from American Werewolf in London because they were going out for drinks. Horror fans making horror references does not a reveal make
  2. As others have said, you'll probably just have multiple rooms in the house be the same bedroom, possibly from different points of view. Asylum in Wonderland (I think) had this...I sure as hell didn't notice, until I went on the BTS Tour and not only saw the two hospital rooms but had it pointed out that one was before and after changing dimensions or whatever. You'll probably go into a room with the vomiting scene, then another one with the head spinning scene, etc. I HOPE it's a fake body with a "turntable" type thing with a scareactor kneeling on it with her able to trigger it as she wants. It can't be spinning non-stop of course... Unless they do what I HOPE they don't do, which is to have it be an animatronic dummy with a spinning head that will probably look as bad as the infamous "truck zombies". Or, maybe a hybrid gag with real person, then a bright strobe followed by 4 sec of darkness where they swap in the spinning head thing. Then a bright strobe > darkness to cover that back up and have the live scareactor. One of the gags that you'd probably only catch every 4th time through our something. That will probably have to be a puppet/animatronic as I don't think any person could do it for more than a minute at a time and more than a few times per shift. That could work pretty well if they have the strobes in full effect. Less so if there aren't strobes. Or maybe they'll bring my favorite thing, the image projection technology from Acid Assault, into a house and project it onto a wall/screen on a staircase. Or maybe a mirror gag with miniatures like Gothic where you see it happening through a "window" or something. I think is the hardest one to pull off.
  3. 2 More pics of "Cobweb" on the official twitter page. Looks like something medieval or gothic. (I'm a twittidiot...don't use twitter or understand it. Feel free to edit/repost/delete this if there's a better way to put in their pics!)
  4. OK, since nobody else bit, I'll ask the obvious question....Are you hearing rumors of someone returning to usher us around the event? I vaguely remember someone leaving a message on a prop on the last day of HHN that they'd see us in 26 or something like that.
  5. One could argue, based on a made up word, that both houses announced so far are requels. We already had a TCM house (I know, not based on the original), Leatherface probably showed up in some way shape or form in another house or scarezone, and the Exorcist has been at the event at least 4 times in some capacity. The first TCM house was based on the remake/re-imagining of the house we're getting this year. So a "requel" could be fit in perfectly there. Or, it could be a Purge house. I know some have speculated that there wouldn't be a Purge house this year, but if there were, it really wouldn't be a sequel as the first house wasn't based on either of the first two movies, it was just a "based on". My hope though, is he's talking about Ash vs Evil Dead. They had an Evil Dead house before, but like TCM, was based on a remake that didn't have Ash in it at all (well, post credits he popped up).
  6. Better not mean anything for Rush of Fear because I basically head down the same time and will be pissed if I get less than 4 days in with my RoF+Express!
  7. If it does, anybody who does the UTH Tour (if it includes that house) needs to wear a similar hat and bring a bag/suitcase/something that seems similar in silhouette and have their picture taken like this. PhotoShop could take care of the fog and turn down the brightness
  8. Uggggh, queue up a vomit smell for that room. ...for at least the first weekend when it causes several drunks to puke in the middle of the house and they get rid of it Fine by me as I'm one of those people who feel nauseous just from the smell alone myself.
  9. Ha ha ha - I'll defend that scare zone in that in theory / on paper / in a vacuum it was a great idea. I thought it would be awesome when I heard about it before I went to the event. However, in execution, it was just TERRIBLE. But I give them credit for trying out such a novel idea that sounded great in theory. You don't know what's going to happen until you try it. I hope they sorta/maybe/kinda try it again, but in a different way. Back in the first or second year I went they had a chainlink maze (not house, but a real maze) set up somewhere. Jack was up in a tower yelling insults at you and stuff like that. If they did something like that (I know, there's nowhere they can do it now) with multiple paths and screens up so you couldn't see around the corners and people were there to scare you, that could be cool. Or some kind of sheer fabric that you coudln't see through, but scareactors on the other side could. It couldn't be in the streets not only for obvious reasons, but it would be a huge bottleneck and would be a stampede of people trying to get through. But if they had a wide open area that they could put it in I think it would be interesting and hopefully not super busy as many people would hopefully not go off the beaten path. I think that's what they were really trying to do...but having it in a street and not wanting the bottleneck problems, they had to do it in a way that just didn't work and wasn't really a constricting maze, but rather someone closing a gate that made you have walk around it.
  10. Since it's based off the original and a bucket list project...I think you MIGHT find a coat hanger and lighter sitting on a table...or some smashed records on a table....or Dennis Hopper's hat on a bed post, but that's probably as close as we'll get to anything from 2. A slight nod, but nothing explicitly from the sequels. Been a while since I saw 2...I think Chop Top had a toupe too, maybe see that laying around somewhere. Actually, there will probably be a family photo with everybody from 2 hidden in such a way you can't possibly see it or know about it unless you do the Unmasking the Horror tours. Ha ha ha.
  11. Entire park of The Purge characters. That could be interesting. I didn't go the all TWD year so I have no point of reference for that, but having different SZs around the Purge Trilogy could be interesting. Like an area that is the lawn area from the first one, then one that is the house. Then from the second one have general area, bread truck zone, and then a shootout zone. And then whatever there is from part 3. NOT a roaming (aka no props) type thing, but different zones all themed to different parts of The Purge could be interesting. Like the shoot out zone would be REALLY dark, have some dim green lights for the night vision type thing, some easily moveable (ie not affect the parade) fake statutes/fountains and stuff. Could be interesting. Maybe a hero car from 2 where someone playing him periodically pulls into each zone, starts blasting the scareactors who fall down "dead", and then get up and leave when it's a cast change. That could be cool. Every now and then, walking around, you'd catch the guy from 2 come in and wipe out all the purgers and get in his car and leave. Doubt it would happen, but could be interesting. Just zombies...zzzzzzzz. Different "gangs" from The Purge in distinct zones....maybe. What I REALLY want to see is a return of the projections that had parts of NY disintegrating (Acid Assault maybe?). I LOVED that affect. If they did a similar affect throughout the park of it burning that would be awesome. Like lighting and real flame bars on the roofs and then projections of just everything on fire and burning and falling apart. Would love something like that. Hell, tie in some new "mini icon" that....ummmmm....lost her whole family in the fire, yet she was blamed for it for witchcraft or something, and she was burned at the stake and seeks her revenge. Or she was burnt at the stake on some BS charge and came back to haunt the town and set it all on fire killing everybody. Would love to see something like that.
  12. I'm not worried about fake chainsaws. Much like I wasn't worried about fake machetes that Jason had, or fake knives on Freddy's gloves, or Michael's fake kitchen knife, or fake guns in Havoc, etc, etc, etc. If conga lines, exit signs, and pushy flashlight ushers don't take me out of the moment, the chainsaws won't either We're spoiled from them in the street, but that's also watching them lurk, sneak up on an unsuspecting person, and seeing them "attack" in a wide open space. Here it will be a quick couple second glimpse in a confined space. Plus, the fake sound will be overpowering anyway, not like it will make a difference. And it will be DARK....with strobes...etc. Except for the weird instances where a chainsaw sound is revving and the scareactor is just standing there...or he's cutting into someone when the sound cue ends. Usual stuff like that, but I don't think the authenticity of the chainsaws will be something you notice when being herded through dark rooms.
  13. I could be wrong, but I think Frequent Fear passes aren't valid on Saturdays. You might want to check into that to make sure. Rush of Fear is the first xx days, with no weekend stipulations or anything. This far in advance I'm sure you can call customer service and switch them (I didn't even know they were on sale yet) if it works out to your advantage.
  14. The sinking of the RMS Titanic occurred on the night of 14 April through to the morning of 15 April 1912 in the north Atlantic Ocean, four days into the ship's maiden voyage from Southampton to New York City. #classic. Frightanic 2?
  15. #Classic is curious. If it didn't have that, I'd say they might be announcing Krampus as I think it came out on Digital this week and the BluRay comes out in 2 weeks. Ash vs Evil Dead Season 2 doesn't come out until Sept. The Walking Dead already ended and doesn't come back until Oct. Nothing going on with Killer Klowns, TCM, or any other rumored IPs that I can think of. Nothing seems to really tie into a movie related media campaign. Maybe it will announce Jack's return...or that there will be a 10th house this year...or the return of Penn & Teller...or something else. Can't wait to find out.
  16. 1) Not sure 2) Well, there's no guarantee...but with express pass if you get there when the park opens and stay until it closes there's no reason you shouldn't be able to do everything in one night. However, you might not even need them for opening weekend. I typically go the first weekend in October and we get the Rush of Fear + Express and are able to do every house every night and usually can do every house twice if we want. We get there, try to do like 3 or 4 houses without the express until the lines start to get big, then we start using the Express and go through all the houses, then we hang out for a while and see the sites, check out the scare zones, have an adult beverage or 4...and then check the lines and see what else we want to do again. I've heard it's NOT busy opening weekend, but have never been there myself for it. I hope you're getting Rush of Fear + Express passes as it's the best bargain out there. You get admission to the first 3 weeks (or something like that) of the event with express passes valid for one time through each house per night. That's what we always get and it's only like $220 I think. The Rush of Feer is like $80-$100, but the Express knocks it up to a bit over $200. Don't quote me on that price, but I think it was just around $100 more with express.
  17. Is Evil Dead on his bucketlist too? They've had "tributes" to it before....but with Ash vs Evil Dead I think that could fulfill his 90s bucket list (Evil Dead II has to be really late 80s and Army or Darkness was definitely in the 90s). It would be interesting to have 2 houses with chainsaws at the forefront if they had TCM and Evil Dead. Of course, Killer Klowns is #1 on my wish list every year so I truey hope we get that. If we get KKFOS and any sort of Evil Dead house I'd be out of my mind happy. Of course, everybody else will probably bitch about them being IPs and non-originals ------------------------------ Edit: WORKING in Vegas...the home of 1 million trade shows. Could literally mean anything when you work at a theme park. Though I'd be very happy with a return of P&T.
  18. I'd love for them bring back the Cabin in the Woods house! Why? Look at my signature, I missed HHN23 so I loved them having AWIL last year and if they had CITW then it will be like I didn't miss that year as I'd have gotten to do my 2 most anticipated houses I unfortunately missed Then they just need to bring back Hellgate Prison with a full rated R warning attached to the house.
  19. I'm at the opposite end of the spectrum. I loved the central location where crowds could disperse via several different routes and you could come and go as you wished during the show and didn't have to get herded into, and out of, an auditorium. The freedom of movement and the organic experience it brought on was something I really enjoyed. However, I do agree that it really took away from the scarezone in that area.
  20. 1. Won't instantly be negative about everything. 2. Will check out King Kong (we do both parks during the day) 3. Will check out the new Sports Bar 4. Will imbibe quite a bit in Simpsons Land 5. Will do the AM and PM lights on tours 6. Will spend as much time in Finnegan's as I spend in the longest line of the night 7. Will NOT buy a stupid house T-Shirt because of the ridiculous blood words on the front of the shirt 8. Will take a million pictures in the photo op zone that will piss off many here 9. Will debate with my friends, every night, if Rock It is worth the line...and end up only doing it once. 10. Will check out the updated Hulk coaster. 11. Won't fill out anything as silly as an Oath thread. Ooops...
  21. I really wouldn't mind either. He's the best of what they have...and the last time they tried an original Icon with Fear, everybody hated it so why bother trying to create a whole new one with a whole backstory (from their point of view). So I don't see them bothering to make a new Icon in the arbitrary 26th year of the event. Maybe the 30th will open some interdemensional portal and have a theme for a new icon. Jack is the most popular and recognizable figure for the event so it gives marketing the most bang for their buck. I think many people feel HHN without Jack is like Halloween III: A Halloween movie without Michael Myers. I get it and would be fine with it....certainly more so than years that didn't have any IconS and just had IPs in all the promotional materials. Of course, watching The Walking Dead recently (I haven't read a single comic so I know nothing about him) and keeping away from any potential spoilers and not mentioning anything that's not in the current commercial running about the season finale....t wouldn't surprise me if they had Negan as the Icon, taking over the park with his bat slung over his shoulder, and doing crap for his own entertainment. That could be interesting....and cause Criticalanalysis to spontaneously combust.
  22. I'm sure you already have a negative feeling about 27, 28, 29, and 30 too. Probably already hate the King Kong ride and the new water park too. When we literally know NOTHING about this year's event (hell, there are conflicting reports about if TWD is even in Orlando this year) any opinions you are forming about this year's event are solely made up in your head and express your pessimism about the event. It's getting really old.
  23. WOW...I hope this means that it will a prime candidate for a house in a year or two! Classic 1988 sci-fi horror comedy "Killer Klowns from Outer Space" is making a comeback - as a TV series. The original film, directed by Stephen Chiodo, centers on alien clowns invading a small town and has become a cult success over the past three decades. Chiodo, speaking with The Movie Crypt this week, revealed that plans are in the works for a "long arch series for cable" and went on to describe his vision which sounds like the story will serve as effectively a restart set in contemporary times: "We wondered, 'Should we do a sequel to the first one or do we do a remake?' We came up with a 'requel' – it's a sequel and a remake. We've been developing this for a while. It's a trilogy in four parts, and it really follows the continuing adventures of new people who are experiencing this phenomenon of a Klown invasion, and once in a while you see some of the old guys pop up and hear their stories - find out what happened over the last 25 years. It's f--king great." Talk of a film sequel has been making the rounds for years, though this marks a change even if it's not quite clear what Chiodo is planning as the description suggest films but a cable series was definitely mentioned. Either way no network or streaming service has been linked at this time. Source: http://www.darkhorizons.com/news/42032/-killer-klowns-remade-as-a-tv-series
  24. I'd LOVE to have a schlocky horror year with B-Movies like Tremors, Killer Klowns, C.H.U.D., Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, and stuff like that. Won't happen, but it would be interesting. Nothing as silly as Scaractors dressed up as Killer Tomatoes, but just ridiculous tongue in cheek horror. And I think we now have our store for this year's TWD house in the "insert store here" template someone outlined earlier
  25. Basically they could re-use some of the Saw sets (the building looked straight out of Saw 1) and have a little window with those fake flame streamer light things fluttering in front of it and have a burnt scareactor pounding on the door and putting his face up by it periodically. Have to admit, it's the best location for a house so far...maybe a couple rooms including the hallway and maybe the leash. Don't want to give anything away for those who haven't watched it yet so I'll leave it at that, but you know what I'm talking about
