  1. Sorry, that should have been "if the plane is being used," as you're right, there's no guarantee yet it will be. And I wasn't thinking the plane would be carrying them. Rather, the plane crashes into whatever was containing them, loosing them onto the world. Or, they shoot the plane down, hence the battlefield idea.
  2. If Havoc is in the Disater Queue, and if the plane is being used, I'm guessing plane crash in a training camp or holding area. Or, full on battlefield. Sort of like "Havoc: Who Let the Dogs Out?"
  3. You know, I could see it as a best of for all four films, actually, depending on how the rights played out. And Army of Darkness is a Universal property, after all. I'm very curious to see how they do this house.
  4. These? I don't know what you guys are talking about. This sounds like the best HHN we'll have EVAR. 4 SRS.
  5. With two potential zombie houses (albeit one also has other mutations as well), the odds are in favor of the attached SZ being zombies. Or, maybe New York will become Raccoon City? They could use the projectors like HHNJ did last year, and Orlando did with Acid Assault, put out maybe a smaller set piece or two, and the theming would be perfect with a bunch of zombies. Okay, now I want this to happen. Make it happen, A&D! Sorry, I kind of diverted there a bit from my original point. But now I hope it's Havoc, so we get this in New York.
  6. So here's a neat thought. If La Llorona and Evil Dead shared a soundstage, I bet they could build a large moving river set piece that runs through both houses. For Evil Dead, there's the river that's flooded the road, and for La Llorona, it could be where she drowns the children. And using it for two houses concurrently might make it a bit more budget and operations friendly. It wouldn't have to be deep, just enough to give the illusion, ala the floating water in the HHNH La Llorona house.
  7. Hahahahaha! Sorry, it was a toss up between this weekend and the final one. And at the time, we didn't know how many nights they'd be going for Halloween weekend. So my group opted for 4 definite nights over 3-4 potential nights to get the most out of the event. But I'll tell you this, if they wrap up the games those final three nights (which I'm guessing they will) I am going to be bummed...
  8. October 23, 24, 25, 27. FFP+ with express. Will hopefully be wearing this year's HNN shirt, or the official Morphan shirt.
  9. There's a separate video from after the panel where it's said that the merch will almost exclusively be on-line, and will only be sold for limited times. Like a couple of days limited. They may end up in the park store as well, but it wasn't guaranteed. At least some of the merch is tied to the games as well.
  10. If it is indeed based off this person, I'm sure it's in inspiration only, or they're using one aspect of the story as a springboard to do their own thing. I have a very hard time imagining that there'll be mug shots of this guy on marketing collateral, or that A&D will have us go through his mouth for the facade or anything like that. More than likely, unless you're a superfan like us, you won't even know that is has inspiration in reality.
  11. Well, to be fair, there's not much in the country that's like HHN. That's why it draws the people and the crowds it does. But I have to imagine there are other haunts in the area, given how much a touristy area Orlando is. Being non-native, is HOS really that far away? Haven't been myself, but it seems like they've been stepping up their game a lot the last couple years.
  12. Prom, again, I'm really hoping that your intent is as altruistic as you claim. But what you said could just have easily been done via pm. Instead, by putting it into the public sphere, and by explicitly calling out that you're an expert who sees Truth where others don't, it creates a context of elitism. That's not noting difference in how different circles see the event; that's implying that you're better, or at least more intuitive, than others, without any backing of that opinion. I hope you can see that (no pun intended). And you spun it in such a way that if someone defends their position (which in a public forum, people will), you can claim martyrdom and your point proven. That being said, I've given my bit regarding this and am moving on. This is only derailing the thread, and things are pretty close to getting personal. I respect these boards and the members here too much to continue along that line of discourse. Especially for an event that's supposed to be something fun.
  13. While I'm sure something was lost due to the medium (at least I hope that's the case), this came across as incredibly ego-centric, and simultaneously speaks down to and disregards a lot of people here. Just fyi. No one here is pointing, mocking, or laughing at anyone else. We all have our own opinions on the event, and everyone's is just as valid. I may not agree with what someone says, but they have a right to say it. That being said, it seems like you're focusing on a small aspect of the event and ignoring that HHN is first and foremost a business strategy. The numbers from last year don't lie. They sold out on at least one occasion, and it was later on in the event's run. That means that there wasn't terrible word of mouth; and the event, or at least the IP houses featured in the event, were successful in bringing people in throughout the length of the event. As a business, you do what brings you the biggest ROI. And last year did that, plain and simple. Whether or not you agree with the changes that took place, or think that that change was in the right direction, change happened, and it was successful. So obviously the trajectory was the correct one for the business, despite your personal opinion on the matter. It's why we're seeing so many IP's again this year, and will continue to see as long as it's profitable. If you really want to drive your change at the event, then as others have mentioned, simply don't go. Don't give them your "significant amounts of money." Give it to a competitor, which will allow them to do more and ultimately force Universal to change their game. Surveys are great, but the revenue stream is where it counts. And tell them you're doing it, as Jakemeister pointed out above. That's the best way to get their attention. I believe it was Legacy who said he no longer attends the event because he doesn't like where it's gone? I 100% commend him for that decision, as it's putting the money where the mouth is, so to speak. Don't fool yourself, the event has ALWAYS been about the money. To assume otherwise is to ignore centuries of economics and free market capitalism. The event, bluntly put, is nothing but a business strategy to keep you in the park longer and to spend more money. That's it. What A&D does for us is amazing, but as they even pointed out at HE a couple weekends ago, it has a business goal and KPI's to drive. It's another form of viral marketing, just like all the crazy stuff they did for the last couple Nolan Batman flicks. Things like LT and HU are the future of marketing, not artistic expression. Are they fun? Absolutely. Does it give us something extra for our buck? Certainly. Is there passion in it? Obviously. But it still only has one ultimate primary driver, whether you'd like to admit it or not. And I'm not saying you can't have complaints about aspects of the event. Obviously there are parts that won't appeal to everyone. But please don't come here and proclaim that it's a disappointment and you could do better, and then say that others that don't agree with you simply don't get it, and are somehow beneath you. That's just insulting and uncalled for. So let me ask you, Prometheus. Knowing what's coming, and how disappointing last year was, are you planning on attending HHN 23?
  14. Agreed. I'm basically looking for a hybrid of what we got last year and the years prior. Like, if Esquelte Muerto encompassed a larger section of the park with theming, and you had some scareacters that stayed in the main area with the set, and then some that walked around in their section. Might not be feasible, both for budget and operation reasons, but it'd be pretty cool to see.
  15. I third this. Using the RFID tags to create a more interactive experience in the streets and houses is an awesome idea. As for the streets, Also like the No place is safe idea. I'd like some roaming hordes, but confined to certain areas (i.e. hordes stay in certain areas, instead of park-wide). Combine that with some set pieces and props for each scarezone, and I'd be happy.
  16. LOL Hope my last post didn't come off as sounding harsh or anything. BTW, now I've gone and looked at your other statuses, and even though I'm sure they aren't connected, it's making me think of Call of Cthulhu, and the prison being R'lyeh, trapped beneath the waves. Don't get me hopes up like that!
  17. The issue with all the confusion, in my opinion, is that we effectively have four different people all being clever and giving clues that make sense individually to them, but to the masses (i.e. the rest of us) it's causing crossed wires, leaps of logic, and going down rabbit holes trying to connect it all. Especially with LT doing the same thing right now. I know you guys are excited about all of this and about all of us trying to figure it out, but it feels like there are too many cooks in the kitchen right now. Prison - New haunted house/mansion/barn/McDonald's/whatever. Ghosts can't leave. LT device is back, a la Spirit Seekers in 2010. Flashback - If the "prison" ties into this clue, then I'm going with the above, and the flashbacks are them replaying their deaths in the house. If not, I'm going to pick Dr. Jimmy's HU house as this, and the flashbacks are for last year's legions, and parts of older houses that fit in. Why? Because I liked the idea of his.
  18. I would be okay with this as well. When I first heard it, I was kinda eh about it. But it's growing on me considerably every time I listen to it now.
  19. You're awful. I wouldn't have it any other way. With all this talk of front boobs, back boobs, and man boobs, I don't think the event is going to live up to expectations. Although, with this line of thought, that may be a good thing...
  20. Kat, who do you love? It's been right under your nose the whole time. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=oa.233327110126807&type=1 They're in the HU Facebook group, per the link above. Looks like Charles uploaded them last year.
  21. Oh, I just had a fun thought. What if the prison house IS a LT house, and they've been jailing up all the old HHN nasties over the last couple years into the prison? Of course, they get loose, and hijinks ensue. That's qualify the needs of the cryptic comment, and wouldn't just be a "prison house." And Rev, the connection most have made witht balloons to AWiL is because the main character grabs some balloons to cover himself the morning after his first transformation. And no, so far as we know, the permits are not visible this year. However, it looks like construction has started. So it's possible they hid them in other stuff, or made them private.
  22. I think Simon was Resident Evil, after one of the character's names. Which would make the Christine house the prison house, by default. One of those is wrong, but we don't know which one. Or if the others are matched up correctly.
  23. It sounds like we'll all be re-registering this year as it is, so you may get to choose over again anyway.
  24. Man, I read PS:HTH, and knew exactly what that meant. And then I felt like a nerd. I'm really looking forward to getting final confirmation on this year's houses/scarezones/hordes. If it's true that ED and CitW will be there, they could be different, given the third act of the latter film. And I agree. Prison, especially for an original house, could really mean anything.
