  1. Ok well I just checked the Inside Universal forum and now have no basis for confimation but I'll get back to you once I develop a cohesive reason. In my opinion, take everything he says as having potential to be a clue. He frequently drops hints that just blow over people's heads but they're there Unrelated but these are my guesses on unannounced houses: Trick R Treat Halloween The Lost Boys Alien
  2. Lol calm down. Have you seen HHN Hollywood? Poll dancers at the entrance is literally a staple of the event. Scantly-clad women as distractions are a frequently used scare tactics at both locations. I would find it quite strange if anyone one this board would be upset about him/her pointing out a common mature element of the event worth preserving
  3. I remember years ago I was in line for Havoc: Derailed and there was a little kid who DID NOT want to be there. Not that it was any of my business but as a group we were pretty concerned with how it looked like his parents could care less and how unsettled/nervous he was. Long story short, the scare actors in the house didn't ruin this kids life. They're people, they're professional and I'd say from what I've seen they really prove there's something to an art about what they're doing. I've seen scare actors relentless scare someone whos there to have fun and that's the point- there's a difference between fun scared and helpless scared and they know the line. My point is that there have been children (not lots but still) at this event for years and the event hasn't changed because of it. I don't think that event will be pacified this year or in the future. I doubt this kid (referenced above) got targeted directly by a scareactor once. I also highly doubt any property would shift the demographics of an event called Halloween Horror Nights to a PG audience/ childrens audience. If there was a worry for that happening though there's once solution marketing could use. Go back to making classic era HHN commercials. Growing up in Orlando, some of the commercials for Horror Nights were scarier than anything in TV in October. For you out of towners (idk if they were on air across the country) the commericals were notible enough that there's even a special mention on the Wikipedia page for the event about them.
  4. I thought the idea of an overall 80's theme was a silly rumor but if theres a Lost Boys house then I don't see how they couldn't
  5. Maybe were getting a Dracula maze. There's a really cool part in the book where he hunts the crew one by one and then the empty ship crashes into a town. A cool original could be a maze that starts with a vampire (or vampires) on a boat and then halfway though you get to a town and vampires just ravenously assault everyone. I personally like the use of vampires because compared to zombies or otherwise, they can come at you much more aggressively. I'd be cool with another vampire house so soon, just as long as they're not vampire clowns
  6. It always surprises me how much word of mouth plays a role every year and it REALLY surprised me when it affected an originals reception that much
  7. Did anyone think it was weird that last year the Shinings lines were empty towards the end of the night? IMO American Horror Story II wasn't as good but was carried by its name and has longish lines. The Shining however would just drop off into a 5 minute wait. Actually, the last night I went Scarecrow's line was so long it was literally out of the queue. Has anyone heard if management/marketing took note of this? (Originals having the longest lines I mean)
  8. From what I recall in the surveys I've taken, it seems to me their questions are usually for 2-3 years in the future. Things I've been questioned on have been used but it was never immediate
  9. I've heard people mention content (like in Hellgate Prison) that wouldn't be allowed in todays event. Would any of you seasoned professionals care to discuss whats changed content wise from the past compared to now? From what I've heard the event was a bit fouler and slightly lewder (Castle Vampyr) in the past. Has the violence level changed? Is there an actual concern the event would continue to slide more into PG-13 territory?
  10. If they do a "Will-o-Wisp" it would be cool if they were humanoid versions of anglerfish (pictured below) Monsters that use the light to lure people to their doom. It could be neat original, especially if it was really dark except for the lure lights Is there a chance the Will-o-Wisp hint is a lead about Winters Night? Wasn't the story something about following blue lights? (Not sure on the lore, never got to do it. I just recall blue lights playing a role)
  11. Are you referring to Blinky cups from previous years? And what's reactivation?
  12. So I'm still wondering because he doesn't seem to fit anywhere- where's the weird Russian guy that was in a promo photo and trailer?
  13. Lol I've been going for 4 years and I thought that was already the arrangement. My understanding was signature drinks and beer all around and Finnigans had mixed drinks so I'm not going to be seeing/feeling a difference then
  14. I honestly don't mind to much either, and I know they had problems in the past with it, but the suddenness of it combined with the angels removal is alarming if not intresting I agree, I think there's got to be more to it than just "someone will be offended" It seems to me a bit more like an overall reduction in violence - none of these are event ruining but off the top of my head I've read theres no victims in Scarecrows and I thought Invasion! would have the Aliens attacking/experimenting. Could be entirely off however, I won't be attending until next week. And of course this could all Harry Potter but that seems like a potential stretch to me
  15. So they removed the angels from The Fallen and the rumor is that they opted to make the event "as dry as possible" and have made alcohol hard to access. Does anyone know what's going on and what's up with these changes?
  16. ^ Asking the important questions. On the same note, is the Corn ok?
  17. Might be Van Helsing - that's what was planned at one point before HP
  18. I'm excited for everything about this house but I still have no idea what's up with the Russian guy and the role he plays
  19. In the commercial there is some random viking looking guy (that looks really chill, like he showed up to the wrong party) - does anyone know what he's from?
  20. Would you mind listing said haunts or making a thread listing them? The only ones I'm aware of are HNN, HoS and recently The Shallow Grave
