  1. That seems to be the case but they're all located in the church area, away from where the creatures are in the park. There's now roughly about 5 of them - they're in stereotype trope outfits: nerd, cheerleader, etc. I'm assuming there's more to the areas lore that was either dropped in description or these characters were added in front of the church to keep it from being a dead area.
  2. In a year where all of the houses look fantastic this one still stood out to me with it's gorgeous set design. Weird story but one of the rooms was so foggy that my friend almost had to exit the house because he couldn't breathe. It must have been a malfunction or something because I actually ended up having holding my breath just to make it though. What it lacks in scares it makes up for in passion to it's creation. 3.5/5
  3. It was insanely crowded opening night. I arrived fairly late and only got to do 3 houses but everything I saw was incredible house-wise. In my opinion it usually isn't until week 3 or so that everything's on point. That's not the case this year and they've really gone all out on the houses. The scarezones overall seem fairly weak right now (in comparison to previous years) but I'm sure in the next week or so everything will find it's swing. They all look incredible but none of them (including the hoards. Does anyone know what the chainsaw hoard is supposed to be? They're like Victorian Clowns or something) made me feel as if I needed to be looking over my shoulder. In line I heard so many people say that their favorite house was different than the next. There appears to be no clear standout as they all seem to be winners and there's something for everyone. From what I saw the line for Stranger Things never dropped below 2 hours even at 1am. Poltergeist, Scary Tales and Halloween 4 also had ridiculously long lines the whole night. The only lines I ever saw with a shorter wait were Trick R Treat and Seeds of Extinction but I'd attribute both of these to location rather than to popularity. I'm incredibly excited to go back and see the rest of the houses. From just the small taste of the event I had this year still seems to be incredibly special.
  4. This is a really fun house. Not my favorite but it's so varied and unique that it's hard not to love it. 4/5
  5. Does anyone know what's going on with the two scare actors by the church? There's a woman in a white dress with a flashlight and a cheerleader. I think they're apart of this zone but I'm not quite sure what the deal is
  6. Absolutely incredible house and the best one I did tonight. 5/5 I always look forward to reading your reviews. This really is a magnificent house. Not to immediately counter what I said above but after doing this house your comment makes perfect sense. I personally really liked it but understand how you can look at a house, see that it's incredibly well done (and will likely get HOTY) but at the same time feel that it does nothing for you on a scare level due to the subject material.
  7. I thought we all agreed the Purge wasn't happening? Whoops
  8. My immediate thought when I originally saw this was how could would a house about a plane crashing into the land of Oz be? We do have a crashed plane in one of our houses but I'm pretty sure its meteor
  9. Lyman Frank Baum was the "historian" of Oz. "The Scribes returned to reveal that they were led by the Evil Queen." http://halloweenhorrornights.wikia.com/wiki/Scary_Tales:_Once_Upon_a_Nightmare The Wicked Witch is the ruler and unifying character, rewriting all sorts of stories instead of it just being purely an Oz house. But I think theres more information to get from this between yours and @Legacy's clues
  10. Maybe something to consider... Slaughter Sinema - the Director Poison - Storyteller (?) Carnial Graveyard: Rust in Pieces - Jack DE- Bloody Mary Meteor - ??? I could see us having quite a bit of cameos this year if they wanted to It absolutely helps! Anyone looking at this may want to have a peak back around page 87.
  11. http://halloweenhorrornights.wikia.com/wiki/Halloween_Horror_Nights:_Reflections_of_Fear ^ for anyone who wants to have a look, theres so many houses that match this year. You weren't kidding @mystiquephreeq. Yep. Now I'm thinking Snow might be what's Stone Cold
  12. I've been assuming Scary Tales and have been trying to work the clues. I think the resuming of the stabbing refers to the scribes sacrificing more people. Not sure on Stone Cold Steve. Maybe it's to bring a statue to life or an Ice Queen? I think the 3rd clue points to the purpose of the house. The sacrifices are bring to life a character or characters that is some form of evil ruler. Edit- for the Stone Cold Steve gif, if you watch the full scene, he's mirroring what he just said. Maybe its tied into Bloody Mary?
  13. Fearway Park lol Serious Answer: (Creature Name) - Knee Deep in the Dead Because you know, being knee deep would make your socks red
  14. @mystiquephreeq Would you say pickle could be connected to roots? Also does your theory of each original connecting to a Legion of Horror still stand?
  15. The clue "Pickle" is for the unknown that people keep assuming is Oz right?
  16. So unpopular opinion but I think if you're an Orlando local and familiar with theme park navigation the express pass is unnecessary. If you arrive at opening and head to the back of the park you can knock out quite a few houses. The trick is to go against the flow (common knowledge here but maybe not for everyone). As the night goes on the front of the park will really thin out and more people leave around 10 than you'd think. Every year I grab a frequent fear pass (the slightly cheaper option that doesn't include Saturdays. Days that are blocked out for you will be a nightmare anyway). Our group arrives around 8 to avoid paying for parking. Once inside the park we check the time board and then go to the house with the lowest wait. I've hit all but two houses without fail every year. If its a Thursday it really is as simple as just going from shortest line to shortest line. Fridays don't seem to be much worse until mid-October. That being said, this really only is effective if you have the opportunity to attend multiple nights locally. Strategies like the one @hunnylvr describes have you hitting houses TWICE a night (and if you're new to the event, one viewing will never give a house enough justice). If you're travelling I would say the last place you want to be cheap is with express passes - it can mean the difference between a trip being worth your money or less than fulfilling. Thank you for all your hard work running this place. Outside of everyone's love for HHN and Halloween in general, the board itself one of the best communities on the internet.
  17. This is my favorite part of speculation. Emily could be a common name that was selected for no reason. But maybe...? It wouldn't surprise me if the same people that took all the time to develop these notecards (with perfect continuity no less. Nice catch @Gambit) slipped in some VERY subtle hints and Easter eggs.
  18. I'm so hyped for Dead Exposure and Meteor that they could literally kill me in either house and I'd consider it a positive experience
  19. I bet the metro passing will serve as our flashing of lights
  20. I thought Chucky would really top off the 80s theme. I'm surprised it's actually happening but both these zones will be awesome
  21. So have we come up with a conclusion to the Pickle Rick clue set? Is it connected to Schwartz pickles?
  22. When did everyone (mostly on IU) become convinced Chucky would have a scarezone? I thought we confirmed there was almost 0 chance of him making an appearance
  23. I agree. I love the Thing but I think the majority of people (myself included) were hopeful just because they missed a Thing house before. Was Winchester that good? Also unrelated but were/are you a member of iwrestledabearonce?
