  1. Huh thanks for the info. Yeah I'm going to ask around. This year there is a Sunday and Monday before Halloween. I didn't expect it to be that busy.
  2. Hey guys, it's been a while since I've been back here and just had a general question. Has the event still generally been slow on Halloween Night itself for the past two years? I know it used to be and that's the night I'm aiming for this year. If so, do you think that trend continues this year? Have Wednesdays been slower? I think those were new dates added this year to try to meet the demand. For all the pros here who have actually been on Halloween, do you think it will be slower this year still? Otherwise probably won't go until the first weekend of November. Want to avoid hell week and those insane prices. Would never do this event again without an Express Pass. Thanks
  3. Wow, extremely strong lineup for IP houses this year. Besides TWD, everyone of them is awesome. Really hope I can make it. The crowds are going to be more insane then usual with some of those names though. 1) Hallowen II: Hell Comes To Haddonfield 2) The Exorcist 3) Krampus 4) American Horror Story 5) The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 6) Ghost Town 7) Tomb Of The Ancients 8) Lunatics Playground 9) The Walking Dead
  4. Wow so I haven't been following along this year but saw The Exorcist and Texas Chainsaw Massacre announcements and got stoked. The Walking Dead...not so much. They have more material then last year so it should be better but without the actual characters being a part of the maze (which I guess is never going to happen), I don't care anymore. Shocked that the house lineup has not leaked this year. That's a first in a long time. But really excited with the rumored houses: Would love to see Halloween 2 and Krampus (wasn't a huge fan of the movie because in tone it didn't know what it wanted to be but it would make a great house). I still would love to see Trick r' Treat over it though. If true, a mega Hitchcock hits house would be very cool also. Bates Motel was fantastic this season but they can't make a house on that. There's just not enough material. I'll wait to see what else is announced but I'll definitely be there if Halloween 2 is announced. I missed it last year due to the lack of Scream but this years lineup looks much stronger. Just wasn't worth it to go to see Freddy vs Jason, Greatest Hits, and Body Collectors. Here's to hoping to no more cheesy gimmicks like I saw in the Freddy vs. Jason walk through though.
  5. I completely disagree with you. People with express should be able to just walk in or wait 5-10 minutes max. The whole point of getting that pass is to be able to hit everything and do it comfortably. Prices for those passes this year are $70-$120. If someone spends $120 more then I did for the sole purpose of skipping the lines, then yes they deserve to be able to walk in. The prices for these passes seems like they keep going up. It's more then the event itself. I refuse to spend $110 - 120, that's just insane so looks like if I go it will be on a Wednesday this year.
  6. Yeah this honestly makes me less excited to go. I thought 20 minute express waits for certain houses last year was pushing it in early October on a Thursday. I hope this weekend is a fluke because for the amount of money that you spend for that, to still wait 40 minutes is completely ridiculous. I was surprised to even wait more then 5-10 minutes because it's never been that way before.
  7. There is full walk throughs for every house out there in really nice HD video quality. From what I've seen of Orlando there is just highlights of Freddy vs Jason, Body Collectors, Asylum In Wonderland, M&M, Insidious and The Purge so far. There is full walk throughs of RUN and AWOL. I won't watch them until going or if I don't go, later on. We never really get as high quality videos over here even after they are allowed. Or maybe houses aren't as dark there, I dunno.
  8. Good to hear a lot of positive things being said already. I'm excited for a bunch of them especially Freddy vs. Jason, Body Collectors, Insidious, M &M and Asylum In Wonderland. I just watched all the Hollywood house videos from two HD sources and while I can't comment on anything in Orlando this year yet, I will say that their Insidious house is excellent. From what I've heard, ours is supposed to be a knockout but I'm not sure if it will top that one. As someone who's seen all three movies multiple times, it's very well done with the scenes they chose. I'm glad it left out a lot of the 3rd movie too. I also don't think our Purge house is going to come close to the terror tram which is perfect for that sort of idea. Once again, it's really well executed out there with a lot of creative scenes and tons of different masks. I'm honestly more excited to see what I can spot of Scream in ours. Halloween doesn't come close to ours though. They tried but A&D knocked that out of the park in terms of atmosphere. It's just too hard to replicate what they accomplished. A few creative scenes in this one but a really stupid placement of a Michael Myers mannequin. I also don't like the masks. TWD was okay. That was a weird choice to have an overrun FEMA camp as one of the scenes. Those "supposedly" don't exist and that was obviously not part of the show. What is shown of that scene sure looks a lot like what was in that I Pet Goat II video so maybe they were inspired by the conspiracies or something. Anyways, I really liked the elevator scene there. The way they positioned all the walkers outside the glass is really cool. Besides that and the opening scene, I hope ours is better but don't have the highest hopes after hearing what the water effect is. Crimson Peak has beautiful sets. I haven't seen the movie but that house looks a lot better then Dracula Untolds did out there last year. TITE is goofy but pretty true to the movie. Not really sure what else they could have done. And I'd rather have AVP again with how well it was done out there then AWOL especially after hearing that they still haven't improved the emptiness of the Piccadilly Circus scene.
  9. Really sick commercial! Now that's like the old days. Love seeing the properties actually appear like they used to. I always remember the commercial where Chucky popped up out of the popcorn machine with "Lets all go to the lobby" playing. Wish the Body Collectors had been in one the cages because it would have totally fit. I know it was rumored that they had to cut Ghostface but extremely stoked with what we got. Definitely the best one in years.
  10. Houses: 1) Freddy vs. Jason 2) Body Collectors: Recollections 3) Jack Presents: 25 Years of Monsters and Mayhem 4) Insidious 5) The Walking Dead - The Living Dead 6) The Purge 7) Asylum in Wonderland 3D 8) RUN: Blood, Sweat, and Fears 9) An American Werewolf in London Scare Zones: 1) All Nite Die-In: Double Feature 2) Evil's Roots 3) PsychoScareapy: Unleashed 4) Scary Tales: Screampunk 5) Icons: HHN
  11. Oops I didn't mean to cause this huge cloud of negativity. I was just being honest with the current pricing of the event. Like comparing the lineup to what it actually costs to go. Because nowadays to be comfortable you need an express pass. And that's all well and good if all of the houses sound fun. But this year I just thought the lineup was lacking. And this coming from someone who did attend a lot of the earlier years but personally prefers the IPs. Dream Walkers is one of my favorite houses ever. Body Snatchers is probably one of my favorite originals. I've gone so many years that I hate to see the event reuse houses like Howl O Scream does. And that's what AWIL feels like to me. I'm glad everyone else is fine with it being back. I thought it was good the first time around but just feel like they could have done something differently with how many different horror properties there are out there. Quoting someones post above, yeah no ones ideal lineup is going to suit everyone but having three properties back so soon is kind of a waste (and I know they couldn't do anything about The Purge situation). I understand TWD. Really I do. I was one of it's biggest supporters here leading up to the 2nd year. I wanted to see it come back because I felt the potential was not met in 2012. And last year I was fine with it too. Biggest house ever, sign me up! But this year the best thing they can say about it is "We added water!" It just screams marketing. If they really wanted people to be excited they would have finally gotten the rights from AMC to use the characters in the house. That's what people want. If I go I'll still be excited to walk through it but I know to lower my expectations from previous years. I did like the house a lot last year though especially the forest scene and the ending. I'm glad to hear Scream was originally planned to be the movie. I wonder what happened at the last minute then when the TV show is a very different beast. And I am bummed we'll never see this property at the event ever. As someone who also goes to Howl O Scream frequently, Alice 3D does sound like an idea from them. I thought A&D would be more creative with picking am original for the anniversary. It screams safe, especially with 3D. Okay so with all that said, I really am excited for Freddy vs Jason & Blizzard. I can't wait to see what they do with the Body Snatchers. I hope that the Anniversary house is better then Hallow'd Past. I went that year and can barely remember that house besides that it was in the parade building. That was the one I was looking forward to the most during the event too. So once again just not setting my expectations through the roof. Insidious should be really well done and hopefully RUN can capture some magic of the past. The Purge has the chance to be really cool too and it will be interesting to see if you can spot the scenes from Scream that were removed. I love that the pumpkins are back in the streets. That atmosphere was missing in the past few years in the event. Like I'm not huge on scare zones (especially last years minus Purge) but this year they all sound pretty cool. So honestly I'm not all negative. Just not as amped as last year where the only house I wasn't excited about was Dracula Untold. I didn't have high expectations for Giggles N Gore either but the idea was awesome. The shortness of the house...not so much. It should be fun and I'll be eager to read the reviews on Employee night. I'll decide if I'm going to go or not as it gets closer. I'm sure I probably will.
  12. 1) Freddy vs Jason 2) Blizzard 3) Insidious (would have been Scream) 4) Anniversary 5) TWD 6) The Purge 7) Alice in 3D (would be higher without 3D) 8) RUN 9) AWIL
  13. Signing on for the first time since I saw the Purge announcement and caught up on the last 10 pages or so explaining what happened. I understand that Universal really didn't have a lot of choice in this matter but it still sucks to lose Scream for The Purge. Scream is one of the best slashers ever and I was really stoked for it. With it's cancellation, that might be the straw that stops me from attending this year. So can anyone confirm if it was originally based on the show? If it was, why would A&D agree to it? The show is fucking awful and is a slap in the face to any of the movies. Seriously there is a reason it is rated as one of the worst shows on TV by sites like AV Club. Generic plot, horrible dialogue, terrible acting and awful characters. Even by MTV standards it is so bad in every possible way. I can't believe it was renewed for another season but teenagers watch stupid shows I guess. I couldn't continue after episode 3. So if everything that went down last week had to do with rights issues with the house being based on the movies vs the TV show, why would they have chose this property knowing full well that they couldn't do the movies beforehand? Did they think it would become a huge hit or something? I mean the writing was on the wall when everyone involved with the movies distanced themselves from it. If the house was going to be based on the show then I'm happy that the Purge replaced it. But if it was going to be the movies, man what a bummer. So much potential with the original alone. I just can't see A&D not knowing that they couldn't use stuff from the movies beforehand. No way would they waste an IP for the big anniversary on a show that was not guaranteed to be a hit. If they knew in advance they seriously should have chosen something else right when the rights holder said no. Now it's just a huge mess with marketing. The Purge fits but it still feels like a wasted IP when we could possibly see it again next year for the 3rd sequel. I feel like maybe we could have gotten Crimson Peak or possibly something even better to replace this idea once they found out that the movie was off limits. It completely made sense in the leaked list because the original is a huge IP but no one wanted the show. It's ratings are nowhere near AHS which pulls around a 1.8 - 2.2 in the 18-49 demo. The last episode of Scream pulled a 0.3. To give everyone an idea how big TWD is, it regularly pulls 7.0 - 8.0 and even higher for season openings/finales. Plus that makes 3 properties repeating this year that have been at HHN very recently (TWD, AWIL & The Purge). I don't know, overall like a lot of others, I'm just not that excited this year. The main house I'm looking forward to is Freddy vs Jason but I don't see it living up to the classic NOES house from a few years back. I doubt they did a new cue video like they did for Dreamwalkers. Besides that I'm really only looking forward to the return of the Body Snatchers. Insidious will be cool to walk through but I hated the 3rd movie. The second has scenes that will fit really well into a house though. I'm a huge fan of it and understand it being back but TWD this season isn't right for a house. The press didn't even mention Alexandria so I guess it's going to be based off the first half of the season minus the Atlanta scenes. Last years house was fun but I've been bummed about this property ever since it's return the second time around. Still kind of shocked AMC won't let the characters be used after how much money this makes them. Not excited about the return of AWIL. I wasn't raving over the house like everyone else the first time around. It was good but I liked Halloween last year way better. I thought the Piccadilly scene in the original was hugely lacking scare actors so maybe they'll fix that? Not sure what else they can do with it. Once again feels like a waste of an IP. Anniversary House was forgettable the first time around so I hope this ones better. Alice has been done to death and I hate the 3D gimmick. That idea is better for something like Howl O Scream. Don't care about RUN either. So I'm stoked about two houses and pretty meh on all the others especially at the price with Express Pass. All of that will amount to like $200 for a total of 8 minutes. I'm kind of on the fence about attending right now but don't want to miss Freddy vs. Jason. Losing Scream was big for me.
  14. Just saw the video announcement. Seriously?! They get Crimson Peak and we are getting another AWIL house on the big anniversary? Wow that is so freaking lame. C'mon that one should have gone to both and Universal Orlando could have actually done something with it because the movie looks like it has a ton of potential unlike Dracula Untold. Who really wanted AWIL again? It's almost worse then TWD because that will at least be different sets. Theres' not much they can change with AWIL.
  15. So logging in for the first time in months and checking out the rumored full house lineup. Hadn't seen anything but speculation a few months ago. Things I'm excited about: The Body Collectors returning!! I really hope this house lives up to the others. Freddy vs Jason! Two of my favorite icons but really hoping this isn't just based off the movie. Hope A&D come up with something else and incorporate ideas from all the NOES and Friday The 13th in it. Scream sounds cool! Wondering if it's based on just the first movie or the sequels. Please no to the MTV show. Still this won't be as iconic as Halloween was and like others have said Scary Movie has kind of ruined Ghostface. Insidious has the opportunity to be awesome. Hoping this isn't a redo of Hollywoods house and we see some elements from 3 which comes out this summer. Hallow'd Past 2 should be awesome! Hope they pack it with icons and it is better then the original. Things I'm up in the air about: RUN - I've heard really good things about the original houses but have not had good experiences with any of the Disaster houses lately. That que is always insane. Alice In Wonderland - The idea sounds great...until they said it was in 3D. I'm not a fan of 3D houses. To me they always come off cheesy and to me this would have been a lot cooler if it had a sinister dark tone like Pans Labyrinth and not gone colorful. Things I'm unhappy about: AWIL: Seriously? I liked it two years ago. it's a great house but why bring it back so soon? They can't do it much better, the only thing that they really could have improved was the Piccadilly part which was empty in the original. Unlike TWD this can't really be that different. I get this house has it's huge fans but I would way rather see something else. It seems like a huge waste of a soundstage and an IP where they could have chosen another classic to nail. It seems like they could have done something like Poltergeist but probably would have went with what looks like the lame remake...but honestly it would still be better then what we've already seen. Like they could have also done Exorcist, Rosemarys, Baby, The Omen, The Shining, etc.. I just hope they are repeating this one to save money for other areas. . TWD - I have been one of the biggest supporters of this franchise here in years past but there is really no where else for this house to go. They won't incorporate the characters of the show like every other year it's been at HHN so it will just be like walking through the settings for season 5. But the problem is there isn't much to really walk through this year. We've already seen Terminus. The Atlanta areas and hospital will probably come off cheap looking and then once we get to the second half there isn't much there, just more abandoned houses and woods. Alexandria definitely doesn't fit HHN. Interested to see how they can top the biggest house ever though (which I did like). But overall I'm excited. Nightmare On Elm St and the second Body Collectors house were two of my favorites ever so stoked to see these characters back. Really hoping for more promotional stuff this year and not another dull commercial.
  16. Houses: 1. Halloween 2. Alien vs Predator 3. The Walking Dead: End Of The Line 4. Dollhouse of the Damned 5. From Dusk Till Dawn 6. Giggles N Gore 7. Roanoke 8. Dracula Untold Scarezones: 1. The Purge 2. MASKerade 3. Face Off 4. Blood on the Bayou
  17. Just woahhh 3 hour waits?! Some express lines were 20 minutes when I went on the 9th and it was busy. I bet they could have been an hour last night
  18. Halloween TWD Dollhouse From Dusk Til Dawn AVP Dracula Roanoke Giggles N Gore In that order
  19. Okay cool, I posted my review in that thread.
  20. Hey guys, I wanted to wait to post this review and think about the event for a few weeks before giving my thoughts on it. Like what really stuck with me and what didn't as I remember back to it. Because everything can seem awesome right afterwards. The true test is if it's more then a distant memory in a few weeks time..that sort of thing. Anyway I enjoyed it a lot. I really had fun. Probably even more so then last year. As before I don't really go to this event for the original content houses. They always come off as a been there, done that sort of thing for me. I've been to this event and Howl O Scream so many times now that I'm not really sure what they can do anymore that hasn't been done before. Most of the houses still use the standard template and the same boo holes. So when you throw in all the movie properties to that template it makes it exciting again for me because you not only get to walk through the movie but you get an interactive experience created from other people who love these movies. It's like a dream come true when it's pulled off right for horror fans. It's almost like a ride. And that leads me right to my favorite house of the event and one that I'll remember for a long time: Halloween: I have been waiting for this house since I first attended in 1995. I grew up watching the original and had extremely high expectations before going through this. It's one of my favorite movies of all time. So I saved it for damn near last because I was afraid that no matter all of the good things that I had read, that there was just no way this house would meet what I had wanted it to be. Well it did. From the placement of the house itself to Michael Myers mask. Everything was just spot on. I loved how this house was behind the rest of the park and the mood was really set with the visual on the iconic Myers house. The audio was amazing in the sequence that played out in the upstairs window. It was so immersive how the theme would start again after the scene played out. I loved that they built the house and it was a big picture moment as it should be. I do wish they had lit the pumpkin though but no big deal. Inside they nailed it. Scareactors never get me in these houses but a few got very close here. Michael Myers was very aggressive when he needed to be. A lot of great trickery and the Myers in the opening mirror scene scared the hell out of this little kid the second time I walked through. Just incredible sets all throughout. You would never know this was a tent house. They nailed the Annie scene and the kitchen scene with the famous head tilt. I loved how you walked through the original and not the remake overall. The mentioned room where you walk through all the Myers was awesome. I saw the real one get someone before walking in this room. I waited for him to come alive again but was very surpised when another actor was real that I didn't see and his knife was right in my face from the other side. Bravo guys. Loved the trick or treat scene with the third punch being Myers emerging from the fence. The living room set was amazingly recreated. His arm coming from the closet door was completely how it should be. The ending with Loomis which I caught the second time was a perfect way to end it too. It didn't just end in some dark room like some houses do. I knew the Myers behind the fence was there but still forgot the second time walking through. He got me because I was looking away and suddenly he was in my face. Bravo again The audio in this house was also incredible and I did like how they used those same triggers from the movie everytime Myers appeared. But what made it good was everytime you would hear the trigger, the music would become somber again. It was just an awesome experience that was very creepy. This easily gets House of the Year from me. The only scene I thought that could have been better was the Myers Ghost with the mannequin. I don't believe it was moving either time I went through like I saw in the video either. Still I'm glad they added Jamie Lee Curtis audio here to set the mood (I think they pulled that from Hollywood) I would have liked to see some upstairs scene where you see Myers from the top of the stairs but understand they couldn't do this in a tent house. That's really about it..I don't think the scene where Laurie is running from houses could have been pulled off in a haunted house either. So yeah they just knocked this out of the park. I was so stoked to see Michael Myers actually look like Michael Myers. In the walk throughs of the Hollywood houses I watched, the masks looked awful. But not here. This experience was completely worth the wait. In order to hit this a second time (I had express), I ran across the park from AVP with 8 minutes left from closing and was able to do it again. The express girl was messing with ropes or something, didnt scan my pass again and I was able to skip the still 90 minute line so that really worked out! lol I'll remember this one for awhile along with Nightmare On Elm Street & American Werewolf In London. 10/10 Aliens vs Predator: I was really excited for this one too and it pretty much met expectations. This felt more like a ride then a haunted attraction. Incredible sets and the puppets were jaw droppingly cool. Predator costumes weren't lame like Resident Evil either. I wish the xenomorph came out from different ways throughout this house but wow was it a geek out moment seeing it. It gets so close to your face too. I liked how they added in all the soldiers fighting the aliens but the egg room was underwhelming. That was just a set and one time I walked through the woman playing a solider didn't even do anything. The scene before the tunnel was extremely cool with the predator battling the xeno that you have to walk between. If you caught this scene it was another geek out moment because it was an assault of coolness from all sides. The final tunnel ending was awesome but the second time I walked through the puppet never moved. The first time you could clearly see it there. It wasn't a surprise. This is another one that I'll remember for a long time. Wish we had gotten the queen like in Hollywood but our puppets were far better. Also I think our facehugger room was better. 9/10 The Walking Dead: End Of The Line Did this one near last too because I didn't think it would live up to what I wanted it to be. In fact right after Halloween so it had a lot of expectations to meet too. But already from the que I could tell this year it would be much better. It's pretty intense just walking up to this house. The sets outside are incredible and the guardtower and aftermath are fucking cool. Plus Hershels head. Once you get inside things immediantly get less hectic though. I began thinking this could be like last years let down. But it got much better. You really do feel like you are walking through the aftermath of a prison that has went through hell. Loved that they had Patrick in the shower scene and I think the burning bodies. The Big Spot set is just awesome and the walkers looked a lot better this year. I didn't notice any stupid masks even though there was less make up then Hollywood. The only downfall here is the animatronic herd that goes way too slow. But this really picks up at the forest scene which was just awesome and actually pretty scary. I'm not sure what tricks they used there but it worked. It does feel like you are walking through a huge heard of walkers. That felt more like TWD then anything the event has done prior with the property. They just nailed that moment from the show with the simulated lightning from when Daryll and Beth were in the trunk. The rest of the sets like the creepy clubhouse, the funeral home, the crumbling cave & Terminus were all completely faithful to the show. Loved the hanging walkers throughout, the Terminus candle room and Mary serving meat. I didn't really see the burning walkers that were all over the posters for this event though? I thought the cabin scene was one of the most lack luster scenery wise. The walker scare actors were much more aggressive then I had seen them the past two years with one dude lunging his arm out of a door very close to a guest. I also loved the finale. I have no idea how many scareactors are out there because the strobelights are disorienting. It looks like a lot though. Way more then I'd ever seen before. I thought the actors were all behind cages and they weren't and one got me good when he jumped out. It might not make sense thematically with the rest of the house but I thought it was awesome. It felt like what it would be like to be in The Walking Dead. Curious to see what they will do with it now that Season 5 has started. There were a few dead rooms overall though where this felt kind of like walking through a historical tourist attraction. I also don't remember seeing the house Michonne and Carl visited with the daughters room and all the creepy paintings. I thought for sure it would be here but maybe that was too intense for the event with dead children. Overall though I liked it a lot and wish I could have walked through again. I know the helicopter was there in the Big Spot scene but also can't remember it. Would have liked to get a better look at everything. Still sad about AMCs restrictions with the characters but this is the closest the event has come to TWD. I understood more what they were going for here because you felt like you were walking through these enviornments after the characters had been there. If this really is the "End Of The Line" then they went out with a bang. 8.5/10 Dollhouse: I might not be afraid of haunted houses but I hate dolls. I loved this idea and couldn't wait to experience this house. A lot of really cool sets and yes that crib room was really creepy. I knew to look in the crib and those baby masks are pretty disturbing. I didn't see one of the actors at first, The ventriloquist room was awesome and loved the nod to Dead Silence here with Billy. I wish I would have seen Chucky since I heard he was here. The final ballerina room was sick and incredible to look at but not really sure what they were going for. The first one just screams at the guests for some reason. I coudln't figure it out...but hey it looked cool! lol One of my favorite originals in years. I wish I could have done it again. 8/10 Dusk Til Dawn: Opening scene and facade are awesome. First vampires were sexy but I don't think they even had teeth lol Don't really remember much from this house besides the opening and end scenes. Someone in the end scene got me the best all night. It might have been a fan but I was walking beside the curtain in the final bar shootout and all of a sudden it expanded largely right next to me. I didn't know what the hell it was but I moved by it quickly. It really would be funny if it was just a fan. 6/10 Giggles N Gore Inc: Biggest dissapointment of the night. I did think it felt longer then advertised but there are a lot of blank hallways. I didn't think the clowns were particularly creepy. The spookiest one was a mannequin hanging from the wall in one of the last rooms. And then of course the final one but it came too little too late. The girl scareactor over the guys guts was actally really cute. The crushing scene was disturbing and I liked the first room. The house in Hollywood looked way more disturbing and the clown house at Howl O Scream is definitely better. 5/10 Roanoke: Cool sets but I just don't care for the concept. The cannibals thing has been overdone. The scareactors were good and getting people in front of me though so bravo. One pilgrim guy was really interactive. Can't remember much from this one except the final room with the Wendigo. There was only one not two. It was cool that it was two stories but the Wendigo just felt like a stilt walker in the streets to me. Didn't do much for me 4.5/10 Dracula Untold: Did this first. Didn't even use express. Can't remember much from it but liked the simulated lightning scene and the burning village was cool. Think I saw Dracula at the end? Can't remember. Really cool sets though and the statue scene got someone. Huge waste of an IP though. 4/10 As far as the streets go, I really liked The Purge. Missed the auction scene though. I stood around and waited awhile to. I sort of caught the end of the van scene but never saw them again that night. The guy with the megaphone targetting guests was cool and man there was a few times those chainsaw guys could have really gotten me good. I was sitting there watching it all and didn't realize that one was right next to me. Never the less I appreciated how they were jumping in the air at people. A lot of energy. All the masks and environment was faithful to the movie too. Was dissapointed with all the other zones especially bayou of blood. Didn't think that was anywhere near as good as Howl O Scream. A lot of actors were standing around too. MASKerade had really cool costumes and make up though. And Face Off was the photo ops people thought it would be. Overall though, man I got my moneys worth. I did all the houses including Halloween & AVP twice, Transformers twice, Simpsons (tradition),and Despicable me. Express is still a must if you go, the lines were insane otherwise. And this was on Thursday, Oct 9th. Event overall: 8.5/10 (Just for those 4 houses alone) I also did Howl O Scream and it was actually a lot of fun too. The sets and atmosphere have improved greatly. The originals are probably closer to what people are asking for at HHN. I'll write a shorter review over on those forums if anybody wants to read. Happy Halloween!
  21. I can also attest to it being absolutely slammed on Thursday night (10/9). I thought it would be a little better being earlier in the season, non peak night, etc but was completely wrong. By now through all the years I've attended, I've learned there is no peak night and the only way to do everything comfortably is with express. So goodbye $120 lol. Still completely worth it. Anyway yeah the lines....I walked in about 6:45 or 7. TWD was already at 120 minutes. It dropped once to 90 minutes all night but generally stayed at 120. Dracula Untold said 10 minutes so I went ahead and did it, ended up being around 15 so not bad. AVP said 30-45 (can't remember) so did it while it was low so I could hit it again later and it actually ended up being that. The express line actually wasn't much shorter for it at that time. So that was awesome because right after it spiked to 60 and then 90 lol. I was surprised with the express lines overall this year. The past few years that I've gotten it, everything has been walk on to 5 minutes. That wasn't the case on Thursday. Quite a few lines were still around 20 minutes with the longest probably being Giggles N Gore which wrapped around twice. Granted that isn't horrible but these were $80 passes. Anyway I'm glad I didn't mess around too much and think I had more time then I did. Halloween & TWD were 120 all night I believe. AVP was around 90 and I think reached 120 at one point. Dracula Untold was 45 at one point but I don't think it went higher. The rest were all 60-75 minutes. The lines to TWD, Halloween & Dollhouse looked the most insane to me. Halloween looked by far the worst and could have actually been longer then 120. Even at 12:50 AM that line was still wrapping all the way back taking up most of the que. If anyone is reading this and still needs to go, I would not recommend doing it without an express pass. If the lines were that bad this early, it is probably going to get a lot worse. I'll write a review tomorrow. I had a great time.
  22. For those not following twitter, here's a rundown whats been said about the houses: AVP has awesome sets & puppets. Not a lot of scare actors and not as good as AWIL but still great. (Wow at the puppets and sets in Hollywood) Halloween is fantastic. Amazing sets and good scares. Haven't heard anything bad about it. That facade is stunning Roanoke is claimed to be the goriest house at HHN in awhile, great finale. Dollhouse has been listed as both creepy and funny. Great sets again From Dusk Til Dawn has a good beginning and end. The middle isn't anything special. A lot of mixed reviews Only two review sfor TWD but said its better then the previous 2 years with a lot of creative scares and scenes. It's long. Only a few reviews for Dracula, supposed to have great atmosphere but not much else. Giggles & Gore is really good, gory, interactive, old school HHN. Not as short as advertised.
  23. Houses: 1) Halloween - all time favorite horror movie property, so stoked to see were getting it finally. 2) AVP: Alien VS Predator - The alien puppets should be amazing, can't wait to see the set design. Hope the predators don't look lame. 3) The Walking Dead: The End of the Line - really excited to see the set design. Hope there is more scareactors this year. 4) Dollhouse of the Damned - I hate dolls, so it should be creepy. Concept sounds really interesting. 5) Dracula Untold: Reign of Blood - I think the set design will be great, thinking this could be like Dead Silence. 6) Roanoke: Cannibal Colony - Since it's in the parade building, expecting great scenery. Concept sounds sick. 7) From Dusk TIll Dawn - Happy to see it but the idea has been done at both HHN & Howl O Scream already. 8) Giggles & Gore Inc. - Love the idea of another clown house..but not that it's only 7 rooms. Scarezones: 1)The Purge: Anarchy - Didn't like the first movie much but enjoyed the second. It's perfect for HHN. Tons that they can do with the idea and a lot of different characters. 2) Bayou of Blood 3) MASKerade: Unstitched 4) Face Off: In The Flesh

    Nearly Died

Wow I can't believe you still went after your car rolled. Glad your safe dude but that is the last thing I would want to do after experiencing a car accident like that. I've personally been in a car that rolled and walked away with a few cuts while my friend (the driver) had to be airlifted to the hospital. I doubt anything at the event scared you even remotely close to that accident. The event doesn't scare me as is, but that definitely would. I'm terrified of car accidents.
  25. Yeah I completely agree dude. I think they could have done so much more with the elevator room which made it a letdown but oh well. Glad Resident Evil was fixed! I only had enough money to attend once.
