  1. For all intents and purposes, it's an icon year. We'll likely never again see something like we had during the true icon years. But I'm going to enjoy this year's event to the damn fullest because there may not be any form of an icon again until the 30th anniversary, and maybe not even then.
  2. I'd add that it's also not worth the gamble. Getting your pass revoked would be more terrifying than any of the houses.
  3. What did it feel like? I know that's kind of vague, but any comparisons or past examples?
  4. The elevator shaft from the hospital would be a good scene to include.
  5. They do a biometric finger scan on your first use, so no, no one except the original pass holder can use the pass. Or...are you meaning, going with someone else who has an event pass, but taking your brother's ticket to only scan for Express? If that's the case, that's a good question. I'm inclined to think the express would still be active even if not scanned in at the gate that evening. Disney magic bands with booked fast passes can be used for the FP without scanning through the main gate. I've done it. Not the same technology though, of course.
  6. I'll be there opening night as well, and then generally Thursday nights and then Wednesday nights when they start up, and maybe an occasional Sunday night, That's a long way of saying I'll be there opening weekend for sure.
  7. It's been difficult to find them, but if you go like you're going to purchase a ticket, you can click on dates within the calendar and it will show the closing times. 1am is the earliest they will close on non-peak and then 2pm on peak nights - Fri & Sat. EDIT: I believe the only exception to this is opening weekend. I'm pretty sure I read that the Fri and Sat night of the 18th and 19th close at midnight.
  8. My boss was actually telling me he saw a commercial for the event this past weekend. However, he's not into the event. But he has two middle school aged daughters and they're all AP holders so he ends up taking them on one of the AP nights, begrudgingly. So unfortunately he couldn't elaborate much, at all, on what the commercial detailed.
  9. They can have HHN's Eddie vs. Iron Maiden's Eddie.
  10. That was my initial reaction, anything that can eat crowds is a plus with me. Hopefully it's true. And it may very well be true. But then tomorrow it's could no longer be true.
  11. I don't like to pass unconfirmed info from other boards like this, but someone on OU just now said they got confirmation that Escape From Gringotts will be open nightly until midnight during HHN. Anyone else hear anything about this?
  12. I guess it depends when you hit it. But for the past 11 years I've been going, it's had some long lines the majority of the time. Disaster and tent 2 are my least favorite queues as they're just back and forth, you can see the entire line. If you go at the beginning of the night, it's usually manageable. But you also have the daylight still factoring in. A lot of people are looking forward to this one, so we'll see.
  13. And that's a good point. When we heard the leaked list, it was sort of implied as a versus type environment. But after the reveal and reading about it, it certainly seems more of a combined effort. A two for one deal - for us. A merged storyline.
  14. I can only guess that marketing is what it is here nowadays simply because it can. They don't need to do much more, they're selling tickets left and right, breaking attendance records as is, so they likely don't feel a need to do anything more than the status quo. I need to check out this Singapore site, stat! They're now what we were. After a few years, they'll get a generic site and marketing campaign as well.
  15. They can't use Bloody Mary, she's trademarked by someone else. But they can have some of the characters from that year.
  16. I'm thinking they'll have the same traditionals in the zone like 2013's quasi roaming group. Was that 2013?
  17. Man, that profile pic!! Yeah, in this instance Run is a relative term. You'll be walking. But you can run out of those house if you choose.
  18. What are your thoughts on seeing Insidious over here? I'm psyched for it and watched the YouTube videos of both of your houses and thought they looked awesome.
  19. You can. They'll do anything to get more money. Narwhals incident can happen if you get unlucky and end up with someone new or not so bright at the services window. But lots of people upgrade with no issues. Just make it clear to them that you're wanting it for the rest of your FFP nights.
  20. Mine too. Please oh please make the pumpkins sync up with Bloody Mary in '08. One can dream. I just thrilled those damn pumpkins are back!
  21. I think we'll get a good idea how they came to get their assistants. I think Asylum will have the comedy aspect for this year.
  22. I think it will stay pretty sinister the whole way though. As it should be. I hope it will be.
  23. Believe me, this topic has been debated ad nauseam since the list was leaked in April.
  24. Never saw Hollywood's. From those that saw both, the most common comparisons I've read were Orlando had better puppets but Hollywood had extended scenes, or one extended scene, like Piccadilly. But if they're improving the wolves here as mentioned, which they were amazing to begin with, I'm very curious to see what happens.
