  1. No, these definitely weren't the e-prompts. For example, last year in Giggles and Gore there was a button with a big "press me" sign. When you pressed it, it sprayed some water and made a loud noise. Some aren't so obvious as that but they're placed in locations that are within reach of the line path. Penn & Teller's house was the first I recall that used them. And I think that year TWD house had one near the phone. When the button was pressed a recording came on. However, I am curious if any scareactors on this board have had their prompts accidentally triggered by guests?
  2. Sounds like they've got the hots for both of you! Or you have really pretty eyes.
  3. I agree. Whenever I go through the 3D houses I find myself thinking more of how a certain scene would be better as a traditional house. I only went through this house on Friday and it wasn't memorable to the point where I skipped it on Saturday. However, I'll go through it some more before an official judgment. So many things can improve from opening weekend, just in general. I think In Between had to have been a fluke as it was the best 3D house, imo, they've done and I don't even think they expected it to be. However, they have to know what works so why not keep some of those unique effects that work in 3D?
  4. BTW, did anyone come across interactive buttons in any of the houses? I heard of them being out there from some of the media night crew interviews but I don't recall seeing anything that was obvious or stuck out as a press me type button/switch. At the same time, I can't say I was looking for them either. But it just popped into my head right now for some reason.
  5. It was pretty bizarre. In all my years going, I've never been held up in one location like that. I'll give props to the scareactors as they did the best they could in that situation. They couldn't hide and pop back out while we're all still standing there so they took it to the next level.
  6. Seriously, how can any of us post pictures after seeing these?? Just amazing!!
  7. I think it worked for me because on our Friday night run through, we had the strangest thing happen. For whatever reason the line stopped. It was like a ride breaking down. I've never had that happen in a house. And I still have no idea what held us up. We were stuck in the Forsaken area for probably a good 60 seconds. That's a long time to be in one particular area, at least it felt that way. The whole time the actors were practically jumping over the barriers to get to us and with the added time I got a really good look at their masks/make-up. It was actually pretty cool. Compare that to another regular run through we had and it wasn't quite as intense.

    The Purge

Speaking of leftover Scream items, did anyone notice the Jiffy Pop popcorn (all popped) on the stove in the kitchen scene?
  9. Totally agree. We all know how corporate the event is now and it's a sound business move by them to, quite frankly, force people to visit HHN on multiple nights. There's just no way to see it all in one night without going all out and using every trick in the book. It can be done. But you're also not fully enjoying and taking it all in. Until they think they've reached maximum revenue return with keeping it in one park as is, expanding back to IOA is on hold. Just my opinion, mind you. But to use a hotel term, right now they're chief concern is putting "heads in beds." Don't get me wrong, they still put on an amazing event. But I think it's going to explode in the next few years and in a negative way. They've been on the crest for quite a few years now and a trough is inevitable.
  10. And that's exactly how it was. But the final battling...I don't know how to explain, you'd have to see it. It wasn't what I was expecting. I need to hit it up a few more times. It's a great house. But I just found myself walking out not seeing a clear cut winner. Without giving it away, both won the battle. That's the feeling I left with.
  11. Flat out rocked! I can do this house endless times and it will still be amazing. It'll be so great for those that missed some of the previous years with a lot of those past scenes being showcased. And my group and I said the same thing as Chance and others mentioned: it's is very long. It seemed like we were in there for a decent amount of time. Lots of love went into this house.
  12. They could've at least added a live actor in the SL Pub to start out with. I didn't mind the house on the whole. I hit it during a cast change, unfortunately, on Friday. The transformation scene was empty. Just the cracking sound effects playing. But hey, I've already seen it two years ago so I wasn't missing anything anyway. The wolves are extreme, in a good way.
  13. I only went through once and I was so confused as to who won. In my run through, it clearly looked to be Jason, but then right after that, it seemed to be Freddy. The 3 others with me said the same thing. Both scenes/images contradicted themselves. And just to reiterate earlier posts here: Jason is just a behemoth. I mean, damn! You must have to be at least 6'4" to be cast.
  14. Thank you because for the life of me I saw nothing remotely close to an explanation for that. Now, I do feel a little guilty as I made a post about it saying how the house was a prequel and would explain the origins. Orlando Sentinel posted that tidbit the night of media preview. And yes, it is rather shocking that media can post false claims. (Sarcasm there). At the same time, these houses have soooo much detail but unless you do an UTH tour, you can't see those fine details with the darkness.
  15. I recall reading someone's post a while back that said Uni wants to always keep it in just the one park. And IOA has a lot of narrow spaces which can bottle neck the already large crowds. I believe that was a main reason for no longer holding it there. Though it sounded like an extra house this year along with Diagon open would be a crowd eater, Uni just sells that many more tickets considering it additional capacity space. I can't help but think that the reason they don't have as many official sellouts during the season is because they just keep selling more tickets rather than cap them. This is just speculation by me, no proof to offer. It almost happened this year; but having an upcharge house is going to be their next move, I think. And that's really a damn shame. Now, being the 25th anniversary, they did do a huge social media marketing campaign with a large portion of it targeting out of state/country demographics and that campaign started very early this year, months ago.
  16. To echo what a few others have said - that was by far the busiest opening night I've seen going back at least 5-6 years. I figured it would be busier for the 25th, but not like this, so early in the run. This is just my 2nd year with an EP (last year was the first) and I never waited as long as I did for EP lines this weekend than any night I went last year. It was anywhere from 20-45 minutes in some EP lines. My shortest wait was close to 5 minutes for Insidious when it was showing 90 min standby. Go figure. Maybe I'll try typing a review for the first time in the review thread. But a few quick mentions, also as most have said: M&M is flat out off the chain amazing. It gets going just as soon as you go in. Definitely a house you can do many runs on and keep noticing different things. Definitely my # 1 right now. Body Collectors is right there too. And lastly, Insidious was everything as advertised. All 3 of these are can't miss. Unfortunately, I didn't find myself all that impressed with any of the scare zones. Granted it was all about the houses this weekend for us so our time in the zones was relegated to going through them on the way to other mazes. I felt like there weren't many scare actors in most. Could be a first weekend thing. And the music being used feels more like a rock concert than eerie Halloween themed ambient noise. I'm not saying they were bad by any means, just initial impressions. My whole group all agreed and this was our 12th consecutive year. This Thursday I'll spend more times in the zones.
  17. No problemo. I did look like a fool when I showed up at the gate last year on that same Sunday just assuming it was a HHN night! I was thinking, wow, lines will be really short tonight.
  18. Just FYI, Sundays start next week. Tomorrow is an off night.
  19. OMG! Lines are huge. Super packed. Still in Purge line for first house. Posted 35 min. At 25 min mark with at 20 to go.
  20. The GF and me at HHN right now. JDW where are you?
  21. The weather outlook for tonight keeps improving each time I check it today. It was looking a little sketchy earlier today when looking at the times between 6p-9p but it's vastly improving. The HHN Gods are smiling down on us!
  22. Do the lanyards have 25th Anniversary type themes on them?
  23. Can you smell that in the air?? It's Horror Nights. Happy Opening Day everyone! Those are all pretty cool. I especially like the Jack and Chance sculptures.
