  1. I've been through those squeeze tunnels quite a few times at different places. It's amazing to me the range of how tight (how much air) they can be. At least once or twice it was actually kinda hard even for me to push through. The only real problem with those is when someone gets a panic attack in the middle and wants to go back but can't since there are people blocking the way. Has Universal ever used that type of tunnel over the past several years? With the number of people constantly going through the houses, I think it might be tough to use it. I'd much rather go through a tunnel like that instead of doing the crawl tunnel. After walking all night (and usually day) my back is already about to sever and it's usually extra painful to do any crawling or ducking. Edit: After looking at the scare products catalog I noticed another big difference that I didn't mention besides the tightness... the length. I've been through some short ones and long ones. I don't think I've been through the 32 footer though... that seems pretty long!
  2. I wonder if there is any chance that some portion of the Murder House section will be decorated for Halloween like in the Halloween episodes. Am I the only one that got a kick out of the fact that the guy who plays the part of Chad's (Zachary Quinto) partner Patrick is the guy who plays Zoom from the CW's Flash? I rewatched season 1 this weekend and I was like... wait... That guy is Zoom.
  3. 1. Halloween 2 - I grew up watching Halloween & Halloween 2 every year for the Halloween holiday, so it has a special place in my heart. 2. Krampus - Definitely hoping it's cold and I'm really excited to see all the different characters (especially Krampus himself). 3. Tomb of the Ancients - I'm hoping for some excellent scenic and costumes. 4. American Horror Story - Mainly because I want to see how well they reconstruct the material. 5. Texas Chainsaw Massacre - I've never been through a quality recreation of this film, so I'm looking forward to see this version. 6. Ghost Town - I like the Western feel in houses, so this one should be decent. 7. The Exorcist - This has the potential to be the flop of the year. Taking creative liberties on a classic like this just to use it as a house could be a mistake. 8. The Walking Dead - Could still be enjoyable, but I would have prefered to see the permanent attraction Hollywood got. 9. Lunatics Playground 3d - It's 3d, so I have little to no faith. 10. The Repository - A gimmick that costs an extra $50 and isn't even going to be running the weekend I'm there isn't getting me very excited.
  4. I'M kinda feeling the same way. Although Murder House was probably my 2nd favorite season, I don't see how it translates very well into a house really. The characters were what made the 1st season good and there is no real character development in a house... so I'm not sold on that season. Hotel was my least favorite season of the show. It had it's moments, but overall it really seemed to drag on and really just wasn't all that good and that is why it lost quite a few viewers during it's run. Denis O'Hare playing Liz Taylor was the best part of that season. Freak Show probably had some of the best characters of the whole series with Twisty and Edward Mordrake (with his dead band of freaks). I suppose there is some material they could use there at least. I'm definitely in the they should have used season 2 (Asylum) boat. Yeah... It's swell and dandy that they may use it next year, but we're in this year and this was supposed to be the MEGA HOUSE. Guess we'll see how mega it turns out soon enough. I'll be interested to see how we transition from 1 season to the next. All I wanted was to hear this in the house....
  5. It appears as though the Hollywood version is getting Murder House, Freak Show, and Hotel to work with. I hope our version has the Asylum from season 2... but... apparently it doesn't. Why would they not have used material from the best season of the show?
  6. How come Hollywood announced AHS and we have no announcement?
  7. I don't mind if they do it again next year. It would be nice if they chilled out with the price increases and possibly offered stuff like this during the whole event. They spent the money to put this VR thing together and because they supposedly got a late start they aren't offering it the first 2 weeks. That just seems ridiculous to me. Maybe the price could have been a little bit lower if they had those extra weeks factored into the budget. I've actually never used a vr headset. To be honest, I'm a little concerned about trying it because my eyes are somewhat sensitive to light. For those of you that have used a similar headset before, how bright is it on your eyes?
  8. Do we know officially how long the whole thing is? If I had to guess, I'd say 30 minutes, but I'd laugh if it was only like 15 minutes or so. The added $50 price probably wouldn't seem quite as bad if they hadn't already jacked up the ticket prices too. This year they seem to be going all out with the $ grabbing. I seriously hope they don't continue the trend of price increases next year.
  9. The above example (wheelchair lady) is what I want to avoid. I'm only thinking about bringing 1 of my pill bottles in, but I don't want to cause a scene. I especially want to avoid getting into a verbal argument with security and then have it ruin a good portion of my night from being aggravated. I know I could easily smuggle some pills in, but with my luck, when I go to take 1 out of the baggy a cop will see me and do who knows what to me depending on their mood that day. There is no way I'm leaving my prescription (which can't be replaced even if stolen) at the first aid station though. That would be ridiculous. So I suppose the semi-worst case scenario is if I bring my bottle, show them, and they give me bs, I'd then have to go back to my hotel and drop the bottle off. If I smuggle them and get caught taking them I wonder if they would even care? I think I'm just scarred from the 1 time TSA actually locked me in a holding cell in the basement of the Providence airport for having a bunch of cash (under the 10k maximum without forms if traveling abroad) and a few days worth of meds (in a day planner pack) without the prescription pill bottles. That was one of the most ridiculous things that has ever happened to me. They threatened to steal/confiscate my money and a TSA agent actually spoke with my wife on the phone and were trying to convince her that I might be going to see a girlfriend on the west coast. Nothing but professionals there. I guess I was typing as the posts were moved over to the Security Concerns thread... oops.
  10. Speaking of bringing things into the park... I know each year they've given us a bit of guff for even bringing in a small vial size bottle of Advil. This year I plan on bringing in my pain meds in the prescription bottle. Anyone ever have issues bringing in meds like this? I honestly can't see how they wouldn't let me through, but with each year security everywhere we go gets more strict.
  11. We wouldn't even go to the event without express. I can't even imagine how rough it's been for you waiting in those lines. This is one instance where paying the extra is well worth it. Once you experience the difference, there will be no going back. I'd imagine this year will especially be worth it considering the lineup. I think the lines this year are going to be epicly bad.
  12. There was some serious cattling going on in that house, especially compared to all the other ones over there. The cattling was probably only a little worse than the level we see at every house at HHN though.
  13. Not to get too sidetracked here, but... There was 1 part that stood out so much that made it more realistic. We somehow ended up in a room where a soldier actor went absolutely ballistic on us using f bombs and everything. We were stunned at how pissed off he was at us which made it all the better. It could have been done much better, but it was still fun. If your issue was a matter of overall quality, I could understand that point. It was a bit cheesy. Nothing wrong with a little cheese now and then though.
  14. I envisioned a briefing and then a search of the warehouse where you discover the headset to travel to the other side (vr). You do your thing there and then have a real life finisher of some sort after the ghosts cross over into our world.
  15. I guess that is a whole nother issue. Considering how much it costs to go for 1 night with express, will it be worth dumping another $50 to lose time out of your night that is generally jam packed as it is? ^^^^ "My reasons are valid. It's no different than doing the "Zombie Containment Unit." The gimmick stands out and ruins the idea. Just feels lazy." The one at HOS? Gimmicky yes... but you didn't enjoy it? We had a blast going through it. It was one of the highlights of the whole visit there.
  16. I'm not so sure it is all vr though. It does say, "highly themed physical environments". If I had to guess, I'd think that it was closer to a 50/50 worth of real life interaction vs wearing the headset. But who knows? I don't think it says how long it is either. Is it fifteen minutes or an hour. That would make a pretty big difference in my mind of whether or not it is worth the $50.
  17. Not sure if we would have purchased the new upgrade, but I do think it's pretty lame that even if we wanted we can't since they're starting it Sept. 29th. I see they're really going all out with the milking of every dollar possible from us fans this year. I wonder just how many tickets they're selling for this upgrade... I also wonder how much real life action vs vr will be taking place. Is this going to be a yearly thing, or will it depend on how much more $ they rake in?
  18. I wonder if the reanimated fisherman will be your run of the mill zombie or if they'll be more of a mutation type like the crew of the Flying Dutchman (Pirates of the Caribbean).
  19. It's supposed to be a parade, so do you think they will have floats rolled out in the middle of the street?
  20. Mine as well do the list... 1. Dead Man's Wharf - I'm down for some reanimated fishermen to land in the SF area. I just hope there is lots of fog and hopefully it's not too crowded. 2. Banshee's Lair - mostly because it's potential location... Almost all of the scare zones over there in that area are decent. 2.5... Roaming hordes - They always add to the fun. 3. Vamp - I'm hoping it's an actual parade with floats spread out and under siege. The 50's music playing will add to the effect. 4. and 5. are interchangeable depending on which is over in NY and which is by the entrance. I haven't really enjoyed anything by the entrance since Esqueleto Muerte (HHN 20) due to the amount of foot traffic.
  21. If I am "airing my first world problems for all to see" this would be a decent place to do it. Not sure about a bj, but considering the absurd increase in ticket prices I should at least get a quick handy. Who knows what the finished product might be, but I'm pretty sure it won't have a permanent TWD attraction, Death Eaters, or interactive marketing materials, so like I said, we're getting a little shafted. If Orlando doesn't get the Walking Dead attraction next year, I might just book my trip out west instead to check them out. Unfortunately I'm currently not quite "first world" enough financially to do both coasts each year.
  22. Why would I not go in it? I'm obviously paying decent money to see what Universal has thrown together. With that being said, I've yet to go through a 3d house that is really that good and I've been through a lot of them over the years (not just HHN). It doesn't matter if I know anything about this house, I know that it's 3d and that is enough for me to know that it will be at the bottom of my list. You're allowed to have your opinions on 3d and I'm entitled to mine. I'm not about to boycott the event because they decided to run with a fad for another year. Though I understand the frustration of those who are opposed to TWD returning over the past few years, I understand why they do it at least ($). The 3d thing however, I honestly don't get (which was was why I was curious if there are actually fans of it). As far as the taking the glasses on and off... For 1, they never fit correctly on my head especially while walking and rubbing up against stuff (room dividing stuff hanging from the ceiling). 2nd, If they're doing an on and off 3d setup, I'd prefer to not wear the glasses in non-3d rooms (assuming they even do it this way). I really enjoy taking in the scenic when I go through the houses (one of the main reasons I attend the event). I find it less enjoyable doing so while wearing glasses that mess with my vision. I'd prefer to see their hard work with 100% visibility. Granted, some of the paint work on occasion can be really interesting in 3d, it's not the type of horror or entertainment I'm looking for when I go to events like this. I just think that they had an opportunity to present Chance with a great concept, but instead, they decided to squander it by using 3d. I'm sure that once everyone goes through it come Sept/Oct most will agree (unless you actually enjoy 3d).
  23. Ha... I read through quick and didn't even catch the date. I forgot that this thread opened ages ago. So many new threads I got confused.
  24. Notice that the glowing skeleton in the picture is holding 2 pistols. I wonder if they actually took the guns out of the house. I know that I'll be on the lookout when I go through to see if they skimped or not. Ghost Town skeletons are required to have pistols in my book.
  25. As far as the originals go, this is the one I'm the most interested in checking out (now that Chance is 3d) . I have a feeling the scenic is going to be quite impressive. I'm also intrigued by what creature is lurking in these tombs. This has the potential of being a solid house.
