Those projections are awesome. If they are used the same way in scarezones this year then i really think they will add a whole new dimension to the areas. Especially horror based projections. Can't wait to see the scarezones this year.

I think you are right that they seem to be doing away with the icon backgrounds but that doesn't mean i gotta to be happy about it. And i'm not. Considering all the flak they got last year about Fear not being fleshed out and used more (and Lady Luck seems to be even less fleshed out at least we knew Fear was pulling the strings for the last 20 years) i really thought they would not do that again. I mean it wasn't just the forum people etc that were complaining last year, am i the only one to hear the general public saying things like "Whats this guys deal?" while looking at Fear pose and walking around the event last year. I just don't get it, they plan this event for a year. They do the hard work of coming up with an entertaining concept then do nothing to flesh it out. I find it odd as they have nothing to lose from making the character three dimensional but a lot to lose by not doing so. I'll still enjoy the event and i suspect most of you will too but i have to wonder that if this trend continues if it will have a detremental effect on the event in some peoples minds. I so don't want that, i love this event. I gotta ask the question is there anyone out there who actually likes a icon/mascot with no backstory more than one with a history and reason for doing what they do? If so tell me why?

You know what Cramer? I'm in total agreement with everything you said there. On the whole the event looks great, interesting scarezones and houses and on paper it looks a better event than last year which I enjoyed also. Where I am dissapointed so far is in Lady Luck. Who is she? Why is she here this year (please tell me she isn't just bored and decided to strap guys to a spinning wheel lol)? What powers does she have other than turning monstrous (which isn't that original kinda reminds me of a vampire in Buffy)? Now I agree that there is still time for these things to be revealed but I've heard a few whispers that they won't and that they aren't gonna give her a background. This is disappointing because at the moment she's just a random character stuck at the head of the event. She reminds me of a movie without a plot, pointless. Really hoping they develope this character but even if they don't I think this years event is going to be great though. I can't wait.

H.R. Bloodengutz Presents: Holidays Of Horror It was pretty tough to rank these as the top four im almost equally excited about. Nightingales if done correctly as a trench could be really good too especially with large explosion and shelling sounds. Saw N Steam i'm a bit concerned about. I never seem to like the houses set in Jaws (i don't know why) and i can't shake the feeling that this is going to turn out like Saw, the least favorite house i've ever been through. I'm not overly impressed with the photo we've seen of the floating heads from The In Between as they look like something out of a cheap fairground haunted House. That might be a bit unfair but i don't have anything else to go on. I'm not sure how the 3d works in a house either having never done a 3d house before. It could blow me away or it could suck. I've put Holidays Of Horror last purely because i'm not keen on comedy houses. I'll still give it a look though it might surprise me. Overall i'm much more excited about these houses than last years and i think it's going to be a good event.

I think Fear was a good idea badly followed up on. He might actually be a decent character if they actually did something with him. Saying that id be very surprised to see him this year.

The e mail was only sent out to the top 10 on the website leaderboard and the people who recieved cards from Facebook. If you didn't match either of these conditions i'm afraid you won't get an e mail. It basically entitles those people to an early reveal from one of the creators of the event as a reward for supporting their build up i think. I know Fallow and myself got an e mail but did any other members on here get one? Be interesting to know just who on here will be sitting watching their inbox come 11.30pm tonight lol

I can't see another meet up thread so I'm answering here. As you know I'm there that night so I'd be up for a meet. Be a good chance for a group photo

I was more referring to how you get from the trenches to the hospital in the house not the fact you dont need medics in a war lol. I was thinking too logically I guess, I suppose one room could be the trenches and the next could be the hospital.

Omg I must be so slow. That looks like a world war 1 trench. All the talk of a hospital must have distracted me from what that war was known for. A house that is us walking through a trench could be scary as hell especially if they play loud shelling noises. I wonder how the hospital ties into it?

You know what? I think that is an excellent idea. I really like that a lot. It would certainly explain the two sides of fate and give meaning to the red and black other than colors of the cards. Good speculation.

I've not made my mind up about anything, I've just passed comment on what I've seen. An incomplete commercial. I trust people like Legacy when they say we haven't seen the full thing and that there is lots more to come. Even if there wasn't I'm sure the event will be great anyway. I thought Fear was a let down last year but I still massively enjoyed the overall event. I'm patiently waiting and keeping an open mind til the full reveal.

Gotta agree that room looks awesome. I'm really looking forward to that house now. In fact I love the sound of all the houses this year, I wonder what the scarezones will be like.

I gotta agree 100 percent, if I want to see an angry woman I'll stop here in England and save a fortune lol. I want to see some imaginative, scary and otherworldly. It's definately not the fact that she's a woman as one of my favorite icons was Bloody Mary, she was scary just to look at. I cannot of course make my decision on her until weve seen the full Lady Luck. It wouldn't be fair. My thoughts are based on my first impression which do unfortunately last. I'll be happier if she is Lady Hawthorn because then at least there will be a reason why were watching a woman in an evening gown rather than a otherworldly creature. Regardless of whether she improves I still think it will be a great event.

That was the premise that i posted last week so you are thinking along the same lines as me. It would make an interesting back story but i desperately want to see her darker side if that background turns out to be true.

Its also very very similar to English graveyards. The main thing that shouts British though is the title Lady. Lords and Ladies are very much a British thing in my opinion. I'm not writing Lady Luck off just yet as i'm desperately hoping that she has more to offer. I mean she has to right?

Actually i thought she did sound British. Don't forget we have different accents in different parts of England just like you guys do over there. She was wearing what i'd expect from a Lady hosting some sort of dinner party or evening ball too. I might be way off on this as that short clip really isn't enough to go on. Time will tell.

I have to agree with most of you this commercial is pretty dissapointing even if it isn't the full trailer. I actually liked the commercial last year it made me want to go to the event (it was the Fear in the park or lack of him that dissapointed me) but this years teaser does nothing for me at all. I still think it's Lady Hawthorn but obviously the reveal of her other side could make me change my mind. Difficult to say where they are going with this but at the moment i'd be more scared by Barney.

Oh i'm loving the fact the icon/mascot has the same hair as the card. Has anyone blown up the new image yet to see if the other half of the card reveals anything like a previous poster asked?

It would be a great idea in my opinion. All they have to do is put up polite notices saying "Please don't ask scareactors for photos they are busy being terrifying. If you'd like a photo with our characters please go to ..... where you can pose with them and get a photo. Thanks." They could also put this on the map you get when you go in. Everybody happy, everybody wins and the illusion of the scarezones is kept intact. It's not hard to implement, it's not gonna up Universals budget hardly at all and they have improved the event. I would also add that there is plenty of room on the map to put a character appearance schedule on it. For example 7pm- 7.30pm Characters from Saws and Steam. 7.30pm- 8pm Characters from The Coven scarezone etc etc etc. Damn I wished I worked for Universals development team lol
