  1. OH SHIT!!! A few things. The big one for me: Bloomberg mistakenly published an obituary or steve jobs at one point, and when rumors started going around that he died, he went on Apple's "key note" and said "Reports of my death are greatly exaggerated." quoting Mark Twain! Colfer has a new novel coming out in the Fall of 2011 called "Plugged". (wikipedia) Plugged, by Eoin Colfer, is an upcoming Noir/Crime Novel due for release in Fall of 2011. The first glimpse of a cover was shown in a 2011 interview on YouTube with Artemis Fowl Confidential. It is now up on Amazon and the publisher's webpage in a slightly revised format. And as for Peter falk, he did Murder, Inc which is named after an actual gang in the 1920's. (wikipedia) Murder, Inc. (or Murder Incorporated or the Brownsville Boys; known in syndicate circles as The Combination) was the name given by the press to organized crime groups in the 1920s through the 1940s that resulted in hundreds of murders on behalf of the American Mafia and Jewish Mafia groups who together formed the early organized crime groups in New York and elsewhere. The name was a journalistic invention.
  2. We generally skipped the review, but we went for the first time two years ago, and I loved the idea of it. The actors weren't amazing... (no offense if some are on here), so I would love to see it done with a better cast. Plus, it's hard to go wrong with Rocky Horror. Not impossible, but hard.
  3. Is it just my browser, or is the Update Checker....not updated?
  4. I wasn't a huge fan of this house only because I feel like Uni has the ability to make you feel like you're in SPACE. I just felt like I was walking around a trashy spaceship set. I would want that feeling of being far away from any kind of help what so ever. I mean, imagine like I said walking through a cockpit and seeing earth and all the stars outside the window while you're being attacked
  5. So, as for wishful thinking, I would like to see a new "futuristic" house, cause I dont think Uni has gotten it right just yet. Something like Jason X kind of stuff. Space serial killer, spaceship feel where you walk through a hallway or a cockpit where you feel like you're looking out into space just as someone sneaks up behind you...
  6. bruinsfan, I think you made the exact list I would have. Good job. Also, I would have to agree I dont see the big deal of catacombs. It was a great house, but I have definitely been through better. As for a few more to add to bruinsfan's I wouldnt mind seeing again: -"Run" style chainlink fence, MAZE feel houses. -"superstitions" the idea of mental psychological fears brought to life -"house of wax" only for the confusion between props and real scareactors -"Creatures!" with the redneck, shotgun alien battle sequel. Who wins?!?
  7. I think this is a great point, and it's very possible we'll see something along these lines. Maybe we'll be seeing a specific fictional casino or "House" to go through. But if you also think back to HHN19, it was also the year of the three Chuckie, Wolfman, and Saw, which all had their own houses. So maybe we'll see a list of characters dealing with Fate, Chance, Luck etc. who will have their own backstory and theme, as well as a main icon that has the connection to the fictional casino/House.
  8. Yeah, I think it's interesting that we see a queen and an ace as opposed to a Jack, which you would normally associate with blackjack or "21".
  9. I was just talking about Ghost Town in the wishful thinking thread, and based on the update, I would love to see the old school western blackjack table as opposed to any Las Vegas modernized theme.
  10. I was having the same problem while I was on vacation. If you try to pull up halloweenhorrornights.com on your phone's browser it will only send you to a generic information sight, and houses are still up from last year. I haven't found a way yet to view the actual sight on a smart phone (ateast an iPhone, which is what I'm using)
  11. All the ones I listed, I went through their originals and sequels (minus People Under The Stairs) and enjoyed them all immensely. I liked the idea of seeing a sequel or a house that I enjoyed in years past. Im not saying they necessarily were better, but I think they at least did them justice, and made for great houses. Besides, at least it's not an every year sequel, like HoS
  12. Oh man. Called it. I like that Florida residents + Express comes to $85 or so!
  13. Agreed, but I'd have to say the War of the Living Dead scarezone did pretty well for me. And I'm thinking something along those lines, only with flats and facades along one side of the street and moveable props/fixtures throughout. Something to give the illusion of a strip of stores and saloons. You could even make one or two accessible, kind of like the Skool House. But yeah, I would have to agree it would make a better HH. That I'd have to disagree with. The majority of rehashes or sequels I enjoyed quite a bit. Scream House, Psychoscareapy, Scary Tales, People Under The Stairs. I think the key is to not take the concept of an older house and call it something else. (I.e. Frightanic/Ship of Screams)
  14. Yeah, I remember Ghost Town. I was a pretty big fan of that one. Maybe then for more of a scarezone than a house, but to actually create a old western zombie hoard. Spare no expense on packing 50 scareactors into one scarezone (half way exaggerating on the number) and set them amidst dilapidated saloons and general stores. Yeah buddy! I'd be more rightly scared than a jack rabbit pounced on by a bobcat, dun diddily!
  15. So no one really responded before when I asked, but is there a place I can get like a legit synopsis of what's gone on so far with the LT?
  16. haha I think that's the perfect way to describe Uni. As for the updates, I'd think they're truly trying to get everything set I stone before they update. I mean, theyve been hardcore secretive this year compared to what I've seen in the past. They're probably just holding out until every tiny minute detail is straight.
  17. So I've been playing a lot of Red Dead Redemption lately. How intense would an Undead Nightmare house be?!? Western zombies circa 1910.
  18. There have been several houses with "up scares", and I would have to agree that seeing past the faux ceilings can definitely take you out of the mood. Dracula's bride and wolfman both crawled over the crowd on suspension. I will say, however, that there have been moments where I have enjoyed being able to see the ways they have made a scare or set the mood for certain rooms. But as a general note, I would much rather be "backstage" seeing this than in the middle of a scare.
  19. I don't necessarily think there's anything wrong with an extreme house, but I don't think HHN will ever do it, simply because they have a lot more traffic than HoS. You think the lines for the regular houses get bad, imagine how it would be for an extreme house at HHN.
  20. The fact that they serve alcohol own the problem, it's that some people don't know their limits when it comes to being in public places, like theme parks. But I must admit, the themed drink for the year is pretty amazing. Fear in a glass was soooooo good. Another reason why I can't wait for this year's theme!
  21. I'm on vacation, no access to a computer, and the only HHN website i can see is the mobile version. If something happens while I'm here, I'll be pissed. As for scary tales, I think we're all in agreement that it would be amazing to have again, but judging by the way they've tied the Scary Tales houses in with the years themes in the past, it would make sense to have a revised ST in a literature based theme. Maybe a possible storybook scary tales. The Evil Giving Tree, Curious George who's curious about what your insides look like.
  22. I'd say that's worthy of "speculation". But if any icons were to make a return, Eddie would be the one I'd want to see.
