  1. *ahem* NO. How about just no more TWD? This is the first year I'm close to certain about TWD's demise. There's just too much evidence this year (Very low house ratings, Comcast not forcing it this year until Hollywood vouched for it, etc), plus it honestly is fading in popularity as far as HHN goes. SO many people are tired of seeing it, not just die hards. Hell, I know people who've only been 1 of the past 4 years who think it's stupid it keeps coming back. Yes, there are PLENTY who love TWD as a show, but as virtually anyone who went this year what their 3 favorite houses were, and not only will 1-2 of them not even be an IP, but there's a 90% chance none of them are TWD. Hell, the graffiti infested, last minute switched-over house was rated higher than TWD.
  2. The Sprout Network Presents: Childhood Nightmares. Follow a grisly retelling of your favorite childhood shows, such as Barney, Sesame Street and Cailou. Or, TERRORTUBBIES
  3. Y.E.S. Mythology is a wonderful concept for a house, Hades was fucking AWESOME, and I just really love the word Ragnarok and would love to see it as the name of a house. As for what I want? Nightingales: Bloodshed Warfare Catacombs 2 Scary Tales 4 ScreamHouse: Reconstructed (continuing with a word starting with "re" as the subtitle. Story is the house was burned down, but The Caretaker's followers rebuilt it in honor of The Caretaker who, along with Sindy, has returned. Very similar to the original, with some enhancements.) Alice in Wonderland: Descend Into Madness (Not necessarily this year, but I would love for them to revisit the topic of Alice in a non-3D setting. I loved Asylum this year, but I would really like to see a more serious, much scarier house, as I think the source material's perfect for it.) Ghost Town 2 Cold(er) Blind(er) Terror(er) () Terror Mines: Evil Underground (I want a return to the concept of the hard hats as a light source. They could use blacklight and other effects to make some really unique instances in this house) The Skoolhouse (Only house I remember from 05, and I really loved it. Orfanage featured some of the same concept and was also amazing.)
  4. Sounds very Marketing-like, honestly. Let's call it Jack Presents to get people to want to do it, then plaster him all over the place instead of giving everyone they're time to shine. This house is in my top 5 of all time, but if it was done the way it was originally planned, I can see it being my #1 without a shadow of doubt.
  5. ^Mike has said in the past he loves that movie and wants to do it someday, so I say Klowns is in the realm of possibility. TRT has a sequel in 2017, so that's when I'm betting we see it. Hollywood wants to do it, there's a lot of fans on both coasts asking for it, and it'll be time relevant.
  6. 1. Won't happen until A. King changes his mind (they've tried several times, he doesn't want his work featured in a haunted house for whatever reason. Disappointing, but is totally his call, as it's his properties), or B. He dies and the new rights holders allow it. I don't anticipate either scenario happening ever, honestly. 2. It's my understanding that this was thought of at one point, it's a possibility. 3. Murdy flat out hinted that they're at the very least discussing the possibility. I think it's VERY likely (and in Tent 2. Calling it.) 4. I think it's time this happens. They designed the 2011 characters to be repeatable, and it's been 5 years. Bring it on! 5. Doubtful, but a lot of us seem to want it, so maybe they'll listen? 6. They've done them enough, imo. 3 of em got their own house in 09, HoH from 2012, Die In zone, and the scenes in M&M. I say give them a rest for a few years, and then bring them all back in a house that does the UCM movies better justice than the black and white concept of HoH. 7. This is another one I speculated on happening. I feel it's possible, but only if they find a strong enough legend. Chupacabra? 8.-10.I'd love this. My guess is 5 original and 4-5 IP (depending on if we get the 10th house), so I doubt we see this many originals if 2 or more of the above sequels come to fruition.
  7. My biggest (nonrealistic) wish is for them to stop running the Superstar Parade from Sept.-Nov. in order for us to have proper scare zones again. Something we haven't seen since 2011. Yes, we still get props and sets, but when's the last time we got something like 20 Years of Fear? Or Asylum in Wonderland? Or fucking ROBOSAURUS??? The parade can't be THAT big of a thing. The only things I can see being the main purpose of the parade is the M&G they do with the floats in front of Mel's, which they can still do with proper zones, just don't put one in Mel's. And also to drive merch sales. It'd be nice to have a major set design in Hollywood and New York again. But if the choice for budget is either big, expansive zones, or 9-10 all new houses, I'm absolutely picking the houses.
  8. This is why I keep saying IF there's no conceivable way to keep it USF only, and I believe there is. Has anyone here been to Howl O Scream, where houses are LITERALLY 15-20 min walks away from each other? Does anyone know how much walking you would have to do to go from tent 2 by MiB to Jurassic Park?? NO THANKS I was apparently mistaken on MiB overflow being unusable, so let's throw that back in the mix. Assuming KidZone's untouchable, use Hollywood Blvd for Parade building, have both tents enter from MiB, and there you go. Hell, throw 2 houses in SS21 and call it a 10 house year. If they don't do 2 parks, they'll definitely have the budget for it, so why not? Cut an IP to save some budget, don't do a megahouse, and don't build an insanely expensive house like AvP or AWiL and 10 houses is easy. And about Scream...imagine this discussion: "Alright gang, what are some popular IPs we can feature at HHN26? The Purge did really well, The Conjuring has a se-" "OOH How about we try Scream again??? Sure, they royally fucked us over this year, made us waste a LOT of money, and caused way more turmoil and stress than necessary, but that's totally the past! That's not gonna happen again! What do you say? What could possibly go wrong?" There's no way in hell they try Scream again. I'm afraid that's something we're just gonna have to accept.
  9. There is no conceivable way to do a house in MiB based on just where they would put the queue for it and MiB during the day. Let's assume they start construction in July, which is later than they ever start. It's still the middle of summer, and MiB still gets up to 60 min waits on busy days due to crowds/ being right next to Diagon. Add in the fact that the park continues to grow in popularity, Twister and Disaster are lost capacity, and KONG/ nuHulk will be pulling people in, and you're gonna see a problem with not having most of the queue for MiB. Then for HHN, where could they possibly put a queue/entrance? I mean there's very limited backstage area by it for a queue, but I just don't see it happening. However, if there's no conceivable way to control 9 houses plus their queues with all the construction going on, then 2 parks is actually a necessity this time around. 4 SSs, both tents, and parade building for houses. Then 2 SSs on the IoA side, and Poseidon as a 10th house. Have ONLY Hogsmeade, LC and Seuss (for SS entrances) open. Leave the rest of the park open for daytime guests till 7. After 7, possibly open JP and Kong for HHN guests. B&T in FFL, new show in Sinbad, Horror Makeup Show open, and possibly a show in Animal Actors, if it's still there. They just won't do the entirety of both parks, as that's an absurd amount of walking/ security/ TMs/etc. etc. But having mostly USF plus half of IoA with Hogwarts Express open could work. There's gonna be a LOT of logistics to work out this year. And very possibly a lot of walking for us. Very exciting to be going into a speculation year when there's legitimate reasoning to believe there's gonna be a major change to the event layout for the first time in 10 years!
  10. Oooor the house wasn't finished when the Scream rights fell through and they cut the house short and used the budget for the remaining few scenes to go turn Scream into Purge That's what I was told at least. A Nevermore (Tell Tale Heart specifically) and Catacombs scene were apparently both planned.
  11. The one thing about this house that should've been fixed from 2013 was the bar and graveyard/moors scenes. I understand why there were no actors, but a complete minute passes in this house before you see an actor, and for most people, that's a buzzkill. Makes the house start off weak. And there were plenty of spots for great scares.
  12. 1. Only 10 more than me but JEALOUS 2. LOL My final house counts for HHN 25: Nights: 16 Jack Presents: 25 Years of Monsters and Mayhem: 32 Body Collectors: Recollections: 26 Freddy vs Jason: 23 Asylum in Wonderland 3D: 23 RUN: Blood, Sweat and Fears: 20 Insidious: 19 The Purge: 16 An American Werewolf in London: 13 The Walking Dead: 10 Bill and Ted: 10 (Including the PERFECT final show) The Carnage Returns: 4.5 182 house runs. My most ever by over 50. Absolutely top notch year with great content, great people, and just an overall great atmosphere. Cannot wait for next year!
  13. It might've been a cast change. Out of the 32 times I did the house, the only times Meatz was missing was during a cast change. They threw Eddie in Icons for the last weekend or two, so if you didn't see him then, that's why.
  14. That ended up being the only night I saw them utilized. I was pretty bummed, as it was good placement.
  15. My super early predictions for HHN26: 1 park, 9 houses, 2 shows, 6 zones. 4 IP, 5 original houses, 1-2 IP zones. NO Walking Dead. There is too much evidence pointing towards it NOT coming back for me to believe this is finally happening. Possible IPs: Purge (90% sold on a house in Parade building and a zone in NY), Conjuring (very likely, especially after Insidious' immense success), something Evil Dead related, Ghostbusters, Underworld, Resident Evil (Mike said he wanted to tackle it again), etc. For originals, I say 2 sequels, 3 new. Nightingales, Urban Legends, LT, and Catacombs all have the potential to return. My money's on the first 3. Only reason I say no to 10 houses for next year is this year one house was a complete repeat, save new wolves and transitions, and a LOT of content this year, from props to costumes and more, were reused. Yes, they reuse stuff every year, but with the amount of sequels and callbacks this year, I've a feeling it was more than normal. So next year's budget will have to cover 9 regular sized new houses, and having 1-2 sequels will help lessen the blow. IF (and it's a big if imo) we see a 10th house, then it would have to be a 2 park event . My first prediction on a house lineup: Purge (parade building) The Conjuring (tent 1/2) Army of Darkness (SS) Current IP (SS) Nightingales 2 (SS) Urban Legends (Tent 1/2) original (SS) original (Shrek, technically a 5th SS) original (NEW location. My guess is the new parade building being built) *Legendary Truth (possibly an up charge interactive experience) that's more wishful thinking than anything Twister's closing doesn't affect queues for SS's enough to cancel the 4th SS. There is SO much room around the SSs to make up for the thin strip of real estate behind Twister used for a queue. Have an entrance next to DM, Rockit Plaza and NY facade like normal. Then, have the 4th SS enter next to the Twister restrooms. Use the M&M/AWiL exit for Rockit Plaza express queue, have all 4 exit by NY facade like 2013, and you're set.
  16. This is always my favorite review to read. The titles you gave the houses in your rankings are hysterical xD I do disagree on Asylum (I personally love it) and RUN (I like it, and the interactivity with actors is great, but I can't justify putting it higher than anything other than TWD and Purge), and every now and then I'll get a great run of Purge, but I've had more duds than good ones.
  17. ^I'll follow and rank the past 2 years combined: 1. Jack Presents 2. Freddy vs Jason 3. Insidious 4. Body Collectors 5. Dollhouse of the Damned 6. Halloween 7. Asylum in Wonderland 8. TWD: End of the Line 9. American Werewolf (Would be #1 if this was a 2013/14 comparison) 10. Giggles and Gore 11. From Dusk Till Dawn 12. AvP 13. Roanoke 14. RUN 15. Dracula Untold 16. The Purge 17. TWD: The Living and the Dead 1. PsychoScareapy 2. The Purge 3. Evil's Roots 4. Icons 5.MASKerade 6. All Nite Die In (Hindered by location) 7. Scary Tales 8. Bayou of Blood 9. Face/Off B&T 2014>>B&T 2015
  18. Combination of Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday: M&M: 10 FvJ: 6 Asylum: 6 Body Collectors: 5 Insidious: 4 RUN: 3 Purge: 3 American Werewolf: 3 The Walking Dead: 2 B&T: 3 Carnage Returns: .5 Total so far: Nights: 15 M&M: 30 Body Collectors: 25 Asylum in Wonderland: 22 Freddy vs Jason: 21 RUN: 20 Insidious: 19 Purge: 16 American Werewolf: 11 The Walking Dead: 10 B&T: 9 Carnage Returns: 3.5
  19. This seems to be the general consensus outside of the die hard fans who will place RUN a bit higher. I've no info on this, but based on what I've seen/been told, guests are ranking the houses something like this: Top Rated: Jack Presents, Insidious, Freddy vs Jason, Body Collectors Mid-Range but still good: AWiL, Asylum, Purge (this house is being insanely well received, but there's plenty who think it's bad to drag it down from the top rated) Bottom Level: TWD, RUN I'm fairly confident this is the last we see of TWD, if not at the very least for a year or two. It's my understanding that we weren't even going to be forced to have it; rumor is that Hollywood wanted to do it again, so they had us share it. Couple that with low satisfaction this year, I think it's safe to say we won't be seeing this one next year. Purge will be the big current IP imo, with maybe another recent one and 2 classic IPs.
  20. Some of these instances are, like Legacy said, out of fear. If it's an accident like that, and you can see the person didn't mean to harm the actor and was acting out of reflex, then it's understandable. But to SPIT into someone's face, yell sexual comments at the female actors, and overall just be a dick, is completely inexcusable, no matter the job description. And there's nothing anyone can do to stop that from happening, because these people, even sober, are just assholes, and you can't fix that problem by stripping zones or making the event dry. As an actor, it's definitely something you'd have to expect and accept would happen, but I can't justify some of the actions towards actors by saying that.
  21. Add in a Catacombs room and I 100% agree. Also, turn the finale into a room with ALL icons, not just Jack. Take out HAVOC, Forsaken, and Castle Vampyr rooms to make all this happen. I was hoping for a wider variety, but I LOVE what we have sans those 2 rooms so I can't really complain.
  22. The chainsaw in the Canadian room IS A GAT. There's a small red button on the handle. When pressed, the chainsaw vibrates and produces a practically inaudible saw noise. It's nothing major, but it's there. I've pressed it several times, so it's definitely true. If any tour guides are saying it's not there, then they're wrong.
  23. Honestly, even if the movie was successful, I never expected it to come next year. Why would they do it the year AFTER it came out, unless it was a well known movie/character, like FvJ, Halloween, etc. The closest comparison is doing Cabin in the Woods 2 years after it came out, which I thought was odd, but A&D really wanted to do it and it was VERY successful. I just couldn't see a movie like this (which is great, I saw it last week) being a giant hit. However, with a probably unrealistic budget, this could've been the greatest ghost house of all time, with some incredibly impressive effects/setsand intense scares.
  24. I definitely thought the event was better than it was while it was still going on last year, but yes, I've come to think it wasn't as good as I originally thought. I don't think it was weak, as I enjoyed all the houses and loved The Purge and MASKerade, but my biggest issue was that outside of Halloween, the event was aggressively NOT scary. I mean, the event's never been terrifying; but I only legit jumped in ONE house. FDTD was a lot of fun, TWD was great but bored me out really quickly due to the excessive use of zombies, AvP is the biggest disappointment in HHN history imo, Drac had nice sets but not much merit, Giggles was a lot of fun, Dollhouse was my favorite as it was incredibly creepy and decent on scares, and Roanoke was a great campy house-but that's not what it was meant to be. Halloween was SCARY. It was a phenomenal house. B&T last year is one of my favorites ever, alongside Hollywood's impeccable 2012 show. The final B&T last year had me literally tearing up from laughter. So I'll agree scarewise, it was probably the weakest year I've seen in the past 11 years. But overall, I still really enjoyed the event. It does seem like they listened and upped the ante scare wise this year, which is great.
  25. Wednesday, October 21st: BC:2 RUN:2 Purge:2 M&M:1 AWiL:1 FvJ:1 Asylum:1 TWD:1 Insidious:1 B&T:1 Carnage Returns:1 Plus a spin on the Mummy and walking around Diagon Total: Nights: 12 M&M:20 BC:20 RUN:17 Asylum:16 Insidious:15 FvJ:15 Purge:13 AWiL:8 TWD:8 B&T:6 Carnage:3
