I thought it was okay. Her minions were the scariest part, but one of the scary Lady Lucks did get me REALLY good.

And the Prisoners were my favorite, too. I just didn't want to hang around them too much at the event because I'm in their Horror Unearthed "bloodline" and didn't want to come across as creepy or stalkerish. ._.

I didn't want to hang around them too much either, but that was because they scared the hell outta me.

  8. It really annoys me that people cant be bothered enough to put out tombstones or at least pumpkins for Halloween but they have no problem putting an inflatable Santa riding a tractor on their lawn.

  9. Six months? That's nothing! One time I waited a whole year for September!

  10. The Christmas music has started on the radio here in New York. I just put the rest of my Halloween stuff away yesterday. LET ME MOURN, DAMMIT!

  11. To start: "Its one of the ONLY things bringing people to the park right now". Really? I don't think there is anyone that looks at Universal as a vacation destination just because of the four float parade. "Hey, honey, let's take the kids to Universal Studios, they have this NEW PARADE!"... said no one ever. Potter, Rockit, Hulk, Spidey, Men in Black might be bigger draws. Sure, it's a great thing for families to enjoy during the day, but it alone is not bringing people in the gates. I do agree that putting the parade on hiatus to allow for a few set pieces for a weekend seasonal event is unecessary. I think they were being a little lazy this year, opted for roaming vs set scarezones, and sat back and watched how it went. They tried it, and it was mixed reviews. They have the ability to roll sets out, and I hope to see the return of the scarezones next year. 4 new IP houses. Yeah, they totally recycled the design for The Walking Dead back when they had the idea in 1998. What about the event, other than the obvious legions was recycled? I'll give you the legions and maybe Cooper.. but that's all that I can think of. As for flying actors, they are insanely impressive. Not only does Universal blow every other haunt event out of the water with their insane set design, but when you add in FLYING actors.. it doesn't get much better than that.
  12. Hi, I'm Snow White from the movie.. not Mirror, Mirror.. the good one.

  13. It's the theme park offseason here in the northeast, which means you can find me curled up in a ball in the corner of my room, watching POVs on YouTube and eating Wheat Thins.

  14. I'm still calling shenanigans on the parade excuse. I still refuse to believe that the parade was the reason for no sets, and that they were in fact just trying something new. Now they hopefully know what worked and what didn't work. There's a few videos on Youtube that show the Singapore crew rolling out some pretty large set pieces in the NY area of the park. Sure, fog and lighting would be just fine for Hollywood and New York, but we're talking about a creative team that came up with ways to implement flying scareactors into houses.. I think they can figure out how to design sets that can be rolled out before the gates open. Edit: Found a video of Singapore setting up scarezones. You can see it at about :30.
  15. It's Barack "Insane in the Hussein" Obama v.s. Mitt "The Stormin' Mormon" Romney!

  16. Waiting in gas lines here in NY is like waiting in line at a theme park on a Saturday in July.. except they don't smell as bad. Looking at you, Six Flags. Looking at you.

      Dr. Jimmy

it's not the theme park that smells on a hot summer day... it's the sweating guests.

  17. 19. Soft opening the home haunt tonight. Sandy better stay far away!

  20. I don't get it Mr. President.. if Chuck Norris and Clint Eastwood are afraid of you, why weren't you in the Expendables?

  21. I'm a really big fan of Bill & Ted's Excellent Halloween Adventure. I won't lie when I said I was very nervous walking into it after hearing about how "different" the show was this year. Coming out of it, this was EASILY the best one I have seen in my three years of attending HHN. The new storyline approach worked really well, it felt like the show flowed alot better rather than trying to squeeze characters into the old storyline. In the past I have chuckled at the jokes, some get a good laugh, but this year I found myself laughing out loud way more than I had previously. The cast was excellent as always, and I was very glad to see Bill and Ted return. The guy playing MIB Agent/Romney/Lincoln/Dick Clark and the guy playing Magic Mike both need to win Oscars, or Emmys, or the Heisman.. or something! They were outstanding! Overall I'd give the show an "A-".. they would get an "A", but they lose that half a letter because of ALMOST not using the phone booth. As for one of the best parts of the shows getting scrapped.. "If you're easily offended, you should probably move along" This means that if you are so easily offended as to write a massive blog post about and submit it to Fox News, you should have left when you were warned. Bottom line, period.
  22. If you ever need a good laugh, read the HHN Facebook page. "I GOT THERE AT 10 AND ONLY GOT TO DO ONE HOUSE BCUZ THE LINE WAS TWO HOURZ! WORST HHN EVER! RIPOFF!!!!$!!1"

I get a chuckle out of those posts too. Yes, it's totally Universal's fault that they were too dumb to plan ahead.

They don't care after two sold out nights. They have made more money from HHN this year than they have since 2005 or so...

Me too, Stumpy. You have no room at all to complain or blame Universal when you show up at 9 oclock for an event that starts at 6:30, but there are alot of posts saying exactly that.

  24. Yes, a 2-park event would go over beautifully because nobody complained about there being too much walking this year or anything!

    Dead End

This house was phenomenal. Start to finish, incredible. Easily the most intense house of the event, and the most intense I've been in for sure. Not only are the actors hidden really well, but the scares are setup perfectly with distractions from either a gag or the detail in the set design itself. Shoutout to "Broken neck" ghost for the scare of my life.. my heart was in my throat and I felt like I couldn't breathe for a few seconds. The bathroom scene was anther intense one as well, as I got both scares in this room and soiled myself a little.. which was ok, because it WAS the bathroom. The use of classic haunted house gags done in this house were brilliant, and the Pepper's Ghost was my favorite. This is a scare you may or may not want to time right, because it has one of the largest speakers Universal has available mounted right above you and it will make your ears ring. Don't stare at the ghost too long, she'll catch you like she caught me, and it won't be pretty! By the time I got out of this house, I needed to sit down and take a breather. I like to think I'm very difficult to scare, but this house had me jumping all over the place. Serious props to the cast in this house. If you still have the chance to take the UTH tour, DO IT! To be able to see all of the details put into this house (and there is ALOT of detail) and to get to hear the full backstory, it was worth it for this house alone. One hidden easter egg I haven't seen mentioned too much is the picture of the Storyteller in the opening scene. It is impossible to see during the event, and still difficult to see until it's pointed out in the UTH tour, but it's there for us fans! The queue is absolutely miserable, the worst one of the event for sure. We waited 60 for this house and it felt like 3 days (it was still worth it for this house, though!). I couldn't even imagine waiting 90+ like it has been the past few days. I don't think anything is worth the wait in that line for that long.
