  1. Still hilarious how the article wanted fair representation of the two candidates, but ignored the Obamacare joke Obama himself makes. Never once mentioned it. I am voting for Obama STRICTLY because he was portrayed as a better candidate at Bill an Ted's Excellent Halloween Adventure show at Universal Orlando! Suck it, Fox News! Seriously, if they think anyone comes out of the show with this idea, it's a good week to quit sniffing glue.
  2. According to Inside the Magic, they took out a huge "chunk" of the rap scene. Ridiculous.

    Gothic

HOTY for me easy, no doubt about it! Seriously a flawless house. Right from the start the facade is incredible, and the sets throughout are gorgeous. Immersion and detail is the name of the game for HHN as a whole, but Gothic took it to another level (the Candle room for example: no two candles look or flicker the same). This house is unfortuantely all about timing, though. I, however, was lucky enough to see every major scare my first time through. The flying actors are what separate this house from Dead End, it really doesn't get much cooler than seeing these guys in the air. Those that have seen it will agree that the bungee scare is the highlight of the house. Overall, A++.
  4. Was able to go two nights this past weekend, and I think this year was once again a really good event! Gothic and Dead End were easily the stars of the show, and the rest were solid in their supporting roles. Not one "bad" house among them. The new street experience was interesting, and I liked the added freedom given to the scareactors (who were very agressive all night in every Legion, great job by street actors this year), but I would like to see the set pieces return. The streets felt way too bare. I really enjoyed Bill and Ted as well, easily the funniest one I have seen in my three years of attending. I'll have a more detailed review up soon. Also, HOLY CROWDS!
  5. Had an absolute blast this past weekend at Universal! HHN 22 was a great event, was able to hit all the houses, some as many as 3 times. It was awesome getting to meetup with some members here, definitely makes it a better experience. I'm already counting down the days until back for HHN 23!

I TOLD YOU NOT TO TELL ANYONE MY INSIDE INFO ON NEXT YEAR'S ICON!

  6. Just bought my tickets, I'll be there October 13th and 14th!
  7. I'm still debating Express or not to Express myself. I'll be there on a Saturday night, so if this is true a 25 minute wait is a hell of a lot better than a 60+ minute wait! I'm still fighting myself on wether or not that 25 minute wait is worth $90.
  8. Halloween Havoc will be at Horror Nights the same weekend I will be there. I will be crying on more than one occasion.

  9. Who killed chat?

  10. That's not my video. I didn't watch it either because I don't want things to be spoiled, but the person that sent it to me said it was just a slideshow of pictures he took. The UTH houses are Gothic, Dead End, and Penn and Teller, by the way.
  11. I'll be there the 13th and 14th as well! Last year, I was there the same weekend (15th and 16th) and Sunday was much, much, worse in terms of crowds. It's unpredictable from what I've seen across the forums. I'm actually more concerned about how Friday nights are, because I may try and get in that night as well. Is it worth paying full admission (won't have a park ticket that day, so Stay and Scream isn't an option) or will crowds make it unbearable? Edit: Obviously I think HHN is well worth the price of admission, by "worth it" I meant is it worth the $90 for the extra 6 or so hours? Can I get stuff done? It'll be about $90 for my Stay and Scream for two nights, so I'm a little hesitant on dropping that same amount on just one night..
  12. Someone sent me this awesome video of the hordes in the Men In Black Store. Starts at 24:15! There is no escape! Here's your spoiler warning! The video is full of them! There is also a slideshow of some pictures the guy took in the Unmasking Tour as well.
  13. I will be taking a leave of absence from the HHN section of the forums starting tomorrow. Let's see how long I'm actually able to keep myself away from spoilers..

  14. Agree but disagree. Originally, yes, they were heavily advertising TWD the first few weeks before and after the reveal, but it seems to have started leveling out to the other IPs and the rest of the houses now. It's kinda like they cast the line, waited for the big audience bite, and are now reeling them in with teasers from Gothic, Silent Hill, and Penn and Teller this week. If I'm Alice Cooper, I'm actually probably a little pissed that you haven't heard "boo" from Orlando about your house.
  15. Well I remember the sparks that flew in the summer of seeevventyy niiiine!

  16. Spoiler alert! Penn & Teller give a sneak peek at New(kd) Las Vegas! The last room looks like it will be a good one!
  17. This was me last night: *HNN posts Silent Hill walkthrough, Inside the Magic puts up Dead End video* "MUST RESIST... WATCHING.. WON'T SPOIL IT.. WANT TO BE SURPR-" *presses play, drools* I have been flip flopping between Walking Dead and Gothic being my most anticipated, but Dead End just shot up right alongside them. I love the "traditional" ghost stories/haunted mansions so I have a feeling this might very well end up being my favorite because of that bias. As insane as Silent Hill looks, that's still my least anticipated. I'm just not into that whole franchise at all. Yeah, about those... did they go to Party City and buy the masks?
  18. Hate to be THAT guy.. but the whole crawling thing in House of Horrors might not be the best idea.

In the comment section of the FaceBook post, HHN said that there is an alternative path to those with disabilities or to those too scared. So, with that, this "crouching" could be pretty intense if they offer a way out for the too scared.

I am VERY excited for this house. :))

  19. It's not that sliders tear up the streets, it's that the streets are so packed that they can't be effective. You need room not only to slide, but room to gain speed for the slide, room to popup, and room in case something goes wrong. Universal doesn't exactly have the widest of midways like Knott's or Six Flags parks. It wouldn't work. I've done sliding before. It is something that you can't just pickup and do, it takes alot of time to practice. It also leaves you beyond the point of sore the next day.
  20. I was thinking of an RIP too. When considering that the Stay and Scream plus Express option versus the tour, the tour is only about $40 more. I'm still very on the fence, though. I do go alone and would like to be in a group, but I would prefer to see it all my own way instead of a basically structured night. Decisions, decisions..
  21. Will be probably getting an Express pass for both my nights. I will be returning home bankrupt.

  22. To advertise. They're going to play up the "no safe zones" as much as possible, with it being the tagline for the event.
  23. I opened the construction pictures thread and had to change my pants immediately after. Winter's Night is basically a large part of the backdrop for the entire park and I am having all kinds of geek-gasms over it. I guess this does confirm that the roaming hordes will rotate zones if the park has a central cemetery theme. I'd like to see the flags of each legion rotate with them throughout the night.

  25. Can I ask what the big deal is if there are IP houses? Is the only reason people dislike them because they aren't "original"? Sure, I love the original ideas too but this is UNIVERSAL STUDIOS. IPs put you inside the movies, or in this year's case the TV show, music, and magic act. That's what the Studios is all about! If this was another park like the Six Flags chain or even HOS, then I can say that you have the right to complain about IPs over original creations... but this is Universal Studios, where you are supposed to "ride the movies"! I'm not looking to get into any arguments, I just really want to know why there is such hatred for IP content...
