I want to thank everyone who enjoyed Saws & Steam this year. I was happy to give shout-outs to those that came through. Thanks to Big Chippah and everyone who took photos of myself and my friends through the run. Your love for the event drives us! Thanks to whoever let me comb their cats the last week. I finally picked up on that trend very late in the game and had fun with it. A big shout-out to Hallow'd Past, Orfanage, Fear Revealed, Hollywood and Muerte opening casts who got to see me first set every night. Thanks for all the scares, photos and memories I will hold dear. You guys all got me "in the groove" before set time. Congrats to HAVOC: Dogs of War for House of the Year, which was my favorite scary maze this run! The Usher in Cast A of Hallow'd Past- You got me pretty much every time I went through! A big hug to all my Cindys through the event. I love that character so much, and it was great to finally see her come to life every night thanks to your efforts. Thanks to everyone who made this event, supported it, and came through each night they could.

I've been through the house numerous times at first set, and I have to say my last trip through was the scariest of the them all. The Marvel Chainsaw, the Frankenstein, the Dead Exposure room, the Frightanic room,.even my personal bias favorite the Alice in Wonderland room really got me good (Thanks Valdez). No Treak that time though Props to the Usher on the first cast. He got me twice, and was trying to say something to me but I couldn't hear because it was so loud.

I noticed that they have a Ghostbusters ghost trap on one of the shelves in the Hollywood area. Just FYI.

I highly doubt Orfanage would have open flames, considering its inside a very small, very enclosed wood building. I could see it in a soundstage, where fire could be within safety codes. Am I the only one hoping fire returns to the New York area? Steam, fire, steampunk..ya know?

I'm glad that New York has moved down the street and it's not on that random corner near the house entrances. Seems like a much better fit there.

To my knowledge, the only houses to ever get queue videos have been in the soundstages or Earthquake/Disaster, where there is sufficient space to do so or they was room to erect a large screen, like Pyschopath in 2006.

The past few years, the JAWS queue has been home to the "icon" house- SAW (09), Bloody Mary (08) Friday the 13th (07), which usually made the queue so crowded. This year, with Cindy being less known by the public and "FEAR" being the icon, I don't think the Jaws queue will be as packed.

Maybe he's related to the Terra Queen? Hahaha. I kid, but that's what I thought when I saw glimpses of the top of his head in the video. This year is interesting because every year, we've had well known characters from either movies or popular culture to sort of guide us. This is a "back-to-basics" feel this year, more on ideas and stories than just characters we've known and loved before. Yes, we have a few returning ideas from past HHN, but everything else is very based on myths, paranormal activity and horror favorites like zombies and ghosts. Most excited: Hades, Psycho-Scareapy, Orfanage and HHN Hallow'd Past.

They did that in RUN: Hostile Territory a few years ago, where "guests" were pulled into scenes to get gutted.

Who says the exit will be in front of Disaster? You could leave the house by there, but be directed back to the front just like Doomsday in 2008. Plus, it's not in the middle of the road. The Disaster entrance is pretty off to the side, leaving enough leeway for crowd movement.

Doubt it will happen though. It feels like they are simply parking the Mardi Gras floats and using them for scenery, much like in 2006's boneyard setup. I never got to see the parade myself but I, too, would love to see it return since it garners so many great reviews. I think we got a good trade off in getting another house though, rather than packing the already crowded streets.

Not to be too picky, but that's not the same carriage from Van Helsing. The carriage in Van Helsing was more like this

Thanks Jimmy..People also forget that steampunk style was around in 2008, with Path of the Wicked's Flying Monkeys and the Tin Man (who was also in the Parade Bldg). Steampunk is just that- a style.

Just judging by the architecture alone, I think this costume has something to do with the above facade..just an thought...

Run was a house in 2001 and 2006. The idea was a gameshow where every guest was a "contestant" to survive the maze. The sequel was more based off Hostel, where "guests" were visiting a facility where they were "volunteered" to be tortured.
