  1. Nearly every house has a hidden door, accessible from backstage, just inside the exit that is used by VIPs, technicians and managers so they don't have to wait in line or draw attention to the fact they are "cutting." It's also a lot bigger than your normal boo-door, but a lot similar in estimated size to the "Access" doors.

Yep, that's what I have been thinking as well.

  2. In Legacy's latest version, the queue for Sprung 1 looks like it would actually be a shorter walk than what we have experienced for the past couple of years. This version also avoids having upwards of four houses exiting into KidZone. Combining Jeramy and Legacy's last two ideas, I see a very functional queue scenario for the Parade maze(s) and the Sprung tents.

  3. I could see this working for the most part, but man that is quite a walk to enter Sprung 1 or 2 and then go back to do the other Sprung.

Oddly the Out for the sprung tents becomes the longest walk and the back of the parade really isn't that bad if you go through Curious george. Of course it COULD loop through Hard rock but that is just more line or overflow.

I would assume that the entrance to the Parade #2 maze would start back near E.T. - so that walk is actually quite long.

  4. Two houses build in a "narrow" form really constricts the layout and could cause problems for cast changes.

Since we already have three facades being built, someone needs to just to the backside of the parade building and see if anything is going up there.

Good point, and getting to the backside of the Parade building is easier said than done. :)

  5. I believe that the latest call-time for actors is usually 7:00 or 7:15pm. The earliest call-time is usually 4:45pm. As with having a more open availability, the earlier you can start each night will allow for a better chance at being hired (more available roles to get cast in). Just make sure you plan time for your commute as well as time to find a parking spot and walk to your sign-in location which could be quite a hike from where you park, when you fill out your earliest availability.

  6. I don't doubt Universal's ability to make a good facade. Not every house needs a Legendary Truth-style bed & breakfast. They could easily add much more on to it; remember that we're only looking at the absolute minimum of construction here.

Calm down there buddy. I was just making an observation. I don't doubt their "abilities".

  7. I'm leaning more toward the thought that they are NOT changing the entrance/exits to the tents, and instead this facade is actually pointing toward the normal queue, with the potential for a hidden final scare at the exit. Just seems unnecessary to change the queue directions for the tents.

If the "facade" we are looking at is actually the exit (using the same exit door as in year's past) and the queue lines stay the same, guests will have to make a 180 degree rotation to their left in order to exit the "normal" way.

  8. Firecrew is someone who is cast and will be guaranteed a role every night of the run. They generally do a different role each night and are someone who they feel is able to easily adapt to new roles.

ABU is someone who is cast and then is type-cast every night to see if they will fit a role that there is a vacancy in. You may show up every night as ABU and never get cast because you don't fit what they need in an empty spot.

If you aren't able to work every night of the run, then you will be Active Back-up (ABU).

What I am trying to say is, be honest with your availability.

In general, the more open your availability is (combined with auditioning early and often if needed) the better your chances of getting hired are. Like Tman said, make sure you are honest. Also, if you know any dates that you will need off, mark those down at the auditions. If you are looking for full-time, I would not suggest requesting more than 2 nights off.

Active Back-up roles are handed out once all of the Firecrew employees are placed in their roles. Firecrew employees have been known to have been asked to fill in full-time for someone who has either quit/been injured/been fired. Lastly, for the past few years, as an ABU employee you are REQUIRED to show up for work (whether you get placed in a role or not) for at least 5 nights. This number is subject to change.

  9. I wasn't 100% on the cut-backs for Sprung 2, and they're all an approximation anyway.

    Parade queues idea.

I don't see the reason to change anything with the normal Parade maze (#1) queue in your scenario. They could just keep it the same as in year's past with the same result, could they not?

don't forget, they can't block off the road 100% because it's a fire route and for traffic.

I don't foresee them making a bunch of doublebacks in the road.

They've used doublebacks for Sprung 1 on the road before and have also done so back by the Hard Rock Hotel as well. I do understand what you're saying though.

  10. That makes sense but, the line for Sprung two cut back on the walkway behind the bathrooms to rows of lines behind MIB and came straight in the front of the tent for the last 3 years. But it wouldn't change the basic flow you've come up with. that definitely works. How would this queue change alter the Parade building queue in anyway?

Yeah, what Legacy shows for Sprung Tent 2 looks to be what they usually use for the Express entrance. Also, I don't know if the queues for the Sprungs that Legacy mapped out would allow for the amount of people that will be standing in line when the wait reaches 60mins+.

  11. The changes to who how Sprung 2 is developing (with a possible entrance at the exit) could be a clue as well. It could allow the queue entrance to Sprunge 1 to move where both Sprungs exited in the past, and still allow for only two queue lines to start in the ET/Kidzone/Curious George area. One queue would go to the "front" of the Parade building (like normal) and one goes to the "back."

I agree, but I also think that they could have 2 maze entrances at the front of the Parade building. They could use the normal Parade maze queue and have that maze enter through where Hallow'd Past/Silver Screams did. Then, they could either use a Curious George queue leading around to the back of the Parade building and then along the side of it (where the Sprung 1 queues usually extend) or they could use the normal Sprung 1 queue and just have the guests make a right down towards the Hard Rock. In either case, they "could" use the Hallow'd Past/Silver Screams exit door as the entrance to the "new" maze and then have both of the Parade mazes exit through the door that was used as the entrance to Scary Tales in '08.

    Many, many options here.

  12. Heh... and I'm working on a crowd flow chart (because, of course, the logistics are what I'm concerned most about...)

Mystique, awesome. Your speculation makes a lot of sense, and there is a path to the "back" of the Parade building that could put a queue entrance in Hollywood, which would fill one of the "Entrance Gaps" in where you enter houses. It's perfectly logical.

The Parade building has 6 "doors" that can be used for entrances/exits. 3 in the front (where we normally enter/exit), 2 in the rear and 1 on the side. I don't see them using the side door, but you never know.

As far as entering/exiting in the rear, it seems that having the queue wind through the Curious George area could work rather than starting all the way back in Hollywood. The queue could also extend all the way down in the direction of the Hard Rock hotel.

There are many options here, but they all involve a LOT of walking. :)

  13. Wait you have me confused. The construction is on the normal out door of the tent closet to MIB. Which tent was the spawning? That is the one I have labeled as sprung 1.

Oh, is it? Aren't the normal "out doors" for both tents in relatively the same position? In either case, the placement is odd.

    FYI:

Sprung 1 = Catacombs, Chucky, Hallow, etc.

Sprung 2 = Havoc, Spawning, Dead Exposure, etc.
