Has anyone been able to actually confirm that this is the spinning vortex prop and not something else entirely?
-
From what I am reading they are either:
A. Loaded from reunion auditions.
B. Being very selective.
©. going to be a year with lighter than normal cast.
I have a (bad) feeling that you may be correct.
-
Something doesn't feel right about the "Blackjack Dealer" role, because it's so oddly specific in comparison to every other role we are getting this year or got last year.
I have felt this way as well. It seems too obvious. Who knows?
-
The new Thing movie has a female lead.
FYI, the female lead in the upcoming prequel plays a Paleontologist. Just some food for thought.
-
Also, "full availability" would include those asking for 1 (maybe 2) nights off when auditioning.
-
2 years ago, I was denied a role for ABU at my first audition, I went back the next week and was hired with no changes to my availabilty. It is true that they aren't necessarily "looking" for ABU right off the bat.

I would assume the Sound Stages, Tents and Parade building are the the furthest along in terms of construction.
-
Sprung Tent 1
Could be a paranormal driven house. Tarot cards, ghosts, runes, voodoo etc. I forget which house had the room named "Rune room"
The Rune room will be in Sprung Tent 1.

^ - Thanks for clearing that up.
CP = Central Park? If so, then I am intrigued.
-
If Lucy does = Plaza of the Stars, I don't understand why they would change the area name after using PotS for the past couple of years' auditions. It just seems a bit odd to me.
-
I won't rule out a show across from Mel's, but that area becomes a giant cluster**** whenever a show is placed there. The spot was last used at HHN for a show during '07 and the crowds were a huge logistical problem around the stage. But in any event, I'm sure that we will know what they have in store soon enough.
-
I don't think a show is out of the question, but nothing specifically points to one as of yet. With one zone apparently missing from the audition list, Mel's quite possibly could still be a scarezone location, right?
-
First of all, an "Arrival"-type show has not been confirmed, nor has any type of stage show across from Mel's. Let's not get ahead of ourselves.
Secondly, the "Lucy" location is less interesting to me when compared to "IFB" and the fact that only 5 locations were listed.

If they fill all of their actor positions, they will cancel any future-scheduled audition dates.
-
I'm surprised so many of you are mentioning houses from two or three years ago!
I think that a lot of the members here did not attend HHN going back more than two or three years and that's why you'll see a majority of members requesting more recent houses to be brought back.
-
I really enjoy seeing the creative team's new ideas every year, but I am not totally against seeing previously used themes being brought back as long as there is a "new spin" placed on the original story. Whether or not any of these return this year or in the coming years, sooner or later I would really enjoy seeing new versions of:
SOONER
Midway of the Bizarre/Fearhouse - if Amity has been deemed to be too much of a cluster to use for a scarezone ever again, maybe they could re-create this atmosphere in one of the Soundstages.
Hellgate Prison - A realistic prison without any "ghosts" is truly scary. Warden Strickland MUST come back for the sequel.
S.S. Frightanic - Cruise Ship extravagance and also claustrophobic hallways well below the "sun deck".
The Thing - Such a great concept house back in '07. I'd love to see a re-imagining get the proper Soundstage treatment.
Ghost Town - So much potential for expanding on this theme....
Dead Exposure - Continue with the zombie theme and keep the ultra-high anxiety feel of the house.
Field of Screams/Harvest of the Souls/The Hallow/Skool - A mixture of these Halloween themes would be perfect. Also, bring back the corn from FoS and pray for good weather.
Hades/mythology - Many ways they could go with other variations based on mythology.
Saws 'N Steam/steampunk city - Lots of opportunity to expand here.
LATER
Hell's High/Lights, Camera, Hacktion - A Film Production gone wrong theme. Also could be combined with....
More from The Director - He never had a house that focused on the films that he actually directed. Keep the real-life movie references out and design a house based solely on his own snuff film-making.
Movie Icons - Jason, Freddy, Leatherface, Hannibal Lecter, Michael Myers, Wolfman, Frankenstein etc. all have their place at haunted events. Just use them sparingly....
Castle Vampyr/Dracula - Keep with the medieval theme, stick with a castle and build the story from there, no raving vampires with glow sticks please. Do not stray very far from the original Vampyr castle vibe.
Toy Hell/Chucky/Dead Silence - A new house using the evil toy/puppets theme would be ok in my book.
Screamhouse - A new Victorian style house featuring the Caretaker/Cindy. This one is more of a personal wish as I never got to experience the original Screamhouse.
Scary Tales IV - Yes, I hope sometime in the future we will see a return of the Evil Fairy Tales.
-
Its official the icon this year is HOUSE M.D.
and don't forget his Vicodin DEALER
-
I would wager that the "under-the-floor" scare directly led to the "sloping-hallway" scare when they were designing the layout of the house. So, I think both theories are correct.

Love that idea.

You sure you weren't drunk when typing that?
That was my first impression of that post as well.

I know most of you don't follow hockey but, I attended the Boston Bruins Stanley Cup Championship "Rolling Rally" with approximately 2 million (!!!) of my closest friends yesterday and thought I'd share a few photos. I arrived about 3 hours early and was able to find a spot up front along Tremont St. As has become tradition in Boston, the players and staff along with their families board Duck Boats and then ride along the parade route.
First of all, here are a couple of pictures that should give you an idea of the massive crowd. Each of these pictures show only about 1 city block and the parade route was 2 miles long in total.
Now, here are my pictures from the street:
My first (up-close) view of the Stanley Cup. Chris Kelly handing the Cup to Jordan Caron as rookie Tyler Seguin (holding up one finger) looks on:
Here is future All-Star Tyler Seguin (remember that name ) hoisting the Cup:
Former Florida Panther, Gregory Campbell:
Playoff Hero and also former Florida Panther, Nathan Horton (on right) who scored 2 Playoff Game 7 Game-Winning Goals:
Horton's linemate Milan Lucic
Bruins' Assistant Captain Patrice Bergeron who scored 2 Goals during Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Vancouver Canucks:
The Duck Boats rolling by with Black and Gold confetti littering the street:
The State Capitol Building:
In the highly-unlikely event that any of you would like higher resolution verions of any of these pictures, just give me a shout.

I just need to get something off of my chest...
YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is all. Thank you.

in which he writes his stories and ideas in which immediately come forth into existence.
Sounds a lot like what I did back in '08.

Smaller cast(s), less wages/actor (I guess this is debatable with the increased wage for Performer C), less money spent on gasoline, hmmmmm....
