Idk. Out of 477 the first day. I'm sure at least 400 were cast. If not
More. So we are looking at about 800 which I believe is pretty normal.
60% of 670 is approximately 400. I'm pretty sure there have been 700+ (almost 1000 in '08) for the past few years.
Assuming everyone at reunions was cast (which they weren't) that would be just under 800 scareactors. We're just dealing with an estimate, so I guess it could be no biggie.
-
wow!, so i just got word that from reunion auditions. HHN has already cast 60% of the event.
If true, it sounds like Uni is cutting back on the # of scareactors this year.
-
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Carey, OH, the hometown of Patrick from Universal, you know, the guy at auditions and one of the creative minds behind HHN?
I don't know if Patrick is from OH or not, but he is a Seattle Mariners fan.

I know this may be a little off topic. But could there be a possibility of us having a completely Black and White haunted house, actors and environment all painted? I mean, it seems classic, and would really fit as a marker for the early years of HHN.
This is just an idea that popped into my head after seeing grey planks on the construction thread. So my apologies for randomness.
I know JW loves this idea. IIRC, he even created concept art based on a B&W scarezone idea that he had.

Just want to throw something out here...... The Shadows scarezone was not only presented to be a preview of HHN XX, but also used to gauge fan response and get some ideas from the diehard HHN followers. I know some people on here were interviewed for this purpose.
I'll say it again, think outside the box. Try not to base all of your speculation on Shadows of the Past.
-
Maybe there is no tie to the Storyteller, maybe Nightmare will lead us through this area/house. After all, he was there in the Shadows from the Past scarezone.
Nightmare was in the Shadows scarezone?

So, I thought I would start my first post off with a discovery/thought. I believe I may have figured out what one of the houses will be for this years Halloween Horror Nights XX. The Thing house.
With The Thing (movie) being released in early 2011, I have no doubt that this house, first seen at HHN XVII: Carnival of Carnage in 2007, will reappear this year. It will most likely be called The Thing: Resurrected – or something along those lines (as seen with previous repeat houses such as Scream House: Resurrected seen at HHN Sweet 16). The Thing house was also brought up in previous event clippings seen on the new teaser website for HHN XX, so I really believe that this could be one of the featured houses this year! I know there has been some rumors that there won't be any movie houses this year, but I really think even if it doesn't show up as a house, I'm sure we'll see it incorporated
Do you think this could be a possibility or not likely?
First off, you are offering your opinions but presenting them as facts. Do you really have "no doubt" and are "sure" that The Thing "will reappear this year"? You proclaim to even know what the house will be called. You even titled your blog "Breaking: The Thing House To Be At Halloween Horror Nights XX". I would be careful with the way you present your opinions.
To answer your question, yes I do think the Thing will return to HHN. Do I think it will return at this year's event? I think it's HIGHLY unlikely.

Good luck to everyone auditioning today. Relax, be enthusiastic and have fun.
-
Universal didn't have "permission" to use the characters in the ANDI houses. They were never referenced by their actual character/movie names.
Yeah, what Chop Top said.
-
I think they usually call by house/scarezone. However, this year it seems as if many different locations have already been called.

Somebody posted something a while back about a cyclops being cast? I haven't seen that anywhere else, can anybody confirm this and is this for the Shrek Alley scarezone or the soundstage house?
I can confirm that it has been posted on the internet. Don't forget that many of the roles that have been announced are not confirmed as of yet. The Cyclops role posted did not list a location.
As far as the roles that I feel confident in being legit, well here they are:
"Con-artists" in the Mel's sz.
"Sirens" in the Shrek Alley sz.
Chainsaws in the NY sz.
Chainsaws in the Hollywood sz.
"Patients" in the Sprung Tent #2 maze.
Most of the others seem legit as well, but at this point, who knows?

I don't remember much of them now anymore. But I remember Ghost Town standing out to me because of the room that smelled like cow poop. hah!
The only house I missed that year was Disorientorium. Ghost Town was my second favorite after Castle Vampyr. I remember the Horse Manure as well.
2000 was my first year but I don't remember too much from visiting back then. My 2nd year was 2004 and I have great memories from that trip.

But let's see... willow huts, yeah, a place where a SA can be stationed to spring out at those that wander too close. They used that sort of thing in 2005 in the Cemetery Mines scarezone didn't they?
I don't remember huts. there were the tall tree/scarecrow/Jeepers Creepers guys...
There were the little goblin gus running around with what sounded like a duck call...
The hooded skull looking guys...
And then the dapper dressed pumpkin guys.
Again, there is really info out there... I don't know who the good Doc is talking about... But so far I have heard pretty much the same from all my sources. No straight movie houses and mythology will be involved.
From 2005: "escaped Knuckle Grunts dart in and out of the Cemetery Mines tunnels, terrorizing and attacking anyone and anything that comes in their way."
The "tunnels" were indeed used again in 2006's Harvest of the Souls scarezone. Whether or not this pertains to "Willow Huts" is anyone's guess.
As an aside, I absoluelty loved the HoS zone. The scarecrow/Jeepers Creepers characters were great.

- Disorinterioum (Sp?)
- Ghost Town
- Horror In Wax
Did you have a favorite?

I think it's pretty safe to assume that there won't be a second story (for guest access) in the Jaws queue maze.
-
I could see the Hollywood zone being a photo op zone were it not for the chainsaws. As I speculated before, maybe the chainsaws cast for Hollywood are actually for a roaming CDT?
-
In scary tales 4 we wer in the three little bears room and we saw mama and baby bear. Thats when I was like, wait, wheres papa bear? *RRRRRRR* Papa bear comes out behind the curtain wit a chainsaw! Scared me half to death.
2 quick corrections: It was Scary Tales 3, and Papa Bear did not have a chainsaw.
-
With all of the chainsaws, I wonder if we'll see the return of the Chainsaw Drill Team roaming the park?
-
"Just laz"?? Anyways, i really dont think we are going to see mary shaw in the streets. That just sounds odd for any type of scarezone. And dead cheerleader? come on...Thats dead on to horrorwood. Its a code name.
That's a lot of random code-names for 1 zone, wouldn't you agree?
-
That list is of things we "think" we know. Take it with a grain of salt if you wish.

I believe that given the clues to the JAWS queue house that it could have a frat house theme. That's weird first we have a greek myth house and now a "greek" house.
Who knows if you're right about the Jaws maze, but don't forget about the frat bros from last year as well.

Nice work Laz. Thank you for taking the time to make and maintain this thread. I look forward to further updates. This needs to be pinned, for sure.
