  1. I'm usually a very positive person but this one scarezone thing really aggravates me. There has to me more like a chainsaw drill team and roaming zombies or something. The reason I love this event is to feel immersed in the event. I love looking out over the park and seeing fog rising over NY and the different lighting and screams coming from SF. I really hope you are wrong for a change and this isn't true.
  2. This doesn't mean there are only 6 houses does it?
  3. Is this the first time seeing TWD merch in Terminator, or in any of the parks for that matter.... or has it been there for a while??? I agree, that is a dead giveaway that their is a relationship
  4. Yea I think its almost imperative to have a shared house/sz... TWD to me is awesome and I am kind of agreeing the rest of you on this whole end of the world theme. There is so much you can do with that and I think it could be done really well.
  5. This is awesome... definitely TWD... I can't wait to see how this house will be constructed... I have a feeling it's going to go in the order of the show as if we were Rick. First room will probably be the hospital hallway and hopefully the finale will either be the epic scene by the farm with all the zombies or walking into the prison and coming face to face with the Governor.... I am pumped!!!!
  6. I think if we think about this that it only makes sense for Uni to have a 2 park event. I think a dueling icon theme would be epic. I think that is a great idea and would be something totally different. I can't see them charging separate tickets for each park, I don't think that will happen... yet. If it were to be separately ticketed events, it would be a kid friendly one but that won't happen this year. With the construction in Amity, I can't see Uni doing this. Once the construction is complete, I think it will happen.
  7. I believe you should be able to take pics but scareactors shouldn't be able to stop and pose. I saw this happen in a couple zones last year and it takes away from the overall experience of the other 1,000 people crammed into this zone that are missing out b/c someone wants to stop the actors from doing their jobs. This isn't the Simpsons or Mickey Mouse. And are you kidding me... if you want to be scared go to a house?!?! Its called a SCAREZONE... forgive me, maybe I don't quite understand... I thought a scarezone is meant to scare people. Maybe we should contact A&D and ask if they can set up Photo zone so you guys can line up and take pics. This is crazy...
  8. My first year going was in '02 when it was only at IOA and I have been to every event since. I loved the event in '04 when it was in both parks. There were dead parts but the connection between parks weren't all that bad. They had Fright Yard in between Lost Continent and New York. It worked well then and I am sure it could be drastically improved now.
  9. * Spoilers Ahead* Alright so where to start? Well, my wife and I usually go with a large group but this year its was just us and another couple. I have been going since HHN 12 and this was one of the funnest times I have ever had. Now a little background, we were a weee bit intoxicated so some details might have escaped my mind but I know what I liked and what I didn't. The Foresaken - Holy details!!! I think this was one of the best done houses in respect to set design. I was at first a little hesitant about this house b/c, well lets face it, we were walking into a warehouse with nothing on the outside or a facade once you go in. Once you got a little bit into the house I was blown away... When it opened up and all those sets of green eyes staring at me freaked me out...I LOVED IT!!! The feeling of dirt under my feet and the lopsided floor. I really felt immersed in this thing and I was amazing. The scares were ok but the uneasiness is what I loved. Great Job!!! Scares 4/5 Sets 6/5 The In Between - My personal favorite house. Now I was already a little hammered and going through here felt like I was really in another dimension. I didn't know where I was or what the hell was going on, which was great. I sobered up a bit when I came face to face with a demon in strobe lights and about lost my mind. The laser room was great as was the string room. There was just a constant intensity throughout this house and as always, the tunnel was fun. Awesome house! Scares 5/5 Sets 5/5 Saws N Steam - The concept was fun. I liked walking in with all the propaganda on the walls and over the speakers. You quickly realize that it was all B.S. and there is some nasty stuff going on. Loved the fingers floating in the fish tanks. Didn't get a lot of scares in here though... The gore was great and I saw the waterfall but Scuba Steve didn't wanna come out to play Solid house though and the chainsaw guy at the end... your my idol! You chased some little kid who was already scared shitless and made him cry. Then you turned around and made his older brother cry. CLASSIC!!! Scares 3/5 Sets 4/5 The Thing - Nice Facade and you can tell from the start things have gone haywire. Very loud but the guns were really corny. They seemed like cap guns... I know you can't have real guns but there has to be something a little more realistic. I honestly don't remember much about this house except it being really loud and the corny guns. I know i didn't hate it but just nothing really memorable. Scares 2/5 Sets 3.5/5 Nightingales - This was a house I was anticipating most. The atmosphere was great along with the banshees. The best part of the house was when a soldier yelled at me to run and a banshee grabbed him and squirted "blood" all over me and they both disappeared. I was loving that scene. Never got to see the body torn apart but I loved the Banshee leaning over the trench and chewing on a arm that was hanging over. Awesome! Scares 4/5 Sets 4.5/5 Winter's Night - Ahhhh this one drives me nuts. I was so disappointed with this house. Maybe it was due to a cast change b/c I only had 2 scareactors pop out and literally go "boo". The facade was great as were the sets but that was it. We got nothing... you now the feeling when b/c you are the dork on the message boards you know everything and say, this one is awesome and we can't miss it.... and then that happens and you look like a clown...Guilty as charged. O well, I'm sure its a great house, just bad timing. H.R. Bloodengutz - Awesome que video... thought it was hysterical and a little sick at the same time. You have to look at this house for what it is... you can't expect a house like the In Between with tons of crazy ass scares. You have to go in expecting to leave with a smile on your face and laugh. That is exactly what happened. Who doesn't love a rabid easter bunny and a decapitated santa?! Tv's were a great touch to introduce each room. Scares 2/5 Sets 3/5 We didn't get to go thru Poe... a half hour after the gates opened the wait was 45 mins and never really went down. Now onto the scarezones... 7 - Cool idea and a lot of good make up. Liked the music and lighting. Fun zone Scares 3/5 Sets 3/5 Grown Evil - Awesome atmosphere and creepy, not really scary through. Great costumes and the birds were interesting, just no scares Scares 1/5 Sets 4.5/5 Canyon of Dark Souls - I really liked this zone. The only drawback was the length... I wanted more lol. The Canyon is ominous as hell with the fog and fire and tall, cloaked "souls" lol. Really enjoyed it. Scares 4/5 Sets 4/5 Acid Assault - The scareactors here were pretty intense... they were going after everyone. The projections were awesome... I just felt like something was missing, I just can't put my finger on it. Scares 3.5/5 Sets 4/5 Nightmaze - Not a whole to say here... got a startle out of me which is more than I expected Scares 2/5 Sets 2/5 Well that's pretty much it. Bill and Teds was definitely not on par with past years. I'm easily amused and this at times hurt to watch. I can't believe some of the characters they used when they had so much to choose from. It's worth it to see it once but I wouldn't again. All in all it was an awesome year and I am ready for next year.
  10. Does anyone have a pic of the blinky cups?
  11. Seems like Sunday is going to be a popular day, we will be going too. I always do the tents and parade building first and work my way around to the sound stages last. Always works the best for me
  12. Nice to see someone really enjoying canyon of dark souls and nightmaze. Haven't heard a lot of good things about it but now this gives me some hope it will be good. Can't wait for Sunday
  13. The scarezone reviews really give me hope. I have heard such negativity about them. Can't wait to go
  14. For everyone going tonight... can you get pics of the facades?

    Review

You gotta take this for what it is. You can't please everybody. For ever 8 good reviews you get 1 really negative one. Happens a lot. Don't let it get your hopes down for the event... I think its gonna be better than the last few years
  16. Thanks for the review... you really got me excited for Nightingales
  17. Yea that comment of next year being his favorite year really intrigued me as well. Just a few more days!!
  18. Ok that is a long ass sentence and what language are you speaking??
  19. I'm so glad I have ppl coming with me who always go to Howl O' Scream... you won't see this type of production there. This will blow them away
  20. I have hated the 3D houses but that is b/c they weren't really scary. I don't fear clowns or anything like that. Usually 3D houses don't have characters like the one in the pic above. I am very excited for this house and think it could be one of the best of the year. Probably the best 3D house since i have been going in 2002.
  21. See I love the idea of Lady Luck... she has some mystery to her and looks damn creepy. The bird intrigues me... I am just very pleased with this year's theme, unlike this time last year.
  22. For some reason it is hard for me to rank these houses... I'm not a fan of 3D houses b/c they usually aren't scary, just cartoonish. This year it seems like they are trying to make it actually scary. Well, here goes my rankings... 1. Nightengales: Blood Prey- Sounds like if done correctly it could be insane. I envision a crazy atmosphere with lots of intensity, I just hope my expectations aren't too high 2. Winter's Night- Sounds creepy as hell and I can only imagine the atmosphere 3. Holidays of Horror- Love the humor houses 4. Nevermore: The Madness of Poe- Very cool idea and if executed could be classic 5. Saws n' Steam- This house screams in your face intensity... hope they have those crazy eyes like last year 6. The In Between- Not a fan of 3D houses but this seems pretty good 7. The Thing- Enjoyed the first time they did this... I'm sure it can only improve 8. The Foresaken- Original but I have my doubts... If it is done correctly I can see it being top notch VERY hard to pick these houses in an order of anticipation. I can't remember when it has been this hard. My only drawback is it doesn't seem that Lady Luck has her own house.
  23. One word for this year... Original. I love how everything is a new concept. Not that I don't like Dracula or Zombies but this all seems very creative and fresh. I can't wait for this year. I just have one question... Where is Lady Luck's house????
