And now for something completely different: We have nine houses for the anniversary year with one of them in an all new location and a current location leaving. I heard from someone last year that with all the construction going on Universal has been working to make sure the event stays within the studios and does not spill over into IOA. I am curious, given this information, if that means next year we will be back to an eight house event with the Shrek theater becoming a permanent house location? They could justify it as the extra house was only because it was an anniversary year and that they never intended to keep the house count at nine. Heck, if Diagon opens up the ninth house is going to pale in capacity comparison to having access to that section of the park. If this ends up being the case, I withdraw any argument I have made for houses from the past coming back exactly as they were and hope we have no more scene for scene repeat houses.

Agree in theory, but maybe not in practice. The reason I say that is because, if they want to repeat give us some of the older houses. Dust off the mothballs on something presented 10 years ago before TWD brought in a whole new and different crowd and give the new attendees something they have never seen before and the older attendees something from the past that they loved. Edit: I am saying this under the provision that they keep providing us with nine houses. I am not sure if that will continue, but if it does I would be fine as long as they adhere to a nine house count and try some of the older houses.

According to another site, they are keeping it secret this year. Best guess, expect two IPs and one original per tour (as to the breakdown after that, who knows).

I may not have explained why some are saying it is not an icon year well enough. Earlier icon years the icons did not have such strong ties to every house and usually they had a house of their own and all the advertising. They were still called icons, but they had not yet become the throughline that brought the whole event into one singular story. Later icon years the icon story somehow tied every house and scarezone together. Whether the tie was deep (Terra Cruentus and Bloody Mary) or shallow (Jack's Carnival of Carnage or The Usher) the icon somehow had some tie to every house and scarezone. These are what most people refer to when they are talking about icon years. Then in 20 and 21 there were icons but they ended up with just a scarezone a piece and (in the case of 20) had little to no ties to each house. Depending upon what you consider an icon year to be depends upon how you see this year.

I agree that this commercial is better than the past few years, but not quite what we have had in the past. That being said, I am not sure if this qualifies as an icon year or a year with icons. The first few icons really just served as a face and had their own house while the later icons tied the whole event together. Depending upon how you look at things you could call it an early icon year or (if you are going by the later icons) just another year with icons present. Whatever you define it as, I am happy to see the icons represented and really hope this means 2016 will have a new original icon that can become as well known as Jack.

No problem. Sadly I cannot use 2013 as a barometer as they only had 3 original houses with one being 3D and the other being in the Disaster queue (have they ever done a lights on tour in this location?) so the only original lights on was La Llorona. Given the four originals, I am expecting Body Collectors and Monster and Mayhem to be the two originals with the IP houses all a toss up depending upon rights issues.

Couldn't Jack just use the queue space CITW had? I recall that having a lot of space (but maybe my memory has dulled). Looking at the map below I would think there is more queue space if you make Jack's first and use all of the room behing SS21. Also, how do you see them running the two queues without having the entrances or exits cross? Thank you for any insight you have!

I love the idea and decoration of this scarezone and it would be my most anticipated BUT the Jack show is right freaking there. Concerns over noise leaks and more congestion than usual make me wary of a zone I want to love.

I am not saying this is wrong, but isn't Jack in 21 and AWIL in 22? If so, wouldn't it make more sense to enter Jack at A and AWIL at B and have them both exit down Twister Alley?

In the past Rush of Fear Plus Express gives you express for any night you can use the pass. Oddly, the wording on the website does not make that clear this year so if you are nervous about assuming it is the same thing, I would just call them up and ask.

From the perspective of a fan who just wants the announcements I agree; but I am curious if the GP has even noticed a difference in the announcement scedule? I mean, the delay could be a tactic to boost ticket sales BEFORE they announce the properties that will potentially turn people off.

To me, the bigger question is, what is the cost going to be when adding in this theoretical "After 10pm" Express? Also, if they are offering an After 10pm Express, does that mean the park will be open PAST midnight every night?

From what I have heard, Universal is looking to reconfigure/expand their parades and is building another parade warehouse in the MIB expansion pad. Should we assume that this is where the rumored third tent house will go instead?

I have heard tell that all future attraction plans must be worked into the plans of any major attractions/expansions to the studios and that they would prefer to keep it to the one park. Could they be forced to make it two park due to construction? Possibly. But Teebin on OU says that they want to keep it 'within its most recent boundaries'.

Okay, so if Nintendo goes into Kidzone and the MIB plot we could potentially lose two or three house locations (Sprungs and Parade). Rumors are also flying that there will be a Disaster replacement soon so that potentially takes another house location away. There are also rumors of a Twister replacement but that one may not lose us a house location so much as they would have to reroute the queue location (assuming they want the attraction open for HHN). Worst case scenario, we lose four house locations in the Studios. Moving over to Islands, there are rumors of an upgrade coming to Marvel that may add a new ride so, depending upon the footprint of said attraction, we cannot absolutely count on the Carnage Warehouse. The Triceratops Encounter trails are supposedly going to hold a JW raptor meet and greet so they might be out as well. The other four locations (Discovery Center, Thunderfalls Terrace, Popeye and Bluto, and Poseidon) are currently 'safe' but in a few years, who knows? With the dwindling house locations it might become harder to put on the event. Add to that the fact that having the event in two parks may not be profitable enough to justify shutting both parks down for the event.To me this begs the question, at what point does it become more costly to put on HHN than to not? Personally, my friends and I only visit Universal yearly due to HHN, so not having it would remove our incentive to visit the resort every year. Remove HHN from the equation and you have lost yourself six regular visitors. Does Universal/Comcast know that an audience like this exists? Better yet, do we out of staters represent a large enough segment of their population during Sept/Oct for them to care?

Don't get me wrong, I like your idea, but Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, and Donkey Kong have all been tv shows and two of the four have had movies made out of them.

Or retheme all of Toon Lagoon to Spongebob. That would be fairly on the nose too.

I figure one of the hordes will be Havoc and I am not sure if that will be the male or female horde.
