  1. There is the possibility of it being a flag or sail. When there is a particularly strong wind, the rope or metal on a flag can smack against a pole and make that sound. However, I don't hear any rustling from canvas or cloth. Until I can here the full audio and not just that clip, or we have it revealed to us, I am going to stick with horseshoes, since the second hit seems to strike and strike a second time almost instantly. And there is that sound at the end that sounds like something landed in sand or dirt.
  2. Perhaps the scratches came from scraping against something, such one of those card holders, or from being dragged across a table a number of times.
  3. I looked at Elizabeth Hawthorne's tombstone and I tried to look at the dates. I couldn't read them fast enough so I couldn't read the death, but it looks like her DOB is 1881 as far as I could tell. Can anyone confirm? Edit: DOD 1938?
  4. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that the Albert Cane/ Cindy storyline took place in Noble, Georgia. At least that is what I saw on the building permit on the 2006 site.
  5. I only live 45 minutes away from Carey, Ohio (or 20 minutes from my campus). Carey does not have a pier or casino. Carey is completely landlocked and the only bodies of water are the reservoirs. http://maps.google.com/maps?q=carey+ohio&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wl And a picture: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Carey_from_the_air.jpg Also, there are no old casinos. Most of the gambling that happened in Ohio was either up in Lake Erie or on the Ohio River, closer to the Canada or Kentucky sides respectively, usually through riverboats. The only real interesting thing in Carey is that there is a Basilica and Shrine of Our Lady of Consultation. If you go into the basement, you can see hundreds of crutches, cots, and pictures of people who have been cured at the spot. As awesome as it was to have Bloody Mary associated with something close to home in 2008 and that Spawning from 2009 was set here as well, I do not think we will see Carey make an appearance this year. Then again, if it is about an illegal/hidden casino (if it is a casino) it could be set here. Still, in my personal opinion, I would rule out Carey. And just in case any of you were interested in Carey, Ohio: http://www.careyohio.org/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carey,_Ohio http://www.olcshrine.com/
  6. This is a nice teaser page. I really like the music and the feel.
  7. In my mind, I have two theoreis as to what the Portametus actually is. The first is that it is a physical thing, like a medallion and that by saying something or by allowing light to hit it, it opens a gateway, like the mirror of twilight from Twilight Princess. If that's the case, then it could work as a gateway where fear can come out, but we could go in. My second theory is that the Portametus is not a physical object and is a symbol that must be drawn, or created as we did with the photos to open a gateway.
  8. You're not alone. I've go a night class at 6 tomorrow. And I was looking forward to this too. I would bring my laptop, but my prof is really strict about laptops and cell phones.
  9. FB message Interim Status Report 083010 Scott V. Gordon, S.E. Cell Director Current investigation yielding unprecedented volume of contribution, observation and analysis. Preliminary Review Teams working overtime. Allison D. Endicott has authorized a full COLLECTIVE briefing to be conducted online within 48 hours. Please be prepared with short concise questions for staff, counsel and executives. Be ready with specific details if you feel they are pertinent. Thank you for you continued support. SVG
  10. I thought Fear sounded like the Cybermen from Doctor Who.
  11. This is all true, but sometimes, people take fear too far. The fear you described is natural and is based on instinct. However, there are some who let fear control their lives. Sometimes, fear can be irrational, such as fearing a shark attack if you live in the middle of a state (like Ohio), while you are nowhere near an ocean or have never been attacked. I believe the fear that Adaru represents is not fear to protect us, but fear that ultimately leads to our own destruction. I'm about to go fan-boy and quote Yoda (I'm sorry) but remember that "fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate and hate leads to suffering." If Adaru is anything like the evils represented throughout the world, from Satan to Loki and everything else in between, then Adaru will use our irrational fears against us to cause destruction.
  12. According to Jewish mysticism, she was. However, she refused to become subservient to Adam and because of this, she was either cast out or refused to return to of the Garden of Eden, depending on what source you use. Most modern stories claim that she is the consort of Satan and is the mother of many demons, some from Satan and some from Cain (fun fact, Jadis the White Witch from Chronicles of Narnia is said to be one of her descendants). What is interesting is that there is a Sumerian version of her mentioned in the Epic of Gilgamesh. She is also said to be related to, or the mother of, the Succubi.
  13. But isn't Lilith supposed to be the consort of the devil? Although...perhaps that is IH's role in all of this.
  14. So the five icons are demons that release the Demon/God of Fear. But have the icons aways been aware of their purpose, or do they have to be awakened like the sages in Ocarina of Time?
