  1. Thank you for making this a separate section...wasn't trying to be a d**k...just so many BS posts on the SPECULATION post. Sorry for sounding like a baby, just sick of the BS posts under speculation thread making me think there was more info to be had! Flame away...........
  2. Well, then you guys have fun with your silly little games. I'll come back when there's actually some SPECULATION on this page. I know I hardly have any posts here, but this seems like the kind of garbage that the mods delete to "clean up the thread" and give a warning. Maybe your little inside game has some info at the end of it, but zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
  3. Lizz posted the same gibberish over on HHNRumors
  4. That's actually quite popular: http://cellphonebot.com/less-than-10/premium-black-and-silver-ace-skull-spade-design-rubberized-shield-hard-case-cover-atom-led-keychain-light-for-samsung-galaxy-prevail-boost-mobile-14569 http://peperonity.com/go/media/16582996!3 http://www.greatleathers.com/motorcycle-helmets/hawk-helmets/advanced-hawk-ace-skull-modular-dual-visor-full-face-motorcycle-helmet.html A quick google image search of Ace Spades Skull results in nearly 300,000 hits. A regular google search turns up 1.3 MILLION hits. I've seen it quite a bit including an awesome custom chopper in Myrtle Beach for Biker Week a few years ago....have to see if I can track down that picture.... ------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT - can't find the Ace of Spades bike, but found some pix I took of some pretty cool "horror" related bikes. The Ace of Spades bike was Black and Silver and pretty awesome. Have to track down the pictures, but I know the light reflecting off the silver made the photo washed out so I must not have uploaded it (The price of that bike: ) Nothing horror related, but just a cool shot:
  5. Dead Man's Hand is 2 pair, A's and 8's...so the fact that it shows an A-Q hand doesn't make a whole lot of sense. A lot of people misinterpret "Dead Man's Hand" as 2-7 offsuit, the worst hand in poker and Doyle Brunson won 2 tournaments with 2-10 offsuite and I've heard that referred to as "Dead Man's Hand" as well.
  6. Hellgate Prison needs a second go. Wouldn't mind another Disentorium either. Of course, I think both houses are from my first year, so that might have something to do with my fondness for these two
  7. I completely agree. Why go thought the whole reunion, VIP secrets revealed, everybody there if you're just going to take a Icon from years past??? I think that would mess up good will with the general public when you make this big deal about throwing everyrhing away and starting a whole new realm of darkness...and then just reusing a character the very next year. Doesn't make any sense to me.
  8. Read through the Speculation (Part 1) thread...LOTS of speculation about what "Runes" mean and stuff. Been a while since I read through all bazillion posts, but I think you'll find some speculation surprising (and some links to Wiki pages).
  9. I would think this is a slam dunk for the event: http://nation.foxnews.com/florence-henderson/2011/06/27/brady-bunch-mom-got-crabs-affair-ny-mayor
  10. No, no codenames on the permits this year thus far. Only thing known is one scene/room (I think in a sprung tent, but not positive) is "Rune Room".
  11. After seeing the Website update, I want card-based Scaractors all over the park. 4 guys dressed like crazy Kings 4 guys dressed like Jacks (maybe some medeval armor) 4 sexy queens And of course, 2 CLOWN Jokers (non-Jack of course) Then, various other scareactors with emblems or patches on them designating some as 8 of clubs, or 4 of diamonds. Then some kind of "easter egg" contest where if you get your picture taken with all 54, you get a limited edition shirt declaring you a dealer. If you get your picture taken with all the face cards, aces, and jokers you get some plastic necklace that has a deck of cards on it. Give the die hards with the FFPs something to try for. These could be simple variations of existing merchandise, but I think it would be a cool thing to add and it wouldn't be advertised on the website or anything, just a newsletter to those who subscribe...or a text to those who signed up for updates. That way, it wouldn't cost them too much and only the "hard core" fans who get the updates or visit forums will know about it.
  12. From HHNRumors.com: They go on to link to story itself: http://www.onlineflorida.co.uk/ProductDetail.aspx?PI=703
  13. Just saw this on ScreamScape (yeah, I know people don't like that site): I wonder if that means we should expect a ticket price increase for HHN? Only posting it here because there's no forum for prices and I am speculating on ticket prices for the event.
  14. OK, I've been (wrongly) called a troll here before since I don't post very often and I don't know a whole lot about the day to day goings on at Universal (on account I live in NY) but.... Are these IP issues "Real" or just fan imagination. At the VIP event last year, my friends and I talked to TJ for like an hour before he brought us through some houses and we asked him point blank if they'd ever have it at both parks. He said, "maybe in the future". I said there were lots of rumors online about the Suess Estate and he flat out denied it saying, "Not true. If we can think of a concept that benefits from using both parks again, we will strongly consider it." OK, that's a paraphrase as it's been 8+ months since he said it, but I could also understand a "gag order via hand shake agreement" with the Suess Estate to not "blame them". OK, flame away....
  15. (Flame away, but....) as someone who's NEVER seen the Beetleguise (or however they spell it in the movie) show, I'd welcome this. It's not like I AVOID the show, it's just as someone in Upstate NY who only comes down for HHN, I've never had the chance to see the show since it doesn't play during the day during HHN. Would actually love to see it. Might suck for the locals, but would be good for those who travel long distances just for HHN. EDIT: Of course, they'd have to make it Rated R (or at least PG-13) for the event.
  16. Couldn't agree more. His show was repetitive every year...even last year the two Malice and whatever shows were derivative of the past few years. That wouldn't be a bad thing if the show was really good. I found chatting with Brian after the show to be 100x more enjoyable than the show itself. I love the RHPS and want them to bring it back. It was so much fun and I think really fit in with the event. I know, it never changes either...but it's so great that 36 years later, it's still awesome every time. The WORST idea they could have would be to do a Shock Treatment tribute
  17. While I've gone to a bunch of HHN's, I pretty much forget about the specifics of the event by the next year and don't have a vast knowledge of room names and stuff so I appologize for posting bad info. I had that blog bookmarked from last year as they DID have really good construction photos
  18. I live in NY and buy the FFP every year. We go down to Orlando for 6 days, 5 nights. The pass covers us for Wed, Thur and Sun. Then, for Fri and Sat, we do the Stay N Scream (or whatever option) since we have a 7-day Universal pass so we just buy tix for that night in the park. Saves a lot of money just for those 3 nights, so anybody "local" who doesn't buy one is pretty crazy.
  19. So, instead of raising the ticket price $5 you'd rather they raise the parking by $5...the shirts by $10...the alcohol by alot. Really? That sounds like the BS that a marketing firm would pull to make it look like they lowered prices while actually raising the cost of attending for 99% of attendees. Think of someone who buys a frequent fear pass and lives local. To save you $5 on a single visit, they'd have to pay an additional $50 or more on parking to attend the event? Parking isn't even an option like alcohol and shirts. Sorry, but horrible argument.
  20. So you took pictures...of your own photos...in the exhibit. That's soooo cool! And I took particular notice of your first photo when looking around thinking "Damn, wish I could have gotten that shot last year!".
  21. Go to the Event Reviews section under my post called "HHN VIP Oct 1st Review" or whatever I called it....someone put a follow up about the 7th where they had Legondary Truth there to talk about Mary Agna and they handed out LT Lanyards afterwords. Would copy and paste, but at work with limited goof off time so don't want to go find it and come back.
  22. Oh, another thing TJ said.... When we asked if they ever planned on doing it at 2 parks again he basically said: Recently, it has made sense to have it condensed in a single park as much as possible and it fit better at Universal. In the future, if the environments in Islands of Adventure are advantageous to the "theme" of the event, they may very well go back there. And he's heard the rumors too, but there is NO PROBLEM with having HHN there due to the Dr Suess estate. That's just a false rumor. Forgot about that little tidbit until now...and it should be said I'd had my fair share of drinks before and during the talk so I have to talk to my 2 friends this weekend and see if they remember anything else that I forgot
  23. Well, I'm glad for all the under 21 people who wanted to see the exhibit. I think that their initial reasoning for the 21+ requirement (which I had no idea about as we didn't get carded or anything...though we're all 33 and up) was the promised "VIP Waitress Drink Service" or whatever it was. It's a cocktail waitress with a tray coming around and I can see where having to ID everybody would be difficult. I don't think it was meant to exclude younger people, but to make that a non issue. Also, it's a bunch of "history" that has DO NOT TOUCH all over it and stuff like that and we saw kids as young as about 5 there. I think that might be a consideration as well and if you said 18 and up or 16 and up, there would be people mad and it's hard to justify an arbitrary age. Making it 21+ because of alcoholic beverages being served is a totally logical cut off point. I can see their reasoning...but then again, I'm 36 so it doesn't affect me.
  24. I posted this in the HHNVIP topic I had started as well, but figured I might as well put it here as well since it fits. And I'm not going to get into the war about it being a 21 and over only lounge (which I think is simply so the cocktail waitress didn't have to deal with IDs and stuff). Link to some pictures: http://s833.photobucket.com/albums/zz256/littledavej/HHNXX%20VIP/ OK, so the VIP lounge is open EVERY night, but the Thursday ones are the only one where there's a speaker talking about the weekly topic. We went Friday since Thursday was our first night there and wanted to get every house done. Also, the 8pm and 10pm times are for the speakers I assume, but you get a VIP wrist band and can come and go as you please from 8-11pm so you aren't slaved to those times on non-speaker days. My group of 7 went in around 10:30 Friday night and it was semi-crowded. Wandered around taking pictures (see above post) and had a couple drinks brought to us by the cocktail waitress. Nice service, but nothing special. While we're in there, all the past Icons were coming and going. I'd imagine the building is where they come and swap out for their shiftchanges, but that's just a guess. So around 10:45ish, everybody had cleared out by my group and 2 other people. And a guy came up to us to see how we liked the event and stuff. Now, I live in upstate NY so I only come down for a couple nights and don't follow everything, but when his name badge said TJ, I knew who he was. He hung out with my group and told us a ton of stories for at least an hour. Thursday's topic was the Extreme Houses and he gave us quite a discussion about them...some highlights: The one was to require a waiver that they were not responsible for any physical or mental injuries that may occur. Scaractors were allowed to touch you. You were given a safe phrase like "fluffy bunny feet" (or something about that funny) to be pulled out of the house. Each house at HHN has about 25 scaractors in it at a time, this house would have had the same. Approximately 6 people would go into the house at once. But I don't think you ever "teamed up"...I think you just all went into the church together. You'd be brought into a church and sat down at a pew, then a couple scaractors would come and place a robe on you with a big hood that would hang over your eyes so you couldn't see anything. You'd be "escorted" and laid down flat on a "table" in the pitch dark. Then you'd be told to open your eyes and you'd be in a coffin that they "folded up" around you. Depending on how much you freak out, they'd hit a switch right away or after a while and then the bottom of the casket would open and you'd fall on the ground and immediately be chased and "funneled" to where they wanted you to go. There'd be lots of running and come climbing...it would be a physical house. Not a passive walk through, but a very physically active participation house. There's a lot more, but that's a good idea of how it would go. Then after a while, it was just me and two friends left talking to him (the other 4 guys in our group kinda got bored I guess) and he asked us what our favorite house was (Hades, BY FAR) and said, "let's go do it...is that OK?" and we said our one friend hadn't done PsychoScarapy yet so he took us to that house, took us in the backway and showed us some stuff, had security stop the line and we went through the house by ourselves (all 7 of us, picked up our other 4 friends waiting outside). I think he was trying to get rid of us, and it worked, as that was the last we saw of him :-) Still, it was an amazing time for me and my one friend who are really into it...and one of the two "virgins" in our group who wanted to learn all he could. Best $10 we spent at the event and meeting TJ was cool, but the best part was we had no idea who he was so it wasn't like we were yelling his name and following him around so he sought us out and volunteered all this information and you can tell how much he LOVES his job and how much he wants everybody who comes to have a great experience. Unfortunately, 99.9% of those who attend won't have this experience, but it made a great event nearly PERFECT and figured I'd share some of the details.
