  1. Obviously, this is for Hollywood...but "next week" is this week and I can't imagine the next reveal not being a joint announcement...
  2. Awesome, thanks for the info! Definitely sounds worth it. Called to get some info and didn't get much help, but did get some interesting info about the UTH tours when they transferred me to the VIP people that I was able to share in another post....well, after I told the VIP person that I was interested in the "Behind the Screams Tour" and she wasn't sure what I was talking about. Ooops.
  3. I called about making reservations and they explained that if you just do one tour, you meet in Universal and head away from the SS's (I guess towards the Tents). If you book both, you start in IOA and go to the SS's first. This is due to how popular the tours have become and and they are trying something new as last year tours "routinely caught up to each other" but this was "subject to change" if it doesn't work out or something. I think they always started out going to the hottest houses first to get them out of the way...and they're changing it up this year due to crowds. Also, last year we were CRAMMED in the VIP area downstairs as some Harry Potter tour was meeting upstairs...so utilizing the IOA VIP area makes perfect sense. All the tours end in Universal and you will have to give proof of having a park ticket that day or you will exit through the VIP area. Same as what they always say and never enforce Take this for what you will as often times calling doesn't get you correct answers, but she was in the VIP office and was extremely nice and seemed very knowledgeable.
  4. A decade ago this would have excited me. Now, my old ass is confident I'll be back at the hotel sleeping before the event closes each night I'm there Maybe I'll put my Big Boy Pants on one night and try to power through all the houses one last time after midnight when the lines get remarkably shorter.
  5. Has anybody done this before? $50 seems a bit pricey since you will encounter the same Scareactors in the streets, but if it's decent food and a cool experience, it could be worth it. A few questions for anybody who did it last year: 1) How's the food? 2) I see that people take your picture with Scareactors and you get to download one picture they take of you with your admission. Are you allowed to take pictures yourself while you're in there? 3) How many different Scareactors are there and are they a cross section of the event (like 1 from each different scare zone) or is it like a partial shift for a singular zone that show up? 4) How long is it? Like do you have to stuff your face and be out of there within an hour...or is it a leisurely meal that lasts from before the park closes to when it re-opens for HHN? Thanks for any info! Definitely doing both UTH Tours again this year, but on the fence whether to try to get some other guys from group to sign up for this too
  6. Much to my chagrin, I think that's been officially ruled out by someone "in the know". NOTHING would make me happier than them being wrong....
  7. I think it's obvious CriticalAnalysis get's his jollies off annoying the hell out of people with his crybaby attitude. Maybe if we ignore him, he'll go away. Anywho, I love the 26 logo. Obviously looks like a mirror, with comedy and tragedy skulls. Makes me think she's going to have a splintered personality that is going to play out. Would be cool if one personality was the game playing version we've seen before...and the other side was just an all out evil and mean version. Not talking a Lady Luck face transformation, but just an attitude/personality switch. I know we're going to have the reality vs performance issues she's dealing with from the announcement, but would be cool to have a schizophrenic murderous dual personality arc as well. Something like in the show have her toy with some victims and just ravage others in savage and violent ways. If she thinks it's a performance, she toys with her victims. If she thinks it's real life she feels threatened and her fight or flight syndrome kicks in and she just goes to town in a brutal way. I personally always find that compelling in movies (Joe Pesci in Goodfellas) and TV shows (Tony in the Sopranos). That viciousness just below the surface is terrifying and would be a good counterbalance to her playfulness. It makes her "normal" or "playful" self all the more unnerving as you know the other personality is just a split second away.
  8. The regular RoF only went up $8...less than $1 per day it's valid for which is decent. The express is really just for lazy @$$holes like me and my friends. I think that's great as it doesn't really price people out of the event since the express isn't mandatory. Like the new Yankee stadium raised tickets for the bleachers by like $14 (about 150% increase) per ticket when they moved into the new stadium. The seats behind homeplate? Well, they went up by $2,700 (1,000% increase). That's good business to put the majority of the increase burden on the luxury tickets.
  9. I'm hoping the higher express cost has that affect on others too The Express lines are getting a little crazy. Not belittling you or anybody else for not wanting to pay the money or anything, but I fly down for 4 nights so the money is still well worth it to me. If I lived in Orlando, I'd just go with the new every night of the event pass for $100 LESS and go whenever I felt like it and just walk out if the lines were too long. It would be really nice to not feel like i absolutely have to do every house every night. Hell, we usually only do the parks once during the day, but buy the $220 7 day ticket just so we can get in the holding pens to hammer out 3 houses as soon as the event opens and then save the expresses for those houses for later in the night.
  10. Don't want to steal anybody's posts, so here's a link to the original and then only a partial copy of what they have there. They break down every single ticket. http://forums.orlandounited.com/threads/hhn-26-ticket-rip-tours-and-pass-information.10011/page-6 General Admission: $101.99/$104.99 (Up $3 this year) Rush of Fear: $83.99/$91.99 (Up $8 this year) Rush of Fear Express: $219.99/$299.99 (Up $80 this year!) Frequent Fear: $94.99/$102.99 (Up $8 this year) Frequent Fear Express: $234.99/$319.99 (Up $85 this year!) Frequent Fear Plus: $110.99/$118.99 (Up $8 this year) Frequent Fear Plus Express: $279.99/$399.99 (Up $120 this year!!!!!) Ultimate Fear: $200 (New) Ultimate Fear Express: $600 (New)
  11. I'm VERY excited by this development as I was hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst with no Icon. I don't follow the backstory and stuff as much as everybody else (THANKS for the writeup JDW!), but just to have a "face of the event" versus the "top 3 IPs" is always appreciated. I also loved last year's show, so having an Icon gives me a ton of hopes for another one this year! Also allows me to throw out, yet again, how much I LOVED the projection technology for Acid Assault and hope they take that to the next level. I want buildings to periodically be encased in a strong white light to make them look porcelain, then start to crack with breaking porcelain sounds, and then break apart and then have have Chance emerge laughing (all done by projection of course) and saying something or whatever. Or the house breaking apart and then her as a porcelain doll spinning on a carousel laughing. You get the point. It would be an awesome way to interject her into the streets, as the real actress, and tell some of the backstory to people not in the know. The show could do the same with a big white/fake porcelean chance....play some dancing around music, project it cracking apart and fogging up (as it slides through a trap door) and then Chance comes skipping out of the fog for her reveal.
  12. Knew you'd have some kind of complaint about it...though lack of a penis wasn't on my radar.
  13. I'm sick of TWD too, but don't have the insane amount of animosity that everybody else has. I'm kinda excited for this house. Trying to find enough key moments from a season to do the house justice was a little crazy (like causing them to have the hot tub zombies). I think allowing them to do a "best of" for all 6 seasons has the potential to be pretty awesome. Yes, I know, Zombies aren't scary. But neither are Penn & Teller, or Clowns, or Dolls, or Marionettes, or Alice in Wonderland, or tons of the other stuff they've done over the years. If the scaractors bring the energy, they can give you all the scares possible.
  14. Exactly. Made me wonder if Universal told "webistes" and "companies" that they'd lose interview/preview/etc etc etc opportunities if they posted leaks this year. Forums are just members posting info and really can't be held liable, to an extent, for breaking a cease and desist type order...but a website where all the updates/info is posted by "owners" or "employees" of the sites with advertising revenue generated and such. Just curious...but personally, I love it.
  15. Kinda odd that sites like Screamscape (I only check like 3 sites other than here for HHN news), and others that will rename nameless, who seem to me to come here, read the posts, and then "break the exclusive news from their reliable sources" have been pretty quiet around stuff like the all but explicitly stated Halloween 2 house and other pretty thinly veiled hints. Just strikes me as odd since they usually take the first list posted (or even Dr Jimmy's April Fool's) and break the news about what they're hearing. Screamscape in particular has been VERY quiet.
  16. Except that Universal itself is a movie studio and every single ride in the park is at least partially based based on an IP (maybe there is one or two that aren't....like Dualing Dragons though they now claim it to be Potter-based...and stuff like the pteradactyl kiddie ride that ties in with JP). It's a movie theme park designed to draw in movie fans. So having IPs, not just for marketing, is a must. If they had an all original event, it would be odd. Like if Disney were to have an event where there was no Mickey, Goofy, etc present. When I go to ANYTHING at Disney, I expect to see Disney Characters. When I go to Legoland, I expect to see Legos up the ying yang. When I go to Universal, I expect to see movie characters. It's not smart to alienate your fan base, betray your mission statement, and not give the people what they want. They put all their eggs in the IP basket when they created the park, and it's worked pretty damn well for them and they're expanding throughout the world. They keep the rides as long as they're popular and relevant...and then they demolish them and replace them with more current IPs and updated technology. They have the experience and knowhow to make these adjustments and will make them for HHN for years to come. Universal has HHN and I'd argue it's the most popular haunt in the US...and it was built on IPs...so it would be marketing suicide to try to move completely away from them. I live right by the Headless Horseman Hayrides in upstate NY and it's ranked one of the best haunts in the country and I never go. Why? Because if you've been there once you've been there a hundred times. It's just people in scary masks and nothing that I have a built up understanding of the back story. I live 60 miles outside NYC and there are tons of year round haunts there....that nobody goes to and I only went to one and wasn't very impressed. Yet I've been flying down to Florida for over a decade to shell out money for HHN and am extremely excited to see what IPs they have, rent/buy the movies to catch up, and then "Live the Movies" at the event.
  17. Ha ha ha, sorry, stupid cell phone auto-correct doesn't recognize "3D" and had fun changing it. Any rumors of a 3D house this year?
  18. Are you still hearing no 3D house? I know I'm one of 5 people here who look, forward to them every year, but pretty sure your (or someones) initial rumors was no 3D house.
  19. Are you trying to make me think my Jurassic World insanity might be possible? Ha ha ha. Funny how you can pull something out of your @$$ and then get a vague clue that makes you start to think you might kinda....possibly....be on to something. (No, I don't think I'm right in any way shape or form. Kinda hopping for a balls-out Hellraiser house with Clive Barker's involvement!)
  20. 1) Sorry for my last post. It was from my tablet and Legacy's quote came over gray, so while trying to turn the text white I somehow accidentally made it a really obnoxious size, color and font. 2) I'll miss Twister so much! My friend did a spot on Bill Paxton "Finger of God" impression that we all loved, the attraction was so much fun, and especially fun late on HHN nights where they gave up on the video and stuff in the beginning and you just walked right into the attraction and they started it every so often. GREAT time waster and break from walking around. 3) They damn well better put the push button cow someplace! I don't care if they hide it in some frequently untraveled place like by the shut down video order things in Rip Rocket, but it has to be somewhere where you can go and press the button
  21. My totally uninformed, 20 min thought, no research, etc, etc, etc picks. Probably doesn't match the 3 originals being speculated. Whatever. Figure Legacy opens up a bit more each time someone throws out some guesses, so the worst thing that can happen is he jumps in to shoot something down The first thing is my guess followed by (what I want). The unannounced: The return (Parade) ......Jurassic World - really have NO CLUE on this one, but JP in IOA has had a prominent role in past HHNs and the Velociraptor "costumes" are amazing and would be insane in a house. Not gonna happen, but I can't think of anything else off the top of my head. And it would piss off a bunch of people not fitting in with the HHN vibe so it fits some other hints about purists not liking it. (John Carpenter's The Thing - The remake sucked as a movie so doing it properly would be amazing) The unannounced: The expected.........Krampus (Krampus) The unannounced: The returning.......The Walking Dead (Cabin in the Woods - Wishful thinking on my part since I missed it) The unannounced: The requeling.......Nightengales (HELLGATE PRISON!!!!!) The unannounced: Claustrophic jewel (Tent 1).......Some PG-13 supernatural teen horror crap (Some kind of Pyramid-based house) The unknown.....Poltergeist - it's not really been speculated and had the remake last year, so why not? (Ash vs Evil Dead or Killer Klowns - I know Ash has been shot down and KKFOS is not really "unknown" because it's been speculated so much, but they HAVE to make an appearance on my list and this wildcard allows me to put them there) Shall not be named....Candyman. It's been rumored and I THINK you summons him like Bloody Mary by saying his name into a mirror, so why not? (Bloody Mary! Maybe they cleared up the rights issues and can get her back.) Then, my big guess that I'm not sure where it fits in to...the new Japanese movie The Grudge vs The Ring. It would fit a lot of specs about returning (I assume), the unknown, not being speculated about, the pissing off people since it's coming out in a Japanese version and not an Americanized version yet, etc, etc, etc. Don't feel the need to ridicule my thoughts as I already know how dumb they/(most of them) are.
  22. Maybe next year's Requel will be Halloween... For many years Dimension Films has been trying to get another "Halloween" film off the ground but ultimately in all that messing about, they lost the rights to the iconic horror series. Now, in an unexpected announcement at an event in Los Angeles tonight, "Insidious" and "Sinister" producers Blumhouse Productions revealed that they are teaming with Miramax and Trancas International to co-finance a new "Halloween" sequel. On top of that, director John Carpenter will be on board the film as executive producer - returning to the very franchise he created. Though not officially set to do so, Blum also reportedly made it clear at the announcement that the hope is to see Carpenter also return to score the new film. In typical dry Carpenter fashion, the filmmaker says: "38 years after the original Halloween. I'm going to help to try to make the 10th sequel the scariest of them all." Malek Akkad and Jason Blum will also produce the new film which will immediately go out to filmmakers and is on a fast-track to production with a Halloween 2017 release looking quite likely.
  23. It's a pretty sad state of affairs when Legacy has to do the job of the Universal Marketing Department to get the HHN faithful excited and talking up the event... EDIT - Yes, I know, I often defend the marketing dept for spending their budget in better ways than catering to the people who are already "money in the bank", but the speculation and excitement seemed to be lacking this year and all Legacy had to do was post a list, confirming 9 houses, and giving vauge hints and it stoked everybody's interest. Granted, he used more than 140 characters, but if Marketing had 2 min of spare time they could have made up a list or something similar, done a screen cap of it, and then had everybody frothing at the mouth trying to figure it out....and not just the people here. Just a simple little thing to keep up the "social sentiment" with #HHN26 or whatever marketing buzzword mumbojumbo they wanted to call the demand generation / lead generation that something so simple would cause throughout the social twitterverse. You don't need games and interactive web sites when you can start chain reactions via social media by doing something as simple as this.
  24. The rumored and/or generally accepted and/or Legacy's inside sources list since JDW is purposely staying outside the know. Usually, it's a pretty open list...but this year, the sources are being really tight lipped so we're being held in the dark. Personally, I LOVE it. We found out too early last year. And my stupid unfounded guesses have a lot of room to breathe this year. Hoping JDW is actually able to keep out of the know (though he has a list he's checking off against) this year to enjoy the fun. Dr Jimmy is censoring himself after last year's fiasco of everybody knowing everything before the snow melted up here. All anybody needs to know is Krampus should/will/hopefully be showing up this year!* * DISCLAIMER: I'm making all my info up from upstate NY based on my personal wishes.
