  1. Hey guys. My friend bought an Frequent Fear Pass for opening weekend and was wondering if it would be possible for him to upgrade it to the Frequent Fear Plus pass. He really wants to go tomorrow, but wasn't sure when he bought the ticket if he could go Fridays. I was pretty sure that you could upgrade, especially if it is switching from one Frequent Fear to another. I guess he called Universal, but the guy said something like it was a 1 time, non-refundable purchase. Any insight on this? Should he try going to guest services at the park to see if he can get a different answer?
  2. Oh, I just remembered, both on Friday, the 30th, and last night, the 2nd, one of the leprechauns in HR Bloodengutz always made an effort to go for me. I knew I was forgetting someone! Oh, just remembered another! The Red Death in Poe was the best I've ever seen so far last night. Kudos to him! Again, great job, everyone! I'm just getting more and more impressed with the zones and most of the houses every time I go!
  3. Hey guys, while waiting in line for the Forsaken the other day, it totally dawned on me that one of the songs is Gil's Entertainment from the Bioshock 2 soundtrack. This song also plays in part of the Nightingales, I believe. I am pretty certain I heard part of it near the beginning of the house.
  4. Total nights - 4 Saws n Steam - 4 Bloodengutz - 4 The Thing - 5 Nightingales - 5 Winters Night - 4 Forsaken - 7 In Between - 7 Nevermore - 5 Total House runs: 41
  5. Not sure if you guys heard it yet, but there is a line I heard from where he says to someone in the audience, "Oh, are you one of those Horror Night Junkies? Someone who goes home and blogs or posts on forums about how the show isn't as good as last year's? Well, I wasn't in last year's show!" I thoroughly enjoyed that line.
  6. Hmmm, I wonder if they got rid of that effect completely. I could've sworn that the pilgrim in HR Bloodengutz was missing his rifle tonight, which also uses the same effect. Anyway, I'm not sure if this was posted already, and I'm sure many of you heard about it, but they gave out some free stuff on Friday night if you followed the clue Universal posted on their twitter. They were giving out a hoodie, as well as the following stuff: http://minus.com/mVIgVO8JU Have to say, I'm really digging actually getting my hands on these cards.
  7. Guys, I was thoroughly impressed with all of the shoutouts I got tonight. I can't thank all of you that gave me a shoutout or an extra special scare enough. It's crazy how much those simple shoutouts every once in awhile really make a night better. I know I'll probably forget someone, but over this past Friday and Sunday, I got some great scares in: The finale of Saws and Steam (not exactly sure who it was, but they knew my name!) and from one of the victims (Scott?). Seven, from way too many actors to count. From Lady Luck's minions scattered in front of Mel's (seriously, I need to know who got me THREE times!) In Grown Evil (Possibly Pumpkin?) and Canyon of Dark Souls, from several actors. In the Forsaken, from a few actors. In Nightingales, from a few actors, one of which I know was Victoria. I know I'm probably forgetting a few actors, and for that I'm sorry, but this was really my best night yet! I will try to modify what I have written about opening weekend so far in my review and make note of all of the major improvements I've seen. Keep up the fantastic work, guys!
  8. Thanks for all of the pictures, guys. I know it's hard to take good ones in some of the zones this year, but these are all pretty fantastic!
  9. PM me your login info for the site. I will not do anything with it other than log in and beat the cannon game. Just be sure not to post it in a comment like these messages, or other people can view it.

  10. Why yes, it is quite possible to beat the loose cannon game! I'll gladly do it for you guys, if you'd like me to.

  11. This house is most definitely the best Jaws house I've ever been in. Friday the 13th is right behind it with second place, but I loved so much about this house.
  12. Great review, man! Have to keep out those spoilers for the late arrivals! I see that we had about the same luck last night. The rain just made it really difficult! One thing that you mentioned that I really think needs to be addressed is the downtime between the 3D animations in Acid Assault. I understand that the time it takes to walk through a zone is probably only 30 seconds or so, but they just repeat constantly! I couldn't tell if they changed this for tonight's event, but it was definitely something I noticed last night.
  13. If you are referring to when the multiplayer games end, I think it is at 6am. That is according to another post I saw, though. In terms of when the games themselves end, I am not sure. I'd hope that they wouldn't make the games the only way to gain access to the backstories. It just alienates way too many people who simply do not have the time, patience, or computer good enough to unlock all of the tokens. Also, many people seem to be running into an issue where they can't even find an opponent in the multiplayer games! I said this in chat last night, but now I am seriously considering it. This weekend, I will possibly make a new account with a throwaway email, beat all of the games (hopefully), and then just post the username and password here for everyone to use. I understand that the concept of beating the games to access the backstories serves as a reward system for spending time on the site, but I seriously hope that it isn't going to be the only way for people to gain access to the information. In the meantime, at least there are people like Mr. Fearman who post the ripped components from the games/site. This at least allows you to get the information in some way.
  14. These pages are revealed for each house once you beat the multiplayer versions of the games. I believe they start at 6pm everyday. Once you win the game, a blinking circle with the color for that house will appear on "The House" page. Clicking it will reveal the backstory for that house. Also, if you finish all 8 tokens (multiplayer and single player games), Lady Luck's page will appear on "The House" page.
  15. I'm also under the impression that there may be some sort of influence from Bioshock or similar motifs in this house. Having that sort of dystopian vibe with a steampunk twist just seems really similar to the style of Bioshock. Also, I am Weighting put it pretty well. There are some houses that do seem to pull directly from movies and stories that Universal can't explicitly (or does not wish to) mention. Sure, it might be speculation, but those statues in Winter's Night sure do look a lot like the weeping angels, and The Forsaken is similar to The Fog in a few ways. Another example would be interstellar terror and Dead Space. I believe both of them pull from an even older storyline with an artifact and space-crew-insanity, but there's just always the chance that someone on the design team took influence from a game or a movie that they enjoy.
  16. Awesome, just beat the two new games on my first try! So now we just have one card left. I wonder when they'll add it, and if there will be anything major that follows getting all of the chips.
  17. That's exactly what I thought! Hopefully it's not just lit like that for the picture or with the house lights on (It kind of looks similar to the orange lighting seen in some houses in the UTH tour). I'd hate for it to be too dark in there, causing the cool lighting to be lost.
  18. By all means, go as crazy as you'd like in attempts to scare me!
  19. I was walking around campus today (University of Florida) between classes and saw one of the campus buses drive by with an HHN advertisement on the side. This is the first time I've ever seen that here. I was able to snap 2 pictures before it drove off.
  20. Those random math and physics equations under the Nightmaze title are quite funny. It's like, "look, math that the general population doesn't immediately understand! Isn't that crazy and spooky and make you think of a shifting maze!?"
  21. Hopefully it's not just a repeat of the costumes/make-up from containment. Oh man, that guy has boils! Horrific!
  22. After C_D mentioning that the cast for this house is really awesome, I can't help but feel a bit optimistic for it. I loved Saws N' Steam as a concept, and I think it worked pretty well as a zone last year. Here's hoping that the house delivers!
  23. According to the voting thread, this scarezone seems like it is highly anticipated. Like others, however, I fear that it may be too bland. It should be fairly easy to figure out how many variations there are if construction is finalized in the zone. My guess would be something like 6-8 variations, assuming that they add in a few more props that could possibly slide around. Let's just hope that they aren't simply hooded figures!
  24. Right now, this is definitely my most anticipated house. I know it's risky to base it all on one photo from one scene, but I can't help but feel that this house will probably be impressive.
