  1. Anyone seen the trailer of Halloween Kills? Lots of references to H3, and Universal is distributing the movie. I think this rumor is starting to get more interesting to cause Insiders usually gets information when someone has access to some particular house aspects like sketches, layouts, props, costumes to name many as I could for instance. Even masks can be iconic enough to establish officially as an IP.

The masks from Halloween 3 are recognizable if y’all know what they’re from, but I think this trailer proves they don’t specifically fave to be for it, and I’m still thinking that they would include Michael Myers in a H3 house. There’s no doubt they would put him in at all.

True or not, the rumor is starting to make more sense now than before.

  2. Maybe if the Seek & Destroy scarezone is the Purge, I’d be cool with that; just not as a house cause I don’t think that made much sense. The reason why we had it in 25 was because the rights of Scream are a horrible mess to Universal, and they needed something to retheme at last minute that was already built before the event started.

Other than the Purge and Metallica (and thrash metal in general), I also wanna point out the possibility of Havoc coming back as a scarezone. The term “Seek & Destroy” was coined during the Vietnam War to refer it as a military strategy. The idea was to place ground forces into a certain part of a rivaled area to search out an enemy, destroy and kill, and lastly leave the area out - It was a very notorious element back then.

Apparently, it’s seems like they’re going on a Sweet 16 approach with the icons. Four spots are empty which are obviously for the Caretaker, the Director, the Storyteller, and the Usher. Though Bloody Mary was omitted for copyright reasons, but they didn’t add two more for Lady Luck and Chance. Both of them made it officially as icons in 2011 and 2016 respectively, and they’re supposed to be on the list of the “big seven” while Fear is the mightiest of all things HHN. There should be more commercials coming.

Eddie and Terra Queen are rumored to come back with their own scarezones, and Cindy could go either way/both with Icons Captured if there’s one room from Screamhouse and/or the Carey, Ohio house if there’s one room from the Orfanage.

  4. Another method that might be possible is they could announce one house per week and stop for awhile until all the other attractions are revealed a few weeks before the event kicks in. It all depends how well the tickets are selling and how slow they could go. I guess, they weren’t ready to reveal another one yet cause the coronavirus pandemic is still going on even though there are now less cases recently. But I think Universal wanted to see if things are gonna get better later, which is what we’re all hoping for.

  5. If we ever get another overall film-related theme like in 09, then it would make a lot of sense to bring back the Director and the Usher as a duo other than icons, since Universal always wants IP’s to come first to draw crowds for the event while the original material comes later. I never understood why those characters aren’t considered to be marketable as Jack when movies, tv shows, and pop culture in general are a handful of things the masses think of when they think of the Universal parks- it doesn’t sound right at all.

A new leak is now out there! This sounds and looks believable enough. Even though I’d rather have Fear back as an icon this year for the 30th anniversary, but Jack is way too damn popular and marketable to be ignore. But hey, at least that sums up about the Carnage show coming back again like it’s rumored.

  7. After reading the articles about the Friday the 13th lawsuits, I’ll thrown in my thoughts on this. Sean Cunningham is desperately on a need to win and own something. The guy will turn eighty at the very tail-end of this year, and does he really wanna spend his entire life in a legal battle? If he gets it, then what does he plan on doing? All I see is another argument over money and ownership.

  8. Why are the rights of Friday of the 13th a mess right now? It’s one of those horror IP’s owned by Warner Bros (New Line Cinema is part of the company’s film division) along with Nightmare On Elm Street, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Exorcist, and The Shining. Universal does have a good relationship with WB in theme parks, especially with Harry Potter.

  9. I’m thinking the next HHN-related announcement will be another IP house. Been watching the newest Universal Hollywood construction video from a channel called TLEV Media. The cat is out of the bag, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre is coming back to both of the Studios parks. There’s a sign that says “Soda pop” and below it says “we slaughter barbecue.” That’s the name of the gas station.

In the movie, it had a Coca-Cola logo but it was switched to avoid copyright infringement. In the meantime, I’ll patiently wait for the official announcement. It’ll take a few days or a week to pop up.

  10. A Metallica house was rumored for HHN at Hollywood. I’m starting to picture Seek & Destroy as an original concept inspired by the Thrash Metal scenes in Bay Area and New York City. There are a good chunk of bands that would make awesome references other than Metallica. Anthrax, Megadeth, Slayer, Overkill, Exodus, Testament, I could go on mentioning more cause it’s probably my most favorite sub-genre in metal. I wanna see some thrashers to start a havoc with rebellion as their way to scare the guests.

  11. Some thoughts on the updated speculation map.

I’m looking forward to see Jack’s Carnage show come back if the rumor is true, since up to two shows are acceptable enough for a Halloween event at a theme park imo. But if we’re getting an icon this year, I want it to be Fear again, since we’re getting an anniversary house with Icons Captured that is also rumored. I’ve been hearing it’s been already built last year before HHN was postponed for obvious reasons, and the facade of the house is his lantern.

Two of the scarezones sounds like music based themes related to Iron Maiden, Metallica and maybe metal in general, but I’m expecting a more original concept and some love for one of the scrapped icons.

As some you guys know, Howl-O-Scream is coming to Seaworld at Orlando, which is more closer to Universal than Busch Gardens Tampa Bay to expand the brand, and it got me wondering how it’ll impact HHN. There’s no doubt it’s a big win for Outsiders to have a longer trip on September and October, but Uni could lose a certain amount of guests from Seaworld unless they do any last-minute specials. Then again, they might not have to make any adjustments for HHN, since HOS is new in Orlando area.
