As for the houses I had walked through on opening night, these are my top list from top to bottom.

I think it would work more as an anthology series, some fairy tales and stories could work for one episode each like the Twilight Zone, and some could work for one season like AHS.

Anyone noticed the recent Roman Numeral scars on Fear’s body? If you look at him more clearly while walking more slowly through this house, you’ll see darker red ones as not only the newest additions to his appearance but also as a reference to HHN 21 to this year. At this rate, the Orlando’s creative team are probably gonna give that character a redesign before bringing him back in the next five or ten years.

I’ve had some thoughts that Chance would represent corruption before they confirmed her as Madness cause of the Harley and Joker-like captivation between her and Jack, and the way she was influenced by him and his maniacs.

This show is very abstract, and it feels like everything is blended together. Yeah, the segments are different but they’re confusing at times. The Hill House segments is the hardest part to remember cause most of the show typically has the same color tone, making it more gray-ish and darker.
It kinda made me feel like I was watching a Rob Zombie music video. The icons are represented in a clear way, but all the rest made it so abstract. Jack is awesome, but overexposed and Chance only pops up once or twice. TCM pops up in an abstract way, but needed better scenes from the 1974 classic.

The part with that involves the guys on all fours with leashes on and some dominating gal maneuvers made me laugh and raised my eyebrows up - I have never expected this show to be that racy and kinky.
Though it’s simple, but I do appreciate the performers for being fast, on time, and spot on without wasting any time.

If there’s one thing they got it right with this zone the most is the addition of fire in order to make ya hype for the event. With the expectation of Bone, I’m not very impressed with the finalized character roster. Sure you got a couple of go-go dancers and stilts scareactors like you always expect at HHN (and other Halloween events), but it sucks there are no icons, no Universal Monsters, and even no Leatherface over there for guests to take pictures with those characters.

As great the set pieces are in that zone, it’s more of a photo-op spot than an actual scarezone. I felt it made no sense why they creep up as far on the walkway to make it as a bottleneck for the area when there’s a quite enough space to push some of the props back towards the exit of Fast & Furious.

Done some editing on my dream house with a two alternate ending experiences that guests could walkthrough either on the left side or the right.

Digging the feel of this scarezone, and I was also able to take a picture of the Terra Queen. If anyone played as her on opening night and is also a member of this site, thank you for bringing the experience to me. I think this would have been more cooler if they added chaser lights in some things around them to simulate blood/sap. I love the creatures and the scareactors are having a good time, but if they could stand to one or two more characters on the zone that can scare ya towards the cavern booholes, then it would make it more effective.

Even though the costumes were my biggest disappointment cause of how fairly bland they are, but it’s a good zone. The sets are still awesome and you get a lot interaction from scareactors. It’s feels like a fun area where you could play a game of stealth to escape an Orwellian/dystopian world.

You get more than enough scareactors there, and they put a lot good energy to scare and/or interact the guests. This is the zone that you could argue it’s the “real” Anniversary zone compared to 30 Years 30 Fears cause you get more favorites from the past. My Scarezone of the Year!

Another house that easily reached my expectations in every way! The facade was really good and chilling, awesome scenic design, and was very impressed with the moments spread all throughout the house that truly felt like a Universal Monsters flick from a certain era. Give this house a movie adaptation!

Got a question for y’all: Since Lady Luck and Chance have their own totems in the facade of Icons, what do they now represent as the Heralds of Fear? We all know Jack is Chaos, the Caretaker is Death, the Director is Sacrifice, the Storyteller is Legends, and the Usher Is Vengeance. For Lady Luck, she’s easily about fate. Chance on the other hand is more difficult to think of another term for her to have of her own individually cause she probably shares with Jack to represent Chaos. Maybe she is Prospect?

Just like what I expected from other traditional-themed haunted houses in HHN, this one works remarkably well, especially the oozes atmosphere that captures the tone of the show very well. It also have the best facade of the year!

The facade is even more awesome in person to walkthrough, especially how very well-detailed it is. I just love how darkly weird it is with a bit of humor. It’s like a crossover of Knott’s Pinocchio Unstrung and Black Magic. The costumes and sets are mind-blowing; the triggers are unique and somewhat innovative; and felt campy in a good way.

All I could say is this: Holy hairy monkey balls! This is the best one I had walk through that beaten my expectations in a really good way, making it as my House of the Year!
The time takes place between is very fitting to the event’s 30th anniversary theme other than the noir and pulp feel on October 25th to Halloween on 1991, - the dates of Universal Orlando’s first HHN that was formally known as Fright Nights.
There’s still a lot in this house to put the piece together, but it’s a good thing it constantly seems to have the shortest waits while the most crowd-friendly houses are usually the longest, so it doesn’t take too long at all, and you’re more likely to go there more than once during one of the most busiest nights of the event.
Not only the tone is one-of-a-kind, but also have so much variety and well-designed sets and characters. Lots of creative stuff over there with a Slaughter Sinema-like campiness.

Tooth Fairy has a really good sound design. That house is driven by it and the lighting to make it feel like you’re going through a storybook, and the storytelling aspects of the house are very creative as it’s story was a hundred percent clear. The only downside about it is can be repetitive in ways, but it’s still a pretty good and fun house. Now, I’m waiting for the next Scary Tales spin off to be my dream house, which is a discussion for another thread.

Screamhouse and Sliver Screams are understandably the only ones that came back with it own scenes in Icons. I really wish this house had one scene from Zombiegeddon.

For a house based off a non-horror flick that tends to be more family-friendly than adult oriented compared to most of the IP’s in HHN, I pleasantly had a fun experience despite the lack of actual scares, and I’m also very leaned into the humor cause it fits the event in my opinion, especially the palate cleanser.
If only we could really interact with Beetlejuice at the very the end of the house like guests could daily in the park.

While they did a really good job at capturing the aesthetic settings and tone of the original TCM, but it’s interestingly doesn’t set the story of the film in any way compared to Hollywood’s, setting it between the first and second as a bridge. I got one really good scare from one of the Leatherfaces who danced around with his chainsaw like at the end of the original, which made me applaud by extending one of my arms up with a fist while saying “Yeeeeeeah!!,” even his other brother Chop Top is in the house.

The Slaughter Sinema callback was a really nice touch of the house, and I’m glad they brought back the popcorn scent - it smelled so good and fresh!
Speaking of movie theaters, I got the Usher as the “winner” in my experience of this house. Kinda was a bit disappointed Fear only shows once in the house at the beginning. I get it he’s too big to be in the throne room, but if they could squeeze in at least one extra room for him in the house, then it be long enough for me to enjoy more.
The best part of the house were the dead victims wearing HHN shirts from previous years to make it look like if not all of the guests made it out alive. Who ever thought of that idea is a genius!

This one has a little bit of everything that still makes me look forward for an HHN experience! The Wicked Growth isn’t your typical traditional-themed Halloween House. It’s also a Carey house other than (S)Carey cause of the Sam Meetz and Caine Cemetery references plus at the beginning, a reporter says “Another body has been found on the outskirts of town, a victim of a ritualistic killing spree here in Carey.”
My only problem with this was the running pace set through the house.

This will sadly be the last HHN show in the Fear Factor stage before event ends; it’s most likely gonna get replaced by the Harry Potter overkill.
