No, I was applying for a technical position (Makeup Artist), and because of the way they build the teams, we don't find out who they've picked for two weeks after my interview. I'm very bummed out about it, but it won't stop me from applying again next year!!

Well, I finally got my notification - looks like I won't be joining you all this year. I wish I knew why. Scare the pants off of them for me!!

I just had an interesting thought from left field while staring at the lantern. It ALMOST looks like the X panels are hinged, and the two don't completely meet at the middle near the top. We couldn't see this before. What if they're a door? And the lantern not only lights the way, but is the way? Or lets the characters of the past out from its depths, as we're seeing 'flame ghosts' of past icons inside? Just something to chew on...

Oh, eek... orientation already? Gosh. I won't find out for another week if I'm even hired or not. Ugh, I am not good at waiting on news like this! I hope you have a great time, Hush!!!

Congrats to those who were cast today, and condolences to those who weren't! I showed up for my makeup artist interview about 5:15, and the line was actually more insane than I thought it was going to be. The interview only took about 15 minutes, which had me a bit concerned, but with as many people as they have to see, maybe I shouldn't be worried! I won't know for 2 weeks if I'm in or not, though. Eeeeep! I hate waiting.

Break a leg, everyone!! I'm sure I'll be both slightly horrified and delighted as I walk past y'all into the lobby for my appointment later on this afternoon! Don't hesitate to say Hi if you see me - I'll be there about 5:15ish - red hair, black top, jean capris. I can't wait to meet all you lovely people!!! I hope to be a part of the family by the time I report back!

Kim- That's what I'm really hoping for. The Halloween Kids (which I'm sure many of us would consider ourselves to be!) take care of their Family! I'm sure if I'm hired up (and I'm quite confident), I'll be able to find lovely people in abundance. Hush - Good luck to you as well!!! We might be passing each other in the lobby somewhere! I'm a wee nervous, but I know I've got it, and I can nail it.

Mr Bungle - Yeah, I've been looking into some things, and I think I'm going to have to drive back & forth, or throw some blankets in the back of my car. I definitely can't afford to get my own hotel room, or an extended stay room, but I'm still looking for a sublet somewhere close. Good to know they have showers - I hope they're not only for actors, though! I'm still hoping to meet some cool people at my interview or maybe during the rehearsals to stay with. Black Void - Oh, I know. I know. I'm willing to do it, but putting all that wear on my car wouldn't be my first choice. I'll figure out something. I'm not really in Tampa proper - it takes me at least two hours to get to Universal with the best of traffic situations. But I'll find a way, because I want this job more than I want my sanity. It's so rare that I get to have this much fun with latex, paint and powder, and lovely drippy blood! I've been trying to get in there for an interview for years - I always seemed to miss the cutoff dates by a few days. I am SO JAZZED that I've gotten this far. I'm looking forward to playing with you all and contributing to the transformation!

Just wanted to update y'all - I got ahold of my contact and have an interview scheduled for next Tuesday @ 5:30! Now I have to think about housing for two months, as I really want this job, but I don't want to drive back & forth from Tampa every night.

No, this was definitely a woman. She said her name was Kim. I've made a few more calls - I'll track her down somehow. LOL I will be there at the tech audition one way or another!

Congrats to all those that have been hired! I'm having a mini-panic moment - I was called today about auditioning, and Kim left her number on my voice mail, but I can't make out the last four digits! I've played it over and over! If anyone has her direct line, can they please PM me? I would love you forever and ever and ever!

So, I have a question about auditioning, but not as an actor... if that makes sense. I'm a makeup artist, and I think I just might kill or at the very least maim to work the event. I filled out my application and sent it in last week, but I haven't heard anything yet. Does anyone know what their turnaround time is for technical positions? The audition date is the 13th for 'my people' so to speak, and I'm getting a wee concerned. Yes, there's a secondary date on the 20th, but if at all possible, I'd like to get in on the first date - I know they fill their technical spots quickly. So, condensed - does anyone know approximately when I can expect someone to contact me?
