  1. Not for AU 2008, but I’m thinking of doing a version of the Titans of Terror house they had in 2017 but much differently and involving Psycho. However the version I’m thinking of is too similar to the NOES house I just wrote.
  2. A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET HOME SWEET HELL TREATMENT Facade At the end of the queue line, you see in front of you the famous 1428 Elm Street House from the NIGHTMARE series. It’s recreated identically to the one shown in NIGHTMARES 3-5; dilapidated, run-down with boards covering the windows, and a blue-ish paranormal glow emanating from the slits. The giggles of children mingle with the screams of FREDDY’S victims. FREDDY speaks “You can check in, but you can’t check out.” and with that you and your group are led into the house from hell. Foyer Passing through the door, you push through a narrow hallway barely decorated. Then you pass and find yourself in the exact same hallway again, but with the sound of FREDDY scraping the walls with his finger knife glove piercing your ears from all directions. Then you pass through the same hallway again for the third time, but this time FREDDY KRUEGER finally reveals himself behind a scrim wall effect. Finally exiting that damned hallway, that’s when things get slightly trippy. The whole foyer is bigger than it’s supposed to be, making you feel like you’ve shrunk in size. The sound of wheels ring from above, and as you pass the stairway, a “gigantic” bicycle almost crashed into you! (Listen closely and you hear the sound of goo as it falls down the stairs, a audio reference to the goo stairs from the first NIGHTMARE.) Living Room The living room is only illuminated by the television set, playing the Evil Dead. This is used for either one of the two scares described: SCENE A- FREDDY pops out from behind the couch to slash at you. SCENE B- The couch itself lunges at you with a roar. Kitchen Technically it’s in normal size, but with the space of it it’s more like a restaurant kitchen. The cabinets are filled with vials of embalming fluids and blood samples, the pans and pots searing and boiling with severed human body parts; raw human meat laying on a rack. A severed head is seen turning inside a microwave. The oven springs open to reveal a WARPED GINGERBREAD MAN bursting at you with the smoke. At the end, DEBBIE THE ROACH GIRL from the fourth NIGHTMARE cries for help. (The Pizza of Souls is seen as an Easter Egg) Dinner Room Here, FREDDY KRUEGER and his party guests happily feast on the cannibalistic delights. FREDDY digs his claw into GRETA’S stomach and force feeds GRETA her own innards. You disturbed by the horrifying scene leaving you unaware of the GIANT DEMONIC HOG puppet that roars at you on your left. Bedroom Once again, you find that the dimensions have shifted. The bedroom is seemingly giant sized, decorated with an antique mirror, toys on the floor, and of course the mattress itself. As you walk through, a baby stroller glides through as if pushed by an invisible being. The stroller looks a lot more darker and spiky than any normal stroller; it is in fact the same demon baby carriage from the fifth NIGHTMARE. FREDDY’S claw swipes from the stroller (either a hidden actor or a mechanical puppet). The following scene is either: SCENE A- You go underneath the bed itself, the corridor stimulating the dirty and grimy underneath, with giant bags of garbage laying. HUMAN-FACED DOGS AND GIANT DEMONIC RATS from the second NIGHTMARE movie charge at you from the darkness. SCENE B- The bed is broken, it’s hinges cracked, the mattress on the floor. This gives you chance to slide under the covers. There you push yourselves through corridors of sheets illuminated by moonlight blue. The LOST SOULS claimed by FREDDY push through the walls begging for help in muffled cries. At the end, FREDDY’S claw slashes through a sheet wall, creating a red glow. Bathroom and Shower Room Escaping from the bedroom, the bathroom is surprisingly well-lit and clean, though sparsely decorated. The water in the faucet is running hot, with mist in the air as a result. The lights start to flicker, and FREDDY’S razor knife glove slashes through the mirror, creating sparks as it does so. Then, you come across the shower door where someone is bathing. The sheets are pulled down to reveal SHOWER FREDDY, a full frontal long haired version of the nightmare demon. He gives the line “How’s this for a wet dream?!” Attic After a short transition hallway with screens projecting stairs going in all directions (like the scene in WDW’s Haunted Mansion), again the dimensions are all whack. The attic, which is filled with antique items and ELM STREET memorabilia, by itself isn’t abnormal, but there are several oversized children’s toys strung about. A nursery rhyme can be heard, along with a music box tune, but they seem to be broken. Suddenly you are ambushed by the NIGHTMARE MINIONS, some lunging from the air via bungee. Along with a hanged man. Basement Another transition hallway with the bizarre staircases leads you into the basement of the house- or more accurately the boiler room. Giant pipes and other machinery hiss smoke and fire, the lighting of the scene bathed in red and orange. Trinkets from FREDDY’S victims hang in various places. Speaking of victims, CHARRED VICTIMS burned to the core charge at you from hidden alcoves, some in a deranged state, others pleading. However FREDDY himself pops out and takes one victim with him back into the furnace (this may be used for a elaborate kill scene). Garden Going out the basement door, you enter the garden. The dimensions make this more like a giant conservatory. Mirrors help give the illusion of this garden being wider in depth, along with dimly lit matte paintings. The garden is full of plants and other greenery, but some not only look huge but some seem… off. Animatronics and puppets conveying GIANT VENUS FLYTRAPS, HARLEQUIN-HEAD FLOWERS are used to great effect, and there are a few VICTIMS stumbling about with cuts on their faces and eyeballs missing, and the walls decorated with bloody thorns. The setting morphs into a dark jungle-like setting, the hissing and growling of wild animals permeating your ears, the pathway dark and hard to see. At the end, another puppet conveying SNAKE FREDDY from the third NIGHTMARE film (with green goo and all) either bites at you or is eating a girl whole. Garage Finally, you make it into the garage, which while dimly lit seems normal. However you are led into a hallway of boarded up walls, where in the holes fully-sized cars honk and almost crash through from nowhere from in different angles from above. The room morphs again into something akin to an abandoned junkyard. SKELETON FREDDY jumps out from the ground itself to swipe at you and at an unfortunate VICTIM. The impaled body of NANCY’S FATHER is on display. A giant version of FREDDY KRUEGER bursts from a mist projection of the moon for one last scare.
  3. INTRO The festivities begin with a brief slideshow of images of past HORROR NIGHTS events, set to the lively tune of Neil Sedaka’s “Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen”. As the slideshow progresses however, we begin to hear strange laughter and macabre sounds, at first faint but soon grows louder though never overriding the song. As the slideshow ends, a cavalcade of pyrotechnics bursts through the water. Upon the water screens, we hear voices singing “Happy Birthday Halloween Horror Nights” and soon revealed are JACK THE CLOWN, THE CARETAKER, THE DIRECTOR, and THE STORYTELLER, the four ICONS of SWEET 16. As their singing ends, one of the ICONS cut the birthday cake they held, and blood gushed out of the cake as JACK and THE CARETAKER laugh. BIRTHDAY CAKE On the lagoon, a giant BIRTHDAY CAKE decorated with skeletons rises from the waters, layer by layer. When it dries off, that’s when the fun begins. Fireworks shoot out from the CAKE’S candles into the night sky, cascading with a display of fire. UNIVERSAL MONSTERS We proceed with the ones who started it all: DRACULA, THE WOLFMAN, FRANKENSTEIN’S MONSTER AND THE BRIDE, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, and GILL-MAN. Video imagery based on the classics entertains as the foreboding music from that era fills the air. KNIGHTS OF HELL HOMAGE We slowly see on the water screens what appears to be a castle gateway. It is in fact a projection of the facade for the original DUNGEON OF TERROR back in 91’. The screen draws closer into the gateway until blackness. Then the spotlight shines upon the macabre DEMON KNIGHT from the 1995 water show atop the BIRTHDAY CAKE. Floats representing SKULLS, DEMONS, and DEATH glide in the waters as DEMON KNIGHT gives a speech about hell and fire, ending it by dousing most of the lagoon in fire. FRIGHTMARES AND SCREAMS Something appears to be flying in the air. What is it? When the lights shine on the entity in the sky, it reveals the character EYEGORE, the eyeball-eating entity from 1997. The water screens project floating eyeballs which blink at you, and they soon merge into a white void that POPS with a burst of fireworks. The lights shine on to reveal another physical set- the face from PRIMAL SCREAM. The screaming face unleashes smoke from its mouth, and it flows into the water screens to show footage from past HHN houses, zones, and shows up to 98’. S.S. FRIGHTANIC- HAIL IMHOTEP A ghostly cruise ship ROARS out of the lagoon’s depths, causing a massive splash! Jump on board the S.S. FRIGHTANIC! The huge prop has DANCING ZOMBIES as charmingly elegant but dissonant waltz music plays, with sight gags regarding body parts flaying put eyes. Unfortunately, the fun is cut short when a horse of SOLDIER MUMMIES show up on the ship and cut down the DANCING ZOMBIES with their weapons. The FRIGHTANIC then sinks into the water with effects simulating small “explosions”. On water screens, hieroglyphics in gold shimmer in and out until on the BIRTHDAY CAKE the mummified priest IMHOTEP arises and performs an Egyptian incantation. More floats decorated with the taste of Egypt arrive on scene, some with dancers in garb reflecting Egyptian creatures and deities, but some seemingly blank. What are they? Answers are delivered when IMHOTEP descends into the CAKE itself and from the floats arrive giant versions of horror villains- a pre-regenerative IMHOTEP, the knife wielding and decaying eyeless corpse of MOTHER BATES, and the scar-faced CHUCKY. JACK’S PARTYHOUSE The lights dim, and we hear sinister laughter. The sound of POP GOES THE WEASEL plays and after the end of it, JACK THE CLOWN jump scares us with a “Boo!” and cackles. “It’s time to think outside of the box!” JACK says. The lights go off with colorful beams, fountains of water burst with glee, and the BIRTHDAY CAKE emits more fireworks as the water screens portray bizarre imagery revolving around clowns, puppets and the circus. A GOTHIC NIGHT WITH THE CARETAKER THE CARETAKER’S face looms over the lagoon. Morbid funeral organ music plays as THE CARETAKER gives a speech about dissection, death, and the nature of evil. YOU OUGHTA BE IN PICTURES In the water screens, familiar visuals play out- a jester forced to smile via hooks THE DIRECTOR impaled on his cheeks, and a man tied to the bathtub. These are in fact the TV ads broadcast in the air back in 2003. Here however we get to see the grisly aftermath of those “films”- the hooks pull input with such tremendous force that they rip open his face, and a charred electrocuted corpse rises in the bathtub. A KILLER STORY Our final ICON of the evening THE STORYTELLER projects herself on the BIRTHDAY CAKE and opens a book. “Once upon a time…” Huge bursts of fire reveal a gnarled throne of branches of metal and bark, the GOREWOOD THRONE. As the STIRYTELLER narrates, a SACRIFICE VICTIM is led to the altar where the TERRA QUEEN resides. With the Blade, the QUEEN cuts open the human bit by bit, their blood flourishing down into the roots. A projection simulates the blood flowing upward the throne and it’s branches. FINALE
  4. For those crating haunted guest experiences, here’s a guide list of effects and gags you can use to spice things up for your own nightmares! 3-D: Boo Holes: Bungee: A scareactor at a harness would fly at guests from above. Originated in Castle Vampyr. Catwalk: An effect used in Dead Silence, Interstellar Terror, and Gothic. An illusion using a model to give guests the impression that they’re far too many floors up than they really are. Crushing Wall: According to this it originated at the very first year. Basically faux walls creating the illusions of being crushed, not painful though. Distraction based Scare: Self-Explanatory. Ex: Screamhouse featured a moving coffin gag. Drop Floor: The ending of Twister. Electric Chair: Or a simulation of it. Originated in Hellgate Prison, andReflections of Fear featured it as a drum beat. Environmental-Blend Scare: A scareactor would blend in with their environment—gillie suits, UV pattern rooms, etc. E-Prompt: A sewing machine pedal configured to activate a sound and/or light queue that actors trigger to emphasize the intensity of the scare. Fire: Self-explanatory. Orfanage had it, Jungle of Doom had flame cannons. Floor Trick: An scareactor would hide under the floor (actually glass) lying down on a dolly and move themselves up and down. Used in 2010’s LT house. GAT: Guest Activated Triggers. Press a button and something will happen. Ex: 2010’s Paychoscareapy had Jack appear in a straitjacket if button was pressed. Loop Traps: Don’t know when it actually happened at HHN, but going by this it did happen. You enter a (typically rectangular) room with a wall in the center. That room has an entrance and an exit. When you enter, scareactors either close both doors or stand in the way, forcing you to walk in a circle (trapped in a loop) until they open the exit and you can get out. Build them out of chainlink (or mirrors) and add a strobe and things get insane really quickly. Mirror Maze: A maze where the walls are filled with mirrors making guests unsure where they’re supposed to go. Mirror Trick: A scareactor would appear to approach a guest, but it is actually a trick of the mirror and the scareactor lunges from the opposite side. Room Expansion: When a room appears to be bigger than it actually is. Used in walls, though the In-Between applied to floor and ceiling via mirror. Rotating Room: A group would enter a room (of doors, actually) and the door would shut behind them. The walls of the room would then begin to spin around them, the idea being that it would "mix" which door you would go through. The room would stop spinning, and you would continue on. Ping-Pong Scare: Guests would be “attacked” by multiple scsreactors in a rapid sequence. Projections: Think Acid Assault. 2008 and 2009 featured projections around the park revolving the characters of Bloody Mary and the Usher. Puppets/Animatronics: See the AWIL/La Llorona houses. Scrim Wall: A seemingly barren wall would flash revealing a hidden Scareactor behind it. SIF: Term for Stuff in Face which is self explanatory. Examples include “floating heads” in the Hallow and one of the UCM houses. Spinning Tunnel: A special effect where guests would walk on a ramp and the room would spin creating a disorientating effect. Stiltwalker: Extremely tall character achieved by putting a scareactor on stilts. Think Fear and the Sentinels. Strobes: Flashing lights. Team Scare: multiple scsreactors ambush guests simultaneously. Tilted Floor: As it says. I think it was used in Forsaken. Water/Air Spray: A jet of water or air giving the illusion of bodily fluids or something like a gunshot.
  5. Here’s my idea for an house based on characters on Horror Nights. Predominately ICONS, but also featuring scenes based on rather ICONIC characters on the past. Here’s a few things to start though: 1. I’m out of the loop on Horror nights for a while, so I don’t really get how things work behind the scenes, so I imagine this wouldn’t be a very good maze. 2. I’m not giving bullocks about being realistic. 3. This isn’t so much imaginative as it is ripping off scenes from other houses. Let’s go ICONIC HORROR Queue would be like the opening scene of Hallow’d Past, where you come across shelves featuring props of HHN. Unlike that house though, these shelves would be numbered in specific years with Roman Numerals. There would also be little TVs that display video content like the Port of Evil Caretaker segment. The facade would be a recreation of the key Art for 2007’s Carnival of Carnage. FIRST SEGMENT- UNIVERSAL CLASSIC MONSTERS The Opening scene of 2004’s Horror in Wax. You walk through a hallway where statues of the Classic Monsters lie hanging. Not all of them are statues though… Each night, there would be a different monster who’s “not really a statue” to surprise returning guests. The atmosphere is quiet with no soundtrack. After that you trespass on a very short hallway where Beetlejuice pops out. SECOND SEGMENT- THE CRYPTKEEPER Something something Cryptkeeper. THIRD SEGMENT- MISCELLANIOUS This would split into two paths. The first you simply walk though a room where the Eyegore demon from the 1997 ads flys from above via Bungees. A giant floating eyeball also pops out (puppet) from a wall. The second path is taken from Insanity (?). You and other guests are locked in a holding room where all of a sudden you fools see a pair of bird like eyes and claws gleaming in the light. Then it’s pitch black and you feel something scraping you in the foot. Then you are let go. (This is a homage to the Journey to Fear key art). Both sides you end by walking into a giant screaming heads mouth (Primal Scream). (I’m debating including a Mummy segment as 1999 did feature a Mummy in the key art however the house that year was based on the 1999 film. So for now I’ll leave it undecided.) FOURTH SEGMENT- JACK THE CLOWN You enter into an old House of Horrors exhibit from an old carnival. The walls are faded and the fabric hangs and the atmosphere is eerily quiet (minus screams from the guests behind the walls after all). Littering the rooms are giant children’s toys and playing blocks. After a few moments of stillness, a familiar tune rings. The “Pop Goes the Weasel” sound (specifically from 2015) sounds off quietly at first, then grows louder at each verse. When it ends, first there is silence then at the end of the room, the Giant Jack in the Box pops open and out springs the body of Jack Schmidt! At the next room, it’s similar to the rooms previous but with the bodies of the BBC Crew, Doctor Oddfellow, and the victim of 2007’s commercial lying on the floor. All of a sudden they all spring up and pounce on you, only stopped by an invisible wall (this is a super advanced Scrim Wall (?) except it’s always visible). FIFTH SEGMENT- EDDIE In contrast to the disturbing quietness of Jack’s segment, you trespass upon Eddie’s turf which is blasted Rob Zombie’s music and flashing lights and horns. You enter a room filled with chain link and a wall in the center. You try to make your way through but Eddie suddenly appears in the exit and rums his chainsaw. You then try to go the other way but then Jack (somehow) appears at that end and they force you to go into a circle. Suddenly baseball bats start firing at the walls and the room rotates. Then Eddie let’s you go. Again it’s a two path thing. The second path is another chainlink piece but with a ball pit. Both sides end in a path where you walk through a series of dark cavern like structures transitioning into… SIXTH SEGMENT- PAGING DR. CAINE Once again you learn calm. The next room is a near identical recreation of the set from the 2002 commercials. A cart with surgical equipment and a bowl of water, a sink, morgue beds with bodies laying in covers, and glass jars underneath. The lighting is well-lit so that you can appreciate all the details. Suddenly the bodies suddenly spring up out of nowhere and the laugh of the Caretaker sings. Exiting, you come across a foggy netherworld where a child’s voice utters words like “Won’t you come out and play?”. A giant hologram of Cindy Caine’s face apparates at the end, with porcelain skin, before her flesh melts and her eyes glow flames. Out of now where, Carnage, DinoMen, Knightmare, and the Treaks and Foons chase you out. SEVENTH SEGMENT- CUT! Something something Director. Would probably involve his victims- the jester with hooks in his face, the bathtub man, someone guillotined, etc. This would be a very large room; not a hallway. (I was thinking of putting an Ice Queen and Fire King segment but I don’t think they’re ICONIC.) EIGHTH SEGMENT- LUNACY LUNACY Yet another holding cell, it’s all white and very bright and suddenly the walls crack and blood pours from the walls and ceilings. You are let go. NINTH SEGMENT- THE STORYTELLER This completely recreates the set from 2005’s commercial- not the same thing as Where Evil Hides nor the scene from Icons Captured. The Storyteller would pull a scissor and cut an rope. The anvil would then fall on the victim on the bed of nails, spraying blood an you as the body convulses. This may be a distraction for a giant killer cat puppet to pounce. TENTH SEGMENT- TERRA CRUENTUS You walk into a treasure room depicting the relics of Terra Cruentus- The Terra Blade, Hollow Chime, Gorewood Skull, Blood Vessel, and Iron Bone Gorge Goblet. The design of this room is similar to the Asgardian treasury room from the MCU but with the Terra Symbol. All of a sudden the doors close and you are locked in. The Chime suddenly glows and emits a harmonious sound and other relics follow suit. You are ambushed by the Terra Ghouls, Knucklegrunts, and the Gnomerats. MINI SEGMENT In a short carnival hallway, Freddy’s slash marks would scrape the walls, Jason’s theme (“Kill”) would blare, and Leatherface would slide a door and charge from behind. ELEVENTH SEGMENT- PAGING DR. AGANA The spinning tunnel is a recreation of the one scene in the “Mirror” segment of 2008’s website. It’s red, rocky, wonderland cards are strung about and you hear Mary’s voice commanding you to speak her name. Exiting, you find yourself disoriented by strobes as antique mirrors line the walls. These mirrors are actually designed to fit the houses and zones from when these characters originated- the Hallow Mirror is framed with branches, the Body Collectors mirror is lined Victorian style. Oh and yeah characters from 2008 pop out from the mirrors. Then you enter a mirror maze because ja. Finally there is another commercial recreation set piece. The room is dusty and old; antiques are everywhere, a fireplace with a wolfs head on top, a portrait of an old lady, and a large vanity mirror is the centerpiece. Suddenly the roof cracks open to reveal a giant Bloody Mary roaring and lunging at guests with a fountain pen. The fireplace also roars with fire. TWELVETH SEGMENT- UNIVERSAL PALACE THEATER Suddenly you’re in an old lobby. It is cracked and snacks and popcorn are loitered on the floor. The Wolfman comes out of nowhere and swipes at you then disappears. After a short lobby transition, you find yourself in a giant theater room where the Usher introduces himself on a big screen. Passing through, you find that you have shrunken down to small size as giant versions of Chucky his dolls attack you in a crusty warehouse. Inside the warehouse, you see a man trying to pull himself from a leg trap (referencing one of the theater victims) as Sculders attack. Finally the Usher’s body drops down from above. THIRTEENTH SEGMENT- FEAR THE FEAR Then you find yourself in a what appears to be an underground cavern filled with roots and what appears to be flames everywhere. A victim lies on an altar begging for help when suddenly Adaru apparates and rips the victims heart with his bare hands and throws it at you. FOURTEENTH SEGMENT- INIQUITUS Something something Iniquitus FIFTEENTH SEGMENT- FINALE This recreates the finale scene from Dungeon of Terror with flashing lights and monsters. The end. (I got lazy during the second half).
  6. My alternate universe version lineup of Halloween Horror Nights: Sweet 16. ICONS Same as the real Sweet 16, Jack the Clown, the Caretaker, Paolo, and Storyteller combine forces. HOUSES Psychoscareapy: Maximum Madness (Soundstage 22) - Same as before. The Mind of the Director (Soundstage 23) - Instead of being a montage of movies, this would focus on the Director’s “films”, old (the bathtub, the jester) and new. Psycho: The Return of Norman Bates (Soundstage in New York) - A proper soundstage is better off for this, as it recreates the Bates Motel as well as the Mansion. Hotel Hell: Property of Caine Society (Earthquake Queue) - If Jack and Storyteller don’t get their houses back, neither will Albert not Paolo. A cursed hotel in New York is under new ownership by the wicked Albert Caine. Mayhem and cannibalism is afoot. Dungeon of Terror: Classical Violence (Unspecified Location) - Don’t put anything in the JAWS Queue, without the extra space nothing will work. This would combine all the best elements of the previous Dungeon of Terrors and base it on revamped versions of Universal Classic Monsters. The Mummy: Secrets of Ancient Egypt (Sprung Tent 2) - Semi-original take on the 1999 classic, not solely focusing on the main villain Imhotep, but a variety of mythological characters like Amut and Sekhmet. Eddie Presents Disorientorium II (Sprung Tent 1) - Assuming Psycho is not the crazy house in this AU, this will have to do. Considering Eddie’s personality, this is noticeably much nastier than the original version in 2004. ZONES Horror Comes Home (Plaza of the Stars and Hollywood) - Same as year but extended to the entrance of USF. None of the zones in Shrek Alley aside from American Gothic seemed compelling and it looked to be an odd place to put a scarezone in so its cut. HorrorYork (New York) - The first ever scarezone from 1994 updated and transplanted in the New York area of USF. I was going to put this in Hollywood, but Horror Comes Home works pretty well as a lead in to the Arrival. Harvest of the Souls (Garden of Allah) - Not broke, no need to fix. Midway of the Bizarre (Amity) - I don’t know why they didn’t bring this back in 06. SHOWS The Arrival (Mel’s Drive In) - Same but provide a better kill for the Director. Bill and Ted - Don’t care. Robosaurus (New York) - With Deadtropolis gone, remove zombie element. Festival of the Dead - If infeasible as parade, make it a scarezone instead with all the floats. Sweet 16 Lagoon Show - Keep the opening, but instead of movie clips, this would be like Fantasmic/World of Color and would go by these segments: Opening with birthday cake, Universal Monsters, Frightmares and Screams, Hail Imhotep, Jack’s partyhouse, A Gothic Night with the Caretaker, A Killer Story, Finale with Icons. The Director would host the entire show.
  7. AU HHN 2008 HOLLYWOOD- Live Your Worst Nightmare Mazes A Nightmare on Elm Street: Home Sweet Hell- 1428 Elm Street was the home where evil prevailed. The door is open; step inside, and witness true fear and wonder. The rooms inside go in different dimensions; a simple garden may be a jungle, a simple garage may be a whole junkyard. Beware, Freddy Krueger is near! Dreamthology: A History of Nightmares- There are more to dreams than you know of. Many cultures in the past believed the realm of dreams to be in-between the world of the living and the dead. Close your eyes and submerge yourself into sleep’s door. There you shall be taken to a journey through the nightmare and encounter the many creatures and spells within. Childhood Gone Wrong- A child’s life is supposed to be full of sweetness and sugar. Children are supposed to be happy and cheerful. But this ain’t the normal childhood. Toys, parties, school, the basic elements of kid life… It’s all downhill from here. And that’s even counting the children who do laugh but with sinister intent… Zones The Nightmare Begins (FRONT GATE AND NEW YORK)- Freddy greets you at the front gate (though not in person). You step into Universal Studios Hollywood itself though it’s distorted more as you pass through the entrance. You have entered through the door of sleep and into the realm of nightmares. Freddy’s Nightmare Minions greet you as you pass the boiler room. Island of the Dolls (WESTERN STREET) - There resides an island filled with hundreds of decaying dolls. They hang, some whole, others with their heads lopped off or by limb. Be sure not to wake up the spirits resting within this island, for they do not take kindly to unwanted visitors. And they have tons of vessels to serve their rage. Nightmare Demons (PARISIAN COURTYARD)- Mares. Incubi. Succubi. Alps. Baku. These are the creatures dwelling within dreams, waiting to enter your conscious mind. There they can inflict whatever they can unto you. But alas, they are only mere dreams right? Wrong. Thanks to Freddy’s machinations, you are now given the chance to face your fears head on. No Place Like London (Baker Street)- The time of the Industrial Revolution in London was not pretty. And not just because the streets were filled with fog and smoke. Workers suffered terrible working conditions, the factories being full of risks and dangers. Enter an abandoned boiler factory said to harbor haunted wretched spirits. And be careful of the various machines. Freddy’s Turf (Lower Lot)- Herein lies the epicenter of darkness, the nightmare’s heart. The skies are shrouded in a fog of fear, the streets colored in shades of green and red. Freddy’s Nightmare Minions prowl; looking for fresh victims to “play” with. The house of 1428 Elm Street resides within here… watch out. Freddy may be behind you. 14. From the old HHNVAULT forum. THE ICON The Grim Reaper: The Unfortunate Tale of Benjamin and Mariah Kush The year is 1698. The location, somewhere in rural Europe. Benjamin and Mariah Kush are a happily married couple who live and work in a Cornfield, residing in their two story wooden home. They lived about a mile from the nearest town, which they travelled to once a week to purchase supplies, sell their wares, and to converse. On any typical day Benjamin would be working the cornfields while Mariah shut herself up in her private room, which to Benjamin was forbidden; whenever she wasn't in the room, which wasn't terribly often, she kept it devoid of intruders via a strong, iron lock. The key of said lock was always worn around Mariah's neck. At one point the mayor of the nearby village had visited their residence and seemed awfully perturbed about the room. Benjamin was often curious about what lay within it, but never really made any attempt to find out what. Regardless of that quirk, Benjamin and Mariah's was a relatively happy life and a happy marriage: Benjamin loved Mariah with all his heart. One day Benjamin and Mariah had made the mile-trip to the village to sell their corn when disaster struck. A man named Oliver Alexander accused Mariah of being a witch. Almost immediately a trial was set up, with, ironically, Oliver Alexander himself presiding as judge, and several others served as a makeshift jury. Oliver cited the locked, secret room within the Kush's home to be the evidence incriminating Mariah. Before Benjamin could protest they wisked her off to several tests... they determined that witches did not feel pain when their hair was cut and would float when tossed into water. Unfortunately Mariah failed both of these examinations and it was determined that she would be burned at the stake. Finally Benjamin burst out and protested. Oliver asked Ben if even he knew what lay within the hidden room... he had to admit he had no idea. He looked sadly at Mariah, already being fastened to a stake, who simply stared back. All life seemed to have left her eyes. Benjamin grieved as the fire was quickly lit and Mariah burned... her shrieking scarred Benjamin's mind forever. Finally, she passed, her head limp. One by one the villagers who had stopped to watch walked back to their homes, as it was getting late, and the "show" was over. The next morning, when the villagers came to collect the corpse, they found it was missing. For the next few days Benjamin was cursed by grief. He felt immense loneliness and twangs of depression, his one loyal friend gone. He began to write a diary in order to maintain his thoughts and feelings somehow. To make matters worse, the voice and shrieks of Mariah still rang out in his head, especially during the night. They haunted him to no end and they wouldn't vanish. After many days of this he took the undamaged key, that had still been around Mariah's neck, and cautiously opened the locked door. Inside, he found a contained chamber with dozens and dozens of ceremonial candles. A strange, semi-large ring lay in the center of the room, with strange symbols painted on the table - painted in blood. Several books with strange symbols that explained Voodoo and Witchcraft lay on a shelf to the left. But most importnatly was Mariah's corpse, sitting almost stupidly on the table. Ben had stolen the body and placed her in the room so at least he could keep her somehow. He couldn't lose her. The voices haunted him again. This time, however, they seemed to form actual words. Benjamin heard Mariah. "Benjamin... kill him. Avenge me." Benjamin was disturbed and overjoyed at the same time. Then he asked to himself, "Kill whom?" "The person who killed me. Oliver... Alexander..." "I am not a murderer, Mariah! I love you, but I am not a murderer!" "Benjamin, you must avenge me! Bring justice to injustice! Give the bastard what he deserves... kill him... Ben... don't you love me...?" Benjamin shook the voices off and continued for several more days, regularly documenting his troubles in his diary, until the voices became unbearable. He again entered the room, and looked straight at Mariah's decaying corpse. "WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?" The corpse emptily stared at him. For it was a corpse, of course. As if it was mocking him. Benjamin was so overcome with rage and despair that he grabbed for the corpse, but accidently tearing off Mariah's head in the process. Now even he angrier, he screamed at the head... who screamed back. Benjamin screamed again, tossing the corpse in front of him. After gathering his bearings, he picked it up again and stared at it. The head began to speak. "Benjamin. Please. Avenge me. KILL HIM." At last, Benjamin gave in. He left Mariah's head on the table and quickly departed the house, breathing heavily and sweating terribly. He grabbed his scythe and proceeded into the village. There he found Oliver Alexander, and threatened him with his scythe to remain quiet. He then knocked him unconscious and dragged him back the mile to the cornfield; once there he made a clearing away from the house, gathered some firewood, and produced a stake. He then fastened the now stirring Oliver to this stake and lit the fire. Ben watched Oliver burn and shriek with remorse. And yet he felt some how fulfilled. To add insult to injury, once Oliver was dead and gone, he hoisted him off the still burning stake with his scythe, and sliced off his head. He then took dumped the body deeper into the cornfield, but took the head back to Mariah in the room. There he held it in front of the corpse. "There, Mariah. Are you happy?" Benjamin could've sworn he heard Mariah say "No". Days passed. Benjamin heard word that Oliver Alexander was missing, but it was assumed he had merely gotten intoxicated, wandered off, and would be back within a day or two. Meanwhile the voices had not disapeered; they still persisted within Ben's troubled mind. They continued to say to avenge Mariah... though this only confused Benjamin, as he had thought he'd already avenged her. Finally the voices became unbearable to the point where Ben would have ear-splitting headaches and would even vomit constantly. Weakened and frightened, he went back into the room to see Mariah. "What do you want from me, Mariah?" The corpse spoke. "I want you to avenge me. Make their imperfect souls suffer." "I already avenged you my love..." "No. Your work is not yet done. Go find the jury members. Bring them to the field and kill them. Avenge me, Benjamin Kush, avenge me!" Seeing no other option, Benjamin proceeded into town and repeated the process of kidnapping, burning, and slicing his victims. Each time he noticed it bothered him less and less. After one week, in which time he had finished the last jury member, he was completely numbed. By this point the village had realized that something was going on and begin to keep a careful eye on its patrons. And unfortunately for Benjamin, the voices still persisted. Mariah demanded that he slay the bystanders who watched and did nothing. Without regret or complaint Benjamin began to slay these people, too, one by one. Until finally, a man named Mark Finnegan realized that the disapeerances must be murders. He staked out that evening with two of his friends. They sighted Benjamin knocking out a woman who had watched the execution and then proceeding to drag her back towards the cornfield. Mark and his friends cautiously followed a fair distance behind. Unfortunately by the time they caught up with Ben at the clearing the woman was already dead; they watched in horror as Ben sliced off her head with his scythe. Angered, disturbed, and disgusted, Mark ran at Benjamin, catching him by surprise; he knocked him into the fire, his scythe falling to the ground. Benjamin screamed and tried to crawl out, but his pants were caught on a sharper piece of wood. The three villagers watched in bitter satisfaction as he burned, watching to be sure he had died. Unfortunately for them, Ben broke free. Still on fire, he scooped up his scythe and charged at the men, slicing away at their throats and chests until all three were dead and mutilated. Ben himself was horrifically mutilated; the fire had burned off entire portions of his flesh and certainly most of his skin, even exposing parts of his skull. He was in agonizing pain. Ben realized he didn't have long before he perished of his wounds. He quickly took his scythe to the house where he feverishly wrote a final diary entry using his own bleeding finger. He then entered the room to talk to Mariah one last time. "Benjamin. You have done well. But your work is not complete." "Mariah, I am dying..." "Use your final moments to slaughter all those who destroyed our love. Go to the village and slaughter the men, the women, the cattle, the children! Make them pay, Benjamin Kush, AVENGE ME! AVENGE ME!!!" Benjamin charged down the stairs at that, grabbing his scythe again and donning a dark-black cloak, shrouding his face. He ran to town where he began crashing into every residence, brutally slaughtering every living being within regardless of age or gender. He had slaughtered half of the remaining villagers by the time the other half awoke and surrounded him with pitchforks, torches, and knives. Making one final stand, Benjamin charged at the closing mob, swinging his scythe wildly, slicing off heads and through bodies; finally, he was struck clean in the chest by a pitchfork. Still holding his scythe, Benjamin fell to his knees, and cried: "Oh, Mariah! Bring sweet, sweet, death!" And he died. The remaining villagers, shocked by the turn of events, depressingly turned away, grieving for the many killed in the massacre, and went back to their dwellings. Meanwhile Ben was rushing through purgatory, approaching Hell. But then, unexpectedly, he came to an abrupt halt. Then he heard the voice of Mariah ring out, yet again... "Benjamin, dear... your work is not finished. It will never be finished. Do you see what these people have done to you? What they've done to me? What they've done to US? They all must die, Benjamin Kush. You must end the lives of the living and punish those who already are dead. Slice their heads off and burn their corpses. Travel the world and kill all, as they all have the same corrupted minds. Where you go, death shall be swift to follow. Bring all of the corpses back to the field.. to... me... so we may harvest them... it shall be a harvest of souls. They will all pay for their inner evil, and you shall be their Grim Reaper!" With that, Benjamin Kush opened his eyes and grinned. Of course, he was no longer Benjamin Kush. No, he was something far more wicked and powerful. He was the Grim Reaper.

  18. This is the Universal park where all the events take place. Overall This ditches the outdated and kinda irrelevant studio theme that only really works on Hollywood. Rather it’s akin to Islands of Adventure. Look at the very Universal logo itself. Why not have it themed as a trip through the world itself? Alternatively, the theme could that be of time itself, with Doc Brown serving as the park’s mascot. Universal’s Harbor of Adventure The entry plaza. It kind of ties all the lands together aesthetically. Characters representing each land (but NOT from those lands itself) are present. • One idea for presentation; is that it starts off mundane and low key; but the design grows more grand and fantastic as you go on; eventually leading to… • The world tree. Inspired by Yggdrasil; it’s not really a real tree, but a big ol mess representing the lands you are about to go to. • The Enchanted Oak Tavern would be present but with a different interior as it’s not in an medieval setting. Jurassic Park Overall the land is pretty identical to Orlando’s; however the scenery (or specifically the greenery) would be emphasized and the land may be longer if Pteranodon Flyers is a ride here (so that the ride isn’t so short). • Jurassic Park River Adventure is a hybrid of Orlando (overall ride design; second floor of building) and Hollywood (Falling Jeep, Canopy and entrance, T-Rex at roof). • Camp Jurassic and Discovery Center would remain identical to Orlando. • Japan’s version of Jurassic Outfitters has an animatronic raptor; this park steals that. • Dino Encounter features a variety of Dinos like Raptors and Triceratops, each week or day focusing on a different set. • The restaurant for this is themed to the center of the earth itself. Egypt Timey Wimey Storyline for the area is that a strange time paradox caused by a meteor caused the various ages of Egypt from various points in time to clash. So you’ll see explorers from the 1930s speaking with royals from the Old Kingdoms while decrepit tombs and grand palaces co-exist. In actuality this is just an excuse to not be specific with what the land should look like. • For all the attractions in this land, the various storylines and settings depend on which point of time the attractions are set in. • The water ride first takes a trip on the Nile River then descends into a drop. Either it transports guests into a world of mysticism or it takes them back into the Kingdom; a historical tour. • Either a haunted house or a Poseidon’s Fury style walk though; the storyline follows: hh1 is set in a museum ransacked with the army of the dead, hh2 is set in the Oasis of Ahm Shere where the Scorpion King and Anubis’s army waits, and hh3 takes guests into the Egyptian Underworld itself. • Revenge of the Mummy opened after 2004 in this; and is an original take that doesn’t repeat scenes from the Florida and Hollywood versions. Maybe it’s in a museum, maybe a tomb. • The restaurant for this is based in the Egyptian Palace itself. Grand architecture with high ceilings, giant statues lining the walls, exquisite food. • An actual museum of sorts would be present here. Either it showcases exotic animals associated with Egypt, actual Egyptian artifacts or props from the Mummy and Scorpion King movies. • Stage show either follows an historical storyline like Rome’s conquering of Egypt or a fantastical one like the stories of Sekhmet and Set. Universal Horror or the Old World Overall land takes you back into the worlds of DRACULA, FRANKENSTEIN, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA & THE WOLFMAN. 19th century, villages and dark streets. • Castle Dracula is an land in of itself; with either a haunted house or Poseidon’s Fury walkthrough exploring the corridors of the Count’s home and a water ride underneath taking guests down the murky depths as a homage to the defunct Wildwood attraction. • Wolfman Woods is a roller coaster down an forest where it simulates you either being chased by a werewolf or as a werewolf yourself prowling the countryside. • The Musical Show is set in an opera house and houses either a musical adaptaing THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA or FRANKENSTEIN. Instead of a traditional theme park stage show which is normally a 30 minute show done repeatedly, this one has 30 minutes acts throughout the day; eventually leading to an ending, then it repeats itself until the show really ends. • The restaurant is themed on a Classic Monster not showcased in the other attractions (except the Mummy). Or it’s an original place that still is appropriate for the gothic mood for the rest of the event. Amity Village Overall land and JAWS is identical to the Orlando and Osaka versions. • Amity Landing Restaurant is the same as Osaka’s • Instead of carnival games though, we get carnival rides here homaging either lesser known or hard to translate IPs like the Blues Brothers. • A classic dark ride haunt is themed to Chucky of the Child’s Play series. Brad Dourif reprises his role. New York Overall land is not a replication of New York like the other parks. Here New York is a war zone with super villains rioting and super heroes fighting and protecting. The vibe wouldn’t be depressing but the architecture would still be gnarled, smashed, and broken. • The Amazing Adventures of Apider-Man is identical to the IOA version. • Xavier Institute is either a 3-D Movie like Terminator or an actual ride (probably a Top Spinner). Storyline is either the Danger Room has gone berserk, a Sentinel is on a rampage, or Magneto crashes the party. • Fantastic Four would be set in the Baxter Building and features a Reed experiment gone wrong. • Either King Kong Encounter or Kongfrontation is recreated exactly as they were from the original parks they came from. • Same thing with Safari Outfitters with Kong prop. And Finnegan’s. • Of course this would be the place of a Marvel comic shop. • The Big Apple eatery is either a homage to New York or is set in a LITERAL big apple caused by super powered hijinks. May involve giant insects. Hill Valley Timey Wimey Once again, the storyline is that weird time shenanigans happened. In actuality, this is to avert the problem with time; so that it stays relevant. Characters like Medieval Knights, Samurai, 80s teenagers coexist and interact. Overall land however is faithful to the version of Hill Valley from 2015. • Back to the Future the Rollercoaster uses actual sets for the coaster sequences. • E.T. Adventure is set as a spaceship mission and is more technically impressive than the other ones. • 3-D Movie may feature JAWS or another film relevant to the lore of BTTF. • Cafe 80s recreates the movie’s restaurant but with a bigger arcade and actual waiters (using the movie’s digital ones would be both creepy and impractical).
