  1. Quoting this post because the other one is way long and I’m bad at using this forum !! But !!!! You mentioned that you had pictures of the sconces in the Scary Tales opening hallway; are those uploaded anywhere? I did ST a total of ten times last Sunday (to see Jake as Hansel), but I didn’t even notice them !
  2. Update for anyone interested: Ernest Lee and his incredible barrels are back in full swing! I could see the cord they hang from shaking under tension and movement before I entered his shed, and I was not left disappointed!! I heard a comment about them being made of metal once before; it looks like they’re plastic now, but they’re still pretty loud when he slams them together.
  3. Shot in the dark, but that delay should definitely be unrelated to a cast change. HHN has two sets of backup actors: Reserves, who may choose to be there on any given night as part of a central group for any holes in streets or houses, and the Fire Crew, who are required to be present as an understudy for their own house or street, I believe. The way cast changes happen, at least for characters like in Trick R Treat that primarily come out of “boo holes,” is referred to as a “tagout,” because the replacement actor literally “tags” the person currently on by tapping their shoulder to say “once you come back in, you’re done for your shift.” Long story short, I watched Seeds go down like that, with the house lights on, actors away, and the line delayed for a while. Because the break room for Seeds is in that parade building, you can’t see them go away in hoods, but my boyfriend was part of that cast and shared that fact. There had been a nosebleed within the house that prompted cleaning up for the sake of both the guests and the actors, and they spent a very thorough amount of time sending their crew through to assure that it was safe and clean. Things like that could be a possible reason for what happened to you !
  4. When exactly did they take it out? I know it was around the end of September, but does that mean it was basically only there for two weeks or so?
  5. This is absolutely true!! For purely selfish (seeing Jake as a Bloom creature) reasons, I did Seeds about five times Sunday night. The wait got wayyyy up to 105 (yikes!!!!) but could otherwise be a solid 45. At 1:00-ish I got back in line (posted 25) and got through in about 15, waited with the ops crew for the 1:45 cast change, and had plenty of time to do the house, leave, and re-enter the queue. At this point, I was able to do it with literally no wait, to the point that I considered letting the solitary couple ahead of me go on so I could go through the house completely alone!!
  6. I know this thread is old but I was disappointed it was so empty!! I went on the opening Saturday and Sunday, so I have some things to share that I loved. One thing that I noticed from literally day 2 of the event onward was that some of the carnies in the Simpsons scarezone would frequently hide behind the pillars on either side of the bridge that connects it to Diagon Alley across the water just to pop out at the guests on their way over ! It’s always fun to watch the scareactors stoop down and peep over the wall to select a good victim. I’m sure it’s not an opening weekend-only thing, but one thing that made the event much more personalized to me was in Sting Alley close to Killer Klowns. Being so used to the concept of WDW’s Instagram walls, I found Sting Alley with its colorful lighting to be ideal for silly, artsy photos to mess around with. As I climbed the steps to the (guest-accessible: no rule breaking) loading platform near the wooden doors and posed for a fun picture, I noticed one of the klowns that had evidently noticed me enter and strayed to a spot almost in Sting Alley BEHIND the ice cream truck to stare at me and wiggle his fingers in greeting. This experience was really neat as it took that particular scareactor out of their crowd and almost out of their entire zone just to focus on creeping me out. In addition, correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m fairly certain that Ernest Lee didn’t do his (now retired) barrel thing on opening weekend. I may have just been watching it at the wrong time, but I remember him smiling, reaching over our heads, and saying, “I see you’ve met the family!” with no barrels.
  7. I can’t speak for this set of weeks, but I can say that I’ve done Blumhouse twice and both times were literally a walk-on. I participated in Stay and Scream on opening weekend and went right through, did Seeds of Extinction, saw an old friend who was on her ways to Blumhouse, and joined her for yet another walk-on at about 6:30. I don’t know when it starts to accumulate a wait, but it’s certainly a more unpopular house this year and I doubt it gets bad at all, especially early in the event!
  8. Hi ! This is my first post ever, as I just found out about this site and read through this whole thread. My boyfriend Jake is member of the reserve cast, meaning that he fills in whenever someone (of his body type or similar) calls out. Since he’s there, I chose to get the Frequent Fear Plus Pass on Friday. He got a message before the event even began that they had sold out, so we were initially worried that would mean I couldn’t buy that pass and get in. However, even on sold-out nights, they do not cut off the sale of multi-night passes, interestingly ! As for the busy nature of this weekend, I was there; it’s true that Sunday felt much thicker and difficult to handle than Friday. I manage to go through Halloween 4 seven times (to see my guy) over the course of the night on Friday, while even back of the park houses like Seeds of Extinction got up to 105 on Sunday. The shortest wait over the entire night other than in the very beginning and end of the event was Trick ‘r Treat at 45. Sorry for the super long post!! I hope it helps, though!
