  1. Ok, so lets make THIS thread a Heterosexual singles event and if the LGBT community would like to do something similar, start up a "LGBT Singles Night" Thread. Does that meet everyone's needs? Its like we are making a mountain out of molehill for the sake of political correctness and not hurting anyone's feelings. Anyone can show up to EITHER event to meet single people, but just keep in the back of your mind that the night you go, Hetero or LGBT, will have different groups. Yes, new friends can be made at either event, but, yes, you might have the wrong approach applied to you if you are not of the persuasion aimed at for that particular night. So, moving on, event is 6 weeks away, is there any mutual interest of girls and guys attending a meeting night? ...Mike
  2. Well, why don't we try it on the first or second week of the event, see how it goes, and if things kick off well, maybe it can be continued the rest of the month. Need some sort of board to keep track of what girls/guys want to show up, ages, etc. Look at this way everyone, the key to the start of any friendship or relationship is having something in common. It is pretty obvious from the support of this site, the work that goes into the shirts each year and the amount of speculation/information leaks, that we ALL love HHN! The coolest thing about this event is that people LOVE it from 18 to 60, it is such a diverse group of people that attend these events. The BEST thing is that there are little or NO children! No offense to those who have kids, just way too many untrained parents that do not know how to control their children which ruins things for everyone.
  3. They told me on the phone this past week that the rush of fear with the Premiere pass discount will be 149.99, so about 80.00 more. Since I plan on attending at least 4 days and possibly 6 days, that works out to 20.00 a day for not having to wait in terrible lines. More time for adult beverages and taking my time! Mike
  4. I have to say, the most memorable event was when they had it in both Universal Studios and IOA, I am pretty sure they will never do that again, although you would think Rollings would allow dementors to be scare actors in the Harry Potter area. Its so silly, her audience has a LARGE portion who are adults and to ban the evil parts of Harry Potter from an event like that just seems silly. Jurassic park by far was a great place for scare actors to jump at you and really allowed the crowds to wander. I would say after that, pretty much every event when they had the parades. I miss the HHN coins (which were kind of a rarity). Yes, I know, I know, the crowds have gotten too big, they have added houses instead of the parade, but it used to be so much fun! Finally, I love the year with the EVIL clowns, people are just terrified of clowns. Probably due to the mini series "it", but nonetheless, a GREAT year! ...mike
  5. Well, becoming single myself rather recently, I think it would be a great idea as well. Can the Admins do some sort of interest board for certain nights and then have a Girl/Guy sign up or interest sheet? I personally think meeting up at Finnigans BEFORE the event and having some drinks/conversation first would be a great ice breaker. Then we could head out as a group to hit the houses together. Keep it cool, keep it friendly and fun, and keep it non creepy (no stalking guys... or girls on some occasions...lol). I think it would end up being a great time! Now the question is: Do you do it on a Thursday when there are less people or do you do it on a Friday/Saturday when alot of people do not have to work the next day. I think Saturdays are a bit too crowded, so that would probably be a bad idea and I also think that earlier in the season would be easier for a group to get together rather than towards the end of the event. You have to also keep in mind with a mixer like this is if everyone will have speed passes or not. The first 2 or 3 houses wont matter really if you are starting at the holding area of Finnigans, but anything after that could be a 15 minute wait all the way up to 3 hours of wait time. So: Pick Night(s) to have event Do a Guy/girl signup sheet Identify if you have a speed pass or not for event Meet at Finnigans for meeting and greeting Be cool, look to make new friends and if things go well, you might meet someone who hits it off with you Probably want to wear current years HNNM shirts to help identify being part of the meet, breaking the ice is always the hardest part...
  6. I agree, I like to drink early myself at Finnigans, I do it every year, and then hit the houses. Being a Six foot two guy, I tend to not attract the attention of the scare actors due to my A: being a guy and B: being a good sized guy that looks like he can handle himself. Soooooo, getting some booze in me early at least helps with startles, no so much scares! Plus its fun to catch up with all the other fans from this site that I tend to see only once a year. Plus, JAN is a great bartender there! ...Mike
  7. DDId I miss something? They are saying the The Rush of Fear Pass is 69.99, but it is almost August and they still have posted what the The Rush of Fear Pass with Halloween Horror Nights Express Pass will be. Does anyone know what the express option of the first ten nights will cost or when they will go on sale? Mike
  8. I have been using Valet parking for HHN for almost TEN years and this year was the first time they pulled this on me. MY Premier pass states "Pass holder benefits differ depending on type of pass and may not be valid for separately ticketed events such as HHN and Rock the Universe" NO WHERE on my AP does it state a $25.00 parking fee for valet. People were pissed, the Valet guys were pissed, HELL, EVEN Guest Relations was pissed about this move they pulled this year. Management told everyone THE NIGHT OF THE FIRST HHN about the $25.00 fee from what I was told my Guest Services and 3 different Valet Guys. IGNORANT or GREEDY decision by Universal that no doubt in my mind cost them business in FOOD, Movies and City Walk Clubs. I have had this pass for several years, so it might not be updated, I will play the devils advocate on that point, but not giving ANY discount for AP TOP level pass is just silly!
  9. Ok, my BIGGEST gripe this year is what BRAIN SURGEON decided to charge EVERYONE 25.00 to park in Valet? I was told by customer service that this was a LAST MINUTE thing, it is not on the website and NOT on the Premier annual passes. The poor valet guys were not making any money, I had to park in the stinking garage with a million other people and what really bothered me was what if you were just going to have dinner, go to citiwalk or see a movie? There are over 20 days in the month of October that Universal wants to charge you FULL valet prices for parking! It really discouraged me from going over there for dinner and the movies on a couple nights. First of all Universal, IF you are going to charge for valet, MAKE SURE you give annual pass holders at least a years notice and it is in BOLD print. Second, IF you are going to charge for parking, at the LEAST you could give pass holders a discount for like 5 or 10 dollars to park, NOT the full 25 dollar price everyone else is paying. I also agree with one of the earlier posts about flashing hats/horns. I was waiting in line for the mummy with friends and saw three girls get on the ride with those flashing horns. Not only do this items ruin the effect of the ride, but they could fly off and hit a customer behind them during the course of the attraction. Universal should have a IRON CLAD rule that NO flashing items can be turned on during shows, rides OR houses. There are just too many ignorant people out there that only care about their own pleasure and ignore everyone elses point of view.
  10. I used a Canon S90 Digital Camera. I did not even need a flash with most of the night shots this camera is so fast. Also of note, I think the first "chance" that is in these pictures is by far the BEST chance scare actor. She is sexy, funny, full of energy and would not hesitate to Cut your neck if she got a ....chance... LOL My link
  11. Great work, the songs are awesome! I like all of them!
  12. I wish Universal would LEARN from either pass holders that stay in the park or stay and scream customers. I know that I usually spend anywhere from 60 to 100 dollars in the bar eating and having drinks while I wait and I am sure others spend money no matter where they are held. If Universal promoted a 10-20 minute head start on the holding area people, I believe they would see a revenue gain from those who stay.
  13. I am a 6 foot 2 guy and 210 lbs and you guys do "occasionally" get me ! And what you said is exactly what I usually say "oh S*@T, you got me guys, nice job". Hell that is the whole reason I go to the park year after year. For the Unbelievable sets and the great scares! I just wish you would go after me more sometimes, not sure if I don't make a good target or people being violent scares YOU away from approaching big guys like myself. I will have either my Vault shirt or this years Horror nightmares shirt on this year and hope you make every attempt to try and get me to jump. I DO appreciate your hard work and if I ever see anyone being violent towards a scare actor, I do my part to let either the police or staff know what person did what so they can be properly disciplined or ejected from the park. I actually saw a couple people hopping the fence to the lake a couple years ago in order to go swimming I presume. Made sure I directed security over to take care of that. I also wish the police would spot check under age kids on the way into the park as a lot of them get very drunk before coming in. They can't handle their alcohol and cause problems by being both violent and trying too hard to impress their friends, which causes major issues! The cops have alcohol testing units that can detect booze on your breath (just by placing it near your mouth) and random checks would definitely help to prevent a great many incidents in my opinion. If EVERYONE would take a pro active approach to HHN as observant customers, I think we all could make the event a safer and much more fun place to be for everybody. Please, do your part and look after our scare actor friends when you are in the park! Good luck trying to scare me this year !!! ...Mike
  14. I paid HHN Express Plus Friday, October 01, 2010 $59.99 and HHN 1ST 3 WKDS FRI Friday, October 01, 2010 $34.99 which came out to 100.00 with tax and fees I would be willing to sell these for $75.00 with free FedEx shipping if anyone is interested. If I don't hear from anyone, I will be putting them up on ebay under "thefixer2" where I have over 300 positive feedbacks from previous sales if you are concerned about my reputation. I would have to charge another 5.00 to cover ebay fees in that case, but let me know if interested though PM here or my email at kmkenneth@hotmail.com

  16. And if anyone is interested, I have both a Friday night entry for October 1rst and an Express pass for that night as well. Bought them at annual pass holder prices and would be willing to sell em for 20% less than what I paid. My buddy was supposed to go thursday and friday but he is bailing on Friday night as it is the last night of his vacation and his wife made him cancel.
  17. Well, I will be at the Irish Pub in Universal probably starting at 4 pm every day I am there and will either be wearing my Vault shirt from last year (as I was unable to attend last years event) or this years Horror Night Mares shirt, so I will be easy to spot. More than likely I will be AT the bar warming up for the houses!!!
  18. I have the frequent fear pass, Friday option with express on all nights as well. Going to be there Sept 30, Oct 1,2,3 Probably the 7th and definitely the 8th. A lot of us usually meet up wat the Irish pub in Universal as a holding area and drink a good bit before heading out to the houses. I am going down by myself this year and will just be meeting up with HHN Vaulters/Horror Nightmarers, so you are welcome to join if you are going those dates. That invitation goes out to anyone else that is interested as well. I HATE waiting in lines, so that is why I bought the FFP with Friday and express pass option, makes the event a lot more enjoyable I think. Mike
  19. I have an entrance ticket and Express pass for Friday October 1rst for sale if anyone is interested. My buddy was supposed to go with me on both Sept 30th and Oct 1rst and he cannot go now on the 1rst. I personally will be flying down and staying at Universal from the 30th through the 9th of October because I love the event so much. If anyone is interested, I would be will to sell the ticket and express pass for the even for 20% below what I paid for it at Annual pass holder price. You can contact me here on the forums or send me an email at kmkenneth@hotmail.com if would like. ...Mike
