It seems to me that the trademark issues have to do with the specific look and make up used, and the exact back story tied in with her comics. The urban legend of Bloody Mary can't be trademarked and since they've changed the looks of other icons to update them over the years I would think that giving her a clear backstory tied only to the urban legend with details that clearly separate her from the comic character and updating her look would mean she could show up any year they want...I don't know if they are interested in burning that bridge in case they wanna work with her in the future, or incase they use her make up products in any way at hhn. I would think having her show up enough years later that she may not even notice and avoiding using the phrase "she's back" in anyway to draw attention would all be easy ways to prove they aren't ripping her off just going a different route... idk maybe there's other details that I'm missing but this seems to be a case with some huge loopholes if universal is interested, sensitivity seems to be the bigger issue and how they handle it than the rights!! Oh and can can I just say I'm loving the fact that they're telling us when the announcements are coming this year even if it's only the day before!!! plus if the trademark she did have has expired than moving forward she can't even try to prove they ripped her off in the future, she has no ground to stand on anymore!

Not necessarily Chicago I'm out in New England so I'm not sure about there but either spike tv or the sci fi Chanel had the host of their Halloween movie events film in HHN, it was the first week of the event and they actually mentioned where they were and interviewed guests for the tv spots. We were watching her film for a while over in the simpsons area. We thought she was a local news reporter or something then when we got home I saw her on tv and freaked out they really should advertise more tho I went to universal every year during the summer and in all the years I've been going it took me looking for something new to do for a vacation plan for me to find out about it!

Never been to Knotts that looks like it would have been really cool if done correctly tho!! Gotta wonder how well it would work with the numbers HHN deals with on a nightly basis tho I feel like there'd be a lot of GENUINELY broken flashlights by the end of the nightI think that's why they always gave us paper glasses for the 3D houses cheap and no broken plastic or glass lying around if they get dropped

Time the lights remotely that way the actors can time and orient themselves as well don't actually give control to the crowd just make them think they have it! By timing it remotely you can also make sure the guests don't get too far off track smacking into things or the actors. Plus maybe it's just me but if the one light you were supposed to have in a pitch black house was malfunctioning I'd think the house would be way creepier!!

I feel like that's a different beast altogether tho could be wrong but it had been a running gag for a few years (even in the Bill and Ted shows)about how long it took Disney to complete pandora I'm sure the idea of starting later on construction finishing around the same time and competing successfully with Disney must have seemed really appealing to the higher ups...even if that proved...debatably successful on the other hand house announcements are much smaller on scale than a full theme park opening or even a movie that people know is coming opening in theatres, they are usually one and done too in that once they're announced that's about all there is to say until we've seen them come September and they usually don't come back year after year...USUALLY...(*cough cough*) I'm looking at you walking dead...(*cough cough*) and now you purge(*cough cough*)...but in all seriousness regardless of whether or not you prefer Marvel or DC or any others you can't argue the last handful of Marvel movies have blown up newsfeeds and headlines with success even their least successful dominate the media right after their release unless universal doesn't feel like they're competing with a movie release...more poor planing if you ask me...they really might not try anything till at least a week or two after when the steams been let out a little especially if it's a really big property they spent a lot of time and money acquiring. Wouldn't be bad timing for the rest of the tickets like multinight ones to show up tho if you ask me, if those are up and available before the big announcements I feel like they'd have a better idea of what IPs genuinely bring in money, I feel like too many people know there are multinight tix and wait for those even first time visitors!! No parks do only single night tix anymore unless they're small scale attractions! Sorry btw just realized how long a post that was

Not "Hell route" hun lol I was referencing "From Hell" a 2001 movie based on the Alan Moore comic, the title comes from the letter the real Jack the Ripper wrote during the height of the murders.

Go figure another one I barely missed lol would still be cool to see them go a more From Hell route than Body Collectors tho body collectors seem to have such a wide unique history and imagery of their own there's tons they could do different likewise tho another body collectors house would always sound good to me too no matter when and where they place the storyline the Recollections house they did was one of my favorites!!...not that any of this seems to be likely for this year lol oh well a girl can hope for next time

This would make my whole summer lol another house I'd give anything to have been able to see the first time around!!! Not sure about whether or not the rest of the clues tie in in any way but first thing that comes to mind when I hear detective is unsolved murders Ripper, Dahlia, etc... memory eludes me on what I've read about past events so if detective is tied to something we've already seen in some way I'm not sure if this would rule that kinda house out but either one would be a cool theme to try! Victorian era white chapel with the Ripper could be an awesome original if done right! Of coarse that's probably more wishful thinking since that's a dream original for me to see them do plus I'm pretty sure I'm mixing the clues

I don't think Bloody Mary will have anything to do with the event unless she's a clue to something else. I believe there's copyright issues surrounding her I don't know the full situation but I've been lurking long enough that someone points it out every time I hear her name mentioned!

No worries I got it wasn't an actual rumor or based on anything we heard just had to chime in and agree it's a really good idea they should try eventually!!

Hi guys I've been lurking for a VERY(*insert EMBARRASSINGLY*) long time!!! First year I attended was 22 and after seeing everyone on fb guessing the houses before they were announced I scoured the web when I got home to find out HOW lol came across this site and a few others but I've lurked around here ever since because the info seems the most accurate and there's genuine discussion between everyone! Every year I always plan on joining in instead of reading along but for one reason or another I never get to and it felt kinda weird to jump in after all the houses were announced every year. The forums seem to be changing quite a bit this year tho with a lot of new names so I figured now or never lol. The rumors you guys have been discussing all sound pretty good this year the likely and the unlikely (not that I'm hard to please infact I'm probably pretty hard to disappoint) ino the rumor is every year but the Thing would be a major bucket list house for me since I just missed the first one and we haven't actually seen one based directly on the '82 version which has been replayed enough times I shouldn't even admit it in our house. Kinda disturbed that the Lost Boys rumor didn't get more people excited tho lol maybe it's just because I grew up with it as a favorite but I'd probably drop dead and roll over in my grave for a chance to see that show up lmao! And last but not least since I just read it a Norse mythology house would be EPIC any mythology house would be a favore for the year of mine and I think tomb of the ancients proved it works for the general public too when the put work into it!!!
