Yeah BoH was pretty terrible. I’m pretty sure I put it at the bottom of my list last year. AvED was close behind it. Purge is definitely overdone. Not as overdone as TWD was but I’m ready for something new. I wish the Blumhouse House was a highlight to just 1 of their films that was released for the year. I said earlier in the thread that I like my houses to have a linear story and Chris called me out by saying I probably didn’t like Silver Screams and All Nite Die-In because they weren’t linear either. But I actually liked those houses, I’m a hypocrite. And I’m ok with that.

    PS- Hi Chris *tackles*

Edit- here is my house ranking list from last year. I guess I did put HoB above AvED. Oh well, they were both bad lol

    1. Scarecrow: The Reaping
    2. Hive
    3. American Horror Story
    4. The Fallen
    5. Dead Waters
    6. Saw
    7. The Shinning
    8. Horrors of Blumhouse
    9. Ash vs Evil Dead

I was actually very disappointed with SAW. I just felt like it was missing something. Might be the fact that  just don't find that Pig mask to be very scary, but I expected more from it. The scenes were cool, just not what I had expected. I agree though that HOB and AvED are definitely at the bottom from last year. I'd rank them:

    1. Scarecrow: The Reaping
    2. Hive
    3. American Horror Story
    4. The Shining
    5. Dead Waters
    6. The Fallen
    7. SAW
    8. AvED
    9. Blumhouse

Wait a sec... John Murdy said the reason they're doing H4 is because they're going to represent ALL of the Halloween movies... So... Does that mean...

    Halloween - HHN 24

Halloween: Hell Comes To Haddonfield - HHN 26

Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers - HHN 28

Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers - HHN 30

Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers - HHN 32

    Halloween H20: 20 Years Later - HHN 34

    Halloween: Resurrection - HHN 36

    Halloween 2007 - HHN 38

    Halloween II 2009 - HHN 40

    Halloween 2018 - HHN 42

Take out Curse, Resurrection and the Zombie remakes and I could live with it. Obviously I'm a huge Halloween fan, but even I hated those movies.

I'm sorry guys.. I wanted to give happy death day a chance... I really did. What a dumb movie. Not scary at all. No suspense, no creativity. Dumb... im sorry. Not trying to be the old grouchy guy, but what a dumb movie. Complete rip off of Groundhog Day but without any good ideas.. just bad.. may be skipping this maze if it's coming. And I'm 8 drinks deep.... I really wanted to give it a shot..

So now that I am sobered up a little bit, let me try and clarify my rant on this movie from Saturday. I wasn't scared for one second. The dialogue was cringe worthy, just your typical *insert sex joke or pun here*... The mask the killer wore was laughable. Idk, overall I just thought it was a dumb movie.  I'm sure people enjoyed it and were entertained, but I just didn't see it that way. Okay, ranting about HDD over now.

No to mention its the silliest f**king movie ever created. My god that was terrible.

Just my opinion of course. A rather strong one at that..... LOL

It was really really stupid. not scary at all. Thank God we aren't seeing that in Orlando. I'm not a huge fan of what we are getting anyway, but I'll still go through just because. Last years' Horrors of Blumhouse wasn't great either IMO. The Sinister part was the only good quality for me.

Trip officially booked for me FYI. Heading down for the weekend of September 29th and 30th.

so since we don't have much to speculate now. what scenes do you guys wanna see in the houses?

Sticking with my biased H4 speculation.... would really like to see the ending scene with Jaime standing at the top of the stairs and a Donald Pleasance look a like just yelling (lip syncing to a track) No, NO, NO, No, NO over and over for hours haha.

Having rewatched the film a lot happens outside. The space being used for this house, however, will make it difficult to pull that off.

The other thing that struck me is the amount of guns used in this film, including friendly fire. I’d imagine they would try to steer away from the gun violence, and showcase everything else. This, coupled with house location makes it extremely limiting in my mind.

Having not experienced Halloween and Halloween 2 at HHN I’m looking forward to giving it a go, but not expecting to be blown away by it.

Yes a lot happens outside too, but some things, like the ending, will be hard to pull off. When he's shot and falls into the mine shaft at the end, that'll be a hard one to pull off.... especially, as you said, I think guns will be used as minimal as possible.. but I still think they can do some cool stuff with it. We'll see.....

That’s how I felt about that Eli Roth commercial last year.

Hahaha, the Silver Shamrock song is brutal when it's stuck in your head... H4 is probably the second best sequel after 2. It's not the greatest movie ever, but it's entertaining to an extent. A lot of the movie revolves around the little girl and Rachel her step sister, so I'm curious to see how much of them are incorporated into the maze.

  8. I know not too many are excited for this one, but Im very biased, because it's on of my guilty pleasures every Halloween. I am very curious to see what they do with Halloween 4. I'm thinking maybe it'll start off in the Psyche Ward and have an upside down ambulance somewhere where Michael escapes? Also, I wonder how much Jaime and Rachel will be incorporated in the house since most of the movie revolves around them.... I'm expecting to see a lot of Sheriff Meekers' House as well, maybe the school (get a blonde Michael just for kicks?)... Very interested in seeing what they come up with.

HHN has done a house dedicated to the original and for part 2. The next logical choice is 4, as it is the next Michael chapter. 3 would be tons of fun, but they'll want the Myers iconography this year. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Mike Myers belongs in Shrek.

I agree. Maybe a house with a focus on 4 with some number 3 easter eggs thrown in? I don't think there's anyway they dedicate an entire Halloween house to number 3 and don't have Michael there at all. But a part 4+5 mashup would be cool, even though 5 was pretty bad.

They're pulling a good bit of speculative information from other sites, and a decent bit is imprecise.

Close... but imprecise. For example, zone locations are wrong. And Stranger Things is in SS 22, and the originals are splitting 24. That's not even addressing the specifics of the some of the houses ("B-Movie Mash-up" is a bit more specific than just "B-Movie", plus looks to be entirely original, while there's specificity in WHICH Halloween could be a house). And there's some crazy potential that Horrors of Blumhouse could be dedicated to a single movie...

And my "something to eat for it" comment is because the next announcement is Snacks.

specificity in WHICH Halloween could be a house

Interesting. I wonder if because it's an 80's theme this year we might see a mashup of Halloween 4+5 plus maybe a scene from the new movie... That'd be awesome IMO. Halloween 4 is one of my all time favorites.

    Dare I say it? Soon.

    Right now? No.

I'll give info to work it out though.

The Ifrit has been very good with syllables in the past. I see two possibilities given the meter. Two syllables bringing the final count to 7 or three syllables bringing the final count to 8. Both can work, especially since this appears to be a closing. Ending on 7 instead of 8 could be an artistic decision to show "the close".

"The game is yours" he/she/it is handing over the reigns. He/she/it is bowing out, but handing the game to another. That other can be discerned from "To those who monitor and see". Both possibilities that I see are, in a way, the same possibility all things considered.

The game is yours Dr. Loomis... HALLOWEEN 6: THE CURSE OF MICHAEL MYERS HOUSE CONFIRMED!!

Based off the four codenames given and if they do point to one of the four houses still being a go I looked at it this way (probably completely wrong)

    IT

Poison: the poisoning of the town of Derry.

    Snacks: Eats kids as snacks

Surprise: Surprises the kids in the form of their deepest fears

Dynamite: ??? (I really couldn't come up with anything for this one)

Again, just blowing smoke as I am probably way off and it seems too easy, but tried my best.... CARRY ON

I make that I'm being intentionally vague and this comment came from someone who hasn't really been paying attention to what I've been saying. I've not said anything is happening "after all."

    And "funny" doesn't mean false.

Is the Jungleskip guy on the IU page a reputable source? Seems like he is sure IT is gone.....

that being said, I'm done speculating and getting my hopes up. It's not worth getting worked up about. Gonna sit back and enjoy the ride and wait and see what happens... either way, I'm sure it'll turn out great.

    Some interesting posts on IU:

    horrornights789:

"So… I may be reading into everything wrong but it sounds like IT is a no and Lost Boys isn’t happening. Not sure if I can ask but does The Conjuring have a better shot of coming this year? There’s been a lot of discussion about it lately"

    @Legacy:

"You name two of the four I was told. I'll answer that way."

Holy shit... so I think this means that

    IT

    Lost Boys

    The Conjuring

2/3 of these were false rumors

    shit's getting real

So then what do you make of this?

Just checked up on Orlando and it looks like they might be getting IT after all! Looks like it might have been a false rumour, "Leatherface" type deal. Happy for them, and relief for us!

    @Legacy on IU:

"What's the popularly assumed list right now?

    Stranger Things (Confirmed)
    IT
    The Thing
    Trick R Treat
    Halloween
    The Lost Boys

Then Nightmare on Elm Street, Conjuring, and Alien keep flittering about the edges?

Of those nine, I was told four that aren't happening."

I mentioned that he left out AHS and he admitted he forgot it, but still four out of the ten are confirmed to not be coming, meaning AHS is not one of those four.

God, please let it be that they were just fucking with us about IT not coming... Please lord.....

Holy shit. @Legacy just said over on IU:

"A&D knows they have a leaker. More importantly, they seem to know who it is.

HHN requires a LOT of freelance design work. My hunch is that most leaks are coming from one of them. They're not coming from an inner-circle.

For a couple years, "false rumors" have been alluded to as something to be wary of. Nothing ever really came of it. What we knew was what we got. It's different this year. My source (MY source, not third/fourth hand whispers) opened up on a couple of things. The biggest though, was acknowledging efforts to confuse the fans/complicate the leaks.

Then they told me the houses we're not getting."

And y'all thought the house spec was dumb, now we're gonna be guessing which houses we WON'T get

(btw my guesses are that TrT, Thing, Lost Boys, and maybe AHS are out, and that we're getting IT.)
