London might be out for HHN similar to Seuss landing is/was. JK Rowling/WB May not like it.

The main London land from King’s Cross to the old Amity bathrooms is clearly not allowed to House a zone, as it would disturb the theming of the area.

However, the waterfront path that features no Harry Potter or even London theming seems to be more of a gray area as to whether they can place a zone there, but I think it’d be fine as it isn’t really part of the London theme, it’s more of a bypass path.

I have a feeling they don’t want big elaborate sets around there due to the new nighttime show. That doesn’t mean they don’t have something planned for there (thinking of the undead clown chainsaw gang from last year). We haven’t had the chainsaw drill team announced yet so might fit in that area again.

Oh yeah...I could see that for the area around F&F but London waterfront and FFL aren't close enough to the lagoon show for that to be a problem.

Lost continent does not need replacing, it, especially the Greek section is the best area in all of universal.

    Theming wise

(gif of American psycho “maybe...I don’t know)

    but attraction wise...

But does leave the park very lopsided in terms of scarezones, as currently there’s nothing from San Fran all the way round to Central Park. Appreciate there’s issues with using London, etc. but does look very bare at the moment. Unless they have something else up their sleeves?

This year’s scarezones are gonna feel like that, but for various reasons I think it’ll be better during 29:

    1. Universal now knows that everyone hates F&F so A&D (or whoever is in charge of zone planning)’ll be able to put a zone in front of it.

    2. If FFL is closed by then the area in front wouldn’t have to worry about the show’s crowds.

    3. If this year’s zone management feels lopsided they might finally try to use the London waterfront bypass path, a perfect place for a zone that could actually feature a set.

Soooo those letters, do look very similar to 25? Just with a different hue in colors on them!

    Who was 25’s icon again?

  4. This looks great, seems to combine the huge scope and great details of Dead Waters with some more experimentally open ideas. Might not be the scariest, but this sounds like it’ll have an atmosphere you can slice with a knife.

Name’s a bit generic honestly, I was hoping for something other than literally “Carnival Graveyard,” and the trailer is tied with TrT for the weakest, but those two things have no real influence on the house’s quality.

Looking forward to this one, but not sure where to put it on my hype list at the moment.

I just keep hoping we get a surprised like last year, everyone was saying the mazes were going to be one way and then Murdy came out with a Titans of Terror annout which nobody speculated, at least to my knowledge so it was a nice surprise

Well, to my knowledge, ToT wasn’t a surprise as much as it was a quick overlay after they lost The Conjuring, akin to Orlando’s The Hive.

To be fair,  TWD was a maze for 4  years in a row, then a permanent attraction :chainsaw:, plus it was Terror Tram & a scarezone for 3 years in a row. :zombie_attack:

    3. I hope so. This sounds like a really good house, and I don't want the location it's going in to be what ruins it.

Well, for example, last year most felt that Dead Waters was felt “too short,” and that was in...a soundstage.

I see where you’re coming from, but location doesn’t affect a house nearly as much as you would think.

So you got people saying it'll go in Sprung 2, then you have people saying it'll be in the new parade building, then you got me and a couple of my friends saying it'll go in the Shrek theater.

Pretty sure @Legacy said it’ll be in a sprung.

No, Orlando ruined it for everyone when they made TWD sh*t all over 2013's event by vomiting it all over the park. Hollywood made it worse by replacing a GOOD walk-through 3-level attraction with a underwhelming generic 1 level walk-through attraction. Orlando is all talk when they don't have to see an IP year round, but you'd all change your tune if TWD was permanently in the park.

    I was...ah...nevermind.

Halloween 3 and 4. Because 80's and consecutive numbers. And because we lose IP's.

So it was initially planned? What caused it to fall through?

Halloween 4? What in any way makes this 4? 2nd film in this timeline... 3 reboot... 3rd house at HHN...

    No...like...Halloween 4...not that one.

How about no? Like seriously, where in the hell? We've had a permanent Walking Dead attraction in the park since July 4th, 2016. It has been included in the maze (house) line-up ever since.

There’s always gonna be that one Walking Dead hater that ruins it for everyone.

My heart is racing at the thought of The First Purge coming EXCLUSIVELY to Hollywood HHN!!

Half a dozen scarezones just wasn't good enough, nor was a Blumhouse maze.

This franchise needs - NO - DESERVES to be the spotlight attraction for HHN-H.

Now, if they would just push that dumb Stranger Things out of a soundstage and let the REAL STAR of HHN use that glorious soundstage, all of my HHN prayers would be answered.

    You're buying that, right?

I mean, I must be sounding pretty damn sincere.

Purge, and all.  It's made like a bajillion dollars, so clearly it's an excellent choice for HHN, right?

    Well then...

THANK GOD Murdy is giving us The Purge (again) rather than some insipid "original house" crap.  I mean, sure, I could go all the way to Orlando and go into houses that are probably no better than Scarecrow or Dead Waters, but why?  Why would I want to go into some "original content" house where I have no idea what to expect, only to be totally confused and bored, when I can instead to into the world of the Purge (again).  So much better to know exactly what I will see and in the order I will see it - even before even entering the house!   Hell, Murdy is even great enough to give me TRIGGER WARNINGS before I get too frightened.  Here comes a black hallway - tighten up that ole' sphincter, cause it's about to rain some serious SCARY!!  Universal Hollywood is the freakin' HOME of the horror movie, and what better classic than The Freakin' PURGE!?!?

Mr. Murdy, I am SO GLAD you fought tooth and nail to bring us The Purge - AGAIN!  I'm hoping you shove this down our collective gullets again and again until we DIE!

    giphy.gif

    MORE PURGE, THAT IS!!!

Because with this latest maze announcement, HHN Hollywood is, like, SO MUCH BETTER than Orlando, riiiiiiiiight?

I am kinda surprised that Murdy is reusing the exact same facade two years in a row despite all the complaints of cheaping out last year (black hallways everywhere, exact same TCM scares seen in Titans of Terror and Terror Tram)

More money he can use on houses-er, mazes-I guess.

I found this funny connection between the last instance of the Carey Drive-In and the new one. Check out 6:06 to see a familiar code-name. The other board seemed to hate this post, so feel free to pile on and tell me there is ABSOLUTELY NO CONNECTION and that I am a BAD DOG. A very bad dog. Lack of announcements really makes people punchy, huh? :)

If anything, I think that it’s possible that the codename was a reference to the zone.
