  1. I remember someone saying we're going to see a leader of the evil carnies at the beginning and end of the house... Can anyone confirm this?
  2. Question: Since there's no Stay-N-Scream at Hello Kitty this year, where will the third one be? Diagon Alley? Because this is what I imagined: Finnegan's --> Stranger Things Diagon Alley --> The Horrors of Blumhouse Springfield --> Slaughter Sinema/Dead Exposure: Patient Zero

  6. Once again, better late than ever! Let's get to it, chop, chop! (Also, since I had Frequent Fear this time, I was able to go 12 nights, so no more memory-luck! Yay!) Houses #1 - Halloween: Hell Comes To Haddonfield - A terrifying, fun, and creepy house! Having Michael Myers around every single corner was the best part of this house (And of course Dumpster Diver Myers). A grand house. #2 - Krampus - A very underrated house. The sets were beautiful, quite a few good scares in there, and the Gingerbread room. I do agree that the elves got a little repetitive, and there wasn't any real Krampus in there, but the Pros beat them out. A great house. #3 - American Horror Story - A long and solid house. Couple of good scares in there, FANTASTIC sets, and great fun! Only problem was that it felt it was a lot longer than it needed to be. Other than that, really good house. #4 - The Texas Chain Saw Massacre - A terrifying and fun house. It literally felt like you were walking through the original movie. One thing that helped was the fact that I am terrified of Leatherface and his bloody chainsaw. #5 - Tomb of the Ancients - This house was pretty good. Dark, claustrophobic, a few good scares, and a GAT! Only problem was most of the scares weren't that good, and the story really wasn't that interesting. #6 - Ghost Town: The Curse of Lightning Gulch - A fun and entertaining house. Probably one of the greatest sets HHN has done. However, it suffered a big problem: Horrible scares. There were only two good scares in this house, while the others could be seen coming from a mile away. Other than that, a really good house with hilarious phrases, and it was a Wild West theme! #7 - The Walking Dead - Eh. A mediocre house. Nothing but Walkers, and it was just a montage of 5 years of TWD. However, it was a pretty good send-off to these houses. #8 - Lunatic's Playground 3D: You Won't Stand A Chance - GASP! Lunatic's Playground isn't at the bottom of my list?! You've read this right. Lunatic's Playground, while it was a really bad house, was saved on the last two nights when the cast picked up all of their energy and guest interaction. On the last night, they delivered good scares and fun interactions. Still a bad house, but saved by the interactive cast inside. #9 - The Exorcist - A horrible house. No good sets, not a single good scare, no memorable scenes, and way too many plastic dummies. From the 12 nights I went, I only did this house three times. Scare Zones #1 - Survive or Die: Apocalypse - A fun zone that was a blast to be in. So much fun to interact with either of the groups. The moment that landed this as my #1 zone is when the team trying to take the machine had me lead the charge and they were all rooting me on. It will forever be a good memory. #2 - A Chance in Hell - Holy hell, such a fun zone! The actors were so much fun to interact with, and of course Chance! While the actress playing her wasn't anywhere near as good as Cline, she still did such a fantastic job! #3 - Vamp '55 - What a fun zone! Once again, the actors are so much fun to interact with. One of them even followed me across the zone to give detention to one of my friends I told her about! #4 - Dead Man's Wharf - A mediocre zone. Story wasn't interesting, and the actors didn't do anything. #5 - Lair of the Banshee - Why. Just why? This was a horrible zone, no questions asked. Shows Bill & Ted's Excellent Halloween Adventure - 2.5/5 - Such a bad way to celebrate the 25th anniversary of these two most excellent dudes. Unfunny jokes, horrible script, and an unfunny villain. Academy of Villains: House of Fear - 5/5 - A wonderful and fun show! So much energy, and so much fun! A great way to introduce these guys and gals to HHN. Hope ya enjoyed!
  7. Yup, that's what I'm talking about.
  8. iBetter late than ever with this review! This was my first year at HHN, and I only went two nights, so a lot of this is based on memory solely. Without further ado, let's jump in. Houses #1 - Jack Presents 25 Years of Monsters & Mayhem - What a long and incredible house! Great scares, great sets, and a lot of references to old houses! Plus, the room at the end that both terrifies you and gives you a quick history on Jack! This was hands-down the best house of 2015. #2 - Body Collectors: Recollections - A fun and scary house. Beautiful façade, cool costume design, and great make-up! This probably could've been best house of the year if it had gotten its own soundstage, rather than having to share with FvJ. #3 - Freddy Vs. Jason - A fun and exciting house. Quite some interactivity with the Freddy's, and just watching the two of these horror icons beat the crap out of each other while still being hunted by them. Same problem with Body Collectors, probably would've been a lot better if it got its own soundstage. #4 - Asylum in Wonderland 3D - Before you start getting mad because I have this house ranked so high, there's a reason to it: This was my very first HHN house. Because of this, it holds a special place in me. Lots of fun and goofy sets, fun interactivity with the actors, and the first Shrek house! #5 - Insidious - Pretty good house. Cool set design and some good scares. Only problem was that most of the scares really didn't hit with me. Best scene was definitely the final hallway with the fans touching you. #6 - The Purge - Eh, I give this house the benefit of the doubt since it had to be put together at the very last minute. I got some good scares in here, though. If everything had gone to plan and this stayed as Scream, it probably could've been the 2nd or 3rd best house. #7 - An American Werewolf in London - Even though I hadn't gone through the 2013 house, I felt this house wasn't that good. The scares didn't really hit, sets weren't the best, and it felt really short to me. Only good thing was how realistic the puppets were. Other than that, pretty lackluster house, and makes me think the 2013 one might've been overrated. #8 - RUN: Blood, Sweat, and Fears - Another eh house. This house was fun, and interesting in the concept of it... But it was executed badly. Really only one good scare in here, and completely lacking in good sets. #9 - The Walking Dead: The Living and The Dead - Remains to this day as my worst house of all time. Not a SINGLE good scare in here, no impressive set design, the horrible pool scene, and the DJ room at the end. Such a horrible house. Scare Zones #1 - Psychoscareapy: Unleashed - Holy crap this zone was so much fun to hang out in. So much fun interactivity with the actors, good scares, and it was Psychoscareapy! #2 - Icons: HHN - Another fun scare zone. The Icons were so much fun to talk to, and their mini-shows were fun to watch! Only bad part was that The Usher's was really the only good mini-show, while the others were pretty underwhelming. Other than that, an incredible zone. #3 - All Nite Die-In: Double Feature - Yet another fun zone! So much fun to talk to the actors in here, and see the different horror characters! Plus, this is the spot of the fastest I've ever ran, when two Purgers chased me through the zone with their chainsaws. Terrifying and awesome. #4 - Scary Tales: Screampunk - A good zone. Not that big, not too many props, but it was cool to see fairytale characters all bloody and insane. #5 - Evil Roots - I still don't get to this day what all the big hype around this zone was. It was just your typical Central Park overgrown, mother-nature zone. Shows The Carnage Returns - 4/5 - A funny, entertaining, and bloody show. Only problem was of how much it relied on the audience screaming what Jack says. Bill & Ted's Excellent Halloween Adventure - 4/5 - A funny and entertaining show. Kanye West was a hilarious villain, and time travel! Hope you enjoyed this 3-year late review!
  9. I thought last year was gonna be perfect until I did HoB and Ash. 1. Scarecrow: The Reaping 2. Dead Waters 3. The Shining 4. The Fallen 5. Saw: The Games of Jigsaw 6. Hive 7. American Horror Story 8. The Horrors of Blumhouse 9. Ash Vs. Evil Dead
  10. Just to clarify, this is our map right? Stranger Things - Entrance in front of music plaza, goes into Soundstage 22 Carnival Graveyard: Rust in Pieces - Entrance at Fallon entrance, goes into Soundstage 24B Scary Tales: Deadly Ever After - Entrance at Metropolis Tribute, goes into Soundstage 24A Poltergeist - Entrance at end of street, goes into Soundstage 25 The Horrors of Blumhouse - Entrance at service gate, goes into Tent 3 Slaughter Sinema - Entrance next to MIB store, goes into Sprung Tent 2 Dead Exposure: Patient Zero - Entrance next to Coke store, goes into Sprung Tent 1 Seeds of Extinction - Entrance by Animal Actors, goes into New Parade Building (or whatever it's being called) Trick 'r Treat - Entrance by E.T., goes into Parade Building Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers - Next to Hello Kitty, goes into Shrek 4D Theater 2
  11. Alright, so now that we have our official map... Why are some of the locations different? -No Entrance by Despicable Me -Two Entrances in Fallon Area -Vamp '85 is the single street rather than it expanding out into other streets
  12. Hm. Here's to hope Academy of Villains can keep such a big audience for a 30-minute show the whole event...
  13. I meant do it as a small part of the show, since the pop-culture parodies is what made Bill & Ted so popular and attracted people into the theater every night. I'd be surprised if they didn't.
  14. The new description mentions a few entertaining surprises along the way... Maybe some hope for a pop culture parody section? Cause I doubt they could do an entire 30-minute show of just dancing and neon lights in that large of a venue.
  15. Wait a sec... John Murdy said the reason they're doing H4 is because they're going to represent ALL of the Halloween movies... So... Does that mean... Halloween - HHN 24 Halloween: Hell Comes To Haddonfield - HHN 26 Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers - HHN 28 Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers - HHN 30 Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers - HHN 32 Halloween H20: 20 Years Later - HHN 34 Halloween: Resurrection - HHN 36 Halloween 2007 - HHN 38 Halloween II 2009 - HHN 40 Halloween 2018 - HHN 42
  16. Houses #1 - Slaughter Sinema I LOVE comedy houses. Why? Because they always (well, almost always) are hilarious and amusing while also having some pretty good scares! Asylum in Wonderland 3D and Krampus are perfect examples of this: Houses with good comedy as well as good scares. Plus, this is going to have a cheesy horror film theme, and I love B-movies. Plus the fact that this is going in one of the sprung tents makes it even better! My only concern is that this could be the house with a really good concept, but executed horribly. #2 - Carnival Graveyard: Rust in Pieces I've always had an obsession with abandoned theme park attractions. I love watching urban exploration videos of Six Flags New Orleans, River Country, and Triceratops Encounter. The fact that we're going through a junkyard full of abandoned carnival attractions with evil clowns hunting us down gives me chills at just the thought of it. Plus the fact that this house is looking to be our unofficial Icon house (kinda like Dead Waters last year) gets me even more excited. Plus the fact that Jack and Chance will probably make cameos in here. #3 - Scary Tales: Deadly Ever After I've never been able to go through any Scary Tales house. My only experience with it was the scare zone from 2015 (which was a pretty bad zone). But... I've heard how all of the Scary Tales houses have been incredible in both scares and sets. And now that I've read up on the backstory for Scary Tales and that this will be the 3rd sequel, this house has me intrigued. If I hadn't heard about how good the previous houses were, this would probably be at the bottom of my list. #4 - Stranger Things I love this show. I love the references to the 80's, I love the humor, I love everything about it! As soon as I heard that the characters were going to be making appearances in this house (Barb, Eleven, HOPPER!!!), I got completely hyped. My main concern with this house is that the Demogorgon is overused. #5 - Trick 'r Treat I watched Trick 'r Treat when the scare zone was announced last year, and thought it was a really good Halloween movie. Sam was awesome, the characters were fun, and the kills were pretty fun! However, there's only one problem with this house... We just had it as a scare zone. The scare zone was really good, but I want to wait a bit before experiencing Trick 'r Treat again. Otherwise, pretty excited for this house. #6 - Dead Exposure: Patient Zero This house sounds absolutely terrifying. However, I only have two problems with it... 1. It'll be pitch black. While that is a big part of the house, I would like to see the sets. 2. Zombies. Ugh. #7 - Seeds of Extinction I can see this being one of the best houses of the year, or one of the worst of the year. My big problem is that this sounds like a Central Park scare zone except if it became a house. Plus the fact that most of the sets will probably just be mutant vegetation, which I don't find scary. #8 - Poltergeist I just finished watching this movie recently, and I loved it. It was really creepy, the comedy was good, and the effects were pretty cool. But, there's only one problem... How the hell is this going to be transformed into a house?! There's not too many scares they can use other than The Beast and some false scares with the chairs... Pretty worried about this one. #9 - Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers I loved the Halloween house in 2016, it was hands-down the best house that year. However... The 4th movie is awful. Just awful. Nothing but guns and lame jump scares. Plus it'll probably be the exact same as it was in 2016, except smaller. We shall see. #10 - The Horrors of Blumhouse: Part Two Do I even need to say anything about this? Scare Zones #1 - Killer Klownz from Outer Space The movie is a classic. It's goofy, it's funny, and a little creepy. Can't wait to see it as a scare zone and talk to the Klownz. #2 - Vamp '85: New Year's Eve The scare zone in 2016 was so much fun. How interactive it was, how funny it was, yes!!! Can't wait to see it in New York. #3 - The Harvest It's Scarecrow except as a scare zone. This can maybe a decent zone, but we'll see. #4 - Twisted Traditions It's Trick 'r Treat, but it's not Trick 'r Treat. #5 - Revenge of Chucky
  17. So it's going in the Shrek theater, huh? None of the houses inside Shrek have let me down so far, so let's hope this continues it! (Yes, I think Asylum 3D and Krampus were good houses. Heck, Krampus was my #2 in 2016!)
  18. Fast & Furious tent, next to the building, maybe around where the façade for the Disaster Queue houses were?
  19. If you think about it... They could do 13 houses. Think about it! Very front (AHS) - Soundstage 21 Left side of stage (Shining) - Soundstage 22 Right side of stage (Ghost Town 2016) - Soundstage 23 Fallon (Fallen) - Soundstage 24B End of street (Dead Waters) - Soundstage 24A Behind Fast & Furious/Slow & Boring - New Tent Next to MIB (Blumhouse) - Tent 3 Next to MIB Shop (Hive) - Sprung Tent 2 Next to Cola (Scarecrow) - Sprung Tent 1 Gate next to Kwik-E-Mart - New Tent Next to Animal Actors - New Parade Building Next to E.T. (Ash) - OG Parade Building Shrek (Saw) - Shrek 4D Theater 2
  20. So I guess the headline is "More Houses Than Ever"..?
  21. Soundstage 25, correct?
  22. Black hallways with computer screens in them, and a ghost Laura coming out at you!
  23. Da Newly Blablabla Speculation Map Stranger Things - Soundstage 22 Poltergeist - Soundstage 25 Carnival Graveyard: Rust in Pieces - Soundstage 24B Slaughter Sinema - Sprung Tent 2 Dead Exposure: Patient Zero - Sprung Tent 1 Seeds of Extinction - New Parade Building Trick 'r Treat - OG Parade Building Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers - Shrek 4D Theater 2
  24. HDD was actually pretty good, I was hoping they'd make it its own house, but NOPE.
  25. This goes in the new Parade Building, correct?
