  1. I'm not crazy about the source but I don't think it's fabricated. http://behinduniversalstudios.com/2012/more-hhn-permits/
  2. I just read an article about new permits being filed and there was something about Sprung Review. Is that the Review of Sprung #1 or what? I'm not an architect and I have no clue how to read these filings.
  3. If Shrek, Jimmy Neutron and E.T. were open in 2006 and 2007 and The Simpsons has been for every subsequent year than Despicable Me will be open in 2012.
  4. I completely agree. I think these forced transitions are healthy for the event and the true transition years in general have brought a lot to the event. 2000, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2008 were all transition years and you hear those years thrown around a lot on people's favorites or have shaped the event in a serious way. You can argue that every year has some transitions, but those years have hard, discernible transitions.
  5. I was merely throwing around suggestions, any lightly used venue is on the table.
  6. Universal has used a restaurant as a house location, used multiple attractions, and outdoor areas. If they made houses work in Thunderfalls Terrace, Discovery Center, Poseidon's Fury, and The Bone Yard than it's completely plausible for one to be used in Cafe La Bamba or Monster's Cafe.
  7. They knew of the parade route while planning. Sting Alley is locked in.
  8. A serious issue is that we tend to not look at things from the stand point of the share holders or investors. When you look at things that way you can really see the logic behind what they're doing. The deconstruction of SS44 isn't some irrational act against HHN, but a completely rational business investment. It sucks looking at things financially, it can even suck the "fun" out of speculation, but when people start to do look at it that way things become a lot less cloudy. They're not going to shut their new parade down. My theory is that we can expect props to be rolled into place every night before the event and for them to be the sort of prop that is easy for multiple trained technicians to move but hard for 3 or 4 drunken guys to move. On that note, I think it's also safe to say that we won't see these props until we're ridiculously close to opening night. The scarezones (barring they stay in the same locale) in Central Park, Kidzone, Disaster, and Shrek Alley (barring that happens due to SS44) will have stationary props. Expect the zones in New York and Hollywood to have props rolled out.
  9. I assure you Universal Creative knew about Halloween Horror Nights and knew a house was going in that location. This isn't on Universal Creative, my guess is that Creative was given the green-light on a Blue-Sky project that they more than likely never expected to get into fruition. Comcast more than likely wanted an intermediate attraction for before the Jaws replacement and gave this the go-ahead last minute and just came up with a time-table. Ultimately, an attraction will churn more profit than a haunted house and when you look at it from that perspective it makes sense to do it now instead of later. The event will survive, and I'm sure it will be great this year. At the end of the day, we'll all go and most of us will enjoy it. Universal knows that HHN turns enough profit annually to keep it around, but they also know that it's a seasonal event and is only around for 6 weeks.
  10. They'll do something because they'll have to. I'm kind of excited, it's going to really make them have to think and come up with new ideas, and that isn't necessarily a bad thing, especially since they've been using the same formula for quite some time.
  11. For sure will be there the 21st and 22nd. Other days will come as they happen.
  12. He is however known for Ambulances and Alligators. Dr. Jimmy is a really good friend of mine but he is just a fan, albeit a big one. He might or might not get a leak here or a leak there but I highly doubt he knows exponentially more than any of us. Just keep in mind that until Art and Design says something all of it is just rumors.
  13. Orlando United wrote a new HHN Fireside Chat if you're interested. http://orlandounited.com/2012/06/10/halloween-horror-nights-fireside-chat/
  14. If you went to 18 and any subsequent years and that wasn't your favorite you probably just have bad taste.

  17. It didn't cross my mind till I had 4 pairs and was like "Herp derp, I'm going to put on 4." and then me and all my friends did and it was AWESOME.
  18. It's a shame I didn't discover 6-D until last night, but I must say that if you didn't experience The In Between with 4 pairs of glasses on you didn't experience The In Between.
  19. "¿Que Hora Es Big Bird?" y "Por favor, mantenganse allejado de las puertas."
  20. I have to give a huge shout out to Miguel who happens to be one of the most clever conquistadors in the house. I love our nonsensical spouts involving "Por favor, mantenganse allejado de las puertas." y "Que Horas Es Big Bird?"
  21. Usually dead and with Halloween being a Monday this year.... Here's to hoping Lady Luck is with us for the rest of the day and the rain has finally broken.
  22. I straight lol'd at that. Great review.
  23. Jack's name is written on a toy box in the final scene of H.R.
