  2. I will be attending the UTH tour on September 22 at 1:30pm
  3. This is perfect. I just bought a Nikon D5100 last month and I would love to learn how to use it to its full potential. Count me in!
  4. I watched The Walking Dead marathon this past weekend but didn't pay too much attention to the commercials. I didn't see anything that mentioned HHN. Does anybody know how Universal will make the official announcement of TWD house?
  5. September 21 and 22 with a Nightmares shirt.
  6. Tom Cruise is playing a rock artist named Stacee Jaxx in a movie called Rock of Ages that comes out on June 15. It looks like an easy parody of a Tom Cruise character in this years Bill and Ted show.
  7. Why do I always seem to find the cheaper gas station after I fill up my tank?

  8. Regardless what happens between now and HHN, I'd like to see PIPA and SOPA as the plot in this years Bill and Ted. They'd have to recruit people to help and there could be jokes about certain characters not being allowed. Don't worry, they will put a stop to it, and in a half hour!
  9. I checked this out yesterday and thought it was great. The museum had a lot of good stuff, too. You would need to start on the fourth floor and work your way down to follow chronological order, but I thought everything was put together very well.
  10. So I wore my HNN shirt yesterday at Universal and received at least four different comments.

      Hopefully all good! :)

Three out of four were good comments; one person called me a dork, but oh well, who cares. I thought it was cool that another comment (positive) came from a park guest.

same here. i wore mine to Uni last Saturday, and while waiting for Grinchmas to start, the people behind me were talking about the houses/SZ's :D

  11. I'm just wondering if anybody actually complained to guest services. I called and complained (on the 14th) about a security guard who was rude to me on the 13th and then somebody actually called me back to apologize this afternoon (the 15th). Anyway, long story short, the lady from guest services apologized for security being uptight this year. She actually said "we have so many minors that attend this event and they always have to watch for alcohol and other things. You know, with the Orlando Police and Florida being a pill mill state it's hard for somebody to even come here with two Advil. I guess that's why security is so uptight this year."
  12. Last year I had no problem getting a photo with the actors who played Bill and Ted. On opening night this year I had no problem. However, it seems that since opening weekend it has been impossible. On one night I tried right after a show that was midway through the night, and I can totally understand that they have to prepare for the next one. Another time, I waited outside after the last show and the security guard kicked me out. Does anybody know when the actors make an appearance; lately it has been hit or miss.
  13. I saw two of the three shows, but I honestly have no intention of seeing the third. What's upsetting about it, in my opinion, is when they drum to a song with the vocals in it. I don't mind when they drum to the beat of a song that everybody knows, i.e. Thriller, but what's the point of them banging a drum while your listening to Rihanna's song S&M? I have respect for those drummers because it's not an easy thing to do, but it almost cheapens the effect when you're listening to a song and not enjoying only the sounds of the drumming.
  14. After reviewing the work schedule, I can now say with certainty that my wife and I will be there on Thursday, September 29.
  15. For those wanting to get the deck of cards, I have to start by telling you they are $10.95. Furthermore, none of the cards have any special designs, not even the Ace of spades. Basically, your getting cards in which the backing is black and has a Halloween Horror Nights 21 logo. I did what I call the "shuffle test". I shuffled them a few times and cut the deck. They are not so cheap that they will tear (such as the ripoff at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Tampa) but when you place the deck on the table you will notice they do bend a little bit. This bend is normal wear and tear when playing with cards. Overall, I'm slightly disappointed but not pissed off enough to tell people not to buy them; just don't expect to use them in a home game like I thought I would be able to.
  16. I love how the actors and actresses can do improv at any given time. On the Saturday night 8:45 showing when Conan O'Brian the Barbarian was coming down the stairs he said "she just took a picture of me. Security. Oh never mind she deleted it. Don't do that again." He then continued to stick with his script. I thought that was hilarious.
  17. On opening night I RSVP'd for the annual passholder party and was admitted into the park at 5:00pm. The Forsaken: When I went in it was just 5:00 and my eyes didn't adjust. I couldn't see anything and eventually went back later in the night. I thought the sets were great, but I do agree with others that the glowing green eyes do ruin some scares. I was surprised at how the floor was angled when going through the ship towards the end. The In Between: I thought this 3D house was better than all the previous 3D houses that I've done. I love the vortex tunnel in the beginning of the house and it's always funny to watch/hear other peoples reactions when going through this room. The rune room was good and I actually got startled when leaving that room. When I went through the room with the colored yarn, I saw two different scareactors standing in their positions without moving or making any attempt to scare anybody. I thought they might be resetting and were going to jump out at people behind me, but they never did. When I went through again on Saturday, it was the same experience. The laser room was a neat effect and it wasn't until my second visit that a character actually jumped out at the end of the room. I thought the exit was pretty interesting how you left the dimension and came back through another dorm room. Nevermore: Throughout both nights I only went through this one once, but it was still great. The downside is that when going through the tell-tale heart room, I could only hear the heart beating sound effect and could not see the set design. I wasn't too upset because I've seen the room through the twitter and facebook posts but I hope to see it for myself on my next visit (if you're wondering how I couldn't see it, I'm blaming it on my eyes not adjusting; it was about 5:45). I enjoyed the hallway with the ravens swooping down at you and thought that scare technique worked well with the sound effects. The pendulum in the Pit and the Pendulum room was a neat effect but I didn't have any scareactors jump out at me (yet again, this emphasizes why you must do houses several times). I like the experience of the ballroom in the Masque of Red Death room: you see all these characters dancing and you know one, if not more, are real and you have no clue which one will jump out at you. I'll have to experience this house again, as it seemed that I didn't receive that many scares. Saws & Steam: Into the Machine: This house was great and the set design was excellent: if for whatever reason nobody scared you at all, you would be perfectly happy looking at all the props and sets. I especially loved the fish tanks with fingers and flesh floating around. I thought the casts were highly energetic and performed their scares well (Friday was about 6:30 and I don't know when on Saturday; but I'm going to go on the assumption that I saw both Cast A and B throughout the weekend). Bill and Ted: I was going to see the 7:30 show on Friday, but they cancelled it due to rain. It was horrible outside. There were long flashes of lightening and loud thunder. I stayed in the auditorium all the way until the next show at 8:45. I thought the show was much better than last years, but it felt weird because I barely saw anything that they did a parody of: (I'm NOT blaming anybody but me, I live under a rock and don't get to see many movies in theaters. But at least I knew what they were making fun of). H.R. Bloodengutz: I saw that the sign stated a 30 minute wait but it looked incredibly long and after standing in line for almost 5 minutes without moving I decided to get out of line and get back in the express line (I try not to use express on short wait times, but I figured what the hell). The themes were done real well. If you didn't hear on the different television sets what movie was about to be playing, you would know what it was based on the sets and costumes. I actually thought the giant grass covered creature was scarier than the Feaster Bunny. I'll admit, he got me good. The use of scents in the Thanks-killing room was very effective. The Thing: I liked the appearance of the animatronics, and surprisingly, I believe I saw every single one the first time through. The man with the shotgun at the end shooting the alien hanging from the ceiling was an excellent distraction for the scareactor in the corner. This house has me even more excited to see the movie coming out in a few weeks. Winter's Night: The temperature of the house worked well with the atmosphere. The weeping angel statues had, in my opinion, the best scares in that house. I was amazed at the detail that went into this house and I absolutely loved the effect of the zombie crawling out of his grave. Nightingales: The design of the trenches and the sound of the gunfire really immersed you into the environment. The appearance of the Nightingales was creepy and this house gave me the most scares. If you noticed, I tried not to use a ranking system in this review, but if I had to state my favorite house, this would be it. At this time, I'm not going to review the scare zones because I briefly walked through them. I don't want to judge anything based off of one 30 to 45 second experience. After more visits, I will come back and edit this post.
  18. I have had a few instances of "hurry up" over the years. My simple solution (and it would be great to get feedback from people who are ops) is to ignore them. Keep walking at your normal pace. All they can do is keep yelling, it's not like they can grab your arm and shove you forward. Just be cool about it: no cursing or shoving the ops. I highly doubt you'll get ejected from the park.
  19. After 1 year and 11 months I finally paid all my medical bills from the motorcyle accident!

  20. Vuducon was excellent tonight. I had a great time and can't wait for next years event. I can't wait until opening weekend.

  21. I stopped in Guest Services and they said they didn't have the lanyard in to sell to me yet, but apparently there will be two types. There will be a premier lanyard that cost $8.47. So you have a choice of two.
  22. Can you please put me down for October 23 with a hnn shirt? Thank you.
  23. I'm sure there will be a discount given to annual pass holders. And seeing how I am pretty likely to buy a hoodie, I'll take any discount I can get.
  24. Would it be possible to keep it on the 17th but put it after 9pm when Vuducon ends? I'm sure most people wouldn't mind attending two events in one day.
  25. I'm hoping to see an awesome optical illusion of the pit when you enter the Pit and the Pendulum room. The only reason I mention that is because I was thinking of the effect used in the Dead Silence house where you were walking on the catwalk and you could look down. In actuality, it was mirrors below you and items mounted on the ceiling above you.
