  1. The name of the album of Don't Fear the Reaper is "Agents of Fortune." Though the website looks less "fortune-teller"-ish and more "reaper"-ish though. Any speculation as to where the houses will be? AHS is in SS 21, Shining will probably be in SS 22, given what the facade of Bayou was hinted at, I'm guessing it's going to be SS 23. If I had to guess, Dust Bowl/Scarecrows and Blumhouse will be in sprung tents.
  2. The truth is that nothing is going to satisfy him. They could re-create 18 and he would still find something to complain about. I don't mean to be rude but complaining and pining for the "glory years" honestly seems to be his goal.
  3. Back in 2009, a user on the Vault (don't know if he's still here?) had this idea for the Grim Reaper as an icon. It sounded really good (though it did copy a lot of '08 concepts)--one of the scarezones was an evil version of Candyland.
  4. Glad to see FFP at the same price as last year. Truth be told, I would enjoy the Caretaker--any of the classic non-Jack or Jack associated icons.
  5. Yes yes yes. If anything the quality of house videos has gotten WAY better. There were many, many people that (at the time, at least) HATED 14-17, saying things pretty similar to the things he posts--"HHN used to be the best Halloween event but is now a sad shell of its former self!" was a statement I heard regularly as a lurker 10+ years ago. If the Vault were still around, it would be surprising to see how negative some of the reviews for those years were.
  6. ^Wasn't it the same actress that played Chance? That's really a shame, she was such a great character.
  7. Somewhat OT, but why was Mary never featured in the anniversary years? I can only assume 18 just wasn't profitable because A)--it took place during the brunt of the stock market crash, and B)--unlike 19, no IPs (not well known, at least--Doomsday doesn't count) to keep attendance afloat. Can anyone confirm this? Oh, and @ ThNdlzNiR: from what Manics posted on OU, it sounds like a Bayou maze (based off the scare zone from 24, correct?)
  8. I must agree that two Blumhouse mazes is ridiculous. I shall remain skeptical, though.
  9. Thinking of you. I think Dark Fortunes is far, FAR likelier to be the 3D maze. I just can't see a Scarecrow maze being 3D unless it's Wizard of Oz (and even then), which doesn't look likely. Is Scarecrows expected to be a scare zone-to-house adaptation? Admittedly, there's only three houses on that list that excite me (Shining, Gothic/Catacombs, Scarecrows), that leaves more time to do those houses repeatedly
  10. So reading your post on OU, are we getting both Thing and Blumhouse or just one of those? Is another original property supposed to be the other replacement? Or is there just one house being "replaced?" In case of Blumhouse, i've got some homework to do!
  11. Dark Fortunes? I would think with nine mazes they'd want to one of them to be a very cheap maze--which Lunatic's Playground clearly was (though I didn't go in it).
  12. Please please please let this be true! 4 originals (albeit the icon house will probably be pretty similar to Chance, which I didn't even bother with) plus the Shining = oh hell yes. Since the three years I went were 16, 18 and 26, can someone please describe Catacombs and Gothic to me, since they're being rumored? I've heard they were really good, so I want to know more...
  13. Midnight With the Stars and You could play at the exit--similar to Mr. Sandman in H2 last year.
  14. IDK where to find info on this, so feel free to move if in the wrong place, but does anyone know how much of a discount preferred annual pass gets on FFP? I remember last year the FFP post-tax being about $4 cheaper than the advertised price pre-tax. Hopefully they don't increase the price by another $8 this year like they have the last two years, given that it was only about a $2 increase each year prior. Thanks.
  15. As far as the bar/bathroom scenes go, would Grady be popping out from behind the stalls? The blood elevator, as previously mentioned, would probably be a projection. It'd be so awesome if they found a more creative way to do that, but yeah. Oh, and don't forget about the bear suit. While they couldn't include a certain implied part of that scene, that was to me the scariest scene in the movie.
  16. ^Wowzers, I don't necessarily agree or disagree (I like both the book and Kubrick version), but that's a rare opinion. Though, a reason I suggested some abstract portions was because of how the book explores Jack's troubles. It's funny and frustrating how there's so many great scenes from the movie and book that don't appear in the other. I suppose they can incorporate both, though obviously they'll use the film as the base. How would they do the wasps? The hedge lions would be really hard to pull off, even with strobes.
  17. ^Well yeah, I was just giving the highlights of my hypothetical Shining maze.
  18. ^I didn't get to experience Catacombs, but given that I loved TotA, I reckon it'd be up my alley. With The Shining, while I hope it wouldn't be the whole maze, I'd love for part of it to be somewhat abstract, specifically on Jack's inner turmoils--think of a hallway with "ALL WORK AND NO PLAY MAKES JACK A DULL BOY" projected everywhere (including misspellings) with the smell of alcohol pumped in, you can even have the sound of a baby crying (the night Jack broke Danny's arm--I know it wasn't shown in the Kubrick movie buuuut it was mentioned and like I said, abstract). Throw in a misty room of shower curtains the deformed old lady stalking you, a mirror trick scare with the twins, the obligatory catch phrase (do I need to say?) and the obvious hedge maze finale in a building kept at a cool temperature and wind blowing, and you'd have one heck of a house, IMO. Thoughts?
  19. See, what really POs me is that reviews on the Vault even during the era that CA is pining for were RELENTLESSLY negative. I went to 16, 18, and 26, and while 18 got great reviews, a lot of people HATED 16, as well as 14, 17 and yes, even 15. Point is, it's really hard for me to take this type of complaining seriously when people here and on the Vault when it existed have always complained about it. Anyways, we'll almost certainly see AHS again. I'd cry from joy if we got a FN@F maze, but it's not well known of a property. I would assume "Brains" means zombies and therefore TWD. Would not be surprised if Checkmate means Saw. None of those three likely mazes excite me, but the nice thing is that it frees up time to go through the mazes I like repeatedly. I ignored LP, WD and AHS last year and was able to go through GT, TCM and TotA multiple times. I saw Stranger Things mentioned at the beginning of this thread, wondering how they would do that since the main actors are kids? One scene could obviously be the room with the Christmas lights flashing and the Demagorgon reaching through the walls (with the Clash ominously blaring) but IDK how the rest could go.
  20. Is Crocolion at the very end? Both times I went through he did nothing.
