  1. They looked awesome from the walkthroughs JMR did through them. Can’t believe that sliding body scare from Frankenstein hasn’t been reused.
  2. Would the same apply to Hellraiser, since it's also owned by Dimension?
  3. Yep. My point about IPs still stands. The well has really dried up. Since they seem to have a good relationship with Netflix, as well as Dimension no longer being in...um...unsavory hands, might they take another stab at Scream?
  4. It took place in Shadybrook. It was a prequel to the PS houses. I like to imagine that the violence of the later inmates of Shadybrook was the result of the vengeful spirits of the victims of Recollections, and thus the Collectors are somewhat responsible for the events of the entire PS series. (THIS PART IS PURELY MY SPECULATION THEY DID NOT ACTUALLY SAY THIS.)
  5. Yeah next year's gonna be a lot of fun to speculate. Especially with the likelihood of more than four originals, as opposed to 25. Stranger Things 3 will very, VERY likely be an IP. Isn't All Nite D I E In kind of obsolete at this point? Also, Body Collectors 3 kind of showed the origins of Shadybrook. I'm listening to the soundtrack from Blood Thunder Alley from 15 and OMG it's awesome! I hope they do a similar zone with the same soundtrack and/or Demon Cantina house at 30. \m/ I had the idea for either a NG zone or open floor plan house taking place during the War of 1812. "Blood Splattered Banner" ----------------------------------------------------- I have several other ideas, but I'll stop before L gets mad at me.
  6. Yeah, definitely more technologically impressive (based off of POVs--never been to CA). Forbidden Journey deserves a mention too. All that said, Dinosaur is the closest thing Disney is ever going to have to HHN/HOS, unless they were to somehow bring back AE (I can dream, but THAT'S never going to happen). Anyway, I don't think this year is that interesting to speculate, at least until we know more about the originals. I see 29 re-using a lot of properties from 28 to make room in the budget for a big year at 30, as well as the fact that they're kind of in a desert IP-wise right now. Keeping my fingers crossed for at least one of Hellraiser and Hill House!
  7. Didn't get Day 1, but here's Days 2-5 of the timeline: Day 2: CO2 levels in the atmosphere rise at an exponential rate. Rapid change in temperature causes mammal and marine organisms to quickly die out. Subterranean bunkers and buildings hold the remaining endangered human population. Fresh water and shallow seas begin to turn green. Day 3: Abundant algae blooms in in ocean waters suffocating bottom dwellers and killing all coral. Deep roots structures seeking nutrients destroy the remaining human shelters. Global warming accelerates. Mass extinction on a global scale for all humanity... Day 4: Vegetation continues to flourish, mutate, and evolve. Global climate shift completed. Day 5: A few dwindling species of small reptiles, amphibians, and avian creatures remain and provide nutrients for the self aware plant life. Insects flourish. ------------------------------------------------------------ Given that some of this is a threat to happen, when combined with the Alien Covenant music I found this to be a really, REALLY scary opening.
  8. I too would love a sequel to Interstellar Terror. House that related to my fear of plane crashes (aviation disaster), which is one of my worst fears. The house made you want to get out ASAP, so the conga line actually HELPED make it scarier. So many cool effects: the exploding hallway, the electrocution, guy getting sucked out, mirror gorge, Roddy as captain ("I CARVED THESE INTO MY FACE!"). IT was such a criminally underrated house--it created a true sense of panic. Similar to Dinosaur, which isn't a very well-liked ride (honestly, despite how everyone talks about how they neutered it from its CTE form, Dr. Seeker's monologue was MUCH less urgent when it was CTE--so in at least one way, they actually made it more intense). My idea is for a crossover with In-Between at 30, though I think if they bring back In-Between they'll want to make it as cheap as possible IF the 13 houses for 30 rumor is true, and IT would likely make that too expensive.
  9. Unfortunately...I agreed with these two opinions. B&T at 26 was horrendously unfunny, and I thought TrT was a great zone and deserving of a house. There's not people all over social media asking for a FNAF house, are there? Of course, those who are considered "die-hard fans" today WERE the GP back then. So there's a chance that in 10 years, those who are considered "the GP" now become curmudgeonly die-hard fans who bemoan "these damn kids ruining the event." What was your review of the houses this year?
  10. I don’t think anyone saw Poltergeist coming until May. Again, how many properties last year were being thrown around as possibilities? It was a damn fake news hurricane LOL.
  11. Keeping fingers crossed for AT LEAST one of Hellraiser and Haunting of Hill House. Hoping they would be marketable enough. In the end, we admittedly don't know much. How many properties last year were "sure things?"
  12. I'm just saying, they don't have that many lucrative properties left thanks to Horror Made Here and Disney. I expect them to milk whatever they can out of the properties they have access to at this point.
  13. Currently, my IP prediction is: Stranger Things 2 Killer Klowns From Outer Space Chucky Happy Death Day 2U Horrors of Blumhouse 3 (Truth or Dare and Unfriended) Hopefully an adult IP--Hellraiser plz! I wonder if 2U could be a headlining IP if it does well. They traditionally have three "big" IPs on the marketing. This year it was ST, Poltergeist and H4. Last year it was AHS, Saw and Shining. ST2 and Chucky coming back would give them two. So would HDD2U qualify as a third?
  14. I know that each person on the creative team is in charge of one or two houses. I know Charles Gray was in charge of CG and David Hughes was in charge of SS. Does anyone have any info on who was in charge of which house by year? Just something that piqued my curiosity.
  15. I'm okay with completely cheaping out on two houses to put a lot of budget into the other eight.
  16. Would be down for all four of the properties featured in Die-In to get their own houses.
  17. Stranger Things. TBH, the actors deserved it from how many extra hours they had to work.
  18. Thanks for coming up with a term for it. So. Hoping we get some adult properties next year. Sucks that Haunting of Hill House likely won't be popular enough, and Hellraiser is a cult property. Seems like the common area between available, lucrative and adult is virtually gone at this point. :/
  19. Well, the only appearance of Mike Myers we've had on an odd year was unofficially, back in 2003.
  20. Stand out? Huh? Wouldn't that have the opposite effect? God, I'm so sick of having to dumb everything down to the younger crowds. SMDH.
  21. Havoc would be a good way for them to stretch the dough for 12 houses, no doubt. I think @DocNiktMarr's idea of a wide-open toy store house could be put to good use via Chucky. So my sort of prediction for five of the hypothetical six IPs would be: ST2 Killer Klowns Chucky "open floor" house HoB 3 (importation of Hollywood's from this year) Hellraiser
