I agree with your post Grimp0nd. It doesn't cost very much for them to think up a backstory for an icon. I was very disappointed in Fear last year too and honestly might not make the trip down next year if this year disappoints me as much as last year. Part of that is I think I had it built up in my mind that it was going to be the best year ever. I am keeping my expectations low this year. It's really hard to do from some of the things I've heard but feel it's best for me personally. I consider myself a diehard fan of HHN but I'm not willing to spend the thousands I spend every year to come down if I'm disappointed 2 years in a row. Having said all of that I honestly feel A&D knows the mistakes they made last year. I feel the mistakes will be corrected. Scarezones seem like there going to be special this year. Look for things you've never seen before in the scarezones. I'm not just talking the projections everyone is speculating on.Not that the SZ's weren't great last year but considering several of them were basically photo ops I feel they could be improved on. Some of the houses were good last year but others just lacked that it factor that I've come to love about HHN. Yes the facades and sets were amazing in the house's but they weren't nearly as scary as I would like. I have to think that the auto prompts will make up for some of the dead space in houses from last year. Having said all of that to me an icon ties the event together for me. He/She is what I want on a t-shirt, shot glass etc. I don't want just a photo op in an icon. I want someone who is somewhere in the event trying to scare the crap out of me. Afterall at it's core that's what HHN is about. Good scares and great sets are what keep me coming year after year, not photo ops.

I've known about the "traveling" show for a few days. It's a good idea. I am looking forward to it because it's something different.

I really think we're getting a crypt due to all of the clues. Weather or not it has to do with our icon is yet to be seen. I lean towards no because of some of the rumors but until the full site is revealed we won't know for sure.

I think the pic might be from the Columbus house or Crypt. Crypt would be the obvious choice. On a side not way off topic I just felt an earthquake here in Pa. Wow.

First of all I see your a new poster so welcome to HNN! but....... SS 22 - Deals with the cemetery/Lady Hawthorne house, the key game, and the light blue card. It could be an icon house, if there is an icon house. Rumors are leading me away from there even being an icon house. I don't have any inside info or anything, just what I'm thinking based on speculation. I think Legacy is right when he says the icon might be more of a mascot.

I don't think their going to replace a bunch of scareactors with the buttons but I do think there may be a button or two in every house and maybe 1 or 2 less scareactors in the house. The only reason I say this is because it's apparent they haven't hired as many people this year. The buttons or auto prompt scares could be used to mask the fact that there are less scareactors per house.

I think so. I believe last year they "tested" them out and this year you will see them in basically every house. It's a way to cut a scaractor or 2 in each house and we've all heard about them hiring less this year.

I guarantee that a Poe house will end up being scary. Without saying where the scripts go in the house there is no way to know how they fit into the overall feel of the house. It could just be scripts of his work in the first room then you go into the story's so to speak. Where did you see the scripts LuBell92? Were they inside the house or outside the house? If outside maybe there will be a script in each room basically telling the story of the scene your in at the moment.

I really hope Jeramy is wrong when it comes to projections in the streets instead of sets. I think that would seriously take away from the overall feel of the event. I like feeling like I'm immersed into an alternate reality. I don't see how they could possibly make us feel that we're somewhere else when we're looking at a glorified picture.

I don't think people realize how ruthless Columbus was. Your not really taught that (at least I wasn't) in school. It was only my love of history that lead me to find out about his true character.

I'm really hopeful for the streets to be the best we've ever seen this year. As for the house revolving around the ship I think the coin being from 1492 proves it will have something to do with Columbus. The Columbus clue though leads us to believe it will be about his 4th voyage in 1502. Columbus's ships came through fine but 500 crew members and a bunch of gold were lost at sea. I think were gonna find out what happened to the 500 men and the gold on their ships.

That would be logical but I'm not sure your right on that. I'm leaning towards another location(s) but I guess we'll both find out when all is revealed on Sept 1st. As for Bill&Ted I think the smurfs would be a good bet and I hope to see Macho Man Randy Savage as someone said earlier. I think Snookie would be a good bet too.

I really hope this ends up being a Poe house. It would make my wife a very happy girl. We all know when wives/girlfriends are happy we end up being happy. I enjoy his stories and own the entire collection on ibooks. Poe would be great.

Where exactly is this scaffolding? Is it where the bus stop normally is?

I really like seeing the SZ construction start so early. Like Dr. Jimmy said it gives me hope that the SZ's will be the most elaborate that have ever been. I expect them to take it to the next level this year.

I know they did it in Silver screams but pulling it off in one room would be much easier than a whole house in my opinion. It would be awesome if everything was done in black and white except the blood. It would make the blood pop so much more.

I think a house done in black and white or a sepia type color scheme would be cool. It would almost be art in my opinion. I doubt they would do it honestly but it's a good idea.

Yes I am too as well as the post above you. It's one of the changes that were made. I also have gotten a purple, dark blue, pink and brown instead of red. The gold card seems to always lead me to the tv game and the light blue to the crypt.

Yea I think we already talked about the tag line awhile back. As soon as I personally saw the tag line I thought it meant nobody beats the house and lives. It's kind of obvious to be honest with you.
