  1. Unfortunately, it looks like there is a good chance I may not be attending opening night anyways....so as far as pushing the time back, I'll update to 4pm on the starter post on this thread. That way anyone who has a call time of 4:30 can stop by before heading in for their shift.
  2. The pumpkins in Kids Zone, that makes me so very happy I'm a huge fan of traditional Halloween ambiance and these fit that idea to a tee. We are heading out to the parks tomorrow afternoon to check things out and see what we can see.
  3. Oh Ryan, we will make sure to that we have our "spirits" when you get in town...don't you worry my friend!!! (I'll pour one for myself and one for my homeys...my homeys being you)
  4. I had to laugh when I saw this picture because you are absolutely right! Whoever would've thought that a pillowcase with some holes cut in it would be more frightening than a maniac with knives on his fingers?
  5. I think back to the costumes that were available when I was younger (we're talking the 70's here) they were the ones with the plastic face masks that had just the openings for your eyes, nostrils and mouth...looking back, those were creepy as hell. I agree, the old costumes it looks like they'll be using in this area have an extra special "oh shit" factor to them!
  6. Kathy, we will definitely be seeing one another and wreaking havoc together.... I try to say "hello" to everyone who comes, which can be a challenge, but I attempt it. If you see me, please introduce yourself as I'd love to meet you!!! Kat, I've got my fingers and toes crossed that you will be there!!!
  7. Fog was the theme....LOL To this day I am still completely in love with the original Midway of the Bizarre. So much fog it took you forever to walk through Amity simply because you couldn't see your hand in front of your face and you could hear the screams of guests the entire way across the lagoon.
  8. I'm the same way, traditional Halloween has always appealed to me. Give me jack-o-lanterns, trick or treaters, ghosts, grave stones, witches, black cats and the like and I'm a happy camper. And what's odd is it's so rare to see any traditional Halloween oriented decorations or concepts integrated into events like HHN. Although I have to say, they've really improved upon this area over the past several years. Give me the tree pumpkins that are up in Kid Zone every year and you've made me happy!
  9. Exactamundo my friend...well put. I'm not saying everyone has to love everything about the event. Everyone has their own opinion about what they like, what they want to see, etc. Here's my thing (I'm going to get all philosophical on ya'll right about now): *Start of philosophical rant* if you can afford to go to the event, then you are much better off than so many people are...you have discretionary income that you can do what you want with. You aren't worried about whether to buy groceries or pay the power bill...your concerned if the streets this year are going to be what you want them to be or the houses will be up to par with your standards. Sometimes when I read the heated arguments about certain aspects of this event, it makes me want to smack some heads together to get folks to realize that what they are fighting over is completely ridiculous. So appreciate the event for what it is, like Parkscope said, something that is put together with a lot of love, care and a shit ton of work. It's fun, nothing more, nothing less. Appreciate the fact you can log online, check out this website, the HHN website, attend the event, etc. *End of philosophical rant*
  10. A to the men my brother! I'm in that rare percentage of fans that doesn't really care either way. IPs, originals, hybrids, in-breds, rednecks, who gives a shit? I go to this event to have fun, not dissect the content of each house. It's a Halloween event. People need to learn to chill, relax and have a good time. It is what it is.
  11. The commercial makes me even more excited for this year...which I didn't think was possible. I love the look on the guys face as he turns around from closing the gate and sees the all the various forms of the Dark Legions behind him. He looks like he's thinking "REALLY? You've GOT to be freaking kidding me." LOVE, love, love it...short, sweet and to the point...
  12. You know the only thing that would make the Walker SZ better for me would be if they had a Shane zombie that you could pay more to chase and smack upside the head with a shovel The Traditionals came in a very close second simply because I'm a complete and total sucker for all things, well, traditional Halloween. Jack-o-laterns, black cats, witches, ghosts, goblins, skeletons, grave stones...all that stuff to me just screams Halloween. I was happy to hear they busted out the tree pumpkins for this area!
  13. Guess that's not a vegan zombie then. I'd like to think we'd see a few them scattered throughout the house...Rick, Shane, maybe even Merle? A zombie version of Sofia would be pretty damn cool. I'd say it'd be neat to see Carl, but they could never use him because he wouldn't stay put, he'd keep on wandering in and out of the house.
  14. In a way, I'm glad that Universal didn't start marketing earlier this year. They typically start sooo early that by the time the actual event rolls around, I've become tired of hearing the radio ads and seeing the TV commercials. With this being a holiday weekend, I bet we start to see and hear more about the event on all fronts...good way to amp up curiosity among the loyal fans who are used to seeing and hearing about it long before now and to drum up the interest of the rest of the general public.
  15. 1. Dark Legions : Walkers 2. Dark Legions : Traditionals 2. The Inquitous 4. Dark Legions : Beasts 5. Dark Legions : Warriors 6. Dark Legions : Vampires 7. Dark Legions : Prisoners
  16. THAT my friend would be freaking amazing. She/he is one of those classic characters that just completely creeps me out. She/he really is a monster, just not the typical kind we associate as being such. The parade building has all the makings of a mini-soundstage...with this being somewhat of a signature house for Uni. If they didn't think this building would do the concept justice, they wouldn't have placed it there. I was thinking the same thing Kathy! This is one of the few concepts that could pull off a completely B&W house devoid of all color. Norman and Mom can make an appearance, hang out, stay and have coffee even...because that would make me an equally happy camper.
  17. Gambit my friend, I think you need to check into working for Rand McNally...because you are an exceptional map maker! Thanks for taking the time to do this for us.
  18. 1. Walking Dead 2. Gothic 3. House of Horrors 4. Penn and Teller 5. Dead End 6. Alice Cooper 7. Silent Hill
  19. Hush

    Gothic

I think they really need a few #hotdog eating gargoyles...I mean come on. Or they could be driving around in a #smallclowncar. From the looks of things, this house the potential to be THAT house this year...the one that ticks the boxes of what everyone is looking for in their favorite.
  20. This morning, it was the only legion that had a picture, but no detailed explanation next to it...could just be an oopsie. Either they didn't have the detailed info ready to add with it or this has been scrapped altogether. We get a freaking Walking Dead house...that makes me incredibly happy...if we get a street experience legion of walkers, that'll just be a bonus.
  21. We are heading out to the park tomorrow and I was going to search for them...now I know right where to find them! Thanks Jeramy!!! For me, those silly pumpkins really add to that overall Halloween ambiance.
  22. I'm a major fan of the BC as well as the Nightingales...so my hopes are high too that the Iniquitus will provide me with the same giddy happiness that both of those did. If nothing else, having the Iniquitus as the unofficial icons really opens up what can be done parkwide. I'm kinding viewing each "group" as being at war with the others and we are all caught in the middle. Me likey
  23. That's how I'm viewing it as well. But you and I both know that many people, unless provided with a specific icon with a specific name printed out on a nametag, won't see the bigger picture. Personally, I LOVE this concept. Again, it's a change up from the traditional method they've followed for so long.
  24. I honestly can't see them eliminating safe zones altogether. There are just too many people who come to this event who require an emotional "break" when walking around in the park...these are the people who have no clue what kind of event they are going to and become so overwhelmed by all that is going on around them they'd probably implode if they couldn't relax somewhere. (Those kind of people are so much fun to watch!) I'm sure we'll see a much more immersive concept than before, I but not to the point where we are surrounded by scareactors wherever we go. (That would be very costly payroll wise...LOL) You know how marketing can be with events like this, sometimes the wording is misleading. I'm with you, I want to be able to sit just outside an area with a drink and watch people running and screaming away in fear...sometimes that can prove to be the best entertainment of all! Fog...and I'd LOVE to see the pumpkins return to the trees again...that to me just screams Halloween.
  25. That's the main reason I'm so intrigued by this house, if they can pull off the DE style with this theme...this has amazing possibilities. Sometimes the ones with the least info wind up being the best of the bunch! I think simply because we go in with a more open mind and no expectations because, well, we have nothing to expect thanks to no info...LOL
