  1. So I will start this review by saying this was my 5th year of HHN, and in all 5 years, this year tied with 2009 for the best! Onto the review! I'm going by which houses I did first, and will rate them. Then at the end i will rank them! American Werewolf in London- I did this house first with the scream early admission, and then once again later at night using express. Trust me when I say this: DO THIS HOUSE MORE THAN ONCE! (That is if you can). This house is beautiful and amazing. The first time because it was so sunny i couldn't see the first half of the house causing extreme confusion and very boring until midway. I went again later on, and wow. This house got 1000000X better! It was fantastic, but they stepped up there game, as I got scared when knowing where the scareactors were! Scenery- 5/5 Scares- 4.5/5 Overall- 4.5/5 Evil Dead- Unfortunately i only got to do this house once. This was not because it was packed (which it was all night) and not because i used express (which i didn't) it was because this house was so scary, a person i was with was crying when coming out this house. I am not joking! Full, real tears! This house lived up to my expectations and was even better. The only problem was I missed many of the scares that went to the people i was with behind me so i only saw glimpses but they still got me pretty good sometimes. I love this house! Scenery- 5/5 Scares- 5/5 Overall-5/5 Havoc- So I loved this house back in 2010. I still love the concept and i loved this house! It's fun and the actors do great in getting all up in your face. It's not the actors fault that it isn't as scary as i wish it would be. It is just, army men don't scare me. If you have a fake gun in front of me and fake shoot, i'm not going to go running. With that being said, although this may not be the scariest of the houses, it still is one of my favorites this year! Scenery- 5/5 Scares- 2.5/5 Overall- 3/5 Bill & Ted's Halloween Adventure- This show was great! It still wasn't as funny as I hoped and i heard stellar reviews which made my expectations way too high. Expect this show to be a good 40 minutes spent, but if you had a choice of this or a house, go into the house! Overall- 4/5 Afterlife- I hate all 3d houses... I should say hated all 3d houses as this house blew my mind. I have never liked 3d houses as i feel its all bright lights and confusion but this house was better than i expected. I went into this house twice and both times i got scared at least once by someone i would not expect to be there. I loved the masks and I loved the whole thing, but I have the one complaint of the night in this house(SPOILER!!) - Where is everyone in the last scene??? It was so plain and boring that it ruined the ending! I thought i missed something at first but then realized there just isn't anything. This house is still great! Scenery-5/5 Scares-3.5/5 Overall- 4/5 The Walking Dead- Let's face it, Last year the walking dead house sucked. When i say sucked, I mean it might be the worst house i have ever been through with the exception of the Spawning. This year, they finally made zombies scary! Some zombies were ok, while others were amazing. This house really made me happy to be inside as i watch the show and last year I just never felt like anything was real. While although this house was great, it is once again not the best. This is because zombies are just not scary any more... I think that pretty much falls under any topic when you hear people say "Peace, Love, (in this case) Zombies), but I personally don't find dead people who snarl at you scary. Now there was one girl who made me run cause she looked SCARY but other than that it was a fun house but not really scary IMO. Scenery-5.5/5 (I honestly felt like i was in the prison!) Scares- 2/5 Overall-2.5/5 La Llorona- I was expecting this house to be amazing. I love the story, I love her as an icon and honestly hope to see her as an icon. Now is this house the best? Hate to break it to you, but no. My HOTY prediction was incorrect, but this house was still very very good. It was very freaky and scary but I was a little disappointed. I feel like this house had so much potential that it was impossible to rise to the level that i thought it would be, but really this house is still great. I believe if i could've went through this a second time, then i would have a different opinion. Scenery- 5/5 Scares- 3/5 Overall-4/5 Rocky Horror Picture Show- This movie is fantastic. With that being said if you have not seen the movie, the show will NOT MAKE ANY SENSE! Please don't bring people who don't understand or not open to everything. I brought 4 people who had no idea what it was, and who don't love plays or crazy things so they hated it. It really takes the whole experience out when you have drunk people talk loudly about how weird and stupid this show is. This is why I would advise to you at least look up clips so you know who weird this show is. The cast is FANTASTIC and the women who plays Janet has a fantastic voice. I loved it! Overall-4.5/5 (People leaving and getting up ruins the experience ) Cabin In the Winds- HOTY. This house is flawless. I got scared in almost every room and considering I love this movie only made my experience better. I loved the tv in the rooms, which reminded me of a classic - H.R. Bloodngutz (Can you call it a classic if it's 2 years old?). Every room was fantastic also. One girl got me SO bad, i guess this is a spoiler but they are on the photo on the website- but the people with the white masks/black hoodies - well if you were the scareactor girl, bravo! Real only scared-to-death experience in a while at HHN! I ducked and you swung as if you knew i was going to duck... OR DID YOU MEAN TO HIT ME? lol Scenery- 5/5 Scares-6/5 Overall- 10/5 Resident Evil- What every one says about this house- listen. I don't play RE so i did not know what to expect and it just was boring to me. None of the actual scary aliens popped in my face so it wasn't so scary. I did like this house though, but it still was the worst one of the night. That being said, I came in knowing this would be the worst IMO and it did beat what i expected it be like. Scenery- 5/5 Scares-1/5 Overall-2/5 Walking dead street experience- Now the barn was very blah. haha, it wasn't what i thought it would be. It was still very cool, but i hoped for more. I wasn't impressed by the streets, but i have to be honest, everyone BLENDS IN SO WELL! I got scared multiple times by zombies but they were jump scares and other than that they were just oh youre a zombie, cool. As i said before IMO zombies arent scary! Overall- 4/5 (Would be a 3/5 but they blend in so well that it was cool to not know who is what) So here was my expected house list- 1. La Llorona 2. Evil Dead 3. Cabin in the Woods 4. Havoc 5. American Werewolf in London 6. Resident Evil 7. The Walking dead 8. Afterlife My house rank after going- 1. Cabin in the Woods 2. Evil Dead 3. American Werewolf In London 4. Afterlife 5. La Llorona 6. Havoc 7. The Walking Dead 8. Resident Evil If you got this year- GET EXPRESS! That's my tip! I got to do 4 houses without (about 10/20 minute waits, excluding afterlife which was about 30 minutes) until 8. After 8 everything, and i mean EVERYTHING was at least 45 minutes, with most being 75. This year was honestly amazing. If they can do this again next year, then i would even love going more than i do... if that's even possible! See you next year HHN! - JetsfreakHHN
  2. Anyone know the houses stay and scream get? I know one is AWIL, but i heard from one person the other is TWD and from others i heard its RE. Doing it for the first time this Saturday!
  3. does any one know the times for this and rocky? Looking for this saturday!
  4. Does anyone know how long this show is? I heard B&T is like 45 minutes and I just wanted to know if I can see both shows an do all 8 houses with almost all rides if I express on this Saturday night If I have express*
  5. Does any know which of these i should do first/second/third? I want to do them over later in the night, as i have express, but typically i can do at least 2 without express as I get there 30 minutes before opening. Should i do CITW, ED or AWIL first? I know these are the most highly favored houses so far this year and the 3 with usually the most waits. I was going to do CITW then ED then AWIL but i've seen how amazing AWIL that i have to do it 2 times without a question. I was now thinking AWIL, evil dead then CITW. Which should i do? (PS I love ALL 3 OF THESE MOVIES! I think CITW was my fav but it looked not so amazing and have seen its reviews being not as great as the ED and AWIL reviews.
  6. I didn't know where to put this so i think this is the best place- does any one know when bill & Ted and RHPS shows are (for oct 19) ? Also what would you say i should go to first? I have express and i give 2 houses to be able to walk with no wait before the crowds start. I was planning evil dead and CITW but i watched the videos on youtube, which i knew i would regret but it was too tempting, and CITW looks good but AWIL looks absolutely amazing. I love all 3 of these movies but i'm thinking: AWIL first then ED, and see if i can do CITW with short wait.. Good idea? I would use express on the same house later on in the night, but i feel like ED and AWIL would be best- any advice?
  7. So since HHN kicks off tomorrow, to the people going and who went last night- which house had the most wait times? I know i'm not the only one trying to beat the crowds! I'm assuming TWD will be a big wait time, but what else? I would like to hit these houses before without express and use the express later for them. Also say on here which houses had high waits and which had relatively short waits. Thank you for helping out
  8. THERES A JACK MINI VINYL ! http://behindthethrills.net/post/61543214425/look-who-was-spotted-walking-out-of-universalorl
  9. I will probably be wearing the same shirt (An evil dead one most likely or the La Llorona one) but just go to my facebook page : https://www.facebook.com/adam.q.rachlin I will be also wearing glasses (Kind of hip ones that used to be considered "Nerd"). I will be with 8 people, 5 of us are under 18, the others adults. If you see me say something like "Quan" or just call me Adam. Dont expect me on day one! Ill be there october 19! PS: how do you post pictures!?? I can't figure it out - I keep trying with with everything it wont work but i thought this link would be easier than having to go to my facebook so this link is the photo!
  10. they do not sell online anymore. By now, as they are selling in the park- just call merchandise and they'll ship it to you
  11. I ask about the merch online (via email) and i got some news. I saw Designing the Fear post a new zombie shirt, kind of like last years one so i decided to email if i can start ordering my tees. Well they said not until they actually sell the stuff (she said thursday/friday but you never know) and she gave some news. She said there will be 5 HHN shirts, but gave me 7 things. I dont know if they are somehow all related but here they are: Resident Evil- 21.95 La Llorona- 21.95 (She said the walking dead shirts are 23.95 and 2 shirts are the walking dead which im assuming are:) "I am a fighter, not a biter"- 23.95 (?) HHN 2013 Infected- 23.95 (?) Evil dead- 21.95 House tee- 21.95 Generic- 21.95 I only asked for tees, they will probably have jackets as they did last 2 years. Im assuming the 5 hhn shirts are evil dead, house, generic, resident evil and llorona. Kind of sad no CITW shirt but also a little happy for the LL shirt! I believe the infected HHN 2013 shirt is the one DTF posted and i can't find a way to put the picture up so i'm expecting someone to soon lol
  12. Really hope this doesn't end up being like years wait times for this house... well actually i do! TWD is fantastic and this house looks absolutely amazing, but nothing to do with HHN or TWD, zombies just don't scare me... The only good zombies i've ever seen at HHN was zombiegedden and that was because it was my first year and i thought everything was like the most amazing thing in the world (which i still do lol). I hope this doesn't have a line so i can use some more times in other houses before using express, cause i really pick about 3/4 houses to do before having to use express (CITW, ED, LL and/or TWD) Other than that this house detail looks awesome and seeing some characters will be awesome
  13. I heard something online about an opening scaremonies... is this true? Are they bringing it back? Also i wasn't there the last time they had it- is it only the first day or right when the park opens every night?
  14. 1. La Llorona- Feeling this will be a crazy, amazing house. Heard it was good in USH but hoping it GREAT here. 2.Cabin in The Woods- LOVE this movie (actually watched it on my last trip to HHN) and can't wait to see how they pull it off. 3. Evil Dead- 3 Words: gore gore and MORE GORE (Ok thats 4...) 4. Havoc- I loved this house back in 10, it looks fantastic! 5. Resident Evil- Don't know much about the games, only played RE 6, i'm interested just not as much as i wish i was. 6. AWIL- Feel after i watch this movie i will be more into it, but i like werewolf houses, just don't find them to be very scary 7. Afterlife- LOVE THIS CONCEPT! But once they said "In Between" I lost all hope... I (unlike almost everyone) felt in between was more confusing than scary. I hope its more planned out and easier to get through, cause i got lost multiple times in the in-between and never got scared once... Also its a little too disorienting with 3d glasses on top of my regular glasses. 8. TWD- Now I really do love this show, but season 3 just was boring to me in most points... not only that, but last years house was so bad and so un-scary that i have some hope, but not a lot. I know, now its its inside so it might be fantastic but then again even at night last year i saw many scares (did right when i got in and at around 10). WOW, going through this i actually found it hard to pinpoint what im not excited for and what i am... I think this is the first year that everything somewhat interests me, I just pray they can make these houses as amazing as I wish!
  15. Love this movie and first year since i can see it, since in 09 was going in and it started to storm really badly, what can i expect?
  16. So I'm going october 19, which i know is the most packed weekend (at least prediction wise). What should i do to make sure i will do everything including the shows and all the houses? I get express (FOR 99.99 DOLLARS!) and get in line about 5:45/6. Any help for what i should do? For the past 3 years i have done this! Just ask them and usually they'll say yes or be like "Hmm what is that?" And wink and look the other way
  17. I thought maybe they would release RE on thursday and Havoc on friday.... I understand that RE would bring in more newcomers and it's way bigger than Havoc, but maybe they want to reach out to people who have been to past event more. I feel they're trying hard this year to give major fans more than before (Evil takes root, legendary truth + FFP extra, Aiello on Twitter) that maybe they're trying to reach for the major fans this year
  18. As i see on the map (and must expected) they took the criticism and put TWD in a full house not a tent or light area (Disaster). This actually gives me hope for this house... The last one was so disappointing, which had to do with the outside light. At night it was decent, i'm interested in seeing how they will make it work at the prison and at woodburry.
  19. And do we know how they may do CitW? Will be only the dead family in the movie, or all the creatures released in the movie? I hope it has some sort of way to release all the monsters in a sort of way where we are still in the woods. I would like to be the elevator where it goes black and you see things jumping out but that seems way out of reach on what designers can do
  20. Now I have not read all 57 pages, as I am just looking at this page again since like there was 15 pages, but does any one think there will be a Purge house? The movie is universal and has been becoming a sensation to many people. Now the movie, not being so scary, it can have an awesome effect inside a house. I know about TWD theory and I remember possibly an Evil Dead theory (Fingers crossed), but the Purge can be an awesome house.
  21. Also, with all this talk about 2 parks, I really hope they don't have it 2 separate events. Its already a crazy amount of money for 1 night, imagine 2 and that includes everything on top of it. I would love 2 events, don't get me wrong, but the GP won't stand for that. As they will only buy one night to one of the 2 events.
  22. I honestly would love a witchy/dark magic theme. I feel like that hasn't been used lately and i think they could make something awesome from that
  23. i do not believe they will do hordes this year. Maybe a leading horde that connects all the scarezones together ( like a main character) but with all the whining on facebook, i do not believe they will do just hordes. Maybe they'll split it up 3 scarezone/3 hordes, hopefully they have 8 houses this year, but that might not be possible ... and does anyone know if IOA is out of the question? i understand their is less lands they can use ( Suesslanding and HP) but maybe they can fit more houses? Is their any chance of using two parks? I didn't go to HHN when they did the 2 parks, and i heard its a nightmare, but i always wanted to see how they could do that and how you can walk almost 2 full parks with all the waits I know many people my age who haven't even heard of the movie "Bill and Ted" but i did hear they are making a Bill & Ted 3, i believe to come out at the end of the year, or maybe next year. The first time i have ever seen Bill & Ted was last year before HHN! I always knew them, just never sat and watched the whole movie.
  24. So this year was a very bumpy ride! First off we were 30 minutes late on road, then a nail was in our tire which we had to stop for about an hour/ an hour and a half to get a plug, then we were in the middle of the storm driving up from south florida and then my glasses broke... BUT Sandy decided to be really nice friday night, my uncle fixed my glasses, and halloween horror nights KICKED ASS! (I am rating all the houses on a atmosphere/scare/overall scale) Here are my house reviews in order of how i did them The Walking Dead: Dead Inside (In the light)-We ran to this house first because i knew how long the line would get. We went in regular and it had no wait, just walked right on in. This house was very good in scenery with minimal scares. Now we saw where everyone was when it was light out, but i still got scared by the guy who grabs at you from above! The ending was kind of ruined with them trying to grab you in between holes because you saw where they were. Now later on we went into this house again using express- WOW. A lot better in the dark! I was still i little disappointed in the whole house, but i did get a lot more scares. The guy on the top scared me AGAIN, and the ending was a lot better! I still felt they missed out on things, like maybe have an actor help each group go through and get taken by a zombie, or have some zombies inside the RV. Atmosphere: 7/10 Scares: 4/10 Overall: 6/10 Gothic- We also did this house twice (because dead end had a 30 minute wait while this house had only 10 minute wait) Now it didnt matter if in light or dark but we did it in the beginning and near the end. Just WOW. I LOVE THIS HOUSE! I'm happy i did it twice! I missed more things the second than the first! Loved them in the air and thought they had great masks on. I loved the scenery, and the last room is AMAZING! Missed the person inside the house on the first time, but he scared the crap out my family the second time! Such an amazing distraction when the guy is flying through space! Meanwhile, i came in thinking i was going to hate this house, and came out loving it! Atmosphere: 10/10 Scares:8.5/10 Overall: 9.5/10 House Of Horrors- Now i went into this house scared as hell that i had to crouch, but it wasn't as bad as i expected! Now i LOVED the black and white theme they had on this, but i felt it gave less time to scare with all the strobe lights. It also made it hard to see through the house, I had no scares in the Black Lagoon room, and barely any scares the whole time. But this did have probably the scare of the year, or at least a close second. The ending had me running as fast as i can out! I honestly smashed my face into my moms head because i needed to get out! I wish they had a longer house for this and more rooms, i felt it was very short. Atmosphere: 8/10 Scare: 7/10 Overall: 8/10 Alice cooper: Welcome To My Nightmare- I came in this house, being so confident i was going to love it... What happened!? We got stuck at a cast change so that could be a part of it, but still it felt so empty. So short also. I did like the spider web room but i could barely get through that room after walking into everything. I just felt this house needed a lot more than it got. Atmosphere: 5/10 Scares: 3/10 Overall: 5/10 Penn And Tellers: New'kd Las Vegas- I LOVE Penn. I LOVE this house! It was so funny and trippy that it made my night! I got a great scare by a person behind the slot machines, and the clown at the end was leaning over me that i had crouch with my head basically on the floor! The overall best room of the event goes in this house... The lights room! OMG That room was AWESOME! I didn't get scared as much as i wanted too but this was a great house. Also it comes with a free hhn 3d glasses, i mean what could have gone better? Atmosphere: 10/10 Scares: 8/10 Overall: 9/10 Dead End: I came to this event knowing this will be the scariest house, and i was totally... CORRECT! This house scared the crap out of me! This was the best house of the year. Just everything about it screamed out creepy. The ghosts holograms were so cool and the photo room is amazing! The last room though... scared me SO BAD! We were kind of stuck in the last room and we watched the bed and when she screamed OMG I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO CRY! Haha, no but seriously that was the best scare of the event. Atmosphere: 11/10 Scares:10/10 Overall 10/10 Welcome To Silent Hill- I think silent hill is so scary. Just all the monsters freak me out. But after reading everybody's reviews of this house, i began to doubt my judgement... Don't get me wrong, i still came to the event thinking that this still can be the scariest house, but my dreams became nightmares as i went through this house. I did get one or two scares, but as in Alice cooper i felt there was such a lack of actors. I mean One pyramid head i saw, ONE! And he almost hit my brother in the face, in which was very cool but why didnt he have a sword? I still did like the feel of this house though. Frankly, i dont know why though. I thought this house had the potential to be so much better! Atmosphere: 7/10 Scares: 2/10 Overall: 6/10 Street Experience: When i first heard about this i was happy and kind of sad. I knew it would be hard to find every group and a lot less props but overall i LOVED this street experience! I thought it was so much better than what everyone was saying! I saw: Traditionals, Walkers, Prisoners, Vampires, The Iniquitus, Beasts, and Warriors. The only ones i did not see were the zombies (fast ones). The scariest were the traditionals, but the beasts were at a close second. Warriors didn't go to us and prisoners i basically missed since we had to run to bill and ted. I miss the scare zones, but i loved the fact that they were everywhere. Shows: This year for the first time, i got to watch both shows. Bill and Ted's Excellent Halloween Adventure- Out of the last 3 years, ive been to 2 of them. This year was my third and WOW it blew the other two out of proportion! It was very commical, and the best part was either honey boo boo or magic mike. Overall it was very funny and well worth the 30/40 minutes! I give it a 9/10 20 Penny Circus- We did this because it started at the exact time we walked by. It wasnt as fun as i wanted it to be... It had some funny moments, like one or two, but magic just isn't something i very interested in. PLEASE BRING BACK ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW! I give it a 5/10 Overall: This year, in my opinion was a success. It my have had its flaws, but it was scarier than last year (well in most houses and street experience) I felt it had a lack of actors in some houses and NO CHAINSAWS. Come on hhn! We want more chainsaws! House order form least favorite to favorite: Alice cooper- 7 Silent hill- 6 The Walking dead- 5 House of horrors- 4 Penn and teller- 3 (Now heres where its very tricky...but i have to choose one!) Gothic-2 Dead End- 1 I can't wait for next year!
