Hellllo this is the ghost of forums past. Hope you are all well.
There is a possibility I actually might come back to the event this year. But we'll see how it pans out.

Beetlejuice, puppets, Billie Elish NOT happening, other stuff.... all that sounds pretty awesome. It'll be fun to see how it all turns out.

    Long time no see!

    Hell yeah ! What nights?

    Bee ! I like it !

I’m so glad that you guys had those minimal waits; Sunday was so good that I felt comfortable and encouraged to do Ghostbusters twice back-to-back because of those small crowds. What was your favorite house?

Idk why but I always read your name "Its a bee" XD

My wife's favorite was Us, and she saw the movie - hated it - and loved the house. I never saw Us, but just thought the house was "okay".

I changed my mind and my favorite was hands down Ghostbusters (was Yeti). The scares weren't overall super over the top, but as a HUGE nerd for that movie it was AMAZING walking through all the sets. I couldn't stop looking around! The headquarters scene with Janine and the part with Louis and Dana... BEST PARTS EVER! I loved the full size Slimer suits and the Gozer dog puppets!

Best scares was definitely Yeti and a very close second for favorite house.

I love the House shirt that we got , but can't help wondering why Ghostbusters isn't on it? Anyone know why?

Just wrapped up 4 nights in a row... when I get an extra hour I will post a review. But overall this was a great year! Houses were fantastic! SZ's were average but still really fun! We, once again, had a blast!

I will also add... that little bit of rain kept the crowds away Saturday the 14th. It was the slowest Saturday Ive ever seen and Ive been going since 2006. It was awesome we did 13 houses and still had plenty of time to eat, drink, sit around, catch the lagoon show. Was great!

YES! We went that day and it was soooo nice! I posted that I was worried about not doing FP since it was too expensive for us... it was so worth it to do the Stay and Scream add on since my wife and I aren't UOAPs anymore. Longest we waited was about 45 min for Stranger Things and that was including the time in the S&S corral. Overall, times were great Yeti 20 min Us 20 min 1000 C's 30 min Uni Monsters 15min Graveyard Games 15min Killer Klowns 5!!! Min.

So much fun! My favorite was definitely Yeti, although it was closed when the event first opened (we went through ST and Us first and then it opened) looked like some of the Yeti's took too long in makeup?

Stranger Things is where Poltergeist was last year while Ghostbusters is the one in front of the stage, so the waiting area should be the same regardless.

In my personal experience on the first two nights, it doesn’t save much time to do the big houses first. Ghostbusters took 40 minutes even with being the first one through the gate on my turnstile because I was up at the front. Speed-walked there and everything, but still.

I don’t know how it’s gonna be with Stay and Scream, but you could always try. The waits generally don’t improve over the night for those big ones, whereas it feels like the smaller houses only worsen. All in all, the ones I’ve waited a considerable amount of time for would have been 7:26-8:02 for Universal Classic Monsters, 8:20ish-8:45 for Graveyard Games, 8:50-9:45 for Nightengales, and obviously ST and Busters get some lines. I know that at least the beginning of the night, all of the back houses should be walk-ons; House of 1000 Corpses followed immediately by Depths of Fear had almost no wait for us on opening night, and were it not for it being opened a little later last night, Nightengales would have been good at 6:30. As we left Nightengales, we could see that Depths was still a walk-on.

Anyway, back-of-the-park strategy is always handy, but if you want to do one of those bigger houses more than once (I don’t know about ST, but Ghostbusters has some sights), sure, go ahead and knock it out with S&S. I wouldn’t advise doing both of the big ones one after the other unless the goal is to get them out of the way. If the goal is to save time, the problem is that everyone else has the same idea and once they’re done with those big houses, they’re going to head to the smaller ones and the lines will increase.

I hope you guys have so much fun at HHN and that the lines won’t be too harsh! If you run into problems and need recommendations or directions, I’ll be there Saturday and I’m more than willing to help out. Have a great time and do remember to plan a first house, but otherwise, I find it easier and more fun to decide in the moment. Cheers!

Hey Bee! The stilt walker in Ghostbusters was there on Saturday!

  4. Longggggggggg time, no see everyone! Guess what? We get to go this year! Grandma's in town to watch the kiddos and the wife and I are heading up Saturday. I know I haven't been super active in a  long time, but I was hoping to get some help on here.

It's been so long since we have gone, since we can never get a baby sitter and are a couple hours away. I bought the S&S addon to the tickets this weekend. Is ST in the front by Minions where the big house usually goes? So is that the Hello Kitty S&S area or Finnegans?

ANY POINTERS? God, it's been so long and we can't fork out for FP... we want to get as much done and I feel liek going straight to ST first would help with waits the rest of the night.

Love all you guys, my horror family. It's been a while but I hope everyone has been doing good. <3

Hey man! Welcome back. Scoop is 5 IPs, 4 originals. Marketing dropping the ball this year, no icon, a huge gap between the last announcement and the next one which will happen in 20+ days based on their website timer. Cringy, half assed tweets, two awkward selfie shots, a website that started neat and is now looking to be bland as shit. They're running this "Soul Collector" nonsense which basically is an indirect way to plead for retweets and shares on social media. Fans getting fed up, AoV is coming back which is disappointing most folks, and while we apparently "know" what's coming house wise there's some speculation that the four originals ("Bayou of Blood" , a dustbowl house, Conjuring w/ Vampires, and Gothic / Catacombs crossover) may not be what we are thinking.

For the IPs we're getting some mixed feelings (Jigsaw --> "we've seen that boring Saw sets already", The Shining --> "no way they can replicate the scale", Ash vs Evil Dead --> "why, we've seen that already?") etc.

Yeah I've been seeing the social media team struggling as of recently. I got in on this Soul Collector nonsense but maybe that will turn itseld around in the coming months. A Bayou of Blood house?! Sweet! Granted, that the current speculation is true. What the hell is Conjuring with Vamps? lol!

And I take it Ash vs Evil Dead is our comedy house this year? HOPEFULLY NOT 3D.

I could also see Saw (haha Seesaw) going for a crappy 3D house too.

Correct. It blows. No one will say "This made the event worth it," but many will, "It didn't add to my reason to attend."

    I'M BACK

Critical give me an update on what's been going down. I'm so far out of the loop.

  7. Tim Tracker talked about this the other day. Now it's all not for sure until Uni posts it, but word is that it's a 90 min experience. 30 minutes though take up learning how to use the system.

Edit: This would also make sense because it's obviously interactive:

"while working together in teams of four to uncover a paranormal mystery told through the use of the cutting-edge technology"

Little disappointed that Asylum isn't in them mix, as that and Murder House are my two favorite seasons (and I also personally believe after Asylum the show kind of started going down hill) but I guess if the rumors of wanting to do seasons 2,3 and 6 next year are true... it makes sense.

Still, excited. Despite if seasons 4 and 5 were good, there is no doubt that there are scenes/locations and characters that lend themselves well to a haunt. And season one is amazing.

I'm in the same boat! Asylum was my second favorite behind Murder House! I never got into Hotel, but maybe Freak Show can be good... They have plenty of props from last year they can reuse for the house that's for sure! lol

My guess would be a standing scareactor and a puppeted body (or a mechanical one with just an internal spinning drum with a bar coming out for the very end of the tail).  It would be the perfect eye candy to distract everybody as they go through the room and allow for easy jump scares....and the scareactor, with no real mobility, would just do an "uncross his arms and boo scare" and then go back to crossing their arms and rhythmically swaying.

Remember a few years ago when they had the huge La Llorona face eating the scareactor? I'm thinking more like that.

My only pledge is to beat my house count from last year. I made it through two of them. (First year+horrible anxiety+never was into anything horror until now...) So I'll be doing at the very least Chance's house plus whichever two are the easiest from my POV. I much prefer SZs to houses so I'll definitely be hanging out in all of them.

My wife was the same way! Our first year going together was 2 years ago, and she was a trooper. We did almost all the houses and by the end of the night she really enjoyed herself. She hid her eyes through most of it, but she had fun. Last she did even better and looked the entire time. I was so proud of her.

Two things that she says helps: Alcohol (although last year she couldn't have any since she was pregnant lol and she still did great) and having a tall guy to hide behind! lol

Almost forgot: I pledge to get fastpasses again this year. Because it's bonkers to go without when you can only go one night!

Walking Dead is a compilation of all seasons, so yes they no doubt have material. More than they've ever have.

While the lineup hasn't leaked, "outlines" are out there, even on this forum.

Word on the bird is no mega Hitchcock, but the mega mainly rumored at this point (minus any surprises or "Scream Incidents", which is possible with this property) is another TV show that's arguably been in the running for a few years now.

      COUGH American Horror Story COUGH

I'm glad they're pricing it higher. Revenue will stay the same with less people. Kicks annoying people out and decreases lines.

Hopefully it will decrease the foot traffic we get. I mean, last year was a big year (more or less because it was "25" years) which would have generated more people coming to the event. Especially using Jack as bait for more loyal people getting tired of the IP's and WDx4.

What I'm trying to say is last year was sooooo busy. My wife and I got express and still waited a good chunk of time in line (worse than previous years) and we went during what's been normally a "slow" day. When wait times late September on a Thursday go over 120 (or over 60 for that matter for that time of year)... it's too much. Praise be to EP and the glorious hole it makes in my pocket lol!

We still waited 40 minutes in EP line for Insidious last year.

Zones were congested and assholes abundant. Just ready for less crowds!

Predicting this is in Shrek as that was the only thing Legacy didn't seem to at least have a tentative theme for prior and he didn't appear to know about Chance, hence "The Unknown".

This should be interesting. Mike described her house and zone as mixing the two worlds into "fever dreams". So there is the potential for some cool visuals here.

Nah, they would've said 3D in the blog.

I would hope, it seems too easy for "fever dreams" transitions to be implemented with 3D. I'd be totally fine without having a 3D house this year.

  14. Y'all being way too critical on critical. I'm not sure if you guys have been around long enough to know his style (Not talking about Jeremy, he knows what's up) but it's in his NAME. lol

I don't always agree with him but I love him like family, because that's what we are here... a big dysfunctional family lol

Just like Legacy, he makes good points and you might not like the way he says stuff but dang it he's usually right. lol

  15. Get there as early as possible, hit m&m, fvj, bc, then run, awil, purge, twd, then end with insidious. mix in shows as you wish.

Wouldn't it be more beneficial to S&S at Potter and get Insidious/Purge done first. I've heard talk that once B&T's gets going that half the park's wait times stay high
